Delicious! Friend and I ate there last night..I had the catfish,collards and corn pudding...she had the brisket sandwich and queso Mac n cheese...we had also ordered hush puppies as an app and the only mis-step of the evening was we received dinner about 3 minutes after getting our app! Minor issue really....we chowed down and everything was really good...corn pudding was a stand out! Hush puppies are a must have...everything else was tasty.....only thing I wouldn't order again was the collards...they were ok but not amazing... Three of us stopped in here the other night for some good BBQ. I keep seeing the Jack's BBQ ads on social media so that definitely works! We shared an app of the hush puppies and I admit, they are large and uniform and cooked just right but not a bit sweet which is how I like them (e.g. Briley's BBQ). They were served with tartar sauce so they were going for the savory flavor here. We took the leftovers home and warmed them up and had them with honey and they were perfect. For dinner, I had the 3 rib platter which came with my choice of 2 sides. I chose the yummy chili and then the mustardy potato salad to balance out the flavors. My meal was great with the smoked pork ribs being cooked to perfection and the savory no beans chili being a highlight me me again (see my previous review of Jacks). The potato salad was also a great foil to the heavy smoked meats. My dining companions had the hot wings, sliced beef brisket and pulled pork. Their sides were mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and gumbo. I tried and liked the gumbo and the mac and cheese. They were very tasty. The pulled pork is to die for. They have this recipe down and have the most tender, moist and perfect pulled pork that I've ever had. It is absolutely delicious and it will be my go-to dish for future visits. You have to try it. Casual place to gather with friends and family, great service, great food. Second time visiting and food was just as good as the first time and so was the service. Under Appetizers: The Fried Picke Jar - deep fried okra, homemade pickles, and jalapeños. So good! The homemade pickles have a nice slight kick (it wasn't the jalapeños). Buttermilk Hushpuppies - great to share among a group of 4 or more. It's delicious, but filling (hence great for sharing). Under BBQ Plates: I've had the Double Trouble on both visits. Choice of any 2 meats and 2 sides. First visit, I asked if I can have the catfish as one of my meat and the manager was kind enough to allow this. Pulled pork as my 2nd meat. The catfish was nicely cooked -- deep fried with southern cornmeal, and the pulled pork was delicious! Like noted on their menu, no bbq sauce needed because the meat is amazingly delicious! Although they do offer original style bbq sauce and smoked jalapeño bbq sauce. I liked the orignal one better but they're both good. For the sides -- collard greens and Texas caviar (Black-eyed pea salad). I haven't had Texas caviar before and I really liked it! It had a refreshing taste. My 2nd visit, I had the catfish (it was that good that I had to have it again) and brisket. The brisket was good, although the pulled pork was tastier. For sides, I had the Texas caviar and their seasonal which was gumbo. The gumbo didn't taste like it had seafood in it, but their version was good with the sausages. Other sides I've tried: - Coleslaw - it wasn't bad, but nothing to rave about. - Potato salad - tasty! Had the right amount of mayo, and seasoned well. - Sweet Corn Pudding - OMG! This was delicious! Just the right amount of creaminess, very flavorful! Homemade Desserts -- both desserts were really good! Peach cobbler & ice cream for two - Wow! Pecan Pie Champion - had this a la mode - Yummy! Cocktails: Smoked Old Fashioned - good old fashioned, not as smoky as expected but good nonetheless. Bruised Cherry Manhattan - didn't try this but my friend said it was good. Our first visit, our tab was automatically rounded up for their "Round Up & Give". It was minimal, but it would've been nice if this wasn't done automatically or at least ask first if we want to round up. Stopped in for lunch after arriving too late for dinner the previous evening (despite the large "Open" sign being illuminated). As we walked from our hotel, parking wasn't an item we were concerned with, but the private lot seemed adequately large with appropriately-sized parking spaces. The establishment is bright and clean, with a rustic "old roadhouse" sort of vibe and décor. The smells of smoked meats are abundant. Portion size is huge, especially considering the comparatively low prices. I was particularly impressed with the unique items on the menu, such as beef bacon, which we had to try. It was good, and definitely worth trying. It had a "candied" preparation, which was lovely. While the food was overall quite good, it wasn't the "not of this planet" BBQ that I've had in Texas. My party loved them! Their corn bread is amazing with honey on top. Brisket is really good. It tastes different being pulled apart. I also tried their squared ribs and those are the best! We also ordered fish and chips. It was a good size plate for little ones. They offer milk too fortunately :) They have their own parking which is a good thing. It is big so no problem on that side. Every time I look up the menu for Jack's there are several non bbq items that always catch my eye. Since this was my first trip in I thought I should stick with something closer to their core competency. We split a ribeye steak and for the two sides went with Brussels sprouts, and collard greens. Steak was lightly smoked, which is the perfect way to prepare it, and then grilled. I would have liked the collard greens to be a bit more vinegary, which means that they are probably perfect for anyone else. They were loaded with plenty of brisket (instead of bacon). The real show stopper were the Brussels sprouts. They aren't on the regular menu but our server mentioned them as a seasonal special. You should definitely inquire if they are available, you will thank me later. read more

Airy and decor matching the bbq menu. Lots of choices, normal Redmond prices but good volume. Smoked ice tea is a must (dirty version with vodka also available). Brisket was tender with a perfect smoky ring and taste. Sausages were crisp and you won't need bbq sauce with them. The pork ribs were very nicely done and juicy with a nice outside bark. The New York steak was large, and ordering rare got me a medium with hardly any sear. Might be how it is smoked. Will have to try again. Reasonable pricing for steaks for the size served. Sides were really good, Texas chili highly recommended with onions and sour cream, there are no beans! Corn bread is huge and just sweet enough. We went to this BelRed location, but the one downer is they were out of peach cobbler (guess we'll have to come back!) He's a big brisket guy to begin with and he said they definitely got it right. Ribs: My favorites! I don't normally like them black, but now I know why people do! There aren't too many places in the Greater Seattle Area for Texas style BBQ, and I'm glad that Jack's BBQ is available on the Eastside. There was currently an interesting promotion during the month of April that extended into May called Meat Madness, where you could get a 12oz Ribeye for $29 or a 16oz for $34, so we decided to swing by and check it out! We went on a Friday around 6PM and were seated with no wait time. Parking at Jack's is difficult - there are only 4 or 5 spaces at the front of the restaurant and 8-12 spaces behind the restaurant. If there aren't any spots, you will have to find street side parking that is hopefully nearby and then walk to the restaurant. The ambiance is that of your typical Texas BBQ restaurant, with American inspired decoration with hanging wire lights and dark wooden aesthetic. Dining is casual sit down, you can also take your order to go. We got our orders after ordering through a waiter and waiting about 10-15ish minutes for our food. I got the 16oz Ribeye for $34, which came with two sides that you can select from the menu. I picked Ranch Beans and Texas Caviar as my two sides. For the steak, I ordered medium, which was done perfectly - good crust on the outside and a juicy and flavorful interior! They used a different type of spice mix rather than just straight salt and pepper, as the steak itself had a smokey and stick to your ribs decadence that is impossible to replicate at home unless you got a smoker. The Texas Caviar served as a nice kind of salad and had a small bite of acidity to it, and the Ranch Beans hearty way to get back into eating the steak. This was a very indulgent meal and will stuff most people afterwards! I also got some options to go, which included some brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Everything including the steak added up to $83, which I thought was a decent deal for all of the food that I got. The takeout definitely made up a couple of meals afterwards. I definitely think that Jack's BBQ is one of the better Texas BBQ restaurants that I have tried in Seattle so far! Price for the quality and quantity edges out similar restaurants by a bit and location isn't as difficult as if you were to go into Seattle to find BBQ. I would revisit Jack's BBQ if I'm ever feeling some hearty and luxurious Texas BBQ! (4.5 stars) read more

Austin landed in Bellevue! Great spot for legit BBQ on the Eastside. We'll definitely be back for more. We ordered the two-meat plate with chopped Dallas-style brisket and pulled pork. Love jacks! It feels like I'm back home when I'm there. Definitely the best BBQ you'll find in the area. I usually get chips and queso to start. I like getting the queso with brisket in it. It's delicious! For the meal I like getting a sliced brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. The brisket sandwich has a very generous amount of meat! The mac and cheese is amazing. All of the sides seem to be traditional sides but with a slight twist which makes it unique. While the mac and cheese is my favorite, the beans and mashed potatoes are also really good! This is one of my significant other's favorites, and for the first time, I ordered it to be delivered. It did take about an hour to get to me, so I put my ribs and fries in the air frier to warm them up. The ribs were really big and had such a great taste to them. First time at this location, I've been at the original one in Georgetown and multiple times at the one in the Microsoft food hall in bldg 4. I really love Jack's! When you step in into this location you get teleported to Texas (or at least, to a place that in my fantasy looks like Texas). Really good Texas style barbeque in the Seattle metro area. My wife and I planned an impromptu, short weekend visit to our daughter and her fiancé, who live in Bellevue, WA. She knows how much my wife loves Texas style smoked brisket, so suggested getting carry-out for the four of us on a Saturday night. The Picnic meal ($86) came with brisket (2-3 slices), 3 full pork ribs (basically spare ribs), 2 sausages (1 jalapeno cheddar and the other hot link), 1/3 of a chicken, and a bit of pulled pork. If you accept the price they charge for each item separately, then getting them via a 'picnic meal' is a good deal. You get your choice of 4 sides, and with our choicers b being remoulade coleslaw, cornbread, ranch beans, and mashed potatoes. When you put the food together, it sure didn't feel like a 100 dollars worth of food. But good BBQ (when you can find it) is expensive on the West Coast, and this is no exception. I thought the brisket was excellent: we got slices from the flat end of the brisket, and the meat did indeed break apart in your fingers and melt in your mouth. It's the type of dish where because there is only a limited amount (definitely not enough for even 1 hungry person), how much you take and eat is determined by the closeness of your fellow diners: with strangers or casual co-workers you are taking as much as you can (shaming be damned). But with your closest family, you get just enough for a taste (so I could write about it) and save it for your loved ones. And sure enough, the brisket was the first thing gone. As for the rest of the meal, different people in the group had different opinions. I liked the spare ribs quite a bit. It had been heavily dry rubbed, and smoked beautifully with a very visible smoke ring. And the firmness of the meat was perfectly done. One of the sausage links, I really liked and the other one not so much....wish I could definitively say which was the hot link and the other cheddar. The chicken was well prepared, with the skin crisped expertly. The pulled pork was just OK. The portion sizes for the sides were between a single serving and what restaurants might call a large (e.g. the mashed potatoes being enough for 2 people)...which makes sense, since this picnic meal is meant for 2 really hungry people or 4 normal. As for the taste, I wasn't a fan. The cole slaw tasted off, the mashed potatoes should really be called whipped potatoes...almost runny, and the ranch beans weren't as good as I would expect. And strangely, there was no warm, bbq sauce provided as part of this. The chicken and pulled pork could definitely have used it. The meal did come with the requisite raw white onion, a few house made pickle slices, and two pieces of white bread. Thinking if you like that part of a barbeque meal, you should dine-in where they will give you more (I assume). So if you are willing to pay the price for genuine texas-style bbq, and don't care as much about the sides, this location of Jack's BBQ should be on the list of dine-in stops, when in Bellevue. read more

Came here for a work-related meetup and having already eaten I only settle for some light bites and drinks. There doesn't seem to be too many dedicated BBQ places in the area, and they seem to pride themselves being a central Texas authentic place BBQ'ing over post oak, mesquite and hickory. I got apps for the table including - hushpuppies, chips and queso and The Fried pickle jar. Buttermilk Hushpuppies were hot and filling. The honey butter it came with was great and was a favorite dipping choice over the queso sauce which actually wasn't all that great. Tried some of my friends al la carte brisket which was tender and had a smoked flavor. I'd have to come back here for a full meal, but the service was good, and they accommodated us well. It contained brisket, ribs, sausage, pulled pork, and chicken. You also receive four sides for that price. We chose cornbread, potato salad, the Texas Chili and the queso mac and cheese. I also ordered Texas caviar. Let's talk about the brisket. This was probably my favorite of everything. It was delicious with just the right amount of fat. The smoke ring was visible, the crust was flavorful and not too salty which can happen sometimes. The ribs were our next favorite. They were not super fall-off-the-bone tender but they were good. I think they were a little overcooked but the flavor was there. The pulled pork was average. This was not my favorite pulled pork by any means. it tasted fine but it was sort of blah. When you find someone who can actually smoke and barbecue chicken, please let me know. Jack's chicken is like everybody else's, super over dry. I chopped it up the next day and used it in a pasta chicken salad. The smoke flavor came through and I did like that but it was too dry. The sides were a massacre. Most places focus on the meat and miss the sides. Jack's is no exception. The cornbread was dry and crumbly with little flavor. The Texas Chili was okay but just okay. The queso mac and cheese tasted exactly like macaroni with a store-bought queso. The potato salad was pretty good but a little on the dryer side. Overall, we'd eat there again. This place was dynamite. I live in LA and we don't have a lot of good BBQ and I love to eat BBQ when I'm in Texas every year. We got ribs which were smoky and tasty. Brisket that was perfection. Smoky fatty and a big portion of I always like to get collard greens and these were great. Smoky, bitter and chunks of meat inside. I could eat a vat of them. Ha!
