I go here once a day for a fountain Diet Coke (I love their "pebble" ice). But I do not love the prices. Their large soft drink was $2.74 yesterday (which is highway robbery to begin with), but as of today the price has increased 11 cents to $2.85. Is everyone on crazy pills now? When the F did we all just decide that nearly three dollars for a fountain drink is OK? Don't get me wrong; the people at this location are friendly and professional and the service in the drive thru is always great, but I cannot rationalize spending $3 anymore for soft drink syrup and CO2 over ice. It costs PENNIES on the dollar to pour one of these drinks. I'm finished with fast food places and their expensive soft drinks and "value" meals that cost $6+. I swear I think they put the most annoyed/impatient person possible on drive thru. LOL Doesn't matter if you know what you want or how quickly you order, they're usually cutting you off in anticipation of the end of the sentence. I usually overlook it, but sometimes it's hard when they've gotten the order wrong, and you can only think they weren't really listening to the order. They are pretty good about having teenage workers, and a lot of times the drive thru team member seems about that age, so perhaps they will learn with experience. The food is alright for dinner; I'm not the greatest fan of the change to a potato bun or whatever it is that Jack's made in the last year or so. The "new" buns seem way too bready, and usually a bit dry; tends to overwhelm the burger. They make their milkshakes with real ice cream, so it's nice to have a hand-dipped shake instead of some mix-made shake at the competitors. Also, if you ever have the opportunity to try their blueberry fried pie when they're offered for a limited time--do it. Also pretty tasty. Their breakfasts are the real star at Jack's. At the drive thru I order a chocolate and cookies and cream milkshake. Got to the window and receive my milkshakes. Both were very runny (to much milk). I told the drive thru cashier I'll come in for this. When I walked into Jack's, I noticed a lady (employee) at the hand washing station blowing her nose and didn't was her hands. Ah Jack's What can I say - It's a cheapo breakfast . That's a necessary evil sometimes. This visit was pretty bad . The grits were too thin(grit soup), The hash browns were so greasy and tasted like old oil, the sausage was also greasy. They didn't let the meat drain nor the hash browns like they should have. They just immediately cooked it then served. The guys who were working this lovely morn didnt seem to know really what they were doing . (New employees) apparently . As soon as I pulled up and paid for my order, I was told to pull forward. I sat for 5 minutes waiting for my food and a big delivery truck pulled up right behind me and had to wait too. A Jack's employee came out and gave the guy in the truck his milkshake and then came to my car and said they did not have 2 apple pies and would I take an Apple pie and a strawberry pie. I said that was fine. She then told me to pull into the handicapped spot to continue waiting for my food because the delivery truck could not get out. I said no, I wasn't going to occupy a handicapped parking spot and I pulled over to the side. After 10 minutes waiting, I go inside to find out where my food was and a Jack's employee was coming towards the door with my food. I asked where my waters were. She hands over the food and goes back for the water. I get my 3 bottles of water; which are cumbersome with 2 bags of food. I go out to the car to check my food because I had ZERO confidence everything was right because of waiting so long! The burgers were smushed and packed in tight under the fries. As I tried to make sure everything was there, the fries dumped out in the bag because of the way all the food was packed in the bag. Guess what? They forgot the crispy chicken sandwich I ordered. I go BACK inside and tell them the chicken sandwich isn't in the bag. They acted surprised. They found the sandwich (still in a bag) sitting on the counter. Every employee I encountered acted like they could care less. All in all, it took over 15 minutes to get my food! This place is SO inconsistent. One day you go in and they are quick and accurate; the next time you go in, you have to wait over 15 minutes. Get it together Alabaster Jack's! I don't plan to go back anytime soon! read more

I am aware that drive through restaurants are short-staffed. And that 6pm is the busiest time of the day. But to wait 20 minutes , watch many other folks complete their drive-thru orders, and have to walk in to find out where my food is was too much. I've been to this Jack's location a couple times, but the last visit will definitely be my last. I rolled up to the drive thru the minute they opened. I work 12 hour shifts and have to be at work super early, so I stopped to grab some caffeine and a breakfast burrito. The person at the window was loudly (with her window and mine open) complaining about me rolling in as soon as they opened, and acted personally affronted that I had patronized their place of business before she had gotten good and awake. I had to meet someone and this place was convenient. After concluding business, I decided to drive through for milkshakes to take home. The person who made the first milkshake got milk all over the cup, so he stuck it under water, and some of the water got in the milkshake. He didn't dry off the cup before handing it to me. My double biscuit and gravy breakfast was disgusting. The eggs were like rubber and barley above room temperature, as were the biscuit gravy. The sliced tomatoes were cold and tasty and my Sprite was refreshing. The worst part is I took it back to the counter and spoke with a lady who appeared to be the manager. Since I have to eat here more than I like to say thanks to my 8 year old son who is obsessed over their breakfast menu......so....... They do have nice, freshly made fluffy biscuits. And yes, they are that good. Breakfast prices are super friendly and manageable for the family. If you want a platter of food, just order the breakfast platter, literally. Scrambled eggs, grits, biscuit, sausage and or bacon. Pancake plate is our favorite. 3 buttermilk pancakes with either bacon or sausage. They also have many biscuit combos to suit your taste buds and even their house made sausage gravy is out of this world. Nice location, clean and kept restaurant area. I've NEVER had good luck/service at the Alabaster Jack's. Never. Yesterday (Sunday) I went inside, ordering a Breakfast Special and Big Ham Breakfast Sandwich. There were four others in the lobby waiting on their food, also. Drive-Thru was moving briskly. The young man whom took the order kept telling us he was trying to get our food. TWELVE (12!) minutes later I was informed they were cooking my ham so I should rest assured it would be hot and fresh. Lady whom worked in the back (one of the mgrs?) asked what I was waiting on...told her BHBSandwich. She told young man whom took order she knows she prepared it. Seems someone from drive-thru group took mine, and no one had made another. Having looked at the receipt for the time of the order it was a full 17 minutes before my sandwich was ready, and then without the full ingredients (missing mayo). The Bkfast Special had been sitting in the bag ready to go for at least 10 mins. When I asked if we could have another, fresh one made, front line manager (I assume that's what she was) said sure, passed it back and had them throw it into the microwave. Needless to say, that meal sucked, also. We're pretty much done with this Jack's. Suspect it will go out of biz within a few months as other customers said they weren't going back, either. BTW, didn't get our receipt, either, so no way to let Jack's know the ticket number. read more

I went through the drive thru and ordered a three piece chicken dinner. Pulled around and paid and they ask me to pull up. I was the only one in drive thru but I pulled up. Waited 10 minutes so I went in. They had never started my order. Plenty of chicken cooked. Only two people in resturant. Still had to wait until they got my order together.when i looked only two pieces of chicken! A wing and a thigh. Told them I wanted a breast. They were very rude. Ordered two 3 piece chicken dinners at drive through at Alabaster location. When the young lady handed me the order, she said "two 3 piece dinners, right". I replied yes and thanked her. After arriving at home, discovered that we had two 2 piece dinners (paid for three piece). I called and asked to speak with the manager. I told her about the issue and she immediately became defensive of "her kids". I thought they were employees of Jack's and should be able to count to three. She was very rude and sarcastic. When I asked for her name, she hung up. I contacted the Birmingham Corporate office of Jack's via email. After three days, they have not responded. I guess they condone this type service and "management". Obviously will not be visiting ANY Jack's locations in the future. read more

Customer service was a disgrace, as I'm totally convinced that Alabaster's failed and most retarded residents work at this location. The cashier couldn't even count out the correct change, or remember to give a receipt because he was too concerned with what his coworker was getting out of her car in the parking lot. After parking and waiting for about 25 minutes, it was no surprise to find the food sitting on the counter and every single employee roaming the kitchen like they had no clue what to do next when I walked in.
