I had a great experience at Panda Express. I went in to redeem my birthday reward. It wasn't working in the app. When I went in they let me know that what I was ordering would be about 5 minutes. I'm glad that they let me know in advance. They communicated really well in regards to my coupon issues and with my food. They even let me sample an item after I had ordered. read more

One of my favorite light meals is a bowl with super greens. I have tried the Mushroom Chicken which balances well with just straight super greens. I have also gotten the Broccoli Beef with the super greens, but maybe reserve that for days when you really want some veggies. I really do love the chow mein, but when I "try to eat healthy," super greens is the way to go. Under 100 calories and low in carbs, makes it easy to feel full without the added hesitation carbs, fat, calories, etc. Add two spring rolls, and you've got a filling meal. read more

Ok , fast food Chinese food. What was I expecting? I didn't have high expectations but the service was nice and the food was decent. Nice presentation of the food as you go through the line to order. I had the mushroom chicken with fried rice bowl to go. The rice had like a greasy consistency but the chicken was tasty. This meal was much appreciated after being out in the heat all day at a band competition. I did like the portions they served but I had way more fried rice than chicken. I would eat Panda Express again because overall the experience was good. I will add that my sister really LOVES this place! read more

I recently came to the Alabaster location to pick up dinner, as I did not feel like cooking today. I was disappointed and surprised at the presentation of the food on the hot bar. The food looked old and not fresh at all. When I asked the young lady if they could cook some fresh fried rice and teriyaki chicken she seemed hesitant to do so. I left without placing an order to visit another. **UPDATED REVIEW** I decided to give this restaurant another try and was very pleased with my experience. My server/cashier was Donald and he was very pleasant! The food was very fresh looking and appealing. This is the worst restaurant in Alabaster. They have something as simple as white rice. We ordered online they didn't have everything, they brought us wrong order, then when they took it back behind counter to look at still brought us wrong order. Food usually tastes ok if they have it, but for the cost, problems, and poor service I would drive to Hoover and go to Hunan Garden or spend a little more and hot Mizu in the other part of the same shopping center. I have always loved Panda but this is unquestionably the worst location I have ever been too, and nothing is changing. Today, August 7, 2022. I ordered 2 half fried, black pepper chicken and the black angus steak which I had to pay $1.60 more for. Also, I ordered the spring rolls and they were cold. My 2 orders of cheese Rangoon wasn't just cold but hard and very crispy like it had been sitting out for a while. I'm very disappointed with my order. Also, the black pepper steak I paid extra for was only 3 or 4 piece's of meat the rest were vegetables. that's it. They added so many mushrooms and a dark green vegetable to it that makes it seem like you have steak but you don't. I took pictures so you can see exactly what I receive. However, I didn't realize it until I started looking for my meat otherwise I would have ask for a refund just like asked for cheese Rangoon. Plus, I called and talk to the young lady there and told her to put light soy sauce in my fried rice because I didn't want it white but as you can see from my pictures she didn't do it. Even keeping in mind all of the precautions and protocols for COVID-19, this panda express continues to underwhelm. For the second order in a row, they screwed it up. Pardon the slang... but screwed it up really fits here. And don't waste your time putting in notes about your order. Not only do they not get your basic order correct, those notes would have been more productive flung out among the Internet at random. Had they given me the wrong order of some thing that didn't cost less than what I ordered, or had it tasted better than just "meh", we might've seen a second star here. Instead they served us something that tasted like we warmed it up next day from the fridge. Someone should really sell it or change it or close it. read more

What I really like about this place is that it is consistent and very clean. You know that sometimes when in the mood for Chinese food, you wonder about the cleanliness of the restaurant. That is not a problem with Panda Express. Food is fresh, hot and good. There is a considerable variety. Service is fast and friendly. While this does not serve culinary masterpieces, it is a good alternative to burgers and fried chicken. read more

Let me start by saying that the food is usually good once you get it, but nothing is EVER ready at this location. You always have to wait at least 5-10 minutes for your food. Very rarely do I get it right away. I understand that sometimes certain more popular dishes run out before more is cooked, but this is ALL THE TIME at this location. Today I ordered in the drive thru at 11am. I was told there would be a 7 minute wait for the sweet fire chicken, and to pull around and someone would bring it out. TWENTY minutes later I had to go inside. They had forgotten about my order. There was a huge pan of sweet fire chicken. Brand new restaurant, food was good. Of course long waits for the first few months. Prices are. Little steep prices for the quantity of food you receive but never the less it's still pretty tasty. If you have a large vehicle be careful because the drive thru lane only seems 3 foot wide. Several people have already taken out the retaining wall since its been open. read more

We were greeted when we walked in the door, they were low on chow mein so Maria brought out a big plate of it when they were finished cooking it and we were thanked for visiting when we lift. At 10:45 they asked to take our order and we started ordering. They stopped us and said they had just opened and only had 2 entrees and one side ready to serve- none of which we were ordering. Let me say that I normally wouldn't review a chain but this Panda Express surprised the heck out of me! Orange chicken and walnut shrimp were perfectly breaded, cooked, and glazed. The rice and chow mein were also better than expected. Hands down the best P.E. In the country. Also, a big shout out to Jenn who served us. She was busting her tail dishing plates, manning the register, assisting with the drive-thru, cleaning tables, and following up with customers asking how their meal was. Slow, slow, slow, and slow. I have given this place three chances and they struck out all three. I have never received what I ordered. They basically just give you what they feel like giving you and it's likely not going to be what you ordered. The lo-mein is always burnt and the portions are little. The food is typically cold, as well. If you are this bad in the first six months of business you really have no hope for lasting. I've contacted their corporate office three times and have never received any acknowledgement from them. Skip Panda and go to Hunan 2, down the road. read more

The food tastes pretty good, but the service is absolutely AWFUL. They've been open long enough to have it together. Last time we went inside, they ignored us in line and focused on the busier to-go orders. Our food was cold by the time we got it because it sat on the counter so long. Tonight was the last straw. They weren't as busy but still ignored my husband in the drive through and when they finally got on the speaker to take his order, they were out of what we originally wanted. Waiting 30 minutes for food that is supposedly already cooked and in heating trays is ridiculous. It was so bad that cars behind him in the drive-thru ended up leaving. He only stayed because he had already paid, but he ended up having to go inside anyway to get the food. Overall, the staff was unfriendly and rude. Won't be returning. read more

I found the staff inattentive and distracted. I ordered the two entree w/side. They were making more of one of my sides and promised to bring the other to my table. They forgot and I decided to take it home. When I approached the cashier I politely asked to have it to go. The cashier got an attitude with me; like it was my fault. She shoved the entree into a container and handed it to me. When I asked for a bag she held up her finger as to say wait because now she's taking a drive-thru order on her headset. 1. She should have placed my container in a bag before giving it to me. 2. I think I had waited long enough. We sat in the drive thru for thirty minutes before even getting to the order box. We would have left but we were trapped by the car behind us. There were three cars in front of us. When we arrived at the order box we sat and waited again while they cleared the line. She then informed us that it would be a minimum of seven minutes wait for the orange chicken. Clearly not being trained on operational efficiencies. Food is always good, but portions also pale in comparison to other Pandas. The food is here tasty but the wait time can be extremely awful. Every time I've gone through the drive-thru it's been about a 20-45 minute wait. We're either waiting on more food to be cooked or something else. They try to make it right by giving away a free egg roll or drink of choice. I suggest going in before the lunch/dinner time rush. Also the drive-thru layout is awful, if you have a huge SUV or truck, leaving the drive-thru can get a bit tight. read more
