I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Jackpot Bistro has a ton of gluten free items and so close to home. I usually have to go into Portland for a really good meal. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips and the cod sandwich. We absolutely loved our meals and especially liked the fries and smashed peas. We will be eating here often. The Kobe burger is incredible. The fries are terrible. Luckily you'll be so full from the burger, the fries are irrelevant.

Very entertaining atmosphere with great food and staff. A must try is the club sandwich which is large enough for two people to share. Got a Kobe burger here.. Was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. The host/waitress was friendly enough but loudly lamented about the day not being over to the cook. Several times. The cook had an order preceding mine. He threw down my burger patty on the grill then did a bunch of stuff for another order, all without washing his hands or sanitizing his station. I was really hungry and felt daring so i didnt walk out. My Kobe burger was cooked quite beyond medium well - to the point it was actually dry. So very dry... The ranch I got for my fries went straight on that burger.. Which came with a single transparent sliver of onion, a slice of lettuce, and about six drops of mayo (I got no tomato). Had to pay an extra $.50 for a cheese slice. This burger screamed for pickles, but there are none. The fries were technically superb... But that wasn't enough to justify dropping $20 here on a burger ever again. read more

I can't express enough how much I love this place. From the excellent customer service to the 5 star food to the amazing drinks. I discovered this place about 3 months ago and I haven't been disappointed yet. The bartenders and owner treat you like extended family. I make it an effort to tell everyone about this place. At first I thought the food was a little pricey, but holey cow is it worth every penny. So far everything I've eaten there has been to die for. Pretty much everything is homemade. Our first time at Jackpot Bistro!! We are not disappointed!! We were welcomed with a friendly hello by our server/bartender Derek. The Jameson Green tea is the best drink I've had in a long time!! Went to this place for the first time Saturday night. Been wanting to check it out for a while after seeing the menu. Had the ahi appetizer and it was fantastic. Also had the red sangria, very tasty. Wow. Just, wow. Jackpot is small, friendly, and has, (wait for it...) ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL FOOD! This little place is a godsend for Gresham, which has, up to now, been a vacuum for any kind of decent food. First, everything is house made with two caveats 1) bread and 2) dessert. Literally everything else is is the true meaning of housemade. They have everything from lots of burger selections (think Kobe burger with house cut fries that are out of this world) Salads (usual selections, but all with top quality meats, cheeses and greens. Their Reuben is made with corned beef and sauerkraut which are both made on site, Where Jackpot truly shines with with their creative, value dense entrees. We had the cod with salmon Oscar, served with asparagus and over cauliflower rice. Outstanding. We also had the poblano chicken corn chowder and tempura asparagus. Everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful and well presented. Physically, they're small, with a bar, tables, and small gambling area, but the coup de taut is the food service area, gambling is almost an afterthought...but, its there if you get the bug. Drink prices are the bomb! $2.50 for well and $3.50 for craft draft/bottle, however, these prices might go up by .50 in the next few months because their suppliers are raising prices. Entrees do not seem to go higher than about $19, with the majority staying in the $13-$17 range. Do not be fooled into thinking that this is a gambling place. Their food is ALL housemade (see above) and can compete with all of the better/best eateries in Portland within this price point. my hubby and I cannot wait to go back and try more things on the menu. We have been coming here at least once a week for about a month and we LOVE it, casual and comfortable with friendly service and Amazing food. Everything on the menu is made with love from scratch. Food made to order not pulled out of a freezer and stuck in a fryer...it takes a little longer but, it's so worth it. The beef stroganoff is great and they even have duck confit if your adventurous....so tender it melts on your tongue. If you have never had a Kobe beef burger....you won't be disappointed!! Eggs Benedict, Jackpot Breakfast and even a build your own omelette...Give them a try, don't rush through the meal, take time to savor Amazing, fresh ingredients and food made with love everyday. What a great find this week as we were visiting the area! The gluten free menu is fairly extensive. The gluten-free fish and chips was perfectly done and the breading was much lighter than most regular dips. The club sandwich, also gluten free, was absolutely huge! Yeah this food is good. Environment isn't good so they can't have 5 stars for that. It's a lotto place like the name suggests. A lot of gluten free options and they know their way around what is and is not gluten free so I'm confident their food is not contaminated. That goes a long way. The fries are breaded with gluten free stuff and it makes them crunchy and delicious. I would go back. Just wish my family and I could eat here and it didn't have to be take out every time.
