Since then, I've hit it up again a few times already. Ordering using the app is recommended because you can customize to your heart's desire. My husband can't have whey protein, so I'll swap that out for either the vanilla or chocolate plant protein. Also, Playa Bowl has a good variety of milk alternatives - oat, almond, cashew, and coconut (I haven't come across cashew milk often). My go-to orders are a Playola Cold Brew or an Oatmeal Bowl. I like getting the oatmeal bowls because I don't eat oatmeal frequently enough to warrant buying a whole cannister of steel cut oats from the grocery store, which will then just get stale in the pantry at home. Plus I like the toppings of each of the three variants they have (there's also a fourth option of a custom oatmeal bowl). I get their cold brew when I'm in the mood for chicory coffee.

My order consists of avocado (which really fits the shake well, not slimy, easy to imbibe, even considering scenting avocado about a day or so after, not a nauseous addition), mint (a medium-strong addition which balances the other ingredients well, stomach and throat soothing, if one will), cranberry juice (a really good carrier for the mixture), spinach (super subtle flavor, though a healthy choice addition), Goji Berry (a healthy choice option, mainly because I don't normally seek the item on a grocery store run), and a scoop of Vegan protein (such a healthful addition after the gym). If not for a sign containing so many super-flavorful-healthy-looking options, I might not even know the juicerie exists. Coming across the sign after a wonderful workout, super ready to healthfully consume well, I decide to check out the establishment. The establishment seems to carry fresh ingredients. There is a seating area outside of the establishment (which is really like a chill kitchen area for staff, think drive-thru window, on foot, on the second floor of an office building). My order is really satisfying, really tasty, and definitely complements well all of that which I healthfully consume well upon arriving to my living quarters. The TV playing a PBS program is from 2003, but it's more about the food right? Good selection of menu items, from salads to soups sandwiches and smoothies. Pricing is based on weight of the salad, so I was a little taken aback that two salads (add avocado), and two seltzer's were just short of $30. The place is nestled in the plaza close a bookstore, coffee shop, and several delis of varying flavors. So they do have some competition and without any outdoor seating available I think it's a rough time for them. However, right across the way is a little park with benches and a few tables, so you can sit and eat safely. I imagine they handle a lot of delivery and takeaway orders. Bottom line is the food is fresh, flavorful, and I'll be back for a good salad.

It's cozy, genuine, and the kind of place where you can tell there's a lot of love going into what comes out of the kitchen. And speaking of that kitchen--you can see it from pretty much every seat in the house. Watching several cooks navigate what looks like an incredibly tiny space is almost mesmerizing. Somehow, they move around each other seamlessly, and the best part? The food comes out FAST. My wife went with the hummus, and it was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. But the surprise star on the side was the salted dried kale chip--such a simple little addition, but ridiculously good. Then came my pancakes. Out of this world. Small in diameter, but super thick, with a beautifully crispy exterior giving way to an interior that was fluffy, light, and airy. I've tried making this style of pancake at home countless times, and I still have absolutely no idea how to get that texture. The syrup and berries were the perfect finishing touches.
