And I've eaten & sampled my fair share. When I expressed I'm from LA and would drive all the way to Compton for the OG Bludso's BBQ & Brisket and Ribs with my BF, Auntie V's face lit up and says "I know it very well...and Darly is from Compton." When I told Uncle D, he expressed he knows Kevin Bludso personally...so I already knew I was in for a major brisket treat. After devouring my Sando in record time -- though I slowed down towards the end -- because I did not want it to end. I told my wife "I could eat 2 more of these." And speaking of which -- wifey's not too keen on BBQ like her hubby but can appreciate a great piece of quality meat. She took one bite (right smack in the middle -- which I suggested because it's the best bite :) and her response? "Oh my god...I could eat one of these." I've never heard her say that about BBQ Brisket. What makes Uncle D's Brisket so special? It's smoked & cooked overnight in a smoke-pit ~~ seasoned to perfection ~~ not fatty nor salty one bit...and don't get me started on the BBQ sauce that's not too thick & not too thin ~~ not too sweet & not too tangy ~~ it's simply perfection. Then I told him "this section should be labeled: "The Art of Brisket" and D smiled at me so wide I can still see his happy face. Wifey had some of their Mac & Cheese and thought the noodles were cooked perfectly, it wasn't too cheesy & oily...and loved that it wasn't too salty. I took a bite and 2nd her notion. Definite one and done for me. Not sure how they have almost 5000 mostly positive reviews. Maybe people in Indio have different taste buds? Who knows. I shall not return. Meh.
