Small place with a patio and good smash burgers. Had happy hour here with a group of coworkers and had a fun time. Located next to Anheuser-Busch brewery, I love the Soulard neighborhood and have been coming to it forever but my first time at Jack Nolen's. Everyone one was having their burgers and there was a line for ordering for quite a while. Pics included

First time here coming from White Cone, AZ.

Cheese smash burger was 10/10!!! Even my 4 year old daughter loved it!!! I strongly recommend. Checken tenders ...sorry but 1/10. My daughter ate one bite and refused to eat anymore, so I tried it..and yeah...nope. French fries were 6/10. Vibes & service 10/10. Warm beer 5/10. Bartender just changed the barrelll...I'm sure its a 10/10 daily. I bought a size large t-shirt for my husband and the fit, color and size fit him perfectly!!! He's 6'2 and like 200lbs. Looks sexy in it! Haha! Buy a shirt!

Like seriously jack nolens .. stopped in for lunch only to get back to work and saw burnt bacon .. typically jack nolens does right but this.... Why would yall do a customer like this??? I'm always for supporting small businesses and have been here a few times but today was definitely a let down

A lot of places try to do burgers, and most fall flat. Not Jack Nolen's. The flavor of the meat itself is what sets this apart from the rest. Add fresh toppings, bun, and crispy salty fries, and you have near perfection. Only miss for me was the cucumber salad, but as my boyfriend said, "I can't believe you're ordering salad at a bar." The place was packed on a Friday at lunch and the service was quick and friendly.

All I can say is DAMN that is a good burger!!!! Best smash burger in St. Louis! Budweiser on tap and blutine fries! Service is amazing!

Incredibly delicious burgers!!! Hands down my favorite burger in STL! Perfectly seasoned juicy smash burgers with crispy edges. The menu is simple, but the ingredients fresh and the execution is spot on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small, cozy bar with a great patio - the kind of neighborhood spot where you grab a drink, have an amazing burger, and end up staying all afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is welcoming and genuinely friendly!

First time in. More bar than restaurant. We took a seat at the bar after a suggestion from a parting guest. Krysten was alone on a fairly busy Friday but she was great, even though I asked a lot of questions If you sit at the bar you can order food otherwise you order at the end of the bar and get a number I got a single with no cheese, lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion. Fries. First time came out wrong, second time was a charm. Burger was great, fries were hot and crispy. Drinks were reasonable. Spicy Bloody Mary was $7. Large glass. Pretty good. Overall, great service. Krysten was attentive, funny, and fun. Drinks were good. Burger and fries good.

Reviewed experience at establishment around being charged $10 tip and not 10%. The owner wrote on my pic from a burner page saying bad reviews are bad for business and I should review my receipt. Uploaded a pic from purchase and 10 minutes later, same burner account was writing me saying she's Kristin the manager and wanted to fix this. Wrote her back and got no reply. Maybe they will treat other patrons better and won't charge $10 tips on a burger but I doubt I'll be back or recommend them.

One of the best burger places in the area! We stopped here before doing a tour at Anheuser which is right around the corner! I got a single cheese burger with all the toppings and house made sauce on the side as well as an order of the CBGB fries! I loved everything, the fries are a generous amount and was perfect to split between 2 people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very laid back place, seating inside is limited but they have a pretty decent size patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great spot for a consistently tasty smashburger! I always like their Style Sauce on mine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating inside is pretty limited, but they have a nice patio with plenty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food came to our table in about 15 minutes or so after we ordered at the counter.

Tried Jack Nolen's for the first time and I'm just upset I didn't try it sooner. It wasn't too busy, we got a table right away and ordered at the bar. They have a nice patio out back and tvs inside for sports, which was appreciated. I'm a cheese fry fanatic and heard these were great. I did a single smash burger and then we got the CBGB fries (beer pub cheese, bacon, grilled onions) No notes, everything was perfect. Plus, prices are great! If you haven't been, GO!

Ended up with the Denial and Error made with Strawberry Infused Cambio Blanco Tequila, Black Sesame-Miso Syrup, Lime, and Chocolate Walnut Bitters. So different but so good as is always the case! I loved how the miso and sesame came through. My other pick was what my daughter was going to get so I got to try that, too! The So Hip It's Outta Sight made with Blanco Tequila, Green Chile Vodka, Creole Shrubb, Cranberry-Sage Syrup, and Lime. It was sweet and good. I would order either of them again. We arrived late on Sunday, around 9:00 PM and they closed at 10:00 not realizing till we were in and seated that no one else was there, we must have passed the last person that came out as we were coming in. The vibe is classic, elevated, and gives true cocktail lounge energy -- not loud or chaotic, just intentional and well put together. Now let's talk about what we came for: the drinks. We ordered the Old Fashioned flight, and when I say they did not come to play... they did not come to play. Each one was crafted differently, and you can tell there's real skill behind the bar. These are not bartenders -- these are mixologists. Every drink was balanced, strong (in a good way), and thoughtfully made. Quick tip: If you plan on getting the Old Fashioned flight, make this your last stop of the night... because you will feel it. Service was great, drinks came out in a timely manner, and the overall experience felt elevated from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for a true cocktail experience in St. Louis.

I have to agree it was quite delicious, very well balanced and a nice refreshing summer drink. We shared 3 apps: grilled summer squash, sourdough focaccia, and pork belly skewers. The first two were really good and highly recommend. Such a nice mix of fresh summer flavors in the squash dish and really enjoyed the romesco butter that came with the bread. For me I could have liked the pork belly more crispy as it was fairly soft in texture not that crunch I like in pork belly dishes but others at our table really enjoyed it. Moving to entrees, I got the lobster donut roll, others at table got the crab pasta and shrimp puttanesca. I just had to try to lobster donut roll but my expectations weren't high as sounds kind of gimmicky and it really wasn't for me the lobster is served cold (Maine style) and I found it to be pretty fishy in taste for my liking. The fries I ordered with it on the other hand were very delicious nice savory flavor and perfectly crispy. From all the plates we got it seemed the crab pasta was the way to go a bit of an elevated Mac and cheese (more sophisticated than that) next time I'd order that. Service was good they paced our food well and were around when we needed something. Modern Instagram worthy ambience. All round good experience!

The nod to the sea in the decor feels whimsical, light, and airy. My food was good! I thought my cocktail was a little off-balanced. There was a pistachio foam on top that just tasted sweet to me. And a tequila drink underneath that was bright, but also a little sweet. My crab pasta was filling and comforting, thought the past was a bit overcooked/yummy and the flavors didn't entirely work together for me. I would get a tiny bite sweet sun dried tomato, then a hint of lemon peel, then a big ol' lump of crab and breadcrumb, but it all felt like separate experiences. Definitely would visit again though and try something else as everyone's food looked great! And I was absolutely satisfied by the end of dinner.

I'm a big fan of rye and I found this drink very refreshing. I am a cocktail snob, I enjoy a well made cocktail. Being a snob, I want a mixologist that prepares a masterful cocktail. Enjoying my cocktail and watching the gentleman working behind the bar, I can honestly say, he is a masterful bartender. This visit, I did not order any food items. However, seeing the food severed around me, I'll definitely be back to enjoy to enjoy some Crab Stuffed Mushrooms or a Crab Cake Sandwich. The inside of the bar is compact. In addition to the bar sitting, there's a row of booths along the wall. Beyond the barroom, is a backroom that's is pretty comfy and classy, too. The space is a bit dark with rich sage, brass, and terracotta. There are several hanging plants making it an inviting place. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating and cozy tables if you decide to bring some friends. Caleb was our server during our visit. He was an absolute delight. He made excellent cocktail suggestions. He looked after our group without being overly doting. Just a gem of a human. We tried approximately 9 cocktails during our visit. Did I mention we were at brunch! I highly recommend the peach bite and the Side Car. Every cocktail is thoughtfully made and well executed. They offer a small brunch menu along with the regular menu. I usually always get chilaquiles when they are available. But today the ruby trout and grits sounded perfect. This dish was amazing!! The trout was thin with crispy skin. The grits were creamy and delicious. The dish is topped with a house made radish pico and salsa macha. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was paired with the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The burger and fries are also a good option. The seasoning on the fries is next level. The brunch menu has a sticky toffee roll that is a perfect size for sharing or not. Salty sweet fork tender cinnamon roll. Lastly, the deviled eggs were a group favorite. I am a big fan of Passenger Chili Crisp. If you are unfamiliar please look them up! It's hands down the best chili crisp I've ever had. It's locally made here in STL and can also be found in several dishes at restaurants around town. The eggs were creamy with the right amount of tang from the mustard.
