One of my favorites in Austin-- no lie! We came in for an early dinner (about 3:30pm) on Mother's Day. I came with my 2 yr old and my husband. Our server, Terrence, was super friendly and attentive. The one thing we always get, without fail, are the Chicken Nachitos. I have never experienced nacho heaven like this before. They don't have your typical ingredients, but instead pickled peppers and carrots, cotija cheese (white Mexican cheese), black beans and shredded chicken. I feel like I could eat the whole thing as a meal but we always get it as an appetizer. This last time I also tried the Ruby Grilled Trout. It had great flavor- but I am not a huge fan of wilted spinach. I still enjoyed it though. I was actually too full to eat it all after the Nachitos so I took it home (and forgot to snap a picture). My absolute go to in the past has been the fish tacos and I can say after this visit that I will probably stick with the fish tacos. Had several meals here in the past but brunch today was underwhelming. Avocado toast should have been called toast with an undercooked egg. Avocado was barely evident. Wife's migas were ok but tortillas were over cooked and charred and the veggies were barely sautéd. Couldn't keep coffee fresh and we constantly had to ask for refills. Jack Allen's, never disappoints. From the second you step in the door, we are greeted and seated. Waitstaff is immediately greeting and introducing herself to us. We order the JA Mexican martini, and the pomegranate sangria (my favorite). Our entrees were the fish tacos and the barbacoa enchiladas, both entrees were packed with flavor, delicious!! Jack Allen's Kitchen 360 is quite possibly my new favorite brunch spot in Austin, after just one visit. Jack's is surrounded by the beautiful Lakeside community amongst Austin's rolling hills and picturesque scenery. I came here with two friends for brunch after attending Easter mass at Riverbend Church. I'd heard great things about Jack Allen's but had no idea just how good their brunch was. We ordered the Roasted Ribeye & Sage Hash, Barbacoa Eggs Benedict*, and the Dee Dee's Short Stack (French Toast). All of it was fantastic but I'd have to say the star of the show was the Eggs Benedict!! It came with fried green tomatoes, slow roasted barbacoa, crispy potatoes, poached farm eggs, smoky chipotle hollandaise, and smashed breakfast potatoes. It was honestly the most decadent eggs benny I've had in a long time and this is coming from someone very accustomed to sensational brunches (having formerly lived in San Diego for 10+ years). It was rich and delicious, the barbacoa was unreal with how tender and juicy it was. The chipotle hollandaise perfectly complimented the meal and the fried green tomatoes were the cherry on top. Everyone else truly enjoyed their meals but I was so completely impressed by the eggs benedict, I have to come back for this. I hear this restaurant has a sensational lunch and dinner menu as well so I'm excited to come back sometime. Jack Allen's Kitchen is situated off of Loop 360 just south of the Pennybacker Bridge (360 Bridge) and this day I was here for a business luncheon. We had reservations and the restaurant made sure everything was setup for us. We could order anything off the menu where some others have a group fixed menu. I have been to the Jack Allen's in Oak Hill so many times I practically eaten everything off the menu. The menu here is the same so was recommending choices to some of my fellow colleagues. I ordered the 5 Cheese Macaroni and Chicken. Our server was very nice. This location has a little different layout and seemed a bit smaller than the Oak Hill location. I did not see outdoor patio with its own bar. Once our food arrived everyone was pleased and started to taste their meal. My food was excellent as always and the macaroni filled me up nicely. The cheese was not overwhelming and the chicken was very tasty. When can I go back again? I so ready to go back for more. I highly recommend visiting this location as well as the Round Rock, TX location. Brought friends and family on this visit and we really enjoyed it. Service: I an excellent waiter at the time of service. They were willing to provide suggestions, help my family and friends with the menu, continue refill drinks without being asked, and presented everything with a smile. Staff was helping each other and during downtime, I noticed staff was helping each other with cleaning and make sure tables were being organized for the next guest. Customer service was definitely being utilized and felt like family while there. Food: Delicious!! Again, I must say "Delicious!" All items that were served was delicious. I recommend the Rainbow Trout and the Mac-N-Cheese. One of the two best items on the menu with others to follow. In addition, they have specials on their desserts and if I could eat the whole dessert menu I would. I can't remember what my dessert was called but it was full of deliciousness. Went there with a group of five other people for Easter Sunday. We had a reservation and were fortunate to be seated on the covered porch in back at a round table. Service was quick, friendly, and unpretentious, and I thought the food and drink were reasonably priced, though it can be expensive depending on what you get. The mimosas were excellent and I enjoyed the grilled ruby trout dish. The portion was just right, not too skimpy or too excessive. Several people in my group, including me, had special requests for orders and were cheerfully accommodated. Even though it was crowded, the noise level wasn't too bad. It's a good place for a large group to meet and I would definitely go again. Only complaints: I wish they had more vegetarian options for the brunch items. One friend's drink order was different and for some reason it took longer for her to get it. It seems like they could all have been served at the same time, as none of them were complicated. We were served pimento cheese and crackers as a complimentary appetizer, but everyone got only one cracker, which seemed silly. A few more crackers would go a long way to make the appetizer a more impressive start to the meal. read more

We went to jack allens for lunch and I was quite impressed with this place. Food: A+ I ordered their veggie sandwich and mixed fries (sweet + regular) both of which were on point. Don't forget to ask for their house made hot sauces (orange one was habanero and other was green) both of which were on point. Ambience and service: A+ The service was amazing and the waiter for our table was very thoughtful. I also really loved the Ambience. Jack Allen's NEVER disappoints. By far one of the best restaurants in all of the Austin area. The pimento cheese was soooo good I could have it as a meal. The brunch specials were super reasonable. My only "complaint" which I don't consider a complaint because I am not sure if our server was new or not - was her lack of menu/drink knowledge. I am not sure if we caught her on a busy day or if I was just asking to many questions but she left out a lot of information. Again, we went on a busy Sunday for brunch and we are in a pandemic. Jack Allen's Kitchen never disappoints! While their regular menu has some tasty options, their specials are where it's at. Last night they had some pork tenderloin Boursin cheese bites topped with some sort of strawberry and tomato salsa. All the flavors sang a symphony in my mouth! I ordered one the specials which was a bone-in pork chop topped with onion strings, walnuts, bleu cheese crumbles, a sweet-tangy glaze and served on top of some yummy garlic mashed potatoes. There was nothing left on my plate and if it was socially acceptable, I would have licked it clean. My friend ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside) served with a sauce that was kind of sweet and had a decent kick of spice on the backend. The dumplings were so full of flavor and paired well with the dipping sauce. I couldn't pick a favorite as they were both equally amazing dishes on their own. Jared was our server and he was great! The service is always top notch and if it's not, they make it right. You don't find that a lot these days. A casual, a touch up-scale and relaxed atmosphere. One of my favorite hosting tricks is to order apps and sides from Jack Allen's and then put them in pretty dishes at home. From there I just toss some proteins on the grill. It's a great entertaining hack if you don't want to spend all day in the kitchen. read more

There are so many good dining options in the Austin area, Jack Allen's kept coming up as an affordable and good place so we decided to try it out. It was a nice drive from downtown Austin to here where you see some of the Hill country. It was only about 15 mins or so from downtown. They have both patio and indoor seating as you would expect. The decor is really neat, sort of bringing the outdoors indoors. We were immediately seated and got our drink order quickly and then had time to look over the menu. They give you complimentary pimiento cheese and crackers which is a great combination. Just enough to whet your appetite. We decided to try their Smoked Beef Rib Quesadilla's as appetizer. It was incredibly good, the beef rib meat was so tender and flavorful and just enough smoky flavor. Even the tortilla was really good. They have quite a few options on the menu, I was hungry for a steak and ordered their NY Strip steak, I requested it cooked medium-rare and it was cooked perfectly. It comes with pimiento cheese potato gratin (seeing the pattern here?) which was also so good. I wasn't going to eat it all but I just couldn't stop myself. The seasoning seemed to be mostly salt and pepper, it was grilled so perfectly nothing else was necessary. To top it off we ordered the pineapple upside down cake, we shared across three people and that was more than enough. It was served warm and it was so juicy and moist. The best pineapple upside down cake I've had for sure. The service was really good throughout as well. This was a really nice dining experience, we will definitely look them up next time we're in the Austin area again. read more

I've been a long-time fan of Jack Allen's for more than a decade and have supported his original locations. But I took my parents to this location on Sunday and regret it. We had the rudest server who seemed angry at us as soon as we sat down. When ordering burgers directly off the menu, he made many condescending remarks as he inquired how we wanted it prepared. Even simply ordering our drinks created an awkward interaction. We would have already left, but it was the only restaurant in the area that didn't have a long wait. The food itself wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular like prior meals here. One meal was undercooked, but they quickly addressed it. My mom couldn't eat the onion rings because they were so greasy. I'm sure it was a bad day for this location, but I'll likely hold off going to another Jack Allen's for a while since there are many other options that provide friendlier service. read more
