This has always been one of my favorite places to go growing up down there and was a treat to hen we did go. I still make the 2hr trek from Ventura and go here once in awhile. After I heard they closed the Bellflower location I made it a point on 9/5/2026 to the Downey location. It was packed and they had a wait which I (Myself) was happy to see, I waited about 10 or 15 minutes and ordered the baby back ribs - Hawaiian style along with the Hawaiian style chicken with a salad, BBQ beans, and bread. It did not disappoint! 5 for me! Keep in mind this location is one of the original if not thee 1st one to open. It has a ambiance feeling when in there = Landmark. Chris & Pitts' Downey location has been operating since 1949, the year the chain was founded. All available records point to the Downey restaurant being one of the original early locations that remained open continuously while other branches closed over the decades. What a Gem! I almost forgot, the service was excellent too.

From the moment we walked in, the host was very friendly and welcoming. Our server, Natasha, was awesome! Her recommendations were spot on, and I'm so glad we went with all of her suggestions. We started with the queso fundido and birria empanadas, and both were delicious. For our main dishes, we had the chicken enchiladas and aguachiles, which were also great. For drinks, we had the Smoked Old Fashioned and the Diosa & Co. The presentation was easily a 10/10, and the drinks tasted just as good as they looked. Overall, I can't say enough good things about our experience. Natasha was very attentive throughout the entire night--we never once had to look around for her or wait to get her attention. Great food, great drinks, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service. We'll definitely be coming back, and hopefully we get Natasha as our server again

First off, I have no idea why this place doesn't have a solid 5 rating. Everything was perfect…read more Thank you to Lacy who took amazing care of us! (I loved how they had a sign on the table with our waitresses name on it. I love when places do this) This place is absolutely gorgeous inside. I love the color scheme, it's very girly, VERY clean, loved the lighting and love the vibe. So it's safe to say 5 stars for atmosphere. -They accept reservations -They have a private parking lot -They also offer Valet parking Checking in was easy, the hostess was extremely nice. We wanted to sit in the bar area and she told us to seat ourselves. We picked a nice round booth right by the bar (They have happy hour every day) 3-6 and then Sunday is all day We started off with -Happy hour margarita (they offer a few flavors and the drink is huge) -Tulum Tulum not on HH -diosa & co (highly recommend!!!! Tasted amazing and had a beautiful presentation) not on HH We put in Chips and salsa Birria nachos -HH Street corn -HH Quesadilla with meat -HH And our second round (not on happy hour) -OCTOPUS ZARANDEADO gf tender poached, grilled octopus, saffron aioli, serrano-mint chimichurri, asparagus, roasted fingerling potatoes, tomatillo wedges, shaved radish -Rich B**ch Filthy rich in flavor; classy and elegant in demeanor. Coconut Rum, fresh mint, fresh lime juice, raspberry & coconut flavors interwined and finished with mint syrup -Coco Chanel Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside. Blanco tequila, coconut foam, strawberry puree, coconut cream, fresh lime juice. And then they brought out such a fun birthday presentation!!! I picked this place to go out with some of my girlfriends for one of my birthday dinners. And let me tell you, places just don't celebrate you on your special day anymore. You are lucky if you get a happy birthday from the manager. The birthday presentation they brought out was absolutely amazing. It was fun, it was visually stunning and who doesn't want a shot on your birthday? Lol This place was absolutely perfect for a birthday dinner. I already can't wait to come back again with more of my girlfriends for some cocktails and loved their food selection on the happy hour menu 5 stars for service 5 stars for drinks 5 stars for food 5 stars for atmosphere

My sister took me to Clearman's today and I had a phenomenal experience. The place is very historic…read moreand gives old school but modern dining. It's very dark inside but I like it. I love the ambiance and decor of the water fountain in the main dining room. It's set up with menus already on the table in big font which is good!!! They have really good lunch, drinks, and dinner menus with great prices. I ordered the grilled salmon with salad and baked potatoe, and subbed my onion rings for broccoli. Everything was amazing!!! My food was so good and made fresh. I also like how they put the salad dressings on the table and baked potatoes sides so you can get what you want. They also make a mean homemade sour cream that is scrumptious!!! The presentation for the lobster and baked potato is impressive!! I was definitely intrigued!! FYI: they also give you unlimited salad !! You love chocolate cake? Well this is the place to get it!!! I had the chocolate layer cake and it was greaattttt like Tony the Tiger would say!! It was warm soft and melted in my mouth!! I'm not a dessert girl but like I said I wanted to all I could since it was the weekend...you know, work hard play hard :) For my drinks, yes I said drinks lol...it's Saturday!! I tried the espresso and raspberry lemon drop martini and they were great, not too sweet and you can definitely taste the alcohol. I highly recommend their cocktails and they have so many and they get a lot of new ones so ask your waiter which ones that they do have for that day you go. Also, which is very imperative, the service was outstanding. We had the pleasure of having Alberto and he was beyond perfect. He was very attentive, came back the whole time didn't mess up our order and was very patient and had a really good heart. He recommended great suggestions on the menu. If you come ask for Alberto, he will not disappoint you. It's also a lot of parking in the back of the restaurant and easy to find. I cannot wait to come back to go to the bar to watch a game, and come back to try more food options and cocktails. -Marshay D.

Went here for my birthday and unfortunately left pretty disappointed…read more I ordered the prime rib, which is only served on the weekends, and asked for it medium. The first one they brought out was an edge cut and way more well-done than I prefer. They were nice enough to bring me another one, which was closer to medium, but honestly, I was still disappointed with the flavor. It just wasn't very good. My wife ordered the New York steak and felt pretty much the same. It was okay, but there really wasn't much flavor to it. For me, the only thing that was actually decent was the salad. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night, because the atmosphere was great and the servers were really nice. No complaints there. I will say, I cook steaks at home all the time, and this honestly didn't come close to what I'm used to making. At this point, maybe I've spoiled myself by cooking steaks at home so much that restaurant steaks just don't impress me anymore. Either way, it was a bummer, especially since it was my birthday. I really wanted to love this place, but based on the food we had that night, I probably wouldn't go back for the steaks. Total for the night.. was about 200 with tip. 2 Steaks and 2 kids meals and appetizer.
