By far, the cleanest nail bar I've been to. Not only are the prices the cheapest around, but all pedi's come with a hot stone massage. Make sure to pamper yourself & get the Deluxe mani pedi that include two exfoliations and a mud wrap (used with top quality material)(each step is followed by an amazing massage), along with the usual hot stone & vibration massage. The one thing I cannot stand is the man Tony at this salon. Every single time I've gone here, he does what HE wants to my nails.. I pick a color and he tells me to pick another one. I ask him to do a square shape and he says round is better. I say long and he says short. It's not what YOU like. It's what the customer likes and wants. Everybody has different taste. It's very frustrating and uncomfortable when I have to stand firm and say "No. this is what I want." And then he continues to encourage different colors or shapes. This place used to be great! Not anymore unfortunately. Went to get acrylics with tips and first off he was just rude from the start (not sure his name)and did a bad job. I'd ask for him to smooth down some of the acrylic as they were obviously uneven and he asked me "why?!". So lumpy and poorly done! Poor Customer service When I went to the shop I was treated with disrespect. Even though I told them multiple times they still didnt want to believe I had gel nail polish on and was insisting that I had on powder nail polish, I don't even know what powder nail polish is and knew for a fact I had on gel. They took people before me even though they came in long after me, and once I was finally taken they then asked me to move and sit in the lounge area before you get your nails done, the reason they asked me to move was they wanted that chair for another person's daughter that at the moment wasn't getting their nails done and hadn't even picked their color yet. I just got a dip manicure from this salon and have never been more disappointed. I asked the man to cut my nails about half way down (they were pretty long), he agreed then proceeded to do so. He then took it into his own hands and filed them even more then just cut them all the way down even though I said not to go any shorter multiple times. I then asked for tips on all nails since he cut mine off but he only gave me them on my pointer fingers. At this point I was so frustrated and just wanted to leave I did not say anything else. I had also asked for an almond/oval shape but was given an assortment of different varieties on different fingers. I've been looking for a nail salon since I moved to PA last year and this time tried Here based on google reviews. I won't go back, the service was awful. The woman that helped me spent the entire appointment telling me I could wait for someone else if I wasn't happy, all because I asked her to please clip off part of the acrylic that was lifted and I didn't want her to just fill over it. She said she didn't do fills only dips and if I wanted to wait for someone else I should. She said I should do a better job specifying what I want when I make my appointment. Umm excuse me? I know I didn't ask for dip so if you only do that why did they schedule me with you? She was rude, did a terrible job painting my nails, didn't even file them to the same length, they are "bumpy" on top which with the bad paint job is even more evident. On the salon side of things, they don't seem to be following many Covid restrictions, don't seem to be cleaning between customers, don't seem to be washing their hands much. read more

I went to J&L nails on multiple occasions. The first couple times i went they were mediocre. (Trying to give a chance to different nail techs each time) The last time I went was for a refill and honestly thought it was a joke the way he left my nails. The refill itself was god awful, and asking for a french was an even worse idea. I told him they looked awful and needed them re done. Worst pedicure ever. I am not a regular and just stopped in quickly for mani/pedi. Never got to the mani because of the awful job she did on my toes. She forgot to cut the nails on my left foot, so I told her. She beraly touched each nail with the file and the buffer. I mean barely. No filing was done on my skin. When it came time to apply the paint, she had to re-do one toe 2x, and my big toe once. I finally said forget it..just clear coat. Couldnt wait to get out of there. I cant even believe I was charged as I was in and out in 15 minutes. I am actually considering reporting these people to my credit card company. A shame really becasue the other women there seemed happy...maybe they have regular techs they see and I just got the "filler" that no one ever goes to. read more

There is such poor customer service there. I went to get my gel polish removed. They started taking people in front of me because I wasn't getting another gel manicure. When they finally put the wraps on my nails to take off the Polish they asked me to move so someone who had not even picked there color could sit down and talk to there mom. I got a manicure there prior to getting the gel off and the lady got to much lotion so before she rubbed it on my hands she rubbed the lotion on her stomach. I used to LOVE J & L! Prices were great and staff was friendly. With all the other nail salons in the area, J & L slipped from my top choice into my top 3. I was given a gift certificate so I went again for a gel mani / pedicure with a friend. It was a horrible experience. They didn't have any regular nail polish to match their gel colors, so they were showing me "close enough" matches. I chose two different colors in the same family to not look like I was trying to match the colors. My friend had her nails dipped but wanted get instead. They told her they were going to charge her $5 to take off the dip polish - which is the same technique of taking off gel - isn't this a cost of doing business? I could see if she came in and wanted her polish removed, but not if she was replacing it with something. The ladies doing our nails felt bad about this and told us that was the rule of the salon and many customers weren't happy with it. The salon was empty - we went there b/c everywhere else had no availability... that should have been a sign. This place used to be packed with clients and even more waiting. Not anymore! The vibe was completely different, staff walked around and seemed miserable. As a customer who has been coming here for four years, it appears staff still doesn't put any emphasis in quality and money spent. I had a nail break in a week because of poor quality, and the manager refused to fill one nail because they had an appointment coming in. No one was in line, and no one was there yet for the appointment. I am disappointed in the quality the last few times, having nails break quickly and gel coming off. I used to go here all the time and loved it. I The service had started to go down hill so I found another place for a pedicure. After a few years, I got a gift certificate for $50. I took a friend and went back. Two pedicures, both terrible. The place I had been going massages your legs, exfoliate and removes dead skin. My pedicurist was obviously new. She cut the nails back so far my big toe is sore. She startes the color and I didn't like it and although I voices that she continued to polish. My friends pedicure (done by a different person) was also bad. They filed the top of her big toes and they were bumpy! On checkout, they tell us 28 dollars a piece foe them!!
