But this is one of those places where it seems sketchy, it's not fancy looking whatsoever, but they get the job done! I needed a starter replaced and I told him if he found anything else that needed to be fixed to give me a call. Within 3 hours it was finished. Wow man, I am beyond baffled. I had my car overheat and the Triple A tech guy referred this shop to me. And I had my entire engine replaced for $2,000. At first, I was geeked to have found a place that have offered at that price. This shop isn't even the shop I normally go to! I am completely regretful of confirming this shop to care for my car. After the replacement, I came back a total of four times every two weeks because there were issues that kept happening that left me in the same square I brought my car over in the first place! Went to this location as a recommendation from a tow truck driver who actually used to work here. The driver was a God-send and really knew his stuff. Ended up not even needing the tow. So when he mentioned that he used to work as a mechanic I asked him a location he'd recommend and J&J was the place. He raved about Jose and how fair and honest of a mechanic he was. So of course when the engine started acting up again I called J&J. Jose answered and told me to bring the car by any time and he'd look at it. I pulled in (w/ no appt) and explained the issue from before and what was happening now. They explained to code being generated by the check engine light, he totally didn't mind me standing w him as he checked the engine. Even explained certain items that he was checking for, and showed me what he was looking at as he examined my engine. Since it seemed to be an issue w the new part that I had gotten from last time, he advised me to just go back to auto shop and have part exchanged. He even left the screw semi-undone so that it'd be easy for me to switch it out once I had the replacement part. I asked how much for all that he did and he told me no charge! Jose, not sure if you read these yourself, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU sooo very much for all your help. Went just to get the check engine codes on my car after a few other places were charging $15-20. Randomly told the guy the issue I had. Besides getting the codes, he ended up taking it for a quick test drive, raised it up to get a better look, pointed out and tightened two lose screws by the wheels while he was under there, and gave the best explanation he could about the odd issue I've had with my car for a while now. My car died on me one morning, called AAA to have them check the battery. Battery was fine, checked for spark and there was none. Looked like a new distributor was needed. Asked the driver to recommend a place and this was the place he recommended. Talked to Jose and said he could switch out the distributor right away. About an hour later, I was back on the road. Costed around 280, which I though was a little high, but fair for the quick service, plus it's still half the price Pepboys wanted. Asked about having some rotors and brake pads changed on the wife's car, and he quoted 250. I said sure and took a business card. A day later, called them up and set up an Appointment. Does the job in two hours and for 250 bucks, which again was around half the price of everyone else. So far everything is working well and for a fair price. Lots of stuff going on there, they seem real busy, but can get you in and out pretty quick. Good prices and good service, win win. read more

This auto shop did me dirty, the owners son(short dark chubby dude) worked on my 95 Impala SS. Said I need to replace the opti-spark on the LT1 engine. I went ahead and told him to fix it along with replacing spark plugs and wires. He charged me $500.00 cash. The job was not done right, when I picked up the car he started telling me that my fuel injectors were no good and that is why my car is not idling properly. Trying to charge me another couple hundred dollars to fix. I took the car back and the son was no where around hasn't been to work in days. The Dad just brushed me off like I was full of shit. I spoke with another mechanic that worked there and he's telling me that I'm not the only one who's been scammed. The son is spoiled and lazy and fucks people's cars up and everyone else has to fix his fuck up. Basically (Its my Daddys shop I do what I want and my Daddy will take care of whatever I cant) type of attitude. I do not recommend this mechanic shop to anyone. read more

Don't go to this place. They will try to suck money out of you as much as possible. And these guys don't know what they're doing. I took my car here because it shut down on me, everything just shut down completely. The owner, Jose, told me that it was the alternator and I got charged $300 to replace it. A week after, my cousin, who knows about these things, checked it out and told me that it prolly was the acid/erosion on the battery that caused the breakdown. He said maybe if they would've clean off the acid/erosion on top of the battery, it might just work great, but let me tell you, they didn't even try to do it. And even after replacing my alternator for $300, they didn't even bother to clean off the acid, which prolly would've taken them about couple minutes. When I asked, they told me to clean it myself (I think the reason for this might be because they want my car to break down again due to the acid and when I come back, they could get more money from me, a jobless girl who uses her credit card to spend because she doesn't have any money to pay for stuff). Oh and after a day they replaced it, my car was making funny noises that I never heard before. I'm thinking maybe they did something to it, so that I would go back and they could suck more money out of me. Another thing, when my friend was asking for the old alternator, they said they don't have it. I mean, don't I have the right to have what is mine back? Ridiculous!!! My friend was thinking that maybe they want to keep it, so they can use it for their next customer and charge her $300 with my old one. read more
