Found out Luciano retired! We are going to miss him. Been going to him for years, many referrals, and everybody loved him. New owner, very thorough, will show you pictures of worn out hoses, etc so you know he isn't just putting something on your car, that you don't need. Recommend oil change, which I completely forgot about, just added Freon, for AC to work. Very reasonable and gives your car the TLC it needs. Took the car to O'Reilly, and got the codes to why Check Engine light was on. Untrustworthy. Non communicative. Shifty. Recommended by a friend I had a rear view mirror replaced. I wanted to replace the drivers side front panel, too, which had been dented, but the manager wanted me to pre-pay for it!! When I declined he asked me to sign a promissory note. I did, but never got a call back. I followed up a couple of months later and asked the owner about painting a couple panels on the car. He said he'd paint them and let them air-dry since it was so hot---can we say " flies on paint??!! " Never going back. read more

I can also attest to the owner being extremely touchy (sexual harassment). Although he has helped me a ton with my vehicle problems, he has no boundaries to the point that I just felt I had to stop coming. He will try and hug you, rub your back, touch you and flirt with you any chance he gets, even when you make it clear you are just here to get your car fixed. He has tried to get me alone several times on "test drives" where you have to firmly refuse. I appreciate all the help I got with my vehicle, but it was time to find a new mechanic that didnt make me scared to come alone for my car repair. read more

I've been going to Luciano since 1994 (I was 16 and I bought my first car) He was at another location a few miles from this one, but I drive from the South Bay to Long Beach just because of the honest care and customer service I receive from him. From brakes to a transmission, I have had it all done in our 26 year relationship. I even go just for oil changes because he'll tell me if my car needs anything else. And he will tell me honestly "no your car is good and doesn't need anything". I go directly to him even if he's busy, sorry but it's true, yet he still makes time for me. There was a time he was sick and had to shut down for a few years and one of his employees would work on my car from his home while his wife would let me hang out with her and have coffee in the kitchen. I cannot express how well this business has taken care of me and the friends that I've referred over to them. read more

I promise you this is the worse of the worse. I was a regular of Luciano for many years as I lived right down the street. He is good for minor and basic jobs and convenient if you live nearby. You can forgo having to wait at his shop and just go home and wait for them to call and say your car is ready. The problem is when you let him do big jobs. He is terrible and has no business taking any big jobs. The first big job he took involved fixing my AC. He replaced one component after another, each time the job costs me about $300. He replaced the condenser and it didn't work, $300. He replaced the consolidator, it didn't work, $300. Then he replaced another part that started with a C, it didn' work and another$300. He guaranteed that if he replaced a final part it would work, but I was already out of nearly a grand so I said NO. That was the first big job he botched. I took the car to an actual AC company and they pointed to a certificate on the wall, and said only to do business with a auto company that had such a certificate. That certificate said they were certified and were obligated to fix the problem for the original price even if they didn't get it right the first time. Since Luciano was good for minor jobs like brakes I gave him more chances, but that was strike one. Then came strike two. Luciano pressured me to repair my transmission. I knew to take it to a tranny place but he greatly pressured me to go with him for half the cost. He even let me drive one of his cars while he worked on my car and that was good because I could still go to work for the week. Well, each time he returned the car not only did it not work, but it appeared that he didn't even test drive the vehicle! He gave it back to me three times, and the car didn't run right in less than ten minutes after he gave me the keys. The car jumped out of gear in less than ten minutes over and over. Eventually he and I took the car to a actual transmission company and Luciano wanted me to pay this guy, his friend for the cost of the repair. It didn't happen and there was a problem over who was gonna pay. I guess Luciano paid because I sure didn't. That was strike two. Then came the final straw. I blew a gasket and was using his driveway to do the repair with another guy who said he could do it using some liquid that would seal the gasket. I never heard of it but his own car worked fine after using it. On this day, a Sunday Luciano was closed but he showed up and found us in front of his shop. He said he could fix it using the same liquid sealant. So I brought the car back the next day and gave Luciano the sealant, he said he knew how to use it and I pointed out on the instructions that it said in bold letters "Do not pour into the car without using water..." I left the car and guess what? Luciano poured the sealant right into the car and ignored the instructions. This destroyed my car! I was super pissed and refused to pay. Luciano charged me up the nose to fix what he had done. I led him to believe that I was gonna pay, and when his worker gave me back the car, which was still not running right, I forced his worker out of the car and took it. F--k it, I straight took my own car. I had enough of this guy taking advantage of me. I remembered the AC job, and the tranny job and I had it so I took my car. Luciano called the cops and tried to get me arrested for felony grand theft auto. I told the cops that I knew this guy for a long time, that he had destroyed my vehicle in the past, that I paid him a deposit and this was a civil matter. Oh, I left out that his workers laughed at me as I was driving the car with smoke coming out the back, laughing at me as I was fuming over the destruction of my car. Anyway, the cops agreed with me that this was a civil matter so they didn't arrest me. Then we sued each other, he sued me for the cost of the repairs, totaling about$5,000. I sued him for destroying my car, $5,000. We went to court twice because the first time the judge agreed with him that I should pay $800. I was super pissed as the court also dismissed my claim. So I appealed and we went back to court. Again, I sued him for destroying my car and he sued me for $5,000 in repairs. This time the judge dismissed my claim and rewarded him $500 out of the $5,000. Luciano had the nerve to be really angry at the judgement while I had to go and buy another vehicle and get crumbs for a trade-in. I paid him in small bills here and there so he would never feel like he got any real money. After I paid him a couple hundred dollars I stopped paying him and didn't settle up until almost seven years later. This moron was still angry when he was totally in the wrong. Why the judge dismissed my claim twice is a mystery as Luciano admitted that he destroyed my car with the sealant, inbetween lies he admitted in court that that he also didn't fix the AC or tranny years earlier. Unless the job is small or basic, AVOID THIS MORON! He is not qualified for big jobs. read more

Sadly I can't give my business to this place anymore, women be warn this owner doesn't know how to respect women when he finds them attractive even if you clearly show no interest, he takes the liberties on expressing how he can't stop admiring your figure and requesting for hugs even when you made it clear that you have no interest etc... No women should to feel unsafe any place because of sexual harassment even when it's verbally insinuated and especially in a place of business. read more

my neighbors recommended this place when my car stopped working. another neighbor quoted me for a new starter and I decided to call Luciannos instead. He advised me to let him take a look and sure enough , my so called "neighbor /mechanic" was either wrong or trying to bilk me. So I went here, got a new ignition switch installed and saved myself around a hundred dollars. you know how you get a vibe about someone? well, I have a very great vibe about this mechanic. Beware! Do not use this Business! Charged me $310 to replace the Trans clutch solenoid and did nothing to the Trans. Told me I need a complete Trans rebuild for another $1500 dollars. A scam! I took my vehicle to another shop, They said no work was done on the Trans, and the Trans only need a $39 dollar Solenoid. They replace the Solenoid and the Trans is working great. Luciano refunded only $200 dollars to me. Charged me $110 for doing nothing and wanted me to pay for a complete Trans Rebuild. Beware! read more

I recommend this place with the highest quality of work Luciano and his staff give. Excellent customer service and knowledge of his craft. I live in Brea and took my car to two mechanics not one of them was able to really pin point the issue. So I had my car towed from East Anaheim to Luciano, I went to him prior and he was able to pin point the issue with his handy machine (diagnostic) why the others did not do that beats me. He did a great job on my car, I feel 100% confident my car is not going to break down again. Luciano will be the only mechanic I go to from now on. I called Luciano for a phone estimate on a bleeding brakes issue in my car. I accepted and they fixed the problem in 1 plus hour of taking it there. I am satisfied with the mechanical work done but not quite with the work cleanness. Luciano's is an owner's business. The shop is busy and is more focus on work done. It seems that Luciano's is not concern in leaving the car messy/dirty, I had to clean my car from grease spots in steering wheel, floor mat, seat, hood, etc. after the service was done. I recommend covering you seat and floor mat with cardboard, plastic or something before taking it there for service. read more
