Still great. Love it here. Everything cooked well. Food came out fast. Service was great.

So this time, I decided to try something different and went with the Cao lau. Wow it was so delicious! This deliciously marinated thinly sliced pork paired with lettuce and aromatics, a nice helping of thick rice noodles and a savory sauce that paired well with the pork seasoning. All the flavors added up to a party in my mouth lol. It's a little deceiving to call it a soup dish because it's more like a sauce that it comes with. The sauce is not shown in the picture. I highly recommend this dish if you want to try something different from the traditional pho!

I went here to meet friends. I was hoping for a Viet dessert but all they had was crème brûlée . I guess I should have studied the menu first. I decided on a passion fruit tea with mixed jelly. The tea was tasty... a bit on the sweet side... still refreshing. The dining room gives date vibes because of the low lighting. Service was good. Establishment is located in a shopping strip with shared parking.

This is a very good upscale Vietnamese restaurant. If you're going to do the Pho, get the bone marrow, you won't regret it.

The owner had posted videos of his food creations on IG and they all looked really good so I've bookmarked this place for some time. When my friend from out of town came to visit and wanted Viet food, we decided to give it a try. Love that the place was in a shopping center so it was easy to get in and out on Westheimer. Parking was easy to find too. The cars can move pretty quick in the area so keep a lookout for the cars. Once inside, we were seated promptly and were given water and shrimp chips to snack on after ordering as we wait for our orders to come out. For food, we ordered banh bot chien to share and their special pho with the bone marrow. The banh bot chien was probably the most beautiful I've ever seen. It tasted like how I've always remembered the dish, but a bit more leveled up with the Chinese sausage, pickled vegetables, and other garnishes. For the pho, I always like to taste the broth first before adding anything in and it was really good - Many depths of flavors. I LOVED IT. The bone marrow also gave it a more buttery, richness. The only thing I added was a bit of the lime for a crisp lift and some herbs. No hoison sauce was needed for me. Also, there was a ton of protein in this bowl. I left so full. Since everything came out together, I ate the pho first before the banh bot chien. Next time, because I do plan to come back, I would ask for banh bot chien first because I think it would've tasted even better when it first got to the table vs a little later when it cooled off. Inside, I think the place looks good aesthetically. It's definitely more on the hipster neighborly style. Glad I finally got to try it! A few notes for anyone who plan to bring a little one: There are high chairs for use and they can provide their plastic to go container and silverware (if you don't bring your own). I didn't see a changing table inside the restroom.

Located right next to the Starbucks off the corner, J.A.M is really conveniently located with lots of parking. The inside is super cute, with cherry blossom trees and other decor around the brightly lit bar. I'm sure it feels completely different at night. My friends and I ordered the vermicelli noodles with tofu, pork and shrimp respectively (not pictured) and this delicious crispy rice dish called Banh Canh. While the actual banh canh is subtly flavored, it comes with this delicious fish sauce that comes with huge flavor. It's slightly sweet, spicy, sour and very umami. Overall a great dish with lots of texture. The vermicelli noodles with shrimp came out nicely, with tons of veggies and fresh herbs. It was so fresh and really refreshing. The food came out a bit slowly, but with the quality, I can totally understand why. The servers are attentive during this time, offering free shrimp chips, topping offs on water and other drinks, and are generally good conversation. Overall, a place I definitely would love to visit again.

J.A.M actually impressed me with their more "upscale" take on Vietnamese traditional cuisine. While their prices are a little higher than your typical spot -- it's actually justified because the quality of the food you're getting and their attention to detail. A lot of people associate Vietnamese food with being cheap and affordable despite it requiring a lot of care to make it taste good. J.A.M takes your typical Vietnamese dishes like pho and com tam and amplifies it. Their presentation is also on point. I got their combination rice plate with the huge pork tomahawk and it was delicious. I already liked com dac biet...but didn't know I could like it like this. It came with bone marrow! It was giving fancy for sure. The tomahawk was cooked well and had the perfect flavor -- no dryness whatsoever. Beautifully balanced dish.

JAM did an amazing job with rebranding traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a semi modern take. The staff are very on point with seating and getting you started. The place is well decorated with a sophosticated atmosphere without coming off as overly ambitious. Foodwise, we ordered: **Banh Bot Chien (fried rice cake): this is an amazing dish and one of the best ones I've ever had. The rice cake chunks are try to an extra crispy level while the egg base foundation is soft, light, and fluffy to create a very nice texture on bites. Even the addition of chinese sausage bits (uncommon among other restaurants but very well excuted idea) elevates the dish. The dipping/drizzle sauce is mildly season just right without being too overly salty. **Pho Combination: for the most part was done well. The broth imparted a lot of complex savory flavors that is traditional for this noodle soup dish. The amount of side vegetables and green bean sprout and basil or generous. However the beef flank was a bit too tough to chew through, requiring us to forcibly rip and tear the meat as opposed to just chewing it. The other toppings were fine.

Went here in the afternoon and they were out of banh bot chien and Cau lau. Seriously disappointing considering we drove over an hour to try here. This is the last time I'll be trying any modern-looking Vietnamese restaurant with my parents, it was embarrassing. We also tried the branzino on the specials menu and the skin had an awful burned aftertaste despite the actual fish not being overcooked (tasted undercooked if anything), somehow transferred the burn flavor to the glass noodles below it. The pho was good imo, but my family did not enjoy it very much. And the bo ne seemed to be decent, but you can get better elsewhere.

Can't remember if I have already reviewed this place but it's really good. It's my go to pho spot . If you come I recommend eating in person and not to go or Uber Eats. It's a much better food experience . The pho is always piping hot and stays hot for like 30 min-40 mins . Good broth flavor and even their shaking beef is great.

Came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, and it did not disappoint! We were promptly seated upon arrival, and the restaurant had a sleek, modern vibe. A great start was the complimentary fried shrimp chips--think of them as the Vietnamese version of bread service. Now, onto the real stars of the night: What We Ordered (Family Style): Phở Gà Khô Oysters Bò Né Bánh Bột Chiên Fried Tofu Oysters - 5/5 Okay, I might be biased because I love oysters, but these were fantastic. You get to choose between raw with sweet & sour fish sauce, grilled with green onion and peanut, or grilled with cream cheese. I went for the raw option, and the sweet & sour fish sauce complemented them perfectly. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. Bò Né - 4/5 This dish was a hit with my family! It's like a deconstructed bánh mì--Vietnamese ham, pâté, eggs, and crusty bread to dip everything in. My mom mentioned it's a popular dish in Vietnam, which made it even more special. The only downside? They barely gave us any beef! We had, like, one or two small pieces, which my dad claimed before I could even get a bite. Bánh Bột Chiên - 5/5 Absolute perfection. We inhaled it so fast that we had to order another one. If that doesn't tell you how good it was, I don't know what will. Fried Tofu - 3/5 This one didn't wow me. It was on the airy side, and I was hoping for something more tofu-packed. Maybe that's just the style, but as someone who isn't a huge tofu fan, it wasn't my favorite. Great service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere made for a memorable birthday dinner. I'll definitely be back--just hoping for a bit more beef in my Bò Né next time!

They managed to keep the same relaxed neighborhood vibe people love while giving it a much more modern, polished, and upscale feel. The updated design, lighting, TVs and overall atmosphere look incredible and make the space feel fresh without losing its personality. They still have the spinning drink wheel! The outdoor seating especially feels elevated now and makes for the perfect Houston brunch spot or night out. One of the best parts about NextDoor is that it's connected to Hungry's, which means you get full access to their menu while enjoying the lounge atmosphere. Being able to order everything from cocktails and appetizers to full meals while at a bar is a game changer. The food is consistently good, the drinks are strong (especially the frozen options) well-made, and everything comes out quickly. What keeps me coming back year after year is the consistency. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, the crowd is chill, and it never feels overly pretentious or chaotic. It's one of those rare spots that works for everything, whether it's happy hour after work, date night, catching up with friends over drinks on the patio or a solo adventure. Love seeing a longtime Houston favorite continue to evolve while still delivering the same great experience that's kept me coming back for years. Definitely one of my go-to spots on Memorial Drive. My only suggestion is to tell the younger staff members to be conscious of their conversations while guest are dining nearby. I love people watching but I heard a lot of things. It appears Hungry's uses the bar area like a break/training room or to do other tasks like rolling utensils in napkins.

I visited this Thai restaurant with my mom and toddler on a Monday shortly after their opening time…read morearound 11:15 am. It is located within a shopping complex with ample parking. We were seated right away at a half booth style table with two regular chairs. Their lunch menu special is a good $14.95 deal which includes an entree, appetizer & soup of the day. You can also add a specialty drink for $2. We ordered green curry with chicken, pad Thai with tofu, crab cream cheese starter, boat noodle soup & purple harmony drink (butterfly pea soda), and mango sticky rice for dessert. The food came out pretty quickly! The pad Thai was moist and flavorful despite no spicy level. We all really enjoyed the green curry including 3 yr old. The noodle soup had great flavor with medium spicy level but the broth was soaked up by the noodles so I recommend eating it quickly. The mango sticky rice was perfectly sweet and balanced well with the ripe mango. There is also two cute tuk tuk set up for a fun photo op and they even provide a chair for the little ones. The bathroom was very clean and well-maintained. It did become very busy by 12-12:30 pm. There were only two main servers who were working very hard so I definitely think the manager should increase staffing. We also ordered pad woon sen with shrimp and crab fried rice to go which was neatly packed. The pad woon sen noodles were little drier than expected but the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My husband did overall enjoy the fried rice but is on the pricey side. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely return for another outing.

It's vibrant & elegant. My friend and I decided to come here for lunch, we wanted to do like a family style and order several dishes to try. Our server Thao was very accommodating and friendly, she even packed our leftovers to take home. Here are the items we've tried. * Thai tea- good amount of sweetness. They also give you 1 free refilled which was nice. 4/5 * Roti Curry- roti was hot and fresh. Soft with a light crisp. The sauce was good but a little too sweet for my liking. They had cubed potatoes inside the sauce which is a nice addition. 3.5/5 * Tom Yum Soup- came out piping hot. Great combination of sour and savory with a hint of spice. The chicken was so tender and melt in your mouth. It was my favorite dish and I'll come back just for that. 4.5/5 * Pad Thai- probably one of my least favorite Thai dishes but this one was good. Not overly too sweet and it was spicy. Crazy amount of flavors to this dish. 3.5/5 * Pad Kee Mao- so darn good. Asked for medium spice and they definitely delivered. The noodles were cooked to perfection and good coloring. 4/5 * Grilled salmon with Panang curry- it could've been cooked a little less. Salmon was crispy on the top and flaky on the inside. The sauce was a little too sweet for my liking, most likely too much coconut milk. It was creamy though. The presentation was a two thumbs up. Looked so nice that I didn't even wanna eat it. 3.5/5 * Mango sticky rice- so freaking good. Mango was soft and ripe. Rice was sticky and soft and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Coconut sauce was creamy. The only thing that I didn't like were their mung beans, it was just too crunchy & the texture wasn't right. I would've been fine if they sprinkled sesame seeds on top of the dessert instead. 4/5 Overall the food was good, the service was warm and welcoming and the ambiance is inviting. We saw some other dishes brought out to the other tables like the crab fried rice & papaya salad. Nicely presented and we can't wait to try them out next time. This is one of the very few restaurants that I'm really looking forward to coming back. Great job Osha.

We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail.
