    Duck balut

Very cool cozy bar in Chinatown. It can get a bit loud because it's also like a sports bar, I believe. Even so we actually came for dinner! The food is really good and came out pretty fast, I think good food for drinking. The oysters were really good and clean. The balut was also really good here, if you are into it. The squid and mango is my dads favorite and has nice cuts of mango. The lâu had a really nice sweet sour flavor and the seafood in it was really good. It was really nice since it was getting a little chilly at night! The servers were also all so nice and attentive if we needed anything. Frequently coming to check with us. I would totally suggest coming here with your friends, maybe not like a family and kids but also I'm not sure because I used to come when I was younger lol.

Great vibes and music and decor (club lights), drinks were tasty but the food was mediocre. I still love my Vietnamese bar food options though. The best that I had were the raw marinated shrimp, coconut snails and duck egg. The oysters were not good. Would go back for drinks and a good time but not for the oysters.

This spot is okay to have a couple of drinks with your friends. They have a good amount of unique alcoholic beverages and if you're hungry there are some bites that you can enjoy while you're drinking. The food they have has an Asian twist to it. It's still your average bar food so don't expect to be impressed on the quality of your dishes. They have appetizers such as oysters, clams, chicken feet (which I don't recommend). They also have soup, hot pot & sushi. To be on the safe side I usually order their hot wings & curly fries. Their wings with fish sauce & black pepper had an interesting taste to it. Sweet, savory and they were sticky. For my drink I forgot the name, but it tasted like cappuccino with liquor in it. It's a pretty dangerous drink because it's sweet and you don't really taste any alcohol but a couple of those will have you pretty lit. The service from most of the servers was just okay but they have one bartender who was really kind and helpful. My friend ordered the bubbly pineapple & I was intrigued with how they made the drink. Overall, it was okay. It wasn't the best but not the worst either. I usually get here a little early because once it hits 10pm, the place is packed and extremely loud and it feels like you're at a club. Will I come back? I wouldn't go out of my way but I wouldn't mind stopping by from time to time.

Service was great. Restaurant vibe was great for friends hanging out for a chill night with alcohol options and late night snacks. If you like banh canh cua, definitely give theirs a try!

My friend and I had tea at a shop around the corner but we weren't quite ready to go home when they closed so we found this bar in the same shopping strip that stayed open until 2AM. Upon entry, it was very spacious, pretty clean and had a DJ playing. The DJ played a mix of like hop hop (a lot of 2000's era) and we heard reggae ton. It wasn't super crowded so you could sit anywhere but we chose to sit at the bar. The bartenders were all so friendly and very attentive and kept checking on us frequently. I noticed that they had bottle specials for like $100 which is probably better than many other bars in Houston if you wanted to do bottle service. We ordered the $5 shots of crown and I got a Martel confetti while my friend got the peach drink (I forgot the name). My friend ordered these loaded fries that came with this sauce, crab meat and fish eggs I believe it was called. It basically looked like a lot of the stuff that you would put on sushi but on fries. It was just okay. Like it was missing some extra flavor for me. Overall this bar had a nice chill vibe to it so I would recommend it if you wanted to get out the house but didn't want anywhere that would be too packed/chaotic.

    Watermelon Soju

My friends and I came here after dinner as we have been wanting to try their watermelon soju for a while now. It was average at best. We didn't taste much soju and it tasted like lukewarm watermelon juice. Personally, I enjoy other variations of watermelon soju where it's more slushy-like and sweeter. It was a lot of juice though for 4 people! We had trouble finishing all of it. The calamari that we ordered on the side was nothing to write home about. I would've liked it to be more crispy.

it's usually a hit or miss when we come here. we ordered flavored soju and it was $25 for ONE bottle. yikes. bummed they had no crawfish either. service was good but we were one of the few tables there. the quail balut is always good but they are pricy the thai hot pot broth is so damn good the avocado volcano was pretty meh, lacked flavor the nuoc mam wings were super dry but flavor was good the fried chicken feet is always bomb

From the start…read morethe staff was helpful on the phone with booking the room, helping with room size to number of people calculations and just answering general questions. The place itself is also extremely spacious and well decorated. There's a general area for people to eat and mingle and sing, and there are big private rooms for parties that want to have smaller gatherings. The private rooms are great! There's plenty of comfy seating, a large table, 2 mics and a large screen. Disco like lights really make the experience fun and lively! And most importantly, a large catalogue of songs in several languages. The staff member gave us a tutorial of how to use the technology. Later, due to a glitch, she also gave us a discount! The food is also very tasty. They have main course dishes, as well as lighter items. I tried some of the mochi ice cream and it was lovely!

I have been back for karaoke and dinner parties this year. So, it's time to do an update…read more  I am used to the pricing structure at Neway Restaurant & Lounge for the karaoke portion. It's the most logical and easy to follow amongst the karaoke bars in Chinatown. There are different sizes of rooms, starting $30 for the smallest one to fit up to 8 people. Then, it goes up to medium $40 an hour, that was where I hosted my recent party. It can fit up to 12 people.  My party was during the week. I chose to rent the room and have a 10-course meal with drinks that reached the minimum of $295, which doesn't apply to the hourly rate. My guests ordered some drinks. Everyone was happy while we sang 4 hours to the end.  On the days that I don't have parties, I sing in the main dining room solo. The rule is $20 spending per person regardless of party size. If I didn't order that much, they would charge $20 for karaoke. The computerized screen has the most popular songs in many different languages. I only sing Standard English songs. There are few Spanish songs but you have to know the singer by name to search for it. Sometimes, the songs need to be downloaded or it may not be available to download.  The atmosphere is so hip. You don't have to sing if you don't want to. My friend that came with me was happy to be there. He just watched me while eating some Chinese noodles and drinking his Blue Moon Beer. The menu was quite expansive but cohesive with Italian/ Asian fusion. I got seated and immediately was given a menu and cold water in a stainless steel cup. I ordered the sliced beef udon soup version (there's also an option for stirfy) but granted, today was cloudy and slightly windy so it called for soup. After placing my order, I was given the proper utensils and shortly after, a large piping bowl was placed in front of me! Flavor was good and the sliced beef was addicting.. the portion was a bit much for lunch to me so I had to ask for togo and the waitress came out and put it away for me in a custom togo bag that sealed so that was fun to leave with. The waitress was certainly very tentative and made sure other guests had their waters filled at all times so I'd love to come back to try out their other menu items like their omurice or their lobster creamy rice. Location: in the Dun Huang Plaza across from HMart. The parking is shared with many of its neighbors but if you plan it right, you'll be able to snag a spot close by and walk less than a minute.
