Was in the singing mood so I came here for some karaoke and got the extra small room. It's hello kitty themed which is super cute, and it's a good size for about 4 people max. They gave free popcorn which was a nice touch. The sound system is pretty good and you can play music on YouTube. However... the air conditioning wasn't working when I was there! This is a nice small place for people to gather together with friends and family members to sing karaoke. The room's interior is very nice. We were trying to look up some Vietnamese songs on YouTube on their iPad screen, but no Vietnamese song came up on the screen. So the employee showed us how to connect the song on YouTube from my phone to their monitor screen. The service was very nice and helpful. We were having a great time at this karaoke place. I recently threw a unique and fun baby shower at Happy Zone KTV and we loved the place! I made reservations for 2-5pm on a Saturday, and the only issue I had was the person didn't show up until right at 2, which was difficult because we needed to decorate the room with balloons, etc. Honestly, it was fine! When she arrived, she saw all our decorations and immediately helped us take them back to our reserved room and was extremely kind. To rent a XL room, we paid $50 per hour. They also have a one time fee for bringing in food of $30 and charged 18% gratuity. They also charge for bringing in alcohol, but we didn't bring anything besides water! A cute, fun and spacious room. Great options to sing. Speakers were great. The room came with 2 mics. We all had such a fun time celebrating! read more

I never write bad reviews for any place. This is actually my first bad review ever. If I could give zero stars, I would. Ok so first of all, I had my birthday party here on the week of April 15th 2026. Prior to my party, I called them at least 3 times. Everyone that answers the phone has different instructions. One person said I had to pay a 50% deposit, another person said I didn't. I paid the deposit for a medium room holding up to 12 people. I was told it was $55 an hour for a minimum of 2 hours. They said the deposit would go towards my room and all I would have to pay on the day of is $55. I assumed tax would be added which was fine with me. On the day of my party, it was raining extremely bad and I had a lot of cancellations. I asked if could downsize the room to accommodate a smaller party, they said no even though they had smaller rooms available. I just decided to keep the reservation as is. I got to the counter to check in and the $55 plus tax I thought I was going to pay turned into $86! They made me TIP THEM $22 dollars. That's OVER 10% gratuity. I have no issue with tipping but they brought me a very very small bucket of popcorn and a pitcher of water. If I had a party of 12, each person would have only been able to eat 2 popcorns MAX. We had to get our OWN DRINKS and they have a card minimum of $5 so we had to buy multiple drinks per person. The place is dirty, might I add. For $22 in tip, they didn't do ANYTHING for me except bring popcorn and tell me I had 5 minutes until my reservation ended. Ridiculous. There are many private karaoke spots in Houston. Go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. I will NEVER be back. I will go somewhere else. read more

Came here with 2 friends, we're from out of town. They didn't have a small room (for 4 ppl) for us but instead gave us a med room and charged us the same price as a small room. We didn't make a reservation, reservations are for those planning to stay for 3+ hours, otherwise it's a walk-in. Recommend to do walk-ins during their happy hours before 6 pm? Seems like they get packed later on during the night 6pm+ and so on. The guy at the front was really nice! Helped us out a lot. Really friendly and one of the staff members is good at drawing! Saw their pets (dogs/cats) drawings. There's a service fee added to your bill. I don't remember the % but it was like $3 for us. We got a rather pretty forest room aka tree wallpaper. There's a button near the door if you need to call for help with anything. The staff helped us connect our phone to the tv so we can choose whatever song we want from YouTube to sing which is very convenient and easy since we already knew how YouTube works and didn't have to scroll through any unknown app to find the song we want. read more

Finally made my way to Happy Zone after passing by it multiple times. We came for a friend's birthday and were able to comfortably seat 13 people in a room. The room gets extremely cold so be sure to bring a jacket. I like that you're able to bring your own food and drinks to truly make it your own experience but it does come with a $30 fee. It seems pretty steep to charge a BYOB fee if you don't even offer full bar service and minimal food options. While this place does have their own karaoke programs inside of the room, my friend opted to cast songs from Youtube on her phone. Other reviews have commented that the program's song list is very limited, though. We still had an enjoyable experience but the establishment could surely invest in getting a new karaoke and program and expanding their menu. read more

We decided to wrap up our night with birthday karaoke (they offer 10% off!). We weren't able to reserve a room in advance, because no one picked up our calls. The room itself is fine, darkly lit with strobe lights and very air-conditioned. The microphone was too loud in comparison to the music, and we unfortunately weren't able to change the settings. The worker asked us how long we wanted the room for and we told them one hour. We didn't take note of the exact time that we started, so when we felt like it had to have been an hour and the worker hadn't come back, we went out and realized that our time had just been running and charging by the minute. Not a big deal, but I'm not sure why the worker asked us how long we wanted the room if he was going to continue charging us for every minute over one hour. Again, this might be common knowledge that our group just wasn't aware of, as we'd never done private karaoke, so not entirely their fault, but wish we were made aware. The rates online are by the hour, so it wasn't very clear to us. When we returned our microphones, we were made aware that we weren't put in an x-small room, but a small room. We came in wanting an x-small room, so did not expect to find that on our bill, which was just another instance of miscommunication on both ends. Lastly, they added an automatic 18% gratuity, which stunned me. There was truly nothing that called for gratuity, as we had not ordered anything. I am happy to tip service workers, but not in this situation where absolutely no service was provided. Overall, the experience was not the best. My friends and I (party of 5) booked their extra small room (max 4) for $30/hour with a $3 flat fee for having an extra person. There was an automatic 15% gratuity fee that comes with extra small room. They charge extra for outside drinks but not for outside food. I enjoyed our experience, it's definitely a narrow long room so there's room for 5-6 people to sit on the bench but it's not a rectangular room like I'm used to most karaoke rooms being. It's Hello Kitty themed which was nice for our guest of honor who loves Hello Kitty. The system was easy to use with the touch screen however the touch screen was sometimes hard to use. They have a cool concept where they show the music videos of the actual songs you're performing (I'm used to the random kpop music videos in the background). There were no tambourines. If you ever do karaoke, you have to go to happy zone! We came here after eating dinner for my aunts 60th birthday, and they accommodated my whole family! The service was super fast and they were so nice! You can bring alcohol bottles from the store, they'll just charge you depending on what you bring ($1 for beer, $2 for wine, $10 for liquor). I've been here a handful of times, however this recent time was what made me leave the review. Overall it's a pretty average karaoke place, with cool rooms. I can confirm a lot of other reviews 1. they do have options other than youtube karaoke, but they almost never explain that to you when you're there 2. their soju is outrageously overpriced $20 a bottle 3. sometimes they are res-only sometimes they aren't, but they are never really clear about it however this was my recent experience that made me realize it wasn't worth going there when the Bellaire plaza has other karaoke places. i went with a group of six, and we were excited. the guy asked if we'd been there before, we said yeah, so he basically left us on our own. first we noticed the music volume was low even though it was maxed on our phones (it was youtube), when we asked them if there was a way to make it louder they did, but the employee seemed annoyed with us (but whatever, seemed like they were busy). however they didn't turn the mic volume up so it ended up being we couldn't hear anything from the mic. granted this might be where we went wrong, but we turned the mic volume up (not by much, one notch on the machine) by ourselves because they didn't seem to want to help us. five minutes later they came in and locked the cabinet the machine was in after turning the volume down on the mic. the employee never said anything about not touching the machines, however we realized we messed up. the volume on the mics was basically turned off. we could hear each other better without the mics. when asked if we could turn the volume up they said they couldn't. We were only 30 mins into our 1.5 hour session, and the mics didn't work. whatever. we stayed, just sang without mics, but when the bill came they added 18% gratuity. i understand that with groups of 6 often it's just added, however in this experience it just really seemed cheap. we ordered waters and that was all, and the employees weren't even helpful. overall? average karaoke place, but if you go on a night when the employees are annoyed, prepare to deal with them unhelpful. we honestly had a better time singing on the car ride over than at the place. read more

Me and a group of my work friends around 7 of us decided we would go to karaoke after work on a Thursday night. We booked and made a reservation for their medium size room days in advance- our arrive time was set for 6:30. NOTE to others- there are more locations than one in one block. We got very confused on the location so we arrived late and did an hour then we were asked if we wanted to do another hour. It was a good idea to keep going so we ended finishing around 8:30ish- we were charged for more than we thought. We also thought there was a deal for happy hour -starts at 6pm but that was if we started on time so we all ended up spending around 12 or 20 dollars each which wasn't too bad. Overall I think the front desk person attitude wasn't the best / kinda rude which is why im giving the place a 2/5 instead of 3/5. I enjoyed myself doing karaoke. The staff is very attentive and helpful! The room was perfect and the sound system was great! BYOB so I brought my own empty cooler for me and my friends to put beer in and they helped me fill it up with ice. There was an unpredictable and unavoidable power outage covering the whole block half way through the night but the staff was very nice and helpful through it. Had my husbands surprise bday here and in the process I forgot several things and they were so helpful! Everyone was so sweet and kind, it definitely made all the difference. We all had so much fun. I would definitely be back with a big crowd. Only suggestion is for them to also include popular Spanish songs from bad bunny and peso pluma etc. that would be really awesome!!! Came here on a first date, and it was AMAZING! The room was clean, you could connect the tv to youtube so you could use pretty much any song. Amazing experience, no complaints.... until he charged me $72 for something i was told would be $50. I asked why the bill was so high and he said it's because we were an hour late( we were 30min late), which was still weird considering we didn't get any extra time from the 2 hours we reserved it for. But it gets worse. I had to put a $40 down payment to reserve the place but it wasn't taken out of the bill so ended up paying $112. oh but it gets worse, they automatically add in 'gratuity' which was like $12 so now I've paid $124 for something that costs $50. You would think it ends there but there was an extra slot in the receipt to tip and my dumbass still tipped him like $6 extra so yeah I probably deserved to be finessed.
