On the weekends it can get pretty packed and pretty loud as well. Parking can get a little rough you may need to park across the street or somewhere on the side streets. Just ate there last night. We have eaten there on 3 other occasions and it wasnt too bad. The beans they serve with the chips and salsa are delicious but they used to serve them in a little salsa bowl. This time around they served them in a sample cup I KID YOU NOT. We were a large party and when I saw their sample cups of beans and salsa I asked for more since we were more people. I was told they were out and would bring some when they have more, everyone around us kept getting some but they were out for us. I ordered breaded shrimp for my daughter and they were supposed to come with rice and salad. I got POPCORN shrimp. It was like they cut up a large shrimp and breaded its parts and tried to pass them as regular sized. Not to mention the shrimp in the picture were 3 times the size of what we got. The rice was super mushy. This crappy dish made my daughter sick. Another dish that was ordered was shrimp and chicken in mango salsa. They werent kiding about the mango salsa. The measly 4 shrimp I got were DROWNED in the mango salsa on a bed of more mushy rice. The chicken tasted like those frozen chicken strips used in precooked frozen pasta dishes. I had fried tilapia and a michelada. The food was good and came out on time, as did the drink. No complaints about the kitchen staff. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh. The service, however, was sub-par and not what I expected. It was Friday, so they had a live band. That is a big draw and the music is nice. We just weren't expecting it to be so loud. We came in with a 1 year old baby and were seated at a booth directly in front of the speakers before we realized a band was going to play. We received our drinks and put a food order in when they started playing. The volume out of the speakers was so loud that you could not speak without shouting. And the volume could not have been good for the baby. I brought it up to the waitress, eventually, that "we weren't expecting it to be this loud when we sat down", but she just stared at my like I was an idiot, walked away and did nothing about it. When we finished our food, the plates sat there empty for about ten minutes. Our server made eye contact with me three times before she came over so we could be bussed and given our check. With the check, came the manager. I shared with him exactly what I said to the server and he, at first, thought we just didn't like the music, saying "people request this type of music". I repeated "we didn't expect to be seated in front of the loud speaker with a baby" and that it was "too loud for his ears". He only said sorry and that was the end of his complaint resolution. I worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years in all positions of the restaurant. Even at small places I worked at, our complaint resolution was never just a half-hearted apology with an excuse, but offered incentive to return through problem solving (offering to move us earlier or turning the volume of the speaker down just a bit so that we might stay for another drink or a dessert) or a small monetary incentive to come back (offering a discount). Based off of my experience and my unbiased first impression of the restaurant, their servers and managers are not skilled at complaint resolution or problem solving. They need more consideration and overall desire for encouraging repeat business. read more

I am currently sitting down at the restaurant writing this review because I am so disappointed with the service here. I've been here one time before and the service was okay but the food was amazing. This time has been a different story. My friend, brother and I ordered 3 very different items so we knew logically they should come out at different times. HOWEVER, in the 30 minutes it took to get our food ready, the server was no where to refill our drinks or service us at all. She instead was chatting the people at the bar. This time, I got my Ecnhiladas Michacoanas and they were cold to the touch. My brother ordered a soup that took a lot longer and the expo/server probably left my plate there to get cold. When I told her that my plate was cold, she took it back. The same plate I had one minutes before was brought back to me, instead of being served a new plate. I tried it anyway but it was not quality at all, reheating enchiladas makes them not near the quality of when they are first made. I left my plate untouched and if I wouldn't have asked our server to speak to the manager, she probably would have ignored the problem. She was, however, very kind and shes probably just newer but this is the second time service is subpar out of the two times I have been here. When I spoke to the manager, he was very kind and understanding. But I really hope that they never just try to reheat a plate again. That's absolutely terrible server. Not the case here. My wife had the salmon salad. Kind of pricey for a plate of lettuce with a salmon filet on top. Overall, I was not impressed. Menu too big, lacking basic combo plates. Went to see what this restaurant was like, the waitress took forever to attend us and we were sitting outside in the patio area in the heat. Took another long while to get us our drinks. Ordered a carne asada torta and the meat had a lot of fat and gristle on it. The Chile relleno plate my wife ordered had a hair in it and the chips were stale. My wife wanted me to leave them a tip regardless of the service so I wrote $5.00 as a tip on the receipt when I paid with my card but when my bank processed it turned out that the lady at the register added a 1 in front of the $5.00 and treated themselves to a $15.00 tip instead. Horrible service, horrible food, and they steal if you don't watch the tip section of the check. I will never go back and will not recommend anyone to this place, not even my worst enemy!
