This spot isn't bad but wasn't great and was oddly expensive for what I got. Food was seasoned well and not too greasy. The customer service was alright but after dropping off the food we never really saw them again. A surprise mariachi band showed up to play live music, it was just a little loud given the space. read more

I came into Mr. Taco while I was waiting for my car's service to be finished right next door. This little place really packs a punch. Selection: I came in around Saturday at 9 am and it seemed like the local hangout for some drinks and great food that morning! I was super hungry for some breakfast and they had a wide selection. I ended up getting Chilaquiles with chicken and a birria breakfast burrito with was super affordable. Definitely wanna come back next time to try the oysters! read more

We were seated immediately, and our waitress was friendly throughout the meal. Each couple ordered pizzas along with appetizers and drinks. We ordered the Italian salad but were accidentally brought the Green Goddess instead. It was a harmless mistake, and since we had enjoyed that salad during our previous visit, we happily kept it. Our friends received their pizzas, and we assumed ours would follow shortly. Thirty minutes passed, and by then our friends were nearly finished eating. Meanwhile, we noticed several tables that had arrived after us receiving their food before we did. We asked our waitress to check on our order. She went back to the kitchen and returned, explaining that our pizza had apparently been forgotten and was only then being made. She assured us it would take no more than 10 minutes. Fifteen more minutes passed, and our pizza still hadn't arrived. Since we had a clear view of the kitchen, it didn't appear there was any urgency to get our order out. At that point, after waiting nearly an hour since placing our order, we had to cancel it because we had other plans and couldn't stay any longer. Our waitress apologized and removed the pizza from our bill, but that was the only resolution offered. While we appreciated her kindness, we left the restaurant disappointed and still hungry. Mistakes happen, and forgetting an order is understandable from time to time. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. After waiting an hour for a forgotten order, we had hoped for a more meaningful effort to make things right beyond simply removing the item we never received. It's unfortunate because we genuinely loved this restaurant after our first visit and were excited to introduce it to our friends. Thankfully, our friends enjoyed their meals, but this experience left us hesitant to return. Great pizza is important, but great service and how a restaurant responds when things go wrong are what keep customers coming back.

Their coffee, tea, and baked goods are fantastic, but the main reason I love this place is because it's very cozy and the perfect place to read, study, catch up with a friend, or go on a date. They have a special, themed menu that changes every month. There is almost always seating available. They have a small book exchange, often sell local art, have cute merch, and just opened up a bakery right next door with extra seating. I'm kind of a snobbish third-wave coffee person and although this place isn't trying to be that way, it still is my favorite spot because of the overall vibe, how genuinely kind and down to earth the baristas are, and how comfortable it is. A lot of coffee shops are so brightly lit and trying to be hipster still in 2026, but this place is just kind of homey and the classic cozy coffee shop we all want to go to. The restaurant was packed, and it actually surprised me because I don't usually see that many people at restaurants in Riverside. The energy inside felt lively but still comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the fresh tortillas. They come out hot and fresh from the oven, and you can literally watch them being made right in front of you, which made it even better. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. The fajitas were incredible, the meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky sear that comes from being cooked fresh on a hot skillet. Everything came out sizzling and stayed flavorful with every bite. The chile relleno was also really good, with a nice balance of savory and slightly creamy filling that paired well with the sauce. It was actually my first time trying fajitas, and I can confidently say I'll be ordering them again the next time I come back. I did not like the fact that it wasn't mentioned that the beans are made with bacon until AFTER we received our food! My dad doesn't eat meat and the rice is made with chicken as well. The server did bring him something else but this needs to be stated on the menu or upon ordering! We were sat right next to where they made the tortillas and can see them being made since they had glass windows around it. However, there was one gentleman that was making tortillas who was on his cell phone texting or whatever CONSTANTLY at the same time while doing this. He had a glove on one hand and no glove on the other, and was touching the tortilla dough.....We all know how dirty a cell phone is! And what made it worse is at one point he itched the inside of his nose with his finger, and didn't even wash his hands or have gloves on after that. Definitely made my stomach turn and what caused me to go and write this review. I suggest a camera be placed at the tortilla station, add the notes about bacon in the beans and chicken in the rice, and add bell peppers to the fajitas. Also, maybe give the option of meatless beans and rice for the non-meat eaters

Don't EVER go there seriously one of the worst dining experiences of my life! The food is mediocre at best and the place is jam packed with cholos and drug dealers! The food is nicely presented but lacks any flavor and is generally over cooked. They are seriously understaffed and their labor practices seem exploitative. There were at least 75 people with only one server, one cashier and 2 cooks (from what I could see but the place is super small so you can see pretty much see everything from everywhere). The customers were drinking A LOT and the young server was just trying to avoid being groped by the drunk cholos and other lowlifes. The prices are low for very large portions but it's definitely not worth it. At one table there were two bald headed cholos in white t-shirts counting thousands of dollars in hundred dollar bills out in the open.While ordering 40 after 40. The craziest part is we weren't there very long at all because an even rougher crowd started rolling in and we literally just left our food and got the hell out of there. It's seriously dangerous. I'm surprised nobody has been killed there. It's not often that you stop to get a bite to eat and leave feeling lucky you got out of there alive! read more

She wouldn't even do that. I given Mr Taco 5 stars in the PAST. After that last experience u guys definitely DO NOT DESERVE THAT. I will never go to this place ever again. I was still very upset that I wasted my money on my food like legit this time I wasted my food. I didn't even finish my nachos I ended up throwing it away. Terrible terrible service and they will never replicate the same meal, burrito, taco, etc. I have to admit. When they make it right 1 of 4 times then it is really good. If you want to dine in. It is more for the rowdy crowd. Music is blasting so you cannot talk and it is a bunch of men drinking beer. They don't respond to feedback or complaints. If you get the wrong order. They will say, no it's not. Haha. I am a gambling man. So I have eaten here a lot in hopes of a 1 in 4 chance of good food. I live 1 minute away also. read more

Zacatecas is a family owned, authentic, traditional Mexican style restaurant, and they've been open since 1969. You know this place is good because they close at 3pm everyday and they stay in business. We ordered 2 Large Menudos and 1 Shredded Beef Taco and I did find the pricing very steep. It was almost $50. The menudo, alone, was $19 each. The menudo is full bodied and rich in flavor. This is one that actually doesn't need a lot of lemon because of that. It includes the menudo spices, oregano, lemon, cilantro, onions, and corn tortillas. I can make 2-3 meals out of the portion, so it's definitely shareable. This was the 1st time I was absolutely disappointed in the shredded beef taco (due to packaging). We got it to go and they wrapped it in foil and placed it between two hot bowls or menudo. By the time I got home, the cheese was melted and the lettuce was completely wilted. It made it almost inedible. If you dine in, they actually give you hot mole sauce to enjoy with your chips and salsa but if you get it to go, they charge you. I don't understand that but that's how it's always been. This restaurant also offers catering and can host events up to 150 people. Something to keep in mind if planning a party or event. The ambiance is perfect of an evening event. With the exception of my shredded beef taco, this remains one of my favorite Mexican food spots

But the carne asada is a good place to start. The prices are covered since the first visit but given costs of food and fluctuations, it's understandable. I ate a big, messy, delicious carne asada burrito the first time, and their salsas also made everything better. The most recent visit saw me going a different direction by choosing the taco salad, in a large fried tortilla bowl. From the bottom up were: Beans, rice, carne asada (or any other meat you want), lettuce and, and tomatoes and avocado on top. I was surprised how filling it was, and it tasted so good, too. I suppose I'll try their tacos next and explore more from there in subsequent trips.
