Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday and the place was hopping'! Had the ultimate scramble and was ok, eggs and hash browns were good, but I didn't realize it was cheese sauce that was going to be on it as opposed to real cheese and the ham was thin sliced deli ham. My daughter had the French toast and it was good. I'd like to come back and try some other menu items though since it's so close to home for me and like I said, was very busy so I probably just didn't order the right thing. Great little diner in downtown Germantown. Stopped in here to meet some family while in town for Christmas. I thought that it had a very 'family run' feel to it, which I love. As you can see by my previous review, I wasn't impressed at all by my only other stop at Ivee's. I decided to give them another chance when I learned that they have a breakfast burrito. I ordered one for pickup to go without green chilies and added bacon inside. The menu on their website as of 12/24/2021 states that their breakfast burrito has sausage, egg, and cheese in a grilled tortilla and comes with salsa, sour cream, and hash browns. A picture of the burrito that I saw on social media, though, looked like it had hash browns inside the burrito instead of on the side like the menu implies. The first thing I did when I called was ask what actually comes in it because the information I had was contradictory. Apparently the burrito comes with sausage, egg, cheese, hash browns, and green chilies (which aren't mentioned at all on the online menu) all inside it. Quite different from the online menu description. I received a side of salsa but didn't receive the sour cream. I wouldn't have used it anyway so I'm not mad about it, but again, yet another thing that's different from the online menu. The tortilla wasn't grilled at all and was only warm because of the contents inside. They added a good amount of bacon inside, to the point where it overshadowed the sausage. It's not my favorite breakfast burrito, but it wasn't bad. It would be my pick if I HAD to go to Ivee's again, but Town 9 Tap in Richfield and Kurt Schultz Deli in Brown Deer aren't too far of a drive for breakfast burritos that I prefer. read more

We recently had our awards banquet at Ivee's and it was great. They were so friendly and they accommodated us in every way possible. The food was awesome and service was fast. They really knew how to make us feel welcome and enjoy our banquet. I have also been there before for a hamburger to go and it also was awesome. The dining room was clean, neat and the menu has many choices for any mood you are in. Alright not really in the mood to overanalyze everything here, kinda is what it is in this case. I've eaten at Ivee's 3 or 4 times in the past few years. No complaints on the service and the food's usually good. I like their Eye Opener Burger...fried egg with bacon and American cheese on top. I've never tried it, but their brunch menu definitely looks on point. One of my friends pointed out this is the only place we've ever known to substitute toast for pancakes....UNHEARD of, right?! Also like to point out that this place seems to have a ginormous 4 page menu so likely to find something for everyone. The atmosphere is that of any laid back bar. There's a horseshoe bar surrounded by tables and booths around it. There were a couple families and some younger people alike dining or just drinking. Anyhow, seemed like an acceptable place to bring children (stopped in during lunch last Sunday), but I'm unsure of the night crowd. read more

This was one of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. I went to Ivee's for dinner with a friend. We chose to eat outside because it seemed like it would be quieter and brighter than inside. It was brighter but not really quieter. There are TVs outside too and they are blaring. No one outside seemed interested in what was on and it wasn't a game night or anything so it was unnecessary and annoying. Drinks: I ordered a margarita (on special for $2.99). I'm pretty sure it was just Jose Cuervo ready-to-drink, which would be pretty hard to screw up, so it was fine. My friend ordered Jack and Diet Coke which was also fine. So far so good. Dinner: I ordered the deep fried scallops and chose soup for my side. My friend ordered a chicken breast with no bun, and soup for her side. The soup was decent. The crackers were stale. When the server brought our entrees, she brought three plates, two of which were ours. She seemed very confused as to why two people didn't need three entrees. Then she tried to take all three entrees away...we called her back and explained which ones were ours. She was still confused. My scallops came with fries (my soup was my side so I don't know why I got fries). The scallops were obviously from a bag of frozen, breaded scallops. It's a bar. I didn't expect fresh seafood. But I did expect them to have some flavor. When I cut into them, they leaked milky white liquid. They tasted like nothing. The fries were soggy. The breadstick was ok. I ate maybe half of my dinner. (The menu says a "generous" portion of scallops...they were tiny and there may have been 6 or 7 on the plate. Hardly generous.) My friend's chicken breast was topped with cheese and included pickles. She had one bite of the chicken. The texture was off and it didn't taste right. She ate the cheese and pickles. This was our first and last time at Ivee's. We went to an event immediately following and when people asked how our dinner was we told them the truth. We should've looked more closely at the reviews for this place. We basically each had a $20 drink with soup because that was all that was acceptable. Lesson learned. read more

We were looking for a new breakfast place and Ivee's has been on our radar for sometime. However, wheneve we drive by this place the parking was always full, and that is a good thing. So today we were not disappointed when chose to park and walk in. This place is bigger than it looks from the outside and it has a nice dinning area that is not crowded and a big bar that was packed with long time patrons. It was like a cheers vibe, the staff knew almost every regular and greeted them as they entered the door. To start, the service was pretty good considering the two ladies working the dinning area and maybe even the bar area where really busy, they did a great job. For the food, my wife ordered the two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. She loves crispy hash browns and they were spot on. My breakfast burrito was a monster as the picture shows, it was longer the dinner plate. I think it was a three egg scramble with cheese, sausage, mushrooms and hash browns. It was really tasty, and a lot of food, although I did accidentally leave my leftovers at Ivee's and didn't realize it until we got home. Anyway, the only thing that could improve the breakfast burrito would be to put it on the flat top for 20 to 30 seconds on each side, because the tortilla was straight of the bag. We will definitely be back for breakfast and probably even lunch or dinner in the next few weeks. read more

Terrible Food! Me and my husband tried this place because we like going to different places for breakfast/brunch. The food was bland not seasoned at all, but his French toast was SALTY!??? His eggs just had a piece of what seemed like store bought packaged cheese melted on top of them and this was for him asking to "add cheese" to his eggs. My steak and eggs were COLD and not seasoned at all. Why this place had most of their tables filling up is beyond us. People just want cheap thrown together food I guess. You pay for what you get although a tiny piece of steak with eggs should not cost $14 in the condition they came out of kitchen. That meal should've been about $6. We will cross this off our list. Went to Ivee's for lunch today, my first time. They weren't busy, a couple people eating at the bar. They have lots of TV's, which can be great to watch games. It's not so great when they have Fox News blasting through the speakers. Even outside speakers! I will not go back. Had a burger, which was fine, nothing special. Very irritated to have to listen to such a politically biased program on while eating. I just wanted a relaxing lunch, and that was not possible when you have to listen to polarizing politics over lunch. read more

At lunch in the early afternoon, this place leaned more restaurant than bar. It was a nice spring afternoon and the door was propped open to let in a refreshing breeze. The place was bustling, but not crowded. The menu was surprisingly large and even breakfast was still available. This may explain why the kitchen was a smidgen on the slow side. Both the tap and bottled beer selection was pretty good - not extensive, but featuring many classics and some seasonal beers, too. Jalapeno poppers were served piping hot. My beef noodle soup was unremarkable, but my Santa Fe chicken sandwich made up for it, with fresh ingredients, well prepared, and served on a nicely toasted bun. Service was friendly and efficient. Ivee's, I really want to love you, but I cannot. I should probably drop this to 2 stars, but in general you just want to like this place. It feels like the center of town, they typically have sports on the TV, not NASCAR, like sports... baseball, football, basketball. The beer selection will usually include two decent local choices from New Glarus or Sprecher or Lakefront... ...then the food. Never really good. Always acceptable, but never really good. Pizza sauce is overly sweet and the dough just OK. The burgers and chicken tend to be dry. Fish fry, No. The specials are never that special. I have not seen the poor service others speak of. In fact, I think the service is typically pretty good. We keep going back because the vibe is nice and the prices reasonable, but man if they could take the food up a notch or two this place would be a real gem. read more

I've always enjoyed the food and the ticket times and service has gotten a lot better. My only issue is that it can get very cold in there. When we asked the staff to turn the a.c. down, we were informed that the owner controls the temp via digital thermostat (I'm guessing a Nest), doesn't let the staff change it, and won't change it even when customers complain. One would think if multiple customers complain about the place being too cold that the owner would be willing to change it. And my party was not the only table complaining that time. All in all, this is a great local greasy spoon that really knows good comfort food. Try the bacon cheeseburger and fish fry. Horrible fish fry. Stay away from here if you want anything besides a good drink. I had the beer battered cod. There was no crunch, it was soggy on the outside. Food is good but service was terrible!! We went in August for breakfast. Very good breakfast but the service was not good. She took our order and delivered the food. That was it. Had to ask several times for drink items that were missed and to get the bill. Stopped in again last Sunday for breakfast. Any place with decent food...afterall, I'm willing to give them a 2nd chance on service. But again, bad service. Forgot to bring drinks/food items. My daughter spilled her milk. Even though the server saw it, she didn't even offer to help clean up. We had to go over to the server station to get napkins and then one of the servers complained we were using too many napkins. Last weekend we were looking for a place to have lunch. We stopped at Ivee's -- a place we normally just order fish fry dinners. We sat on the patio outside which was comfortable. 3 of the five of us got the Ivee's half pound burger. It was exceptional--cooked perfectly, juicy, with perfect char on the outside, with great flavor!Get it topped with your choice of cheese, and other toppings. The best burger in town, in my opinion. We used to love this place. Ordered over the weekend. My husband and I both got burgers. They both were missing the bacon. Mine was cold and not cooked all the way through. I also ordered for the bun to be in a separate container and it wasn't. Just a soggy nasty mess. Two bites in and it was just awful. My husband's burger was just as bad. Spent $40 on food to be thrown out! We called and they claimed owner would call us back next day. That did Not happen. I called again Monday about it and got the same run around that the owner would call back. It's now Thursday. Just awful customer service! I understand places have bad nights but they could've at least made it right. Waste of money! read more

My experience at Ivee's would always leave me satisfied however there are a few things to point out about that restaurant that could use some improvements. For starters, they should expand their parking lot and the entrance of the building so it won't be too crowded for people to leave and coming in. Another suggestion would be expanding their tables so that tall and large people will enough space between other people. On the bright side, they do serve delicious popcorn which is complementary and take as much as u want. Their Friday fish fry is outstanding as well as the rest of the food. My wife and I were very impressed when we walked into Ivee's At Main. Expecting a bar and grill, we were pleasantly surprised with the comfortable feel of the dining area. The bar is center stage, but does not detract from the cleanliness of the eating area. We were greeted by Kayla who was very friendly and told us about the Fish Fry Special including Blue Gill only on Wednesdays. I decided on the Blue Gill, which came with 6 nice size filets, lightly breaded with a light crispy crunch. The fries were piled high, perfectly golden. My wife ordered the BBQ ribs and was happy with the delicious, tangy sauce. The portions were sufficient for us to have leftovers for lunch the next day. This can become a frequent stop for us. Best burgers around. The patties are cooked perfectly - juicy on the inside, slightly charred on the outside, and seasoned just right. The buns are high quality and well proportioned (just big enough to keep everything from falling apart). The fixings are fresh and thoughtfully combined. The fries, in my experience, have been served crisp and piping hot -- not soggy as a previous poster has reported. They're not overly flavorful, but with a dash of salt and pepper they taste just fine. All in all, and excellent bar burger. read more
