The dark atmosphere and heavy, dark all-wood decor gives a vibe you can't find at any chain eatery. Our server, Bailey, was great at just simply interacting on a human level and making us out-of-towners feel welcome in what is obviously a locals hang-out. And yes, I got my cheese curds. The Stillery serves up drinks and elevated pub food in a casual setting. We stopped by on a Sunday evening after a trip to nearby Cabela's. We started with drinks. I got the Manhattan off their specialty menu and my husband got their autumn barrel Manhattan. After trying both--highly recommend the one off their specialty menu. It was definitely superior quality. It's served over a block of ice so if you want it up, you may want to mention that when ordering. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. I had a bite and he ordered well--it was decadently buttery and delicious. The service was super kind throughout our stay. Our server checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Place is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Inside is quaint. It's got some nice decor and a nice back bar area. We went on a Friday around 6ish and it was packed. Be prepared to wait if you are a party of 2. Servers and hostess were very pleasant. There were no complaints amongst our party of 6. Nothing stood out as "I have to come back for this" but nothing was flat out bad. Good food in general but none of us got anything g unique. Menu has decent diversity and was recently updated to refine the previous plethora of options. I'd definitely come back and try something different. We were staying close to here so decided to order for pick up. Not disappointed. The kids all enjoyed their food. My buffalo chicken wrap was really good. The fries were a little soggy but that's hard to not have happen with takeout. The pretzels and cheese dip were good too. A little too salty for me though. Service was as promised. While the parking lot was packed on a random Thursday for lunch there was still plenty of seating both inside and outside. Overall the service was good. My daughter ordered the chicken bites off the kids menu and fries. She liked both. I had the club and sweet potato fries. They were both really good, however it was a lot of bread. First time here was great so we decided to come again tonight. Father's Day special included beef ribs for 29.99. I got two little beef ribs with a lot of sweet potatoes. I complained to our waitress about the portion of ribs that were not fat and the fact that one of the small ribs was cold. Manager came over and said that was the correct portion size and indicated he would get another order. Got the check. Charged twice. Manager said it was correct and that I cursed at his waitress which I definitely did not do. I told him that the second order was much larger and hot and had that been served the first time I would have not complained. He refused to take one of the orders off the bill. Needless to say I will not be returning to this restaurant based on this managers reaction to my complaint! read more

I was starving, driving in the darkness when I found this lovely spot, with a "OPEN" illuminated sign. I loved the pub vibe instantly and such warm service from the staff, in 15 degree temps outside. We went during Mardi Gra time so the food special followed this theme. Hubby had gumbo, which he really liked and blackened chicken also very good. I had the bone in wings which were delicious. We sat at the bar, which was our choice. Bartender (owner) served us drinks & meals. He is a real pro doing drinks for dining room & being server for the bar area while staying calm and communicating with staff & customers. I would think he is very interactive with the bar patrons when it is not busy with how i saw people banter with him. It was a fun atmosphere! Popped in for an impromptu date night on a Wednesday. Kind of in the middle of nowhere which is nice but don't be worried you went the wrong way. Service was speedy, attentive, and very pleasant. Lots of food options all at reasonable prices and there's about 9 other things on the menu I want to go back and try. The rye roll with the fish fry was probably my favorite part. My only regret is not getting dessert because they looked and sounded amazing! My only negative is inside was pretty loud so we opted to sit outside. Which was a nice idea in theory except the outdoors seating is next to the parking lot and the highway so it was pretty loud outside too. Its places like The Stillery that make it why you gotta be the Yelper in your group. I found this off the beaten path gem on Yelp when in this area with a friend on a day excursion. Not from the area and being of discerning taste, to Yelp I went. I knew this was a good decision when we sat outside on this seasonably appropriate Saturday afternoon in October and got the lone free table in the whole place. A second good sign was the variety of groups choosing to eat here. From families containing toddlers to grandparents, couples, and girl groups like ours the variety was a positive. I ordered a Milwaukee Pretzel for the table app, and the Jack Daniels infused chili and sweet chili cauliflower as my main. Friend had some kind of salad. Everything was fresh, tasty, and the right portion size. There were other items we were interested in too, so would certainly stop again if in the area. Service was attentive and friendly. read more

My husband and I stopped by around 6:30 on a Friday night and the place was packed! We've been to the Grafton location and knew it was good. We recently moved to Germantown and wanted to try the Richfield location. We waited an hour to be seated, but it was fine as we sat at the bar that had over 400 whiskey's. My husband is a whiskey drinker so he loved it. The service was very attentive both at the bar and when we had dinner. We split cauliflower for an app, I had the baked cod, my husband had the cod sandwich and all were good. We will be back as this was a fun place! read more

Had heard about the Stillery for a while but had never been.Was going to go somewhere else,but they were closed ,so my friend recommended The Stillery, off we went.Nice, clean and pretty busy on a Thursday night. Good selection of the usual on taps(spotted cow and summer shandy) among others.Decent menu and selection of burgers ,sandwiches etc.Had the mushroom and Swiss with house fries(a cross between chips and fries, very different, but delicious).Tasty burger came out pretty fast and hot,good quality and, in general ,well cooked. My husband decided to try the Stillery since we are fans of bourbon and whiskey. We arrived a little before 6, and it was quite busy already. There is a large parking lot with paved and unpaved spaces. It's really loud in the dining area, so if you are looking for a quiet night, this is not your place. Like the frequently cackling laughs of late 30s/middle-aged folks loud. The interior is nicely decorated with Wisconsin theme decor and whiskey barrels and barrel tops. Now to the most important part; the food and drinks. The bone in chicken wings with Buffalo sauce is cooked perfectly without being dried out and has the right amount of sauce. My first meal was the Oreo ice cream ball, which is enough for 3-4 people. The fried tortilla shell was tasty and fluffy. The dessert fulfilled my sweet craving, but I couldn't finish it since it was very rich. We ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, which I don't recommend. It was not very good. Sauce was flavorless, and so was the cheese. What I do recommend is the Garlic Mushroom Swiss burger and the Classic Fish Fry. I would skip the sweet potato fries. Those were just so-so. Staff has always been friendly and attentive the few times I have been there. We were comped a couple of drinks since my Avocado Steak Salad was sans avocado. I just love this place! This is my go to when I need the beer, cheese and pretzel fix. Melting your mouth spotted cow, beer cheese knock it out of the park and the pretzel bites are buttery delicious thought I'd think outside the box and try the cauliflower tacos and they were amazing, with all the toppings, including avocado and pickled cabbage was an explosion of flavor and every bite service was wonderful and friendly and I can't wait to go back and try other things. read more

This is a great bar and restaurant. The bar is especially geared toward bourbon lovers, they have exclusive bottles, a bourbon club, and events. But they also have lots of good non Bourbon specialty drinks, with rotating specials every month. The food is definitely elevated bar food and is more creative than most places around. I also tried the cod fish fry which was good though I found the potato pancakes underwhelming though the fries are good so I'd go for those in the future. read more

Rustic whiskey bar with great food! The Cuban rolls for an appetizer are incredible. So good I forgot to take a picture because I knew how good they were. My favorite main item on the menu is the shrimp tacos. They're loaded with toppings and they don't skimp on the shrimp with great flavor. Just recently tried their burgers and pizza which were both delicious! Highly recommend the stillery burger. Also the pizza is very thin crust similar to a Milwaukee style pizza. What an experience this was! My friend and I had lunch there today, our first -and not last time. From the minute we walked in (at 11 am) every single staff person, starting with the bartender greeted us. We were seated by Kristy, who never stopped smiling, and I was so happy to learn they have beyond burgers and gluten free buns for me. My friend had the chicken sandwich, and she devoured it. Came here on Sunday for an early dinner. Got seated right away. Not too busy. Our server was quick and attentive. We ordered cheese curds, wings and burgers. The curds here are pretty good, standard for WI. For the wings they allow a sauce per 6 wings. We opted for a dozen and went with their Stillery sauce which is a Jack Daniel's sweet bbq sauce and the mango habanero. Both were pretty sweet IMO. Big meaty wings. I got the beer cheese burger which was ginormous. Got halfway thru and was maxed out. My friend got the Stillery burger and ate about 1/3 of hers lol. Overall great meal and superb drink selection.
