Date of visit: July 2, 2026 I came here with a friend after her daughter raved about it and it was overall a nice meal. The restaurant is slightly awkward in its layout, with a small dining area and a bar in the front plus a larger dining area in the rear. We were promptly greeted by the bartender and given a larger than necessary table--though it did let us spread out a bit so I wasn't too worried about it. We could not see how busy the rest of the restaurant was but we imagined it was fairly steady given the wait. Since we had not seen each other in a while the time passed easily and we didn't mind the wait. Staff was all nice and friendly and ensured that our water glasses were kept full. My Kickin' Bourbon Burger was pretty good, though the tots on the side were a bit underwhelming in terms of portion. Meanwhile my friend's portion of chips was taking over her plate and we were both looking for a bit more moderation in our side items! If you wanted something spicy, this is not the one! That was good for me but may not be what you were looking for. I thought it odd that I wasn't asked for what temperature I wanted my burger and probably would have appreciated it a tad less done than what I received, but overall it was a pretty decent burger. Watched as the older female waitress sat in the corner on her phone, and tried to walk away immediately after checking on the table when we wanted to order drinks. Terrible service, poor food. Second time here, loved the CPR burger the first, and tried the farm house burger this time which had bacon, fried egg and onions. It was very good, bacon was thin and crispy, not a lot of onions but overall flavor was good, solid burger. And I don't like pickles but the fried pickles were something I'd get every time, cheese curds also decent. Great spot for a lunch, friendly service as well. read more

We've heard this place was good, so we had to try it for ourselves. We had our puppy, so we ate outside. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. I had the Wedge salad and the CPR platter and really enjoyed it. My wife had the Hot Dam Chicken, which she loved and said she'd order again. We both loved the fantastic fries. The owners seem like really horrible people to work for and the guy who I assume is an owner or son of the owners wife is a real entitled Karen who should rethink her life. Can't say enough about this burger bar!! I rated it before and thought it was good. I'm now living in this community and love this place even more. Thank goodness my service dog doesn't mind walking about 3 miles to get here. It's a great walking community so I get a walk as a bonus. Anyway, the burgers here are ridiculously good! **Visit 28 Oct 22** Finally had a meal here after 4 years of talking about it and it was worth the wait with today's visit. This building has historical value in Thiensville, as I take it, the building has been part of the community since 1855, if the provided information is correct (related by Uncle Google). Our visit was for both of to try one of their specialty burgers; however the Fish fry smelled delicious and with the nudge of the bartender/server, I just had to order the dish. The pictures shown of the fish fry, hopefully shows the amount of food you receive for about $13, and it is well worth it. The fish was not greasy, even to the last filet, nor was it fishy in taste or smell. I am not usually a fan of coleslaw, but this was pretty darn good. The fries are hand cut and again, not greasy, but could be a little crunchier. My wife had the Cowboy burger, "well done" of course, not my preference but she said it was still nice and moist with a great flavor. If your don't voice your opinion on the doneness of the burger, it will be a juicy medium with no pink, sounds delicious! We will definitely be back in the next few weeks, as it is a 20 minute drive to Skippy's, but worth the drive. Check out Skippy's as soon as you can! read more

Skippy's I wanted to love you for your name and great prices but alas I couldn't gloss over the service issues. For 4 bucks a bacon cheeseburger and fries on a Saturday is an amazing deal but the service was horrid. Why a 3 star review vs. something less? As stated earlier good pricing and also decent food so that upgrades from a two star to a three star review. We waited forever to order and to get our bill so thumbs down. Went to Skippy's today for lunch . Ordered a crispy chicken wrap . The food came promptly and the waitress was nice . The wrap used however was stale and leathery. I sent my food back . The waitress asked if I would like another and I said no thank you my appetite was ruined . The bill came and I had assumed my food would have been removed from the bill but it was not . I flagged the waitress over and she went back and talked to whomever was in charge and they said all they could do was give me 25% off of my bill because I ate some of the French fries . I told her after I tipped her $20 to tell her boss I don't need their lousy 25% off and I paid the entire bill and I will never be back there again . And that includes the other people that were at my table . I thought that was so crappy to serve me substandard food and then say well you ate some of the fries that negates the whole Bad Sandwich . I can't say that I am a regular at this place but I can say that I've been there at least 10 times . But yeah that ship has sailed because of a really crappy manager or owner or whoever it was and the bad food . read more

Also, enjoyed their log cabin tots with cheese, bacon, onion and maple mayo. What a treat! Skippy's is the best of two worlds. You walk in and it is the town's watering hole where everyone knows each other and people can play pool or buy a pack of smokes from the bartender. On the other hand, once you lay eyes on their stunning burger lineup you will question if this dive can really muster the flavor their menu seems to boast. Sit on their leather couch in a nook in back or on the patio-ware outside while enjoying the water flow over the Thiensville dam as you ponder what griddle-fried burger you want to enjoy. They have burgers from the standbys to the artistic. My first Skippy's burger was the Better Mac which turns the Big Mac into a pub burger. I have driven past this location a few times and recognized the building as a bar I used to frequent; I finally decided to try out the new ownership. The establishment is a beautiful location across the street from the river. There is a decent parking lot that I don't imagine gets too full and plenty of street parking. We brought the dogs over dinner hour. We sat outside where there were plenty of tables. With it being sunny, we chose a table with an umbrella. The only umbrella tables were connected to another table, making them six-tops. When the server came over we explained that we wanted a table with shade. He was concerned that the other server would be upset about our placement so I explained that we didn't want to create an issue and offered to move. He said something to the effect of "if it's all the same to you, could you go to this table?" and gestured to a table without an umbrella and not shaded. It was not the same but we loved anyway. I didn't know if there was tension between the other server or if he was new, either way I didn't want to be a problem. The vibe was laid back burger bar with a nice drink selection and creative burger options. I had a Tito's press in the tiniest glass. The server initially asked if I want a double, which I didn't. After I saw the glass, I realized that a "double" is a "large." The next round I ordered a double and was given a bigger cup. Service was pretty slow but I know it's hard to find work right now. For a burger bar, the parties were thin and there was no option on doneness. The burger was good nonetheless. If you're looking for a place with many burger options, I recommend you try them out! read more

I am so glad curbside pick up brought us to this spot! My husband was craving a quarantine burger so we decided to try this out. They have a long list of burgers to choose from, and the best part for me (a non burger person) is you can sub a veggie patty in any of them for no additional charge. He had the horsey melt and already wants another one. I got the guac veggie burger which was amazing!!! The veggie patty was delicious. My side of tots were your typical tots. He had the sour cream and chive "fries" which weren't fries but chunks of potato-still good just not fries! We shared a side of onion rings (because quarantine....) which were amazing! My wife and I like to take the trip out to Thiensville for Skippys and its always worth the trip. Skippys is my wife's favorite burger place and definitely on my top list for burger joints. The appetizers are all pretty good, I'd have to say that my favorite would be the jalapeño cream cheese wantons. As for the Burgers I like to order The Better Mac, skpiiys version of a big Mac. It is my and my wife's favorite burger on the menu and could be yours also if you give it a try.
