Bar food that's better than bar food, cheap bear ($4 Miller Light on tap and a dollar extra off on happy hour), and a lot machines if you need more entertainment than the TVs all make this a great bar at any time of the day

We arrived at SportClub after taking in the Third Ward Art Fair, and had a fabulous time. Service was top Not h, (thank you Thor), and it was a nice experience overall. This must be the place to meet up between Wedding events, because there were many guests from multiple weddings. Despite how busy SportClub was, we had the finest service! Thank You, SportClub fora memorable Labor Day!

Stopped in here on the first night in town because the kids wanted cheese curds and it was very close to our hotel. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that deter you. The menu is big and the setting is casual. Great service, food was delicious, portions were generous. Also kid friendly. My son wanted a house salad (not on the menu) and they put together a great salad - he said it's the second best salad he's ever had.

We ended up finding this sporty bar on our way to Summerfest. If you're looking for drinking options this is your place! They have a huge book just dedicated to varying beverage options. This place has a huge bar and lots of tvs.

We tried to stop in here 2 hours before game 6 of the NBA finals,, but the bar was full and we didn't want a table. We tried again the next day but they were closed, we thought they were recovering but we found the next day that there audio video was down. We sat at the bar and were a little slow to get served, then Maddie, very nice, friendly and helpful. There happy hour runs from 4-7. We had the garden salad with chicken, chicken tenders and spinach artichoke dip. All were very good and tasty for sure!

Interesting place. It's sort of like The Nomad's weird gentrified cousin. And while I never would have thought I would want something like that, it's not an unwelcome addition to the Cathedral Square/East Town area. The fact that the two establishments are related just leads to some cognitive dissonance. Sport Club is clean and spacious, with outlets installed in the bar and lots of windows. The Nomad has a grittier, Brady-Street sort of charm and is the place I go to cadge matchbooks. But some things, like the overall soccer theme, are the same. Like The Nomad, Sport Club has an impressive selection of beer. There were several interesting IPA's on tap when I visited. There are also decent happy hour specials. The food at Sport Club is oddly impressive. My first impression was that it's fairly upscale bar food with an international flavor. There are burgers and stuff, but also items like a chicken banh mi (which my seat-neighbor said was delicious) and a mezze platter. I could have gone the healthier route, and was also considering the banh mi, but I couldn't resist the salcipapas. It's a street snack from Peru and consists of fries and hot dogs topped with mayo and hot sauce. It was definitely not diet food but it was really good, although salty. The crowd was pretty fun and I'll have to stop back when I'm in the neighborhood.

mezze platter... we ordered and then both groups on either side ordered one too!

Totally forgot to review this place- which is too bad because it immediately felt like my new favorite bar to watch a game. They've made this location look great (lots of wood - windows- a huge center bar) and have diverse crowd (not all 20-somethings) as well as a couple games (shuffleboard and a small putt putt game) There's also a separate room that I'm pretty sure can be rented out. The menu (at least a couple months ago) wasnt huge but clearly well thought out with a little something for everyone. For example, while there's a burger on the menu theres also a vegetarian middle eastern platter and chicken satay. Huge windows looking out on Mason/Jefferson, lots of TV's (including a huge one on the south side of the place, ) and super friendly bartenders - it's a great addition to the Cathedral square area and perfect place to watch a game.

SportClub has the promise to be a truly happening spot all around for the Milwaukee food/bar scene. I've been twice and both times was not disappointed in the least bit. They are still working the kinks out but from my experience thus far, they should stay moving up. Everything I've had the pleasure of sampling has been on point. Service. Solid. They have a wait staff that seems to know for the most part, what they are doing. Attentive but not overly and knowledgeable of what it is they have on tap, bottled and coming out the kitchen. To me this is an ode to all things service industry and not be scoffed at. Take for example we came in on a mid-morning and looking for a Bloody Mary. Our tender said they are just putting together their signature mix but that he had enough to throw us something together. He hauled out the spices, the sauces, the juice and the liquor and blended us a concoction that was truly magnificent. Impressed I was to say the least. Especially for throwing the goods down on the fly. Atmosphere. Like no other. Owned by the same peeps that throw down at the Nomad I was super excited to check out this joint. A slight step up from the lovely dive-ish atmosphere of Nomad, SportClub is a hair more grown up but still as chill as can be. Big windows and lots of wood surround the space. It really is a great addition unlike any other on Jefferson St. The food! Woot Woot! Haven't had much but what I have had has been absolutely tasty. In particular, the SportClub dip is amazing. Don't sleep on anything this kitchen throws out. I've been wowed and can't wait to enjoy lunch, dinner or brunch at this spot. We shall see what the future holds for this new establishment. SportClub welcome to the neighborhood!

Great spot to watch a game. The food is much better than sports bar food. I had the Korean bowl and the Bahn Mi. Both were delicious with the bowl being better. Plus I love the sauces on the table. 1 small negative? The staff loves to chit chat with each other A LOT. Had to go to the bar and get my own drinks as I was tired of waiting. They all were friendly....they just like to visit i guess. In short, we will be back.

I loved the concept of District Fore, it was like Topgolf meets arcade meets backyard cookout. They offered many different games, such as a golf simulator, darts, and more. They usually only allow customers to rent out a game room in hour-long increments, but we were able to pay for a half hour of darts because we only had that much time before we had to leave for our event. I really appreciated the hospitality from all the staff during my visit to District Fore! We didn't eat dinner at District Fore, so I only got to try the cheese curds. They were so buttery and crispy, and the cheese pulls rivaled those of the Chili's mozzarella sticks! They were also much bigger in size than other cheese curds I have had during my time in Milwaukee. One order of the cheese curds appetizer was the perfect size to share between the four of us. I would love to see a District Fore Social open in my hometown, because I would definitely love to go back!

Very tasty sauce (hot honey garlic, at Thomas' recommendation) that wasn't overdone or underdone - just the right amount. I usually get my wings naked because so many places go wrong with the amount of sauce (usually just too drenched), but since we were on a timeline tonight, we just ordered without asking for anything else. So glad we did! By the way, not fried wings, so not super crunchy on the outside but still crispy and not at all soggy. And super moist, perfect temp inside. Tap Guinness Perfectly poured with just the right amount of cream on top. Hany is usually an IPA man, and went Guinness this time and did not regret it! Overall, this place is a little bit further away than the new hopping bars on the Deer District. I wanted to try the new places, so kept on trying them while hubby wanted to keep coming back here... and I'm glad we did this time. Sometimes new is good, but they've got it right here - I don't have to keep searching! Oh just one thing - all the TVs in the bar, and they have to play 60 minutes? Without captions? lol

We got lucky and had bar seats open up after about 5 minutes which allowed us to grab cocktails and relax. My wife chose the 2 piece cod fry with chips while I opted for the perch fry with fries. Everything was spectacular. The bartenders were jumping around each other to keep people happy at the bar and the rest of the staff get people's bellies filled with food. I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.

There was a good crowd there watching the game as well. It's an interesting setup, reminds me almost of a living room (with dining tables) and then the small bar area is to the side. To order food, you do it through two wall kiosks which I like because you can look at options and not feel rushed unless there's a line. Outside they have tables and a tv as well. I choose a veggie sandwich which had a good kick to it! The smaller size was good enough for me. It was a bit confusing how to get your food, from what we understood, you have to go through a door to get to the kitchen window (bathrooms are that way too) but no one calls your order number or anything. I'd suggest an improvement on that way you know your food is ready or maybe we missed something. Overall, I would return and would like to try other items on the menu!

The fries were awesome and plentiful. You can get a dusting of flavor on your fries and I got lemon pepper on mine. My only "complaint" for the burger is the brioche style bun is a bit overpowering and too much bread for the burger. I ended up just eating the patties, but this is my personal opinion.
