Great place for beer and a burger. We came after seeing all the amazing photos of pizza and burgers. But unfortunately they aren't serving pizza and only had one burger on the menu. The food was good and the beer was yummy. Will have to try again when the outdoor areas are more active.

The chicken sandwich was incredible and the fries were the real deal

This was my third or fourth time at the Ithaca beer Company. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. They always have a select few beers that you can only get at the brewery and I am always excited to try them. This trip it was the Indian Pale Lager. The food does change occasionally and tonight we decided to try the chicken sandwich which was almost like a chicken cutlet it was beyond incredible.

The food and beers are excellent. The outdoor patio is beautiful, but swarming with wasps. I liked the friendly service. The butchers board is recommended.

Our large group came on a Saturday late afternoon and waited 45 min for a table. We got a few beers while waiting: I recommend the apricot wheat, tropical ipa and blue raz sour. The Cornell mule was also good. I had the chicken bites, fry flight and Cornell chicken sandwich. The fry flight comes with ketchup, honey mustard and ranch. Not a fan of the ketchup as it tastes more like marinara, and the fry flight is quite overpriced for the amount. The fries have a good crispy exterior with a soft and airy interior. Chicken bites were good, not overly battered and comes with a tasty spicy yum yum sauce. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, and the chicken was cooked well. Service was decent, and food came out timely. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The casual picnic tables outside only allow drinks and fries. They have corn hole and frisbee golf outside, and shuffle board inside.

Food: 4/5 | Service: 3.5/5 | Experience: 3/5 My party of 6 came for dinner on the weekend. We expected a wait but was told our table would be ready soon - that "soon" turned into around 20-30 minutes of standing around. Once we were seated, it took quite a long time for us to get served, and while our drinks arrived relatively quickly, we waited around 45 minutes for our food to arrive. I had ordered the lava lamp mocktail and the taproom burger. The mocktail was a bit fizzy, sweet, and a pretty pink color; it was very enjoyable. The burger was a bit dry, but the sauce was able to mask it. Overall, food was ok and prices were fair, but the wait was very long.

If you are looking for a place to get some delicious pizza and try some great beers, this is it! The portion sizes are enough to share which makes it more fun to try more items on the menu. I'm not a big beer drinker but our waitress did a great job with helping me decide what to try based on what I told her I liked and didn't. The outside seating is so nice too!

You're not gonna get the best experience if you come here for the food rather than the beer. My first experience here was just drinks, which was awesome- the apricot wheat is delicious. Service is my biggest concern here. They close the kitchen far before the restaurant does and they should make that clearer- you need to come more than an hour before the restaurant closes if you want food. Otherwise, good place to get drinks

Beer menu is just ok in my book!

New into beers and love Sours and Stouts. Not too many exciting options for me here but good looks good and atmosphere is inviting. My favorite is the Apricot Wheat Beer. Lovely aroma of apricots and light and refreshing on the tongue.

What could be better than fresh beer from the tap at Ithaca Beer Company? The highlight of this visit was the pumpkin beer. July is the best time to get pumpkin beer (who knew) when it's at its freshest. This pumpkin beer was so fresh and so smooth that my husband and I didn't want to order anything else. We even purchased a few packs to take home. We visited during a storm so the outdoor space was closed. A total bummer because it looked absolutely gorgeous! Next time, I hope. The inside was of course packed and there was a long wait for a table. Luckily a spot opened up at the bar which is first come first serve! They've got a pretty large food menu with pretty typical brewery fare. Think nachos, pizza, burgers, etc. The pepperoni pizza was thin crust and super cheesy - my fave. We also shared poutine which was a hit (when is it not?!). They have super cute merch, fun flight combos and of course all the beer you could get your hands on. My toxic trait is that I get drunk at breweries and like to spend too much money. So, now I have plenty of Ithaca beer to keep me going and a cool new tie dye tee. A win!

We were seated immediately. We had a flight each. We had no beer complaints. We shared the seasonal salad and the Cornell chicken sandwich. Both were awesome! Hand cut fries come with a seasoned ketchup that was delicious. We sat at a table, played shuffle board and enjoyed the lawn. I highly recommend the lawn!

Lovely place to get food and a beer at - I came here two times (once last year and once this year) and the food and beer is consistent. I especially love the outdoor seating during the summer time. I got the fried chicken sandwich the first time and it was delicious. The second time, I got the smokehouse chicken sandwich (grilled chicken) and it was surprisingly flavorful with some sweet, savory sauce and a piece of bacon to really bring the flavors out and balance out the typical blandness of grilled chicken. Service here is good, very busy though especially on a nice day out. So, good to call ahead to reserve, but walk-ins are also ok (I did a walk-in, waited about an hour, came at 6:30pm).

We had a nice stop here after hiking Buttermilk! This was my second visit but first in many years - we enjoyed a lot about our ~hour and a half here. The views/outdoor area are unbeatable on a hot summer day. We enjoyed the ample seating they had out in the beer garden area and the staff was friendly and able to handle the high volume that comes through. You can make a reservation for their full menu seating OR enjoy the limited menu out in the beer garden. A couple of things did really miss the mark on our visit, most important being the beer. We ordered two of the flights on the menu and each beer we tried tasted SO watered down and flat. I've had the Apricot Wheat many times and was excited to have it directly from the brewery...it tasted like apricot flavored water. We arrived and ordered right at opening so I am wondering if that made a difference? We both thought we were just losing our minds, because how could ALL of the lines be serving up sub-standard beer? It was super bizarre. If you're ordering from the limited menu outside, the fried chicken sam is the way to go. I needed a vegetable in my life and thought the kale caesar would do the trick, but it was literally just a mountain of kale with croutons, cheese and dressing - steeply priced at $11. The salad was edible but would benefit from some fresh basil and a bigger variety of greens. The huge kale stems made every bite a workout somehow?! I would still come back after a hike and order something else - maybe it was just a rough day. Still very much worth a visit if in Ithaca!

Unique mac and cheese and good gnocchi!…read more I am debating giving the rook 3 or 4 stars... I was not a fan of the salmon mousse... far too salty and I wish it was paired with crisped bread or at least something other than Ritz crackers. I did, however, enjoy the presentation and taste of the macaroni au gratin. The square shape is very unique and I liked the cheese sauce. The lamb w gnocchi was also quite good. Pillowy and soft. The lamb was cooked well. Overall, I would maybe return. I enjoyed the macaroni au gratin as well as the lamb w gnocchi!

Staff was pleasant and quick. The menu is dominated by drink options (cocktails and wines), and happy hour is 4-5pm, which is perfect for an aperitif. The fried chicken is by far their speciality, with the macaroni coming in as a distant second. But while both were delicious, I'd say the best value and taste goes surprisingly to the simple summer salad, which was crisp, sweet, tangy, and refreshing. It's only $10 for a hefty portion of food and I'd order that again anytime (and that's coming from a guy who'd never normally order a salad). My only criticisms are that the Rook doesn't have many entree choices (which may be a good thing for indecisive diners), and that it's very slightly pricey. Otherwise, it's an easy recommend for me.

I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.

However, did love the elevated feel of a typical American bistro. We thought the service could've been more attentive, but improved as the evening progressed. Our waitress was super nice and was helpful in explaining the menu specials and answering any questions we had. Most notably on the menu, the NY strip was a perfect medium rare. We opted to get the 4 jumbo shrimp on the side, which we thought retained a nice snap when we bit into it. It was also well seasoned, while still displaying its freshness. The fries complemented the steak, but was too well done for our liking. Our other entree, the lobster mac and cheese, had a nice cheese pull. We liked the added roasted tomatoes in the baked mac and cheese, which gave it a necessary acidity that countered the creamy, cheesy roux. For our appetizer, we chose the meat and cheese board, which was really solid. Appreciated the waitress explaining the selection, as well as the addition of a sour cherry jam and pickles on the side. This gave us a lot of mix and match options (64 to be exact), and we also liked how it came with charred/toasted bread. Finally, we wrapped up with a chocolate peanut butter parfait and key lime pie. Both were really good (get both if possible, but we liked the latter more).
