"Creative and whimsical" pizzas. Eta Pie in Ithaca NY was recommended by friends for some of their fun recipes, so we got several to-go for our contribution to a little gathering. We started off easy, with a Napoli red-sauce cheese pizza. It's made with the best San Marzano tomatoes and fresh basil, generous fresh-tasting sliced mozzarella, and a tasty tangy an Italian cheese blend. The red sauce was a traditional flavorful slightly sweet, slightly garlicky tomato sauce. All on a tasty thick-edged bready crispy-crusted soft-inside crust. It was a delightfully better-than-it-has-to-be cheese pizza. We thought the Palo Alto BBQ chicken pizza would suit us: richly flavored sweet lightly smokey BBQ sauce, mozzarella & smoked gouda, grilled chicken, and red onions. It was basically a flatbread. It tasted good, but to quote a guest, "it wasn't pizza" :-). Maybe it was the gouda that pushed it to the fancier edge. We struck out on our own with an olive and sausage red-sauce pizza. This was our favorite, due to the sweet bright fennel, garlic, black-pepper sausage, which surely tasted freshly home-made. Eta Pie has creative recipes and ingredients. Cheeses can incluse Gorgonzola, provalone, feta, paneer, Swiss, and ricotta. Sauces and drizzles include blue cheese, ranch, garlic butter, honey, pineapple-habanero, crema, mornay, pesto, herbed crème fraiche, masala, Korean BBQ, and a spicy red-sauce. Toppings include steak, carnitas, Black Forest ham, fried chicken, shrimp, clams, scallops, smoked salmon, bacon, bulgogi, caramelized onions, vidalia onions, jalapeños, broccoli, fried eggplant, spinach, artichoke hearts, kimchee, and even peaches! The service was very poor and almost nonexistent, idk if the guy had a horrible breakup or what but I felt bad for him, no hi when we walked in, no 'can I help you' or 'can I take you order' nothing like that at all, he just stood there, we were the only ones in there too. Another guy walked in and he did the same thing to him and the guy said thank you and the worker said nothing. It was very strange. The pizza somehow only tastes like a tomato, the cheese on both the regular and vegan pizza had no taste, the crust too, it all definitely needed seasoning. The bathroom was sooooo nasty and the toilet had something on it that I won't even discuss on here, just use your imagination, maybe the guy was mad about that? read more

This place was such a gem to find! I was with some friends and one of my friends suggested this. I'd driven by a million times and never seen it. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly! Not a ton of space for indoor or outdoor seating, but enough for a small group to sit and eat. read more

I had some perfectly average cheese slices at Eta Pie. The cheese was on the bland side, the crust could've used more flavor, and the sauce lacked umami. I guess you really need to go with one of their specialty menu items. My cashier was friendly though. He was running the store solo, answering the phone, ringing people up, and putting the pies into the oven. He put me onto Buttermilk Falls as a fun day hike, though it turned out the trails were closed to the public. read more

What a late night gem in Ithaca outside of the collegetown area. They make good pizza that you can customize in any which way that you want. The pizzas are truly stellar, maybe not what you would expect in a sit down NYC pizza place or Napoli, but still this blows any chain pizza out of the water. Decided to check this place out on a whim as they are participating in Ithaca Loves Teachers Week! We ordered a 14" Mykonos Pie, which has feta, spinach, nicely caramelized onions, and tzatziki as toppings. Very generous with the toppings! We really enjoyed the pizza even after reheating it, as we didn't get to it until about thirty minutes after I picked it up. The service was quick and friendly both on the phone when ordering and in-person. Convenient location in a not-too-congested area. Will be back next time I'm getting pizza in Ithaca! read more

The food here was incredible and the service was great! The employee named Matt was so helpful and so kind. They have tons of options for types of pizzas and they have lots of other vegan options too. I told Matt I was vegan and he gave me this really good recommendation for the Berkely, which is like their veggie-lover pizza. He was even able to take olives off on top of my vegan requests. There was a small mix up with the order but everything came out hot, delicious, and quickly. The place is a bit small inside but there is definitely places to sit if it is not too busy. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and they have a ton of non-vegan options as well. After coming back to Ithaca for the first time in 5+ years and finding most of my favorite places gone, or their quality diminished, I was suspicious to see a place with so many 5 star reviews on yelp. With a sense of desperation, we rolled the dice and ordered dinner from Eta Pie. This proved to be 100% the right call. In addition to being one of the most reasonably priced meals we have had so far, it was also by far the best! We got a eggplant and ricotta pizza and added fresh arugula and pesto to it. So so good. I cannot describe how much better this meal was that what we had so far on this trip. The flavor combos were great, the quality of the ingredients too. I know pizza is hard to totally mess up, but it is also hard to perfect, and I think they did an incredible job. I highly recommend their pineapple jalapeño topping. We got it on the side not knowing how could it would be. I could eat it on anything. Pizza, sandwich, crackers. Service was good to. It was ready just before the time predicted when I placed my order. Hope these guys stay here a long time, I look forward to having it again on my next Ithaca trip. The Juarez pizza (featuring roasted pineapple habanero -- didn't even know that was a thing) is quite possibly the best takeout pizza I've had yet, with cheese pulls that went on for days. If you're planning on eating in, there are a few bar seats inside, and two picnic tables outside. The staff are friendly and service is great. We originay wanted the Vallarta but they gave us the Fiesol instead :( Funny bc my favorite of the four was between the Fiesol and the Jackson! I think I was attracted to Fiesol because it was the only one among the pies we ordered that had a tomato based pizza sauce! The rest were creamy and white! I think I preferred the simpler pizzas more than the complex ones! I need to make a few more visits to bump it to 5 stars but it's close. We had the masala pizza (Jaipur ) and the Napoli and both were delicious with a perfectly crisp bottom but chewy dough. Just loved the flavor, especially the Indian inspired one, that I've never seen done elsewhere. Personally, I'd like to see a completely tomato free pizza with a more garlic and slant and perhaps a dash of ricotta but I wasn't disappointed in what we got. They have other non-pizza items but needed to see what the pizza was all about first. I'm going to try another round on another visit with a more traditional pizza to gauge their expertise, but just for the sheer creativity and variety it is worth a visit. This is a unique little pizza spot; and good change up from the cookie cutter franchises. They have a wide variety of options besides just pizza as well (see menu). I'm a big fan of char broiled oysters ever since I tried them in New Orleans-never had it on pizza- and here it is: they have a pizza called "New Orleans". ETA pie is one of my favorite pizza shops in Ithaca!! They have a wonderful extensive menu, suitable for both vegan and non-vegan individuals. Their cheese pizza is so delicious and does not have a crazy upcharge for the vegan cheese. I've also gone with some non-vegan friends and they said that it's the closest they've had to NYC pizza in CNY. They recommend the Napoli. The employees are also super sweet and friendly! Shout out to Mariah for always being kind and being able to manage rush hour with grace. The pizza comes out relatively fast and for a great price. The restaurant is a bit small but cozy. But most of all, I love how I can just substitute vegan cheese for regular cheese without ordering another special kind of pie. Don't underestimate the crust either! Eta Pie is my go-to pizza place in Ithaca. I grew up in Brooklyn, and the NY-style slices really hit a home run with me. I've also had their gluten-free pies, and they're so much better than I've had elsewhere - REAL crust, not cardboard-y, and really awesome flavor combinations you can't find anywhere else in town. This pizza is absolutely one of the best in Ithaca. The service is always cordial and polite and I have never had to wait any longer than 25 minutes to get my pie. I do carryout so I cannot speak to delivery. They have local Ithaca beer companies soda division with Root beer, ginger beer, and also some San Pellegrino flavored drinks as well as your typical Coke, Sprite and big brands. They also have great connoli pie for sale by the slice. There are a few tables inside if you choose to dine in but beware that there is only room for maybe six to eight people max. This shop is devoted to making a great pie at a reasonable price with great customer service. The pizza overall was good and the cauliflower crust and vegan cheese were great. Only issue was we did the create your own and didn't get everything on our pizzas we ordered. One was missing one of the toppings and a balsamic glaze and the other was missing the fresh greens and balsamic glaze. They were delivered so not a lot we could do and the pizza was fine without but we did pay for the build your own because we wanted those things so could have been better.
