I had a good experience here for the most part! I went twice during my trip. I enjoyed the gluten free toast and bagels and got an egg and cheese one day, and a scallion cream cheese and cucumber the next. The coffee is also delicious and didn't even need a flavor added. The man taking our orders the first day was also incredibly kind and you could tell he just enjoyed his job, or at least was happy to be there. There's also a mini shop here basically. There's fresh bread and prepackaged meals here like Shepards pie and fruits and veggies. There also was plenty of cute merch and I left with two designs. Two things that I didn't like. Ordering was a bit chaotic. There are labeled areas that show where to order what, but if it's your first time in it can feel overwhelming and you might be wandering a bit figuring it out. I wish it could all be ordered at one spot, not like it's a food hall. I understand that this probably does work the best for them though and is most likely pretty easy for ordering if you're a local. Lastly, I had an issue with a woman working the second day. They have a big menu and I was looking at it above her head while ordering. She was fine while I was talking, but stopped me when I went to walk away. She said "You know, you really need to face people while you're talking to them." What! So awkward and weird. That's the main reason I took one star off because it caused me not to go back again. We're not local but we've visted before and really enjoyed the stop. Being in the area, frequenting the State Theatre, and listening to good music we needed morning refreshments and immediately thought "Baked in Ithaca". This visit we got coffee, breakfast sandwiches and various baked goods. The restaurant was busy and hopping with activity on a Sunday morning around 9AM. The parking lot was full but there was street parking around the business. There was also plenty of seating for us to find some room to eat in comfort. You order food at one counter but you pay at the other counter? All food is delivered to the "pay" counter. Service was fast, even with the crowd, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious, the coffee was dark (which we love) and the baked goods didn't last long. Visiting family in Ithaca and our one must do's on this trip was to eat Ny style deli. Upon entering you have a deli feel with an urban vibe, could it be the wine bar! This bakery/restaurant has a counter where you order your food and bakery items. There is a separate counter for the adorable wine bar and other deli items. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Renwick Rueben, it was wrapped in foil and I loved that touch. Let us not forget that the name of this restaurant has bakery in its name. I went crazy and ordered cannoli's, cookies and an eclair. The lady next to me ordered an eclair, because it was "National Eclair Day". This eclair was fantastic. I live in Florida where I have never had a good one, the inside part is always stale, but this eclair was fresh and tasted incredible. I will say this is hands down the best item here. Someone in the office wanted to order breakfast so I decided to try this bakery. The DoorDash order came super quick and I was not disappointed! I ordered some type of apple pastry. I put it in the microwave for about 12 seconds and it was divine! The crust was light and so crispy/flaky and it had just the right amount of apple filling. Will definitely order again and again. I guess a trip to Ithaca isn't complete without stopping at Ithaca Bakery. My husband is down here quite a bit for work and said it's one of his favorite places. He usually grab lunch here or sweet treats for us. There's two sides one for sandwiches and the other side for pastries, coffee/drinks. We grab a few things to bring over to a family member house(they loved the vegan bars we bought for them). My oldest loved the donut shaped cake(chocolate cake with I think chocolate ganache in the middle?). Everything else was delicious, I loved the maple iced latte. The service was quick and friendly. There's good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. We'll definitely stop by again whenever we're in town. read more

We visited two times during our 3 day visit (we visited both locations)- the North Meadow Street location is much larger than the Triphammer (and apparently serves beer as well! We saw a nice looking bar counter with a lot of local offerings) We came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and it was bustling- you may need to circle around a few times to find a table. You'll line up at the a different counter to order your sandwich/meal, and then line up in the main cash register line to pay. Line to pay can be a little long/hectic but it moved quickly. I got the Huevos Sonora wrap (includes egg, avocado, salsa and cheddar cheese in a wrap) and my husband got the Round House bagel (egg/bacon/sausage/HASH BROWN/pepper jack cheese, all jammed into a rosemary salt bagel). My wrap was what you would expect, but I was impressed by the Round House- literally there is just a hash brown just hanging out in this humongous bagel sandwich. What impressed me the most was the quality of their baked goods- we got some goodies for our trip back home- we got a sticky bun, a chocolate hazelnut babka and a cheddar leek scone, and all were delicious! Awesome place with even better bagels! I go here all the time and like to mix it up, so I've tried a lot of options, and they are all top notch. The bagels are soft on the inside, but have a nice crisp on the outside. Their menu options all tend to be a nice combination of flavors. I personally love the steak & eggs, really good roast beef! The ordering system is a cool experience. Service and wait time is honestly depending on what you order. I had instances where I order a cc bagel, and had my order within 2 minutes, and other times where I get steak and eggs, which takes closer to 5-7 minutes. The line moved quickly, that's one star. The cinnamon roll thing was disgusting though. The frosting was soft and oozing and tasted of, I think, coconut. Was it coconut oil? We stopped here while on vacation to use the bathrooms after a long drive. The place was busy even at 3 in the afternoon on a weekday. The two bathrooms were not that nice and defy could use a cleaning. Also the dining area was snug and messy with food on the floors ect. Most of the time, we get something to go, which is usually a quick wait and the staff are super nice! We have eaten in both the restaurant and their outdoor seating area, but prefer to take our meal to a local park, with so many to choose from. A solid bakery to stop into for a quick bite. I grabbed my tried & true: lox on a bagel. It was piled high with fresh ingredients, all of which tasted great. I wish the lox hadn't been so thin though and that the rosemary salt bagel had smaller granules of salt. This is me being picky! On our anniversary getaway, we stayed in Ithaca for a hiking vacation and we were at Ithaca Bakery every single day of our vacation. One day we had breakfast AND lunch there! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and you can tell everything is fresh and homemade. My favorite was the one with pastrami and egg on a croissant. A great way to start off the day! For lunch, I tried the reuben and it was fantastic. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and he said it was the best one he's ever had, he loved the pulled pork on it. Bonus for the outside seating to sit with our pups. The service was friendly and efficient, and they had a great selection of snacks and drinks to go with our meal. I ordered one of the artisan sandwiches. It had chucks of Chicken in it like rounded little missiles that fell out when I tried to eat it. It was super dry. The dessert I got out of the case it was nothing to write home about either. All of the cakes we ordered were very tasty! Very rich and decadent! A tad on the sweet side though. I think I liked the cookies and cream cake best! It was moist and hit a good ratio of frosting to cake! The cheesecake was good too. I liked the brownie one a lot. It had a brownie base and brownie chunks mixed in with the cheesecake. The texture of the cheesecake was smooth and creamy- not crumbly or grainy at all. I have also tried their red velvet cake and vanilla birthday cake with chocolate frosting! Both were good, but I wish the red velvet cake had cream cheese frosting... Service was fast- we went at the end of the day... around closing hours and there was no line at all. Ambiance was nice- I prefer this location of Ithaca bakery to the smaller one located off of triphammer. They have more options! I grew up 10 miles West of Ithaca and before the Commons and before they destroyed the Elmira Road and have since moved away (thank God!). When we came back we went to "The" ITHACA Bakery downtown and the place was fantastic. In the last 10-15 years it's a dump of homeless and rude, don't care, shuffle here for this, shuffle there for that so we stopped going. I learned recently from my brother that there was one in Triphammer. So on Sunday on my way back home I stopped and wow! What a change from the clientele downtown! It was awesome and the older lady that waited on me had only need there a few months, said that location had been there for years! She was extremely pleasant and polite and everyone there was fun and sunny. The bagel wasn't as good as NH bagels but when you need a fix, I'm going to stop in Triphammer Ithaca Bakery! The trip up the hill is way better of an experience than downtown! Thank you Trip! read more
