Starting the day off right!
Jim G.

Now this is the kind of place to go when you want to start your day off right. Located in the Common's, it was a five minute walk from our hotel. The shop is bright, clean, with a friendly staff and a wide assortment of fresh baked breads and sweet treats. This location is much larger than the one we visited in Maryland. The croissant was okay to my liking it needed a little more butter, but was quite flakey. They have a new item involving Dubai chocolate; how trendy. I would continue to visit this location when in the neighborhood. Bon appétit.

This is probably the single worst Paris Baguette branch I've been to on either coast. I've had people mischarge me, not give me a box despite me buying enough for one, and worst of all has been the vibe/treatment by staff. Last week, a Gabby Hannah lookalike employee with bronzy-blonde hair was angry on the phone the whole time, moving around the shop, getting in people's way to close as fast as possible 30 mins before closing. Exasperated, ticking-timebomb behavior when you asked a question. Dismissive, but got the job done...and made every customer in that last hour feel like they were the last person on earth they wanted to deal with. I still tip, despite the service...but I regret the amount every time I do. The pastries somehow seem fresher in Los Angeles and Boston. I wonder if it's because Ithaca is so rural...and this is the only Asian bakery for miles.

I'm beyond thrilled there's a Paris Baguette here in Ithaca - it feels like a little slice of home, where Paris Baguette shops pop up like Starbucks. Despite being in the middle of nowhere (no offense, Ithaca), they manage to keep up with the latest trends. I know that's what a chain is supposed to do - provide the same experience regardless of which location - but I'm genuinely grateful this one is here. When I'm in the mood for something sweet, their mochi donuts (or a cake!) paired with an iced green tea hit the spot. And their Croissant Crisps? Heavenly! I first discovered these in the Paris Baguette in Flushing, and finding out they have them here in Ithaca was like winning the lottery. Well, a very specific, pastry-filled lottery. Service is super fast - I've never had to wait long for my orders. However, brace yourself for the noise level. This place is the only Paris Baguette in the area, and it's smack dab in Downtown, so it gets pretty crowded.

Chocolate ganache cake

Cute place on the Commons. Lots of pastry choices. I enjoyed my chocolate ganache cake, though it was not as rich "ganache" tasting as I anticipated. It was light and fluffy. I got a hot pumpkin latte. It was not the typical pumpkin spice latte flavor I expected. Unfortunately, for my crying wallet, I could not enjoy it, as many sips as I tried, and I threw it away. Our cashier was uninterested and seemed like we were a bother to her by being there. Especially when we asked for a pastry to be warmed up. But the person who called out my coffee order was much more pleasant.

We were staying a block away from the commons for 2 nights and made the short walk to this South Korean franchise each morning. On entering grab a tray and tongs and check the day's offering. On our first morning we each selected a strawberry croissant that proved to as delicious as it looked. The following morning we decided to try something different with my wife choosing a blueberry cream croissant and I a pineapple. Both were very good though I think mine might have been a little better, but don't tell my wife.

Cappuccino & Cream-Filled Croughnut

Note: I tend to give chains 3-stars by default as they usually don't differentiate much from one another. I was surprised when I found out Paris Baguette wanted to open up a shop in Ithaca, but I like this one! Love the doughnut selection in particular (evident by this cream filled croughnut), and they make a good cappuccino. Note: Paris Baguette is a Korean chain meaning that if you're not familiar with Asian bakery goods the breads will taste different than more westernized goods. It's alright for studying but know it can get crowded quickly. Also a great spot for picking up a nice cake for a special occasion.

Found this Asian bread store with dine in optional as well , quite fantastic place ! Asian bread is more on the butter therefore is much more soft compare than European / western bread . You can find specialty such as red bean bun and cream bun etc . Very yummy , highly recommend it . They also serve coffee . Definitely coming back again !

A cute cafe and bakery. There's plenty of tables to sit inside but it's mostly taken by students. They have a good amount of options for pastry, food and drinks.

relaxing with my coffee while I wait for my Cornell granddaughter to meet me.

A charming place for coffee! I wasn't able to sample any of the delicious looking pastries because there were no GF options. All the other patrons seem to be enjoying their items.

Food was great! My partner got a strawberry croissant, while I got a coffee-cream filled donut. We also split a hazelnut coffee, which was excellent. Not a lot of indoor seating inside, and they ran out of napkins and didn't seem too concerned with replacing them.

It's expensive for what I would normally spend on baked goods. It tastes good though! It's a cute little spot and service is usually good.

Pretty tasty pastries and coffee. Not the cleanest place, they don't seem to wipe the tables down frequently enough.

It has calming properties that help people be more social similar to alcohol but without the negative effects. It does taste pretty bitter and it has a numbing sensation (similar to sichuan peppercorns) so their flavored options are recommended for first-timers. The apple cider version was pretty good. I did feel the effect, but did I love it? Honestly, not sure. It felt a bit weird. But even if I decide not to try kava again, their tea was also really good and the owner is a super nice and interesting guy. People who come here are looking for something different, so give it a shot! The inside definitely looks like it used to be an elk's lounge or something. But overall, it's a chill and relaxed space with good vibes.

Coffee wise, I'm a purist, I like regular espresso. Call me crazy, but just plain arabica non complicated beans are IT for me. I'm a lavazza and kimbo drinker so anytime there's modified beans or over worked or under roasted or whatever it is kind of beans, 90% of the time, my espresso will not come out as I'd normally prefer it. We're in America, so I get it, a lot of people do prefer it like this or perhaps order their coffee with loads of milk and impossible to drink. Either way, I loved this coffee shop for the vibes. Extremely nice cashier, staff and barista. Cute little baked good section and simple espresso based drinks, including chai and matcha. Besides the coffee beans not being to my liking (this is just me) I do love this place and I'm so happy we popped in.

They sell a variety of their coffee blends and quite a few pastries. It's such a small place that they do not have any tables to enjoy your food or drink purchase, so grab and go is pretty much your only choice. Service was quick and friendly. We got an Americano, a mocha, and a piece of their coffee cake. While none of them may win any awards, they were a solid substitute for Starbucks which doesn't have much of a presence in town (plus you're sporting a local business).
