Ordered the chocolate espresso iced drink (can't remember the name) and it was very yummy and smooth. Ordered with only a double shot of espresso since it normally comes with 4. Cashier was friendly and the service was quick. I'm definitely looking forward to going back for the baked goods.

Wow, can you really call this "avocado toast"? What a joke, my 5 year old can do better.

The service here is nice, friendly. Was a bit sad I came in hoping for a bread bowl & soup, but looks like it didn't sell well enough during the pandemic to survive on the menu. I got the soup & sandwich combo instead, with the veg chili & ultimate grilled cheese, which had caramelized onions. Was a little over $10. I served myself the soup & asked if the little crust of bread next to the soup was ok to take. It was. It was a little saltier than I like my grilled cheeses, and the bread was soggy with butter that didn't really crisp the sides. The vegetarian chili did pair well with it, though, since it was mild enough to downplay the saltiness. The cheese pull was nice, thanks to the mozzerella, but wasn't a fan of the soggy bread (I ate this within 10 mins of ordering). What really concerned me today though, was having the carrot cupcake for dessert & midway through, biting into something really hard. Washed it off, & it turned out to be a shell of some sort. Walnut, perhaps? Was the first time I ever encountered something like this ever...made me worried about trying any more of their baked goods. I'd gotten them occasionally with no incident the past few years, but they weren't my taste. Still haven't found one I really like. They usually leave a kind of cloying sweetness that feels a bit artificial...like some grocery store baked goods. Sad to say this was the nail in the coffin. I'll (cautiously) try the mini chocolate bundt I got, but this will probably be the last time I try their baked goods.

What a perfect spot for brunch this morning! Service was outstanding and the menu has so many great options from which to choose. I had the avocado toast #3, which came with eggs on top, fresh fruit and coffee and my friend had the bagel sandwich with eggs and cheese and fresh watermelon. He said the cold brew was so flavorful. Everything was outstanding. The ambiance was great and there were several seating selections to choose from, both inside and outside the bakery. I would definitely recommend trying Ithaca Bakery.

    Brooklyn on a Long Island

"Yeah, lemme get a Brooklyn on a Long Island." That is Ithaca Bakery talk for "Bacon, egg and cheese on an Everything bagel" and now you officially sound like a local! Us Jersey and NYC folks fit right in after getting that one down. I was in town with my cousin who went to Cornell and was VERY excited to show us all of her favorite spots. Ithaca Bakery was the first stop for a breakfast sandwich. I believe they have two locations; this one is in a strip mall with a really convenient indoor atrium. They had a few tables set up there so we were able to snag one and enjoy breakfast together. Be warned, it wasn't as cold as true outdoors but it wasn't exactly heated so you'll want to keep your coats on, but it was still great! Now the sandwich, the Brooklyn on a Long Island... a good breakfast! It was honestly just your typical BEC but it came out great. The coffee was piping hot and a good brew. I will say, it was pretty pricey. Two sandwiches and two coffee was around $26/$27. We all joked about how affordable nyc is (a very funny joke IMO). If you are from the area, I'm sure you know how great this place is. If you're just passing through, pick up a sandwich and a coffee! They had LOTS of options for both breakfast and lunch.

I usually come here to their sandwiches ; mainly the Milanese. It's sooo good and you can get it over gluten free bread. We also got the New Yorker; the roasted beef is great and it's so good. My friend got the veggie burger and loved it. I honestly feel sad saying this but I'm not a big fan of their desserts. We got a custom birthday cake for our son from here and it was perfect on the outside but didn't taste all that. The art was great but the taste was ...ok. We got a variety of desserts and unfortunately we didn't like anything. The only thing that was ok was the pecan pie. Overall clean and organized. The place offers great variety of desserts and sandwiches. I prefer to go for savory items rather than sweets.

Ithaca Bakery is simply a local staple. My office gets delivery from here often. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tuscan. Their delivery is always super prompt and helpful. One day when I was already downtown I thought I would stop in the store and grab a quick bagel sandwich. It took way longer than I expected. Next time I will definitely order ahead or get delivery. Thankfully once it came out it was absolutely delish! Perfect ratios of egg, cheese, bagel and bacon. The ordering process was a little unusual. You order in one location, then pay in another, and then pick up in another. It seems a little inefficient, and nobody really knew how to follow along. Why not pay when you order? The parking was less than ideal at the meadow street location. Very crowded. Thankfully I have a small car. I was really surprised to see that they have wine and beer at the meadow street location. Who knew a bakery had a bar?! They have so much food to choose from. Definitely a place to go in downtown Ithaca! (If you can get a place to park!)

The coffee is also delicious and didn't even need a flavor added. The man taking our orders the first day was also incredibly kind and you could tell he just enjoyed his job, or at least was happy to be there. There's also a mini shop here basically. There's fresh bread and prepackaged meals here like Shepards pie and fruits and veggies. There also was plenty of cute merch and I left with two designs. Two things that I didn't like. Ordering was a bit chaotic. There are labeled areas that show where to order what, but if it's your first time in it can feel overwhelming and you might be wandering a bit figuring it out. I wish it could all be ordered at one spot, not like it's a food hall. I understand that this probably does work the best for them though and is most likely pretty easy for ordering if you're a local. Lastly, I had an issue with a woman working the second day. They have a big menu and I was looking at it above her head while ordering. She was fine while I was talking, but stopped me when I went to walk away. She said "You know, you really need to face people while you're talking to them." What! So awkward and weird. That's the main reason I took one star off because it caused me not to go back again. Very rude and felt like a mini lecture for no reason.

This visit we got coffee, breakfast sandwiches and various baked goods. The restaurant was busy and hopping with activity on a Sunday morning around 9AM. The parking lot was full but there was street parking around the business. There was also plenty of seating for us to find some room to eat in comfort. You order food at one counter but you pay at the other counter? All food is delivered to the "pay" counter. Service was fast, even with the crowd, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious, the coffee was dark (which we love) and the baked goods didn't last long. We got a cinnamon coffee cake and a loaf of bread that were huge hits. "Baked in Ithaca" - what a slogan!

The parking lot is often full, so I'd looked forward to stopping in. The ordering set-up wasn't so different from their original store. A selection of around 6-8 different savory and sweet hand pies are in a glass case on the counter. There are vegan, gluten-free, etc. options, which is great. There's a fresh locally-sourced salad in a small clamshell that you can add, as well as cold bottled drinks. You order your pies and café beverages and take a seat. The pies are not reheated, they go right from the case to your plate, somewhat disappointing. The dining room is half restaurant half lounge, a bit chaotic but cozy. The pies are good, but not generous. Sweet ones are around $5 and the savory are between $6-7, almost $8 each for some. As a result of the cost, we only got three of them for the two of us. They are on the smaller side..Our shared salad was really good, but I hated the plastic clamshell aspect of it, the plastic waste. The café drinks were good, a chai and a latte. Overall, we left feeling disappointed that we had spent $48 including tip on food that we ate in 10 minutes and that left us still hungry. I had hoped that they would have "hand pie combo-plates" with, say, two-three pies, a side and maybe a salad. That would've been filling. The simple ingredients and the (likely) advanced preparation involved in making hand pies with inexpensive ingredients makes the high cost and the small selection and serving size hard to understand. I guess my plan for next time is to focus on the café drinks and cozy vibes and not to go in hungry.
