Carrot cake!
Jada C.

College town Bagels (CTB) makes for the perfect campus-adjacent spot! Its proximity to the law school and academic buildings makes it a go-to for faculty and students alike. The atmosphere feels chill and unhurried. It ranks as one of the few places where you can actually focus on your studies while relaxing. The staff provides consistent courteous and prompt service. I find that impressive given how busy they get. Highly recommend the carrot cake; it tastes exceptionally well-made and delicious.

Great coffee and bagel shop. So many options for bagels! Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of college students hanging out. Great spot to meet up with friends.

A fairly quick review of my visit of a local spot recommended to me. I was visiting Syracuse this weekend for my nursing clinicals with my university at Upstate Hospital. Last day, my clinical instructor recommended a spot to order for our lunch break and that was Collegetown Bagels. This was a first coming from Texas and I am always open to try new places. Located on Syracuse University's campus, which I had no idea how close it was, we walked over there as a group. I decided to go with the Renwick Reuben, PB&Joe, and a cannoli. I thought this was a good representation of what New York is for breakfast/lunch. The Reuben was flavorful, lots of pastrami, tangy sauce, and rye bread was spot on. The PB &Joe I would have had it by itself. It really is like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich thrown into a coffee drink. The cannoli is a must, can't forget about it. Overall my visit to Collegetown Bagels was a great one. I definitely would find myself stopping in if I was local, working closely with by at the hospital or even a University of Syracuse student. It is unfortunately my stay in the city is not long but I would recommend it. Go to McDonald's? Go to Dunkin? Go to that questionable bagel shop? "Forget about it"

Best bagel I ever had. So many options! Nice place to hangout. Especially seating outside in the summer. Such a good experience!

3.5 for this well-centered location in this college town, downtown Ithaca, and very busy. Bagels are slightly dense to my liking. It's a full ôn store necessary for workers and college students who live closeby. Therés enough seating but place looks like a store than just a bagel shop. Good service!

During a visit to Cornell, a colleague said we had to go to Collegetown Bagels and try the rosemary bagel (spoiler: I did not need up trying that one lol) It's about a 7 or 8 minute walk from the Statler Hotel, which was convenient for a quick trip over. We arrived around 12:30pm on a Friday and it was pretty busy, but by the time our group all got our food (there were about 7 of us) there were a lot less people inside. Normally I like to look at menus before visiting places and I do wish I did. I found myself very overwhelmed once I walked inside. There were just so many choices that sounded so good! You order at the farthest station, then work your way towards the front to pay. I ended up ordering the Parisian and an apple cider donut. The donut was good and the sandwich was very tasty. I would love to come back and try a breakfast sandwich, and the frickin chickin sandwich, which was the other sandwich I was thinking about.

Californian dreamin'

Collegetown bagels sells more than just bagels: sandwiches, sandwiches, paninis, bowls, pastries, and coffee. We got the Brooklyn bagel, Californian dreamin' and cold brew. The bagels are decent, and I enjoy the flavoring of the rosemary salt bagel. I also enjoyed the Californian dreamin': simple, and filling. I would never have thought to put coleslaw in a sandwich and I'm a fan! Service is friendly and food took 5-10 min. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Order in the food line, and get given a slip to take to the cashier. You order drinks with the cashier.

Probably the best bagel place I've ever had. The service was quick, the staff gave great recommendations and although the menu sees complex it's very easy to navigate. You honestly can't go wrong with anything you get. We were visiting and went every morning for 4 days straight, time after time our tastebuds were blown away with great flavor. The atmosphere is great for everyone even though it's in the heart of a college town. Whenever we visit we will be coming here for sure.

Bagel with Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Latte
Tommy C.

Collegetown Bagel is exactly that, a cool College Town Bagel shop. Very friendly and helpful young staff, mostly likely college kids. The place has a great coffee shop vibe to it. Bagel was good, had the honey walnut cream cheese and it was as good as you can find anywhere. Could have used a bigger schmear but not complaining. Parking is a nightmare anywhere around Cornell, but that is what it is. Latte was good as well, hot and frothy.

We went on a Monday, so it was completely empty, which only made it feel more like a secret hideaway for people who appreciate a little offbeat charm. Definitely the kind of place you stumble into and think, "Yeah, this is where the interesting people hang out." Would I come back? Absolutely -- preferably on a night where there's more life, and maybe I'll finally try the kava :)

I came here looking for tea, ended up learning about and trying kava!…read more If you haven't had kava before, it's a root that's powdered up and served as a drink. It has calming properties that help people be more social similar to alcohol but without the negative effects. It does taste pretty bitter and it has a numbing sensation (similar to sichuan peppercorns) so their flavored options are recommended for first-timers. The apple cider version was pretty good. I did feel the effect, but did I love it? Honestly, not sure. It felt a bit weird. But even if I decide not to try kava again, their tea was also really good and the owner is a super nice and interesting guy. People who come here are looking for something different, so give it a shot! The inside definitely looks like it used to be an elk's lounge or something. But overall, it's a chill and relaxed space with good vibes.

A solid spot for brunch in Ithaca!…read more I wish it was located a tad closer to c-town, but when the weather is warm it is actually quite a nice walk (still definitely walkable even in the winter)! We tried the breakfast croissant, the breakfast burrito, and crepes. We also ordered a hot Razz Mocha and an iced matcha (both with oat milk). I wish they had more milk varieties (only had whole and oat). Everything except the matcha was super tasty! I really loved the razz mocha- I will definitely be ordering this again. The crepes were my favorite entree- slightly thicker than your typical crepe, more of a chew. Nonetheless, very yummy. I like the berry compote and whipped cream. I enjoyed the croissant sandwich- ours had lox and egg. Too much egg, but perhaps the right amount of egg if you just want an egg sandwich without meat... Burrito was fine, though a tad watery. There was a bit of a line when we came- Saturday around noon and not much seating. We took our food to-go. Better to come when the weather is warmer- there is more seating under the tend in the back. Have heard mixed things about their other dishes, but I will definitely be returning!
