Good tasting coffee, Ever-changing origins, Delicious fresh baked goods. Another morning, another alarm-clock of coffee :-). "Gimme! Coffee"! We got some black and some with oat milk or dairy to-go. We got one Leftist espresso without dairy or sweetener, and one of their current special-origins. The espresso was deep, rich, and smooth, with dark fruit or chocolate overtones. Mighty nice. While we were there, July 2026, their special origins included Ethiopian Sidamo Washed and Colombian Caficauca. The one we chose, Burundi Turihamwe, had a sweet, slightly floral or citrus flavor, with a vanilla overtone. It was very bright and smooth, and blended nicely with oat milk and a little sugar. I think that would also be the case for the Ethiopian and this particular Columbian. Both of ours tasted fresh and freshly ground. We had a lovely fresh-baked scone, too, from a selection of nearly 20 pastries. Gimme! specializes in distinct coffee varieties we don't see elsewhere. This is a whole world of fine-tasting morning fuel and sublime leisure-sipping. We bought some Turihamwe whole beans to take home with us. Aaaah. read more

It's stiff competition for coffee shops in Ithaca, but Gimme has to be my favorite! They consistently nail a perfect cappuccino. The shops are cozy and welcoming and the service is great. read more

Gimme has some of the best coffee in Ithaca, and the State St. Cafe is a great place to set up shop and get some work done while enjoying the public WiFi. The staff is always friendly and happy to answer questions, and the baked goods, especially the scones, are a must-try! read more

We're always on the look out for a good coffee place and this place delivered! I think the best taste of coffee is drinking it black with no add ins to truly taste whether the bean was roasted properly. Staff were friendly, interior was spacious, and their pastries were yummy. We bought a couple bags to take home because we loved it so much. One drawback, their interior is too nice that people don't want to leave. Lots of customers on their laptops and devices just hanging out. If you want to just sit and relax with a good cup of coffee, sit by the window or grab a cup to go. read more

Awesome coffee shop that's perfect for coworking, catching up, checking emails or just coming in because, you can, duh! Love their branding - I instantly wanted to buy the mugs, tote bags and travel mugs. So stinkin cute! I of course am already overloaded with tote bags so I decided to hang tight. Ordered a macchiato, since they do make it the classic way. Espresso with a dash of steamed milk. From oat milk, to almond milk to regular milk, the choice is yours. Coffee wise, I'm a purist, I like regular espresso. Call me crazy, but just plain arabica non complicated beans are IT for me. I'm a lavazza and kimbo drinker so anytime there's modified beans or over worked or under roasted or whatever it is kind of beans, 90% of the time, my espresso will not come out as I'd normally prefer it. We're in America, so I get it, a lot of people do prefer it like this or perhaps order their coffee with loads of milk and impossible to drink. Either way, I loved this coffee shop for the vibes. Extremely nice cashier, staff and barista. Cute little baked good section and simple espresso based drinks, including chai and matcha. Besides the coffee beans not being to my liking (this is just me) I do love this place and I'm so happy we popped in. read more

great coffee, friendly staff. that's all you need, isn't it? gimme coffee is my go to when i'm in ithaca.

The taste of their coffee is so smooth and delicious! Their house made syrups are sweet without being over powering. The ambiance is a little "cold", not a lot of "frill and fluff", but they make it up for it and put their efforts into the product. I really appreciated how each of our drinks even had a different "art" to it! The baristas were friendly and helpful with ordering also. Definitely will return! read more

These days, Gimme Coffee is an Ithaca institution, and deservedly so. Their flagship location at 506 W. State Street -- located between Route 13 and the Ithaca Commons -- is a spacious, elegant indoor café with plenty of room to read, work, chat or just hang out. Large glass windows allow for tons of natural light, and the tall ceilings help moderate the noise level when it's more crowded. While the atmosphere is great, what I keep coming back for is, yup, you guessed it -- the *coffee*. The folks at Gimme take their coffee science extremely seriously. As a result, staff members are very knowledgable about the varieties -- and just plain cool people to boot! I particularly love their Central American varieties, like the ones from Nicaragua and Guatemala. They're a refreshing change of pace from your typical burnt cup of mass-market coffee .... You can certainly appreciate their amazing coffee without knowing about Gimme's commitment to Fair Trade-sourced coffee.... or the fact that it's an employee-owned co-op.... or that it's a certified Living Wage employer. But don't all these things make the coffee taste just that much better? read more

Stellar coffee and matcha. The barista's art game was next level and the drinks were so good. We were just visiting town but came back here every morning, even on mornings where we strayed but found that other cafes didn't hit the same spot. Good assortment of fresh tasting pastries with lots of options, and a nice space to relax in. read more

Definitely overrated imo. I tried one of their seasonal drinks and it was absolutely disgusting. The drinks from their regular menu is okay. read more

Modern coffee shop. Staff is friendly, coffee is locally roasted, and they have some great looking pastries. Standard coffee and tea menu (espresso drinks, drip coffee, hot tea, etc). And they have cold brew! Unlike many other places in Ithaca, Gimme feels fresh and modern. It's a great place to work, meet a friend, or read. There's lots of outlets and free wifi. read more

I really love this Gimme location to study! They have longer hours than other locations, and more spacious seating! I recently ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, which was so delicious! They also had a new vegan blueberry and peach turnover which was great! The flakiness and texture is comparable to a non-vegan pastry. Can't wait to return! read more

Was out running errands and stopped here for some Java. Love the cappuccino heart art. I like swirling and sniffing the coffee before drinking it like some kind of coffee sommelier LOL and was pleased by the strong scent & taste. Loved that they included a spoon to eat the foam as well. This is also a nice location to do work in, provided you can secure a table. On a sunny day the sun streams through the windows making the entry of the space all glowy, which is why this pic looks bomb af. read more

I got a drip coffee and it was very good! The pastries in the cabinet were plentiful and looked amazing. The place was in a little disarray, but I think that's because there's not indoor seating due to pandemic (mask is still required also). But what I was most impressed with were the employees and the chai tea (my husband's order). The employees were so bubbly, happy, and friendly. What a great way to start the morning. :) And the chai was the best I've ever had. 100% recommend this place ! read more

This is a cute, local coffee shop serving up great coffee and delicious little treats. Masks are required inside and they really enforced it which I appreciated. My daughter and I visited here a few times during our Ithaca stay and she loved it! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I did order the hot chocolate which was just ok. They don't offer coconut milk so I got it with almond milk. And no whipped cream was a disappointment because what is hot chocolate without whipped cream? But they're clearly known for their coffee as there was a line every time we visited. It's definitely worth a stop., but know that parking is a challenge. read more

We stayed just around the block of this spot in an air b&b while visiting in Ithaca. We ended up visiting here 2x during our 3-night trip. The coffee was awesome. Their COVID-19 precautions were much appreciated as well- I just ordered outside in one window, then picked up my coffee in another. I had a latte with almond milk both times and really really loved it. The espresso tasted high quality. Would def. recommend! read more

Driving through Ithaca on our way to the Finger Lakes and made a stop here for coffee. Gentleman at the register had character. I cracked a joke to him and he responded back with the same witty humor. Got a mocha, cappuccino, chai and hot chocolate. No one was disappointed. All four drinks were the perfect temperature, and tastefully balanced. The key to the bathroom is hilarious but understandable in this small college town. It was a great experience for a quick pitstop. read more

Ithaca is known for having more bars per capita than almost any other city in the United States - it's in the top 10 - but Ithaca also apparently has more than its fair share of great coffee places than almost anywhere I've ever been, and Gimme! Coffee is right up there with the best. This specialty coffee roaster has some great single-origin coffees and blends that will perk (!) you right up on a slow morning. This is the kind of place that knows how to brew a strong, well-balanced cup of coffee that doesn't taste harsh or acidic, not an easy thing to do. While the coffees are indeed great, what really sets Gimme! apart is their house-made baked goods, including some of the best scones ever - truly proper scones that have that light and slightly crumbly texture, the kind of scone that most Americans have probably never experienced. They're also playful with the varieties, offering a delicious bacon cheddar scone and a really nice "everything" ham and cheese scone, a nice take on the classic everything bagel. I started four of my six mornings during this last trip to Ithaca enjoying a large cup of their dark roast along with one of their scones, a perfect way to start the day. Gimme some Gimme! Coffee... now! read more

Our favorite coffee in Ithaca! The iced coffee and iced americano were both great, as usual. During COVID, you must order online in advance, then outdoor curbside pickup is very easy - a staff member came outside, we gave them the name on our order, and she brought the drinks out shortly. They encourage 6+ feet of distance and calling to tell them that you've arrived. Great procedures to continue getting their great products! read more

I got to visit Gimme! Coffee when I stayed at a nearby Airbnb for the Cayuga Trail full marathon. Nice vibe going on at the coffee shop. I saw many seating areas and it was easy to imagine hanging out and getting tasks done here. I recommend getting the scones. My friend got a savory scone with spinach and cheese, and I chose the peach thyme scone and they were both phenomenal. Coffee is great too. read more

Great strong coffee, this shop knows its product and had great seating and plenty of outlets to sip and surf. Highly recommend this spot!

This coffee shop is just entertaining for me. It's so OG hipster- but it's not cause it's Ithacan. I would take their vibe over Brooklyn's hipsters any day. Beyond the personality of the coffee shop, their coffee is my favorite! And I love coffee. Though, I am not always one for ordering pour-overs everywhere I go so, maybe it's not fair for me to hold theirs in such high regard. But the time I ordered it, the barista was super informative about the process and took a lot of care in making mine. He explained the whole process and he brewed it-the temperature of the water, the type of kettle, the scale used, the hand motions even. Love their cold brew but the Kyoto Cold Brew from Ithaca Coffee Company is definitely better. Their mocha is pretty good but mochas are too intense for me. Espresso drinks: Their Piccolo Mondo and their Leftist blends are just my favorite espresso blends. Leftist has just the right amount of complexity, depth of flavor; caramel with the tiniest of tang. Though, it seems they have stopped selling the Piccolo Mondo. Decor: I love the artwork on the rail. When I first saw it here, I didn't realize that every hipster coffee shop has one of these. Nevertheless, the art is great. Service: Sometimes great, sometimes too uptight. It really depends on the day. Pricing: It's a lot. But definitely worth it. Parking was never really too big of an issue but I did go at odd daytime hours. read more

10/10 no doubt the best latte I've ever had. The coffee quality here is ridiculously phenomenal. If you're a true coffee lover go here.

Best coffee I've ever had! The baristas receive ~3 months of training and definitely know how to brew a good coffee. There are usually fresh pastries, which are pretty tasty. I prefer to get my coffee to-go because there isn't much seating (especially at their other locations) and it can get kind of noisy. It is popular for students and professionals to do work! read more
