Visiting family in Ithaca and our one must do's on this trip was to eat Ny style deli. Upon entering you have a deli feel with an urban vibe, could it be the wine bar! This bakery/restaurant has a counter where you order your food and bakery items. There is a separate counter for the adorable wine bar and other deli items. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Renwick Rueben, it was wrapped in foil and I loved that touch. Let us not forget that the name of this restaurant has bakery in its name. I went crazy and ordered cannoli's, cookies and an eclair. The lady next to me ordered an eclair, because it was "National Eclair Day". This eclair was fantastic. I live in Florida where I have never had a good one, the inside part is always stale, but this eclair was fresh and tasted incredible. I will say this is hands down the best item here. Cannot wait to visit next summer!

Super fresh bagels, tons of variety, epic service and very efficient. the ambiance is totally ithaca and trendy farmers vibe. Love the bronx bagel and california bagel. rosemary salt and plain was very good with of course scallion cream cheese. top tier breakfast eats definitely a must go to! 10/10 A++

If you're familiar with CTB, Ithaca Bakery is that. Same vibe, same setup, nearly identical in every way. I tried the Steak & Egg sandwich and the Cat Woman. The Cat Woman, in particular, was absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back just for that.

Great sandwiches and smoothies and good prices! Huge selection of options available and an amazing looking baked goods display! They have lots of outdoor and indoor seating. They are a sister company with college town bagels so you'll likely see some familiar food items which is great for me. They have a surprising amount of parking and even ev charging spots! We'd definitely come back!

I guess a trip to Ithaca isn't complete without stopping at Ithaca Bakery. My husband is down here quite a bit for work and said it's one of his favorite places. He usually grab lunch here or sweet treats for us. There's two sides one for sandwiches and the other side for pastries, coffee/drinks. We grab a few things to bring over to a family member house(they loved the vegan bars we bought for them). My oldest loved the donut shaped cake(chocolate cake with I think chocolate ganache in the middle?). Everything else was delicious, I loved the maple iced latte. The service was quick and friendly. There's good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. We'll definitely stop by again whenever we're in town.

My review remains the same. This update is only to add pictures of the take out menu.

Delicious food and even better desserts. A lot of grab and go foods that make it quick to get in and out.

Best vegan soup I've ever tasted!

Well, the bagels are good; most of their breads are on point; and their breakfast sandwiches are super. But their soups: stellar! Nice enough ambience, and efficient and friendly staff.

Awesome place with even better bagels! I go here all the time and like to mix it up, so I've tried a lot of options, and they are all top notch. The bagels are soft on the inside, but have a nice crisp on the outside. Their menu options all tend to be a nice combination of flavors. I personally love the steak & eggs, really good roast beef! The ordering system is a cool experience. Service and wait time is honestly depending on what you order. I had instances where I order a cc bagel, and had my order within 2 minutes, and other times where I get steak and eggs, which takes closer to 5-7 minutes. All reasonable wait times, and I never seemed to mind. Now about the decor, it's old school with a modern-ish feel! I love the style and layout of it.

Almond croissant, peanut butter coffee smoothie, turkey sausage+egg+cheese panini.

I've been going to Ithaca Bakery/Collegetown Bagels for 30+ years. I love the quality and variety of things they offer.

Ask the Community - Ithaca Bakery

Is there indoor seating at either location? Outdoor seating?

Both locations have ample indoor seating. Meadow Street has lots of outdoor seating. Triphammer has a covered courtyard with tables and chairs.

Mama Said Hand Pies

Tried out the savory cheddar potato and the sweet cherry almond hand pies. Both were delicious and…read morea great snack. They are a great homemade option when you are looking for a quick small meal.

I had visited and enjoyed Mama Said at their walk-up location downtown, so I was excited to see…read morethat they were opening in a long-vacant location on Tburg Rd. The parking lot is often full, so I'd looked forward to stopping in. The ordering set-up wasn't so different from their original store. A selection of around 6-8 different savory and sweet hand pies are in a glass case on the counter. There are vegan, gluten-free, etc. options, which is great. There's a fresh locally-sourced salad in a small clamshell that you can add, as well as cold bottled drinks. You order your pies and café beverages and take a seat. The pies are not reheated, they go right from the case to your plate, somewhat disappointing. The dining room is half restaurant half lounge, a bit chaotic but cozy. The pies are good, but not generous. Sweet ones are around $5 and the savory are between $6-7, almost $8 each for some. As a result of the cost, we only got three of them for the two of us. They are on the smaller side..Our shared salad was really good, but I hated the plastic clamshell aspect of it, the plastic waste. The café drinks were good, a chai and a latte. Overall, we left feeling disappointed that we had spent $48 including tip on food that we ate in 10 minutes and that left us still hungry. I had hoped that they would have "hand pie combo-plates" with, say, two-three pies, a side and maybe a salad. That would've been filling. The simple ingredients and the (likely) advanced preparation involved in making hand pies with inexpensive ingredients makes the high cost and the small selection and serving size hard to understand. I guess my plan for next time is to focus on the café drinks and cozy vibes and not to go in hungry.
