I also tried the cranberry orange and mixed berry scone- both were tasty though I slightly preferred the cranberry orange one. This place was hard to find but cute. Its right on the corner, but no sign. We went to their neighbor first. Tried a couple of breakfast sandwiches. I got the Joey special on a croissant. It had fried egg, bacon, sausage and cheese. It was a lot with bacon and sausage, but good. Husband got the Entourage with eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado and some spread. He loved it. We went on a drizzly Saturday morning- the rain didn't stop the customers because it was packed and busy! It was a little crowded around the front register, but the staff kept it moving and efficient. Check out the pastries that they have on display but the real treats are up on the menu board- the breakfast selection was fantastic and everything sounded delicious. Our group of four got 2 Dolce Delights (apparently it's everyone's favorite and I get why- it's a chipotle biscuit, egg, cheddar, ham and hot pepper jelly) and the Loaded Lucy avocado toast (open faced avocado toast with bacon, honey, a nice gooey egg, and chipotle mayo and feta) and some coffees (you can order the coffee at the separate counter on the side.) Everything was so delicious and fresh, really satisfying sandwiches! Located down the street from Ithaca College, can totally see this being an IC student's favorite place for breakfast. read more

Been coming here for years, fairly regularly since a good friend took me here. Since then, I always got a Moose, sauce on side, with a Green Dream...sometimes a Danby if I feel like switching it up. I've gotten the cute individual chocolates in boxes to give as souvenirs from Ithaca, which were received with delight (pun intended). The service is always friendly, and on days it's busy, there's a line out the door. It's a local hidden gem that's a trek for some, but it's got the charm of a cozy smalltown cafe/diner hybrid. When I see bowtie-wearing faculty here getting spreads for a talk, I know they have taste (and likely well-funded). The Moose ($9.75) never misses. The Green Dream however...this is one of the reasons I hadn't given a full 5 stars. It's hit-or-miss, which is understandable, given it's made with fresh fruits. Getting one in the scant warmer months? Amazing. Give me 14. Getting one in the dead of winter? You risk getting a cup of slightly sweet, vaguely-fruit-flavored green water for $7.50. If you're into gambling, you can get a flavor blast or a flavor bland experience. I wish it was more consistent, or priced differently when the ingredients are out of season. Another thing I wish they had were visible prices for baked goods. Last I was there, scones were $3.85, cheddar biscuits around $5, pie bites (like little open envelopes with fruit filling) around $1.75, and pies for $12.50. You have to ask the price of every single item, which takes time, and even on slow days, it's hard to hear inside, so you'll have to repeat yourself or mishear. Prices on pottery have also been an point of confusion. I wanted to buy a piece of pottery that was marked $36, but others like it were marked $10. I got the price corrected, but was given the wrong item in the end due to another mix-up...due to mishearing each other on a slow day. I would have to make the trip back out in the snow to exchange it. Human error can happen a lot here due to the noise. You also have to request receipts sometimes. Which is a hassle. The cookies have been a treat, but change very frequently, so I've not seen certain cookies I liked since I had them the first time. Either way, it's always interesting here, with a cozy vibe, nice people, and good food. I've been bringing people here to introduce them to the spot, which makes me wonder if I should be getting cookies as a commission. Haha. Either way, I love this place and want to support it, so as usual, I tip at least 10% when I do takeout, and minimum 20% for dine-in. read more

I've been going to Dolce Delight for years, and can't say enough good things about it. However, this is going to be a fairly short review because I always get the same thing every time: the Dolce Special, an absolutely epic breakfast sandwich. The star of this show is the biscuit itself, a hefty chipotle-cheddar creation with enough umami (and calories) to power your local nuclear reactor. Add in an egg, some ham, cheese, and a dash of hot-pepper jelly to tie it all together. Folks, I'm usually take-it-or-leave-it when it comes to breakfast ham, and I *still* can't get enough of this sandwich. There's a reason why the Dolce Special is listed on the menu as "EVERYONE'S FAVORITE". Anyhoo, there's like 45 other things on the menu and I'm sure they're all amazing too, LOL. (But for real, the pastry assortment is second to none, and there are tons of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee/espresso drinks, salads, desserts, and other goodies to choose from.) The cafe itself has a warm, bustling vibe, though during peak times it can get pretty crowded. There are a few tables inside, and several more outdoors when the weather's nice. Disclaimer: I've only tried desserts from Dolce. The photos of their sandwiches look good so I think my review would've had higher stars if I ate more savoury items from them. Before I graduated from IC, there was an event that had catered Dolce Delight and it exposed me to some of their gluten-free desserts. Don't let "gluten-free" fool you, their gluten-free brownies (chocolate enrobed squares garnished with spherical nonpareils) are phenomenal. It had me curious about their other desserts, so I took the TCAT over to their beautifully designed, compact shop. After trying more of their desserts, the flavours can be hit-or-miss depending on what you get. Ex. The white chocolate layer on the cheesecake in one of my photos lacked white chocolate flavour and tasted more like wax melts that lacked the cocoa butter that white chocolate has. I would've rather had a thin layer of better quality white chocolate for flavour's sake. But if you like your brownies on the fudgier side, they should be on your radar. read more

Dolce Delight was a delight. The perfect spot for a quick yet filling and healthy breakfast. They have a huge menu with tons of different savory breakfast sandwiches. Sandwiches go way beyond your typical bacon and and cheese and featured a variety of unique cheeses and fresh veggie toppings. I really enjoyed my croissant stuffed with egg, spinach, feta and tomato. There is also a large bakery selection with a ton of sweets. I tried a raspberry jam cookie and it was the perfect post-breakfast treat. I washed everything down with some strong coffee and locally made OJ. There is plenty of outdoor seating and even though you are on the main road you still have really nice views. When in Ithaca - even roadside eats feel peaceful and have stellar views. This is down the road from Ithaca College and I'm sure on a weekend morning it's the spot. This is the perfect place to fuel up before a day of hiking / winery fun. Highly recommend! read more

Top spot for breakfast sandwiches. Dolce Delight is a very tiny place so I chose to do takeout. A bit pricey, but worth it -- 2 lattes and 2 breakfast sandwiches came out to be a little less than $40. The Dolce Special was good, but the Green and Red Special was incredible (everything bagel with an egg, roasted red peppers, roasted tomatoes, chicken sausage and pesto). The coffee was fine, but nothing spectacular. I recommend going early as this place is very busy the second it opens. read more

I liked my Harvest Croissant sandwich which is chicken salad on a medium sized, slightly toasted croissant. The chicken salad has walnuts and cranberries. It's served with a slice of cheddar cheese. My kids had tiramisu and said that it was very good. There are about 4 tables inside and the 4 of us sat inside. There's additional seating outside. Lots of baked goods available. My tiramisu iced coffee was good but not amazing. I think often iced coffee in general is not as good as hot, so hot coffee may be richer. I would return again if I am in the area. Dropping of daughter at school and we were in the mood for brunch. We loved the Carriage House but sadly they closed during the pandemic. I found this place on Yelp and it was very good! Don't let the name fool you, they are not just about the dolce; they have plenty of savory as well, which is delightful. So their name is perfect. I had the Sweet Piggy, which is a really good mix of sweet and salty. Just be careful because the syrup can drip out if you are not careful. My wife had the veggie delight, which was good, but you should go with a bagel because the croissant did not hold up to the spinach, tomato, etc. We both got the medium brewed coffee and next time May go with dark as medium is not as strong as some other coffee places. Stopped in for the first time today at 10:30 am to grab some pastries for a friends birthday, and was greeted by a line out the door. The atmosphere inside was hectic but upbeat, and the staff was on point and hustling but all the while looking like they were having a great time as well. I've heard so many great things about this place over the years, and I can see why it's such a popular hangout for IC students and locals as well. I stopped by Dolce Delight on my way to a state park. They have plenty of sandwich options to choose from and everything looked so tasty. I went with The Danby, which had scrambled egg, spinach, tomato, red onion, bacon, and cream cheese. Instead of the bagel, I substituted it with the chipotle biscuit. The sandwich was good, but was a little too salty. Just looking at the biscuit, you can see the salt flakes. I also got a slice of the oreo cheesecake, which was amazing. Dolce Delight is by far my favorite more casual/ take-out breakfast places in Ithaca! My parents agree, insisting to go every day during graduation week! By now I've made my way through all the breakfast sandwiches, all of which are fully customizable! I am particularly fond of their sweet piggy, green eggs and red, and veggie delight- opting usually for a croissant/ biscuit option. However, I have yet to be disappointed with any of their menu items! In my opinion, their coffee is nothing to write home about, but standard and made up by the sweetest staff! Plenty of parking and there is some seating, limited indoor and some outdoors. Sometimes they can be a little hidden, but I ALWAYS get an almond or chocolate croissant if they are available! Super cute cafe near Ithaca college. Even though it's a drive from Cornell, students make the trek for some good breakfast. I've been here several times and tried many things on the menu. The last time I was here I got the kale, avocado, feta, egg bagel. It was delicious! I loved how the feta added some tang to the egg and the kale and avocado gave it a nice vegetable kick. The bagel itself was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My friends also got the classic dolce sandwich and the Cobb salad. They loved both! I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area or live nearby. They sometimes have day old pastries for sale for $1. I've tried the scone, and it was scrumptious. read more

"Dolce Delight" is aptly named, as the people are "dolce" and the food is a "delight"! We've been here a few times for lunch, and each time been fantastic. The Tina, the Hot Sicilian, the BLT; are all delights! The homemade mac & cheese as well as the homemade chili are delicious... These are things that you can make at home but it's nice to go someplace and have somebody make it for you. This is exactly the way it should taste if you do. Almost all of their bakery items are homemade... I think only the croissants are brought in. The pies are perfectly sized to share, and they are beautiful to look at. We ordered two cinnamon rolls, a Veggie Delight Veggie (Egg, Cheddar, Spinach, Guacamole, Tomato) on a croissant, and the Dolce Special (Chipotle Biscuit, Egg, Cheddar, substituted bacon for sausage and hot pepper jelly). It was super delicious and fresh. What a quaint eatery. Wow, I would've loved to have bought or tried some of their other baked goods. But we were passing through to go hiking and kayaking. The cinnamon roll was soft and had the right amount of cinnamon and frosting. The frosting wasn't overly sweet. I would prefer cream cheese frosting but the sugar frosting wasn't too sweet and balanced well with the cinnamon filling. read more

We ordered the d'light and the green monster, both of which were nutritious and delicious. The d'light had everything I wanted and nothing else.
