I wanted to love Carrozza... I did! It's been on my Yelp list for a while. Given the Yelp rating, maybe I expected too much... I don't know. Sadly, Carrozza Pizza didn't cut it for me or my friends. Don't get me wrong, the service itself is fantastic. The employees seem to know everyone who comes in for pick-up (nobody seems to be eating at the restaurant itself), so you get this real sense of being treated like family. The folks here went out of their way to make sure I had everything I wanted for my order, and that everything was as ordered, before I left the restaurant. I'm giving this restaurant a 3/5 rating here on Yelp BECAUSE of the service... otherwise, I'd be giving it a 2/5, honestly. For me, the real downside was the pizza. My order included two large pizzas to split with a couple friends, and 1) the cooked dough was a bit "chewier" (more gluten-y?) in texture than I like, and 2) the center, say, 3rd of each pizza was not cooked well. It was basically soggy and under-cooked. I would pick up a slice and the bottom half of the slice would drop and the toppings would start to slide off. It just wasn't appetizing to any of us. The portions are generous, which they'd honestly have to be because I was initially really surprised with how much my full order cost. I had been told when ordering that I would get a bit of a better deal if I ordered a sheet pizza and just ordered different toppings for parts of it... but that wasn't really what I or my friends wanted. TL;DR Too costly for the quality. Service is great, but that's not enough to get me to make another order anytime soon. read more

There are several booths so I believed that this is a restaurant. It definitely is not. The table was dirty, the pizza was served in a take-out box, the paper plates and napkins were the cheapest possible. There was no music playing, but it was warm enough to eat without a coat on, No beer was available. The water in the dispenser was brown. So if it's a take-out only site I would rate on food quality: We had wings and pizza. The pizza toppings list is very short. Many standard toppings weren't available. Carrozzas is a great local pizza place with employees who truly care. This week they implemented online ordering, which of course comes with it's own sets of challenges and bugs. Despite issues with the system the staff has maintained their composure and their customer service. I appreciate their service above all, and the quality of their pizza and other food items. Back home for a while and headed straight to Carrozza's to get my pizza fix. Been coming here to the little town of Dryden for years and found the atmosphere to be a little more laid back and comfortable. No being rushed through dinner like other pizza places looking just to turn tables. We are always able to take as long as we want to eat and actually connect and establish a great rapport with the staff and heaven forbid have a little fun! Being the meat lovers that we are the family fave is the Carnivore pizza with pepperoni, sausage meatballs, ham and DO NOT forget the bacon. Gives me the meat sweats just thinking about it. The only problem I have is I sadly can't get an ice cold beer to wash it all down with. Oh well no place is perfect, but Carrozza's comes pretty close in my book. read more

My boyfriend and I love pizza and have many family and friends who work in & love pizza too. We just moved from SoCal to Ithaca and were missing our pizza game. We hit up this place because of the reviews and one dollar sign pricing. It's a small place and there wasn't really anyone inside but on a Friday night, tons of people came for pick up. We ordered 10 piece hot traditional wings along with a large pepperoni & garlic pizza--total $33. We ate the wings first and was only able to fit a couple slices of pizza but as soon as I started eating the pizza I regretted not waiting to eat the pizza first (although the wings were delicious)! The pizza crust is pretty thin and just the right amount of crispiness. You can tell the ingredients are of the best quality for the price you're paying. The main guy (owner maybe?) even came to our table to check in on how we were doing and how we liked everything. Very nice staff, most were young but it seemed like they really enjoy what they do and working for a great local place like that. Overall we loved this place and it even reminded us of home with the quality and hospitality. This may be our new pizza place! :) read more

Ordered pizza and wings to be picked up. I show up 40 minutes after ordering and only half my order were done because they gave the other half to someone else because they forgot to make theirs. So I waited 15 minutes while half my wings and pizza sat fir the other half to cook. When they brought them out I asked if they just mixed them with the cold wings. The food is great from the few times I've ordered, and the employees are always nice. I gave this 3/5 because I live literally 1 minute outside of their delivery zone and they can't make an exception for some reason. I want to be able to utilize the delivery option occasionally and I would order every week if I could. Because they won't make the exception, I'll only be ordering on occasion. The other reason for my 3/5 rating is that their menu is considerably limited. They have pizza, wings, a few apps, and salad. Carrozza Pizza is the best pizza and customer service in town! Their cheese is delicious, as is their pizza. The calzones are perfectly sized for 1 (if you're starving) or 2 people. Their sauce is flavorful. The garlic knots are out of this universe scrumptious! I usually ask for more topping on the knots and extra sauce on the pizzas. We don't use or add salt, if any, to our own meals at home, so things taste a little salty (perhaps more delicious?). It's our go-to and glad family got a pizza from there when they had us over for dinner after moving back to the area. This is also the only place that always shows you their finished product and ask if it's acceptable for you! They're always nice there, too. I could eat there everyday. Well done! read more

Went here based on the excellent reviews of their garlic knots. Ours were dry and hard, as if they had been made ahead and microwaved, blah! We ordered basil tomato pizza, but they didn't have any fresh basil only dried basil, so we ordered pepperoni, which was ok. Customer service needs to improve, too. Was very excited to see a new place open in Dryden! Kept it simple and ordered a large cheese pie to give the new place a try. It was very good! Sauce was perfect with more of a tomato flavor than overbearing with spices. Cheese had great flavor! Great customer service..everyone was so nice when we picked it up! This place was recommended to me by a close friend who lives in Dryden. So, I decided to try it. The first time I went I brought someone with me and we got a medium size pepperoni pizza with 10 mild wings and 2 fountain drinks. The total ended up being around $20 with some change. Which isn't bad at all, split the bill between two people that's only $10 or $12 each. The cool thing about this place, is that the employees will ask you if the food looks good before they give it to you. So you have a chance to be like "No, I want them cooked more." (For example) So the customer service gets an A+. Everyone was really nice and pleasant. The wings totally stole the show though. I loved the sauce they used on their mild wings, tangy and delicious. They were also cooked really well with the perfect amount of crispiness. Wings get an A+. The pizza was still really good but the wings are better. Definitely the best pizza I have ever had in Dryden. BUT not the best pizza I have had in this area (including everything from Moravia to Ithaca) Still, really good for Dryden. Me and my friend both left really satisfied with some extra pizza slices to take home in a box. A few days later, I still couldn't stop thinking about their mild wings so I went and picked some up just for myself. Just as good as the first batch. My family LOVES pizza, so we eat a lot of it and it's no easy task to please all three of us, but that's exactly what happened at Carozza's. Garlic knots are my personal favorite and they did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious!!! Pizza was the right amount of grease and toppings (not much and lots--- in that order). And my honey loved the pepperoni roll. Would recommend to anyone in Dryden who is hungry. Very reasonable prices and the staff was very friendly every time we have gone (even on Halloween with our exhausted little one) and just a really great pizza place (which is shocking and awesome to find in rinky dink Dryden, lol). read more

I've been twice now and am pleased with the food and the service. I've had a tomato basil pizza and a pepperoni pizza and both are fresh, generous with the toppings, the crust is delicious. Also we had the honey BBQ wings and they were delicious---crispy, not dry, and the sauce was tangy and seemed home made. It seems like the staff is getting their groove still, because both times I was given an estimated wait time and it was 10 minutes longer than I was told. I bet they work this out in time--it was no big deal. Other people have commented on the staff and I agree. I've found them to be friendly and engaging. They show you your food (open the box and say "how does this look?") which is a small thing but I love that they really want to get it right. Bottom line: I hope they do well and stick around. It saves us a trip to Syracuse or Groton to find good pizza. read more
