Meatball parm
Tommy J.

Had the bbq chicken spiedie and meatball parm sandwich. Both were very good. The chicken is nicely cut with a tangy sweet bbq sauce. Threw me off a little with the taste but still good. The meatballs were slightly dry but tasted good with the sauce. The rolls actually stood out as being really good. Not sure if they bake 'em or from a local bakery. We'll be back to try more.

Philly calzone

This place is rocking my world right now! Crispy, cheesy, meaty, pepper-y are all of the words that describe this calzone. The baked ziti Parmesan is a winner as well.

Solid pizza, kind of what you would expect. Little heavy on the cheese. Good vibe inside.

Carrozza Pizza - Great calzones!!

My order costs was $74. We had no toppings on the pizza. When I questioned the price I was told the updated menu is not online. The wings were very good and the pizza was liked by most.

I wanted to love Carrozza... I did! It's been on my Yelp list for a while. Given the Yelp rating,…read moremaybe I expected too much... I don't know. Sadly, Carrozza Pizza didn't cut it for me or my friends. Don't get me wrong, the service itself is fantastic. The employees seem to know everyone who comes in for pick-up (nobody seems to be eating at the restaurant itself), so you get this real sense of being treated like family. The folks here went out of their way to make sure I had everything I wanted for my order, and that everything was as ordered, before I left the restaurant. I'm giving this restaurant a 3/5 rating here on Yelp BECAUSE of the service... otherwise, I'd be giving it a 2/5, honestly. For me, the real downside was the pizza. My order included two large pizzas to split with a couple friends, and 1) the cooked dough was a bit "chewier" (more gluten-y?) in texture than I like, and 2) the center, say, 3rd of each pizza was not cooked well. It was basically soggy and under-cooked. I would pick up a slice and the bottom half of the slice would drop and the toppings would start to slide off. It just wasn't appetizing to any of us. The portions are generous, which they'd honestly have to be because I was initially really surprised with how much my full order cost. I had been told when ordering that I would get a bit of a better deal if I ordered a sheet pizza and just ordered different toppings for parts of it... but that wasn't really what I or my friends wanted. TL;DR Too costly for the quality. Service is great, but that's not enough to get me to make another order anytime soon.

Franco's Pizzeria - Fantastic Pizza - The Best in Ithaca hands down!

My partner and I have been loyal Franco's customers for many years. We usually grab slices or a pie…read moreto go. Last night, we had a non-stellar experience around 7:30-8pm. There were just 2 other diners, and staff were mostly standing around talking to each other. My partner asked for our toddler's slice to be warmed up "10-20 seconds, it's for a baby" when we received the slice *a few minutes later* it was so hot I burned the roof of my mouth when testing it for her. FIVE MINUTES LATER we received our personal slices which had been left in the oven so long the crust was burnt to a crisp. When I said "excuse me, this is burnt" to the counter person, they looked at me with a blank stare and then proceeded to walk away. As a former server, maitre d, and FOH manager, I know this is not how you appropriately handle a situation in which a guest is upset before even touching their food. There was no offer to replace the (literally black crusted) pizza, no "sorry" no ... anything. Instead, a blank stare as they went back behind the counter to continue their conversation with the pizza cook. The pizza is still great, but if this is what Franco's thinks qualifies as half-way decent customer service - they have some issues that need correcting. I don't know if we'll be back; maybe we will just continue taking to go instead of trying to enjoy a meal on-site.

I asked my real estate agent what was the best pizza in Ithaca. No hesitation she said Franco's…read more Cool little spot reminds me of a drive in a bit with the upfront parking and the big windows. Nice lofted space with high ceilings and the pizza opens prominently displayed smack dab in the middle. Great selection of Neapolitan and Sicilian slices. Italian sodas and desserts. We tried an assortment some garlic knots. Everything with delicious. The Sicilian was particularly airy yet crisp. Pretty good. Definitely agree with it being on of the best pizza spots in Ithaca I have tried to date.

I was a little surprised it was made with rigatoni noodles. I double checked the menu and it does say over spaghetti. The bottom of the container was a layer of oil. This business is mostly catering and takeout. But we've eaten here twice now with 7 people. It's about 20 minutes from Ithaca so it's nice to not have to wait for the table. The homemade bread came out quickly with the most amazing olive oil based dipping sauce! I could have lived on this. Seriously. So good. The menu is expansive so it's hard to choose but we had the fried ravioli appetizer and EVERYBODY raved about it. It was so delicious. The portions were just humongous. We literally boxed up over half of what we ordered. They specialize in Greek and Italian food and everyone loved what they got. They only serve water and soda. I found out later, we could have brought alcohol in if we wanted but that wasn't important to us. Menu prices are out of date so keep this in mind. It ended up being about $50/person including a generous tip. If you're in the area, give Gus's place a try. You won't be disappointed!

I know it was only take-out but what an amazing experience!…read more The online ordering through the restaurant website was really easy and it gave me a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $30. I was shocked at the 45 minute wait time for some chicken wings but, I saw how busy they were when I go there. I loved the atmosphere when I walked in. It was busy at the bar and restaurant but no one was waiting for a seat. That's a great sign. Immediately, I was asked if I had an order. I told the gentleman I could wait but he went back and put a rush on the wings. Within 10 minutes I had the wings, and an apology for how long it took. Although, it was well before my 45 minute pick up time. The parking lot is a bit cramped but there's not much room to expand. Besides, they have been there since I was a kid. The wings were so good. They came with blue cheese, celery, and carrots. Overall, this place is well above 5 stars. I can't wait to dine in and visit the bar side. Great service and I hope they stay open for another 40+ years.
