    Meatball parm
    Tommy J.

Had the bbq chicken spiedie and meatball parm sandwich. Both were very good. The chicken is nicely cut with a tangy sweet bbq sauce. Threw me off a little with the taste but still good. The meatballs were slightly dry but tasted good with the sauce. The rolls actually stood out as being really good. Not sure if they bake 'em or from a local bakery. We'll be back to try more.

    Philly calzone

This place is rocking my world right now! Crispy, cheesy, meaty, pepper-y are all of the words that describe this calzone. The baked ziti Parmesan is a winner as well.

Solid pizza, kind of what you would expect. Little heavy on the cheese. Good vibe inside.

Some restaurants in the area were not pleasant to even obtain pricing. Brewer's answered the phone and they were wonderful from our initial conversation, right up until the last few moments of our night there. We ordered Tier 2 - five appetizers and two entrees. Our appetizers were Caprese Salad, Charcuterie Board, Veggie Board, Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Poutine. All were freshly prepared presented in a timely manner. Our entrees were the brisket and the salmon. The brisket was smoked for four hours and was the best brisket many of us had ever had. The salmon was cooked to perfection and delicious. We would definitely host another party at Brewer's and now we have a go-to place for when we are in the area for a family meal. Loved our experience here!

We went a little after they opened and it was a great time because it wasn't too busy. Any time I drive by the parking lot is full. They have parking in the front and around the right side of the building. I tried the Meier's Creek Choccy Milk, Other Half BA 10X Bananaversary, TALEA Beer Hibiscus Splash, and Allagash Allagash White and I enjoyed all of them. The bathrooms were clean and easy to find and I can't wait to go back in the spring/summer to check out their outside seating because they have about 15 tables. They also host a game night and have live music. Definitely a hotspot in the Ithaca area.

Then I saw pictures of the food on the Cortland eats and treats Facebook page, and man did it look good! When we finally went, we got the pretzel sticks as an appetizer, and my husband got the jalapeño burger and I got garlic park wings with sweet potato fries. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! Everything came out super fast (almost too fast, it all came out at once and it ended up being a TON of food). I ordered 5 wings, they charged me for 5, but they gave me 10. I got a mule flight which was fun. The blueberry lemon mule was REALLY good, but the spiced pear was a little odd. They accidentally poured the wrong beer for someone else and so they offered my Husband a free extra beer. All in all great service and a great place! Don't judge a bar by its name folks!

They had an option between a red or white sangria. They have a WIDE variety of alcoholic beverages available. Almost a whole page of the menu was dedicated to this. We both had sandwiches and were happy with them! The turkey club was huge and I was more than full from half of it. The chicken sandwich was also pretty good and my gentleman enjoyed it. We ordered poutine as a side which was hot, salty, and savory. The gravy was flavorful and the cheese curds were nicely melted. The fries were clearly hand-cut which is a great touch! If I went back I would definitely order it again. Nice place to stop for a casual meal in a convenient location.

I have family who live nearby Butcher's Son and have raved how awesome the burgers are for a while…read morenow. Fourth of July 2025 weekend, I finally had a chance to grab a burger with them and holy moly, they were so right - This might be the best burger I've ever eaten! We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to grab a parking spot on the street, practically right in front of the entrance to Butcher's Son! They're located at one end of Market St. in Corning, now I don't frequent Corning often so I don't know if there's a big parking lot or more side streets to park along, but I could definitely foresee this street being packed with people and cars during the week. I think the time we arrived was a big part as to why we had no trouble getting a parking spot as well as being able to easily find a table after placing our order. The three of us walked in and it really is a butcher shop that has a small menu of burgers, fries, and specialty sandwiches (I saw a steak sandwich on their menu). There was a large, bar-style table with stools to sit along in the front with a station full of cutlery, napkins, packaged ketchup, stuff like that, nothing too fancy but clean and orderly. A courteous, friendly gentleman took our food order and told us to grab a seat anywhere we like and they'd get our food to us. We ended up taking over one of the tables, with an umbrella, outside and we were the only ones out there! It was nice to sit, talk, hang out for a bit, the relaxed, quiet atmosphere was nice. About 10-15 minutes later, all of orders were boxed up and brought out to us. For my late lunch/early dinner meal, I ordered the Fun Guy Burger, which is two smashed beef patties topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, bacon jam, and Swiss cheese, along with a side of their hand-cut shoestring fries. Oh. My. Goodness! Wow, was this burger out of this world good. That had to be the freshest, juiciest, perfectly-cooked burger patties I have ever eaten. There were tons of sautéed mushrooms and onions on top and they were incredibly generous with the bacon jam. The Swiss cheese was melted just right and paired so well with the other toppings. The bun was toasted and held everything together very well. The burger itself is big and is honestly the perfect portion as you'll certainly be full without feeling any sort of "meat sweats"! haha They were very generous with the portion of fries as well. Personally, I liked the way these fries were cooked where they weren't crispy/crunchy but they weren't limp at all. Whatever they were fried in gave these fries an awesome flavor without having a ton of salt and pepper thrown on them. I really liked their fries; I'm not a huge fry-person but these would probably be at the top of my list. Another thing that I have to call out was how reasonable their prices were. Coming from Buffalo, burger prices are really expensive for what you get but Butcher's Son, my meal - burgers, fries, water, probably came near $20, maybe a few cents over that, which in 2025, is phenomenal value! My family told me that Butcher's Son came in first place in the New York Beef Council's "Best NY Burger" competition for 2025. My family and the competition judges are spot on and Butcher's Son totally deserves, and earned, the accolades and awards. Everything from the staff, the focused menu, the quality food, the portions, are great! Next time I'm in Corning, I can't wait to come back here and grab another burger and fries!
