wow, is this place good! fun, colorful, authentic decor. very welcoming staff. flavorful food and interesting menu options! i went to meet a coworker for lunch and was really happy with all the dishes on the menu not to mention the bold flavors! portions were great (we each walked away with a takeaway box) and flavors were as well. i'd come back here for sure. i had been craving thai food and this really helped satisfy that. wish i lived closer but i'd definitely recommend this to people living in north seattle or in the vicinity. read more

When we first arrived there was a wait list and a posted wait time of 20+ minutes. Luckily they texted us in only about five minutes, but unfortunately the host was preoccupied... so we waited near the entrance until they called my name. The host was very quiet and although I didn't hear him, luckily my daughter did. I asked for a five star curry with Salmon, but they informed me that they could only do three stars so ordered the three star curry, a side of spicy sauce and rice. My daughter ordered the Phad See Eiw with tofu. The server delivered the wrong noodle dish, I immediately said that it wasn't what we ordered; she ignored me, dropped it off and left for the next table where they informed her that she had swapped the dishes. The salmon was quite good, seared and crispy around the edges. The curry wasn't spicy at all, so I had to add the full side of spicy sauce. The spicy sauce made it spicy enough, but it was sour. I tried to explain this to the server; instead of hearing me out she immediately brought more spicy sauce. Finally I was able to get them to cook the curry with the spicy sauce making it less sour and the flavor was good. The rice was definitely insufficient for the amount of curry ordered, which I found strange given how cheap rice is. I tried my daughters noodles. They use a cheaper oil and added lots of sugar, making it a sub par dish. We also ordered a young coconut, but it wasn't that young and the meat was hard. At $12 for an item that costs $1.50 I was underwhelmed. Overall the dishes were hit and miss, and the service was sub par. Try it at your own risk. read more

It's been a while since there has been a restaurant in Seattle I've been truly excited to work through the menu of - really try every item as the dishes are so unique, well prepared and flavorful. Isarn is the one! This time I tried the Chiang Mai noodles which was beautiful and bursting with flavor - and also huge - it seemed like there was an entire bird worth of chicken in the dish. Also went for the beef appetizer which was chewy (in a good way) and satisfying and the eggplant/ground chicken appetizer, which was also good. The place is clean and well decorated - good for a night out, and service is friendly and helpful. read more

Came for happy hour ur and got lychee martinis for $8 each! The Thai green papaya salad is good, I recommend getting the full size since the happy hour version is much smaller and only a couple dollars less. Service was great even with it being busy. I like the decor, tables are spacious and the seating is comfortable. read more

Finally decided to try this spot out after my shift tonight... andddd it was pretty good! Not the most authentic pad Thai, but it was filling and had a good noodle to egg to bean sprout etc etc ratio. I decided to opt for prawns (+$2) instead of chicken or tofu, and the prawns were cooked really well! Another plus for me: normally I feel pretty crappy after eating e.g. Americanized pad thai...but I actually didn't really any negative aftermath from an energy perspective -- and this is after eating the entire thing in one sitting hahahaha read more

I've ordered from Isarn more times than I can count at this point, and today was no different -- another solid meal that reminded me why I keep coming back. I got the phad thai with beef, phad kee mao with beef, and the duck larb gai salad. All three were delicious in that very-Isarn way: bold flavors, super fresh, and just the right amount of heat. The phad thai was perfectly balanced, the phad kee mao had that great spicy, savory kick, and the duck larb was insanely flavorful -- bright, nutty, and oh-so-satisfying! This place is consistent every single time, which is honestly why they've become one of my go-to spots in Ravenna. read more

Isarn has become our go-to when we're looking for some good eats in the big city, and this little spot on 65th St seems to do it especially well. From the cozy vibes and eclectic decor, as soon as I walk in the door I feel like I've been transported to a quaint street in Bangkok! During our last visit, we happened to get there just before happy hour ended (I didn't even know they had a HH but...yay). We ordered a couple of discounted draft beers (I had a Singha, dude had a Trickster IPA), a plate of their sinfully delish lemongrass chicken wings, and a green papaya salad that was super spicy in that you-have-to-just-keep-eating-it sort of way. For a main course, we also ordered pad kee mao with pork - the noodles were wide and delish and everything was so fresh. The ingredients here always just feel next level, not like something that was purchased from the local produce delivery service. Service has always been friendly and wonderful here, too. Can't wait to go back! read more

Love coming to Isarn Thai Soul in Kirkland for happy hour! The variety of food options is great, and the steamed squid is just so good -- always a must-order for us. They also have a solid selection of HH drinks to pair with everything. This has definitely become our go-to happy hour spot! read more

The atmosphere is date night, however many families dine here and could get very loud. Parking was a huge hassle, and during peak hours it will be difficult to find parking and might need to park far and walk to the place. I heard many good things about the place hope it lives up to it. Off to the food review! 3.7/5 - Hai Yat Fried Chicken - The skin is beautifully fried, and tasted good, but surprisingly the meat itself was kind of dried and really needed the sweet sticky sauce to make up for it. Really missed the mark on the cook but skin was good. Tried sticky rice with it as it was recommended, not really needed and didn't really mesh together as i expected in flavors. 3.3/5 - Mushroom Fritters - Was highly recommended by the waiter. It has a decent crisp but the flavor of the mushroom was quite overpowering. Sauce helped in bit, but in general not a fan of the dish. My partner who ordered it hoped it similar to calamari, but didn't really live up to how much the waiter was pushing it. 3.8/5 - Chiang Mai Curry Noodles - Crispy noodles served with a coconut-y curry soup that was quite flavorful. Presentation is top notch and looks very appetizing. The sweetness of the curry really does the dish justice, but blending all the complex flavors together. Wished there was more meat as the portion of noodles was way higher than expected. Overall felt this place was overhyped. Seen the high reviews and with the difficult parking and subpar food i can't really say its one of the better thai restaurants. Decent place at least, but nothing special as i hoped for. read more

An incredible ambiance right off 65th and near the 62 bus line :) a convenient romantically lit spot. We had so many delicious dishes and really went ham on the happy hour. - Chicken Wings - Som Tum (Papaya Salad) - (2) grilled squids For the mains we got the Chu Chi Red Curry! This was delish and we got 1/3 stars for spiciness- could have gone up they were very light on the spicy. The other dish was recommended by the server some fried pork to match with the jasmine rice and we also enjoyed this. Definitely has the street eats vibe with an upscale ambiance. The service was very attentive & we enjoyed our meal. read more

We love their Kirkland location and have walked by this location a couple times on our way to other restaurants, finally decided to try them for dinner. We got Mushroom Fritters, Chu Chi Red Curry Dinner w/ Salmon, and Kao Man Gai. We have had Mushroon Fritters in Kirkland and love it. This one was greasy and a bit soggy, didn't have the same crunchy texture as Kirkland. First time trying Kao Man Gai, the chicken was very bland for me. I was told that is how it is traditionally made. We liked the Chu Chi Red Curry Dinner w/ Salmon. read more

We shared: 1. Hat Yai Fried Chicken - southern Thai fried (all natural WA) chicken, crispy shallots 2. Northern style Sweet Curry - flank steak slowly braised in earthy fragrant curry with shallots, pickled garlic, fresh ginger slices. 3. Isarn Pork Sausage - made-in-house fermented sour sausages filled w/ minced pork, sticky rice, and herbs. Served w/ fresh ginger, peanuts, chillies, cabbage 4. Minced Duck Salad - minced duck w/ ground toasted rice, shallots, coriander, mint leaves. Seasoned w/ chilli powder, fish sauce, fresh lime juice I would sum up the food as delightfully flavorful and fresh. However, most of the meats need work. I've eaten a lot of duck and the ground meat in the duck salad could've easily been mistaken as pork. The beef in the northern curry was terribly dry. The fried chicken was crispy, seasoned but the white meat was also dry. Service was subpar. Our table wasn't checked on and we had to find someone for the check (restaurants not even fully seated). read more

Unpictured: Acacia leaf soup and pad kee mow with beef, Thai tea TLDR: best Thai food I've had in Seattle so far! Can't wait to go back. Mango sticky rice is seasonal so run to get it ! I would go literally just for that desert. A good amount to share between 4 people after a full meal. Acacia soup was something new for us. Didn't really know what to expect. Wasn't our favorite... it has a more salty, tomato flavor. A little bitter in my opinion. The Phuket pork was my personal favorite, reminded me of adobo. Brought the remainder of the broth home to eat it was rice. Service was quick and they were very friendly ! We went on a cold day and the temperature sitting my the window was comfortable. New favorite Thai spot in Seattle! Isarn is the sister restaurant to Kin Len in Fremont and it's delicious. I was excited to see that there were multiple Isarn locations across Seattle and Kirkland. We came to this location on a Saturday night for dinner. There was no wait around 630 and we were seated right away. Pad see ew (8/10) Shrimp curry (10/10) Fermented sausage (5/10) Papaya salad (9/10) Mango sticky rice (8/10) Overall, everything was delicious. Would pass on the fermented sausage next time. It was ok but nothing special. Mango sticky rice is my fave but the rice was super hard at the bottom. Would order again to see if it was a fluke. Level 1 spicy is super mild, would go level 2 next time :) Parking is rough. read more

I am so glad my cousin brought me here for a late lunch, early dinner. We were seated immediately and ordered the corn salad, medium spice level, and the wings on happy hour special. We also ordered a thai tea and thai coffee. For entrees, we got the special noodle dish with medium spice level and the steak. Everything went beautifully together and spice level was a build up so do not ask for more if you can't handle it. It was perfect. The service was spot on and they recommended medium spice, which I won't lie I was skeptical because everyone says it's hot and it's not. This was accurate. The restaurant was super clean and inviting. It was very simply decorated. Parking can be tricky but there is street parking and you can get a nice little walk in too. read more

The manager of the restaurant, PK, kicked my family of 10 out of the restaurant, when my son started crying at 2:30pm during a non-busy time at the restaurant. This was highly unprofessional and unacceptable. We love this restaurant, but will never come back again. We are paying customers just like everyone else, so we are appalled this happened. The manager proceeded to charge us for the food after asking us to leave. Pathetic. read more

We visited on Sunday just before 7pm. Parking is on the street and there were a couple spots at the front of the restaurant. This place is not too big with 3 booths at the bar and 6-8 tables in the dining area. The decor had hints of Thailand and was beautifully done. We were greeted quickly and our order was taken. We ordered the beef Pad See Eiw, pork belly stew and a chicken red curry. The ice tea was tasty and had a bit strong carmel flavor. The sauce with the pork belly was good and a great companion to a bowl of rice. The pork lacked flavor but was soft and easy to chew. The red curry was thinner than I like but the flavors were well balanced. The pad see Eiw was sweeter than I like. I prices are reasonable and I would come back if I am in the area again. read more

Solid Thai food in the Ravenna area. Isarn is an easy take-out/delivery option for my fiance and me since we live in the neighborhood. The food is generally consistent. Papaya salad, Tom yum or Tom kha. All pretty good. Even with delivery. We dined in for the first time last night, though - and let me say, dining in the restaurant elevated the food! Definitely a step up in flavor and experience. Something about the food served hot is better (obviously). But I was nonetheless surprised by how good the food was. I guess my impression based on take-out was a bit biased. (I'd prolly rate take-out taste at 3 to 3.5/5 stars, which means it meets standards/gets the job done). To be fair, bf and I did not get our norm take-out order last night. We got the lettuce wraps (5/5), spicy and sweet northern style curry (4.5/5), pad kee mau (5/5), and the egg omelette prawn curry (4/5). All were pretty darn tasty. Isarn's food runs sweeter in general, hence 4/5 stars. It's not my preference to be as sweet as they do things, but they do enough with the other flavors (salty, acid/sour, and spicy) to help balance things out. The pad kee mau last night was a stand out with the high wok heat adding that must layer of char to the dish. The interior is beautifully done. Elevated Thai soul food vibes - definitely on par with what I experienced in the heart of modern downtown Bangkok. Highly recommend dining in (not take-out) if you decide to try Isarn. Or if you've only done take-out so far, make the effort to drop in. Parking is usually available in the neighborhood streets. read more

The restaurant is such a cute date night spot!! Very beautifully decorated :) For just the desserts (durian sticky rice and young coconut cream), it would be a 10000/10! Highly recommend the durian sticky rice! The young coconut cream had tapioca and the option for a poached egg (definitely recommend) The entrees were delicious but we expected the portions to be larger - they were so small we considered ordering more. The crab stir fry yellow curry was better than the salted egg yolk squid but both were super flavorful. Just for the size of the entree, I'd prefer other spots. Servers were attentive and very friendly! read more

I swear, Isarn's mushroom fritters is the bomb. Crunchy oyster mushrooms (battered and perfectly deep fried, served with sweet plum sauce) is a great substitute of any given basket of fries. This is all I need for the happy hour, along with an ice cold pint of beer. For dinner thou, Som Tum and Chiang Mai Curry Noodles are the must-try here. I love the variety of Som Tum they carry here - these papaya salad are very flavorful yet refreshing, with plentiful fresh herbs and spices. Curry Noodle is served in the bowl with a nutty-er, thicker curry soup. Noodle is about linguine width, which goes very well with this kind of soup. Noodle is served with a large portion of chicken and some fried noodle on top - enjoy the different textures of noodles (soft in the soup and crunchy on top of the soup) to savor this wonderful dish. Isaean is a solid Thai establishment in Kirkland, and I will make another visit soon, when I am ready for another 'shroom fritters. read more

We don't usually go up to this area, but we were up here for my daughter flag football practice. We had some time to kill and it was pretty much lunch time so I yelped for the closest Asian restaurant and Isarn came up with good reviews and the menu attracts my attention. I love mushroom so we ordered two mushroom dishes, but I like the garlic mushroom more I guess because I can taste the mushroom and also the flavoring is just right. The seafood tom yum is on point. We like sour stuff and the tom yum is made sour just right. The Phad See Eiw is good but it's a tiny bit salty (for me) and I thought the grilled fresh squid would be grilled but it doesn't seem like it. And according to my husband, their restroom is really clean and no smell. It says a lot about a place and their service. We don't like to go dine at places with filthy and smelly restroom. It's just disgusting. And we like the ambience, it's cozy. read more

Stopped in earlier this month while visiting Seattle. The food was tasty and the service was great! 10/10 experience.

I've come here many times, and my favorite dish is always the lamb skewers with a peanut l sauce! I enjoy the green papaya salad as well. Their cocktails are fun, today I enjoyed the lychee martini. Previously, I've had the cocktail in a coconut - or just the (alcohol-free) young coconut. The restaurant itself looks new, clean, and has a consistent theme. I don't think the service is anything special - the wait staff are kind, but they are not particularly attentive. read more

Isarn and Kin Len are sister restaurants and both SO delicious and vibrant and relatively affordable. The ambiance is inviting, full of color and culture. I feel so lucky that I'm neighbors with the Ravenna Isarn! We came and tried new dishes for lunch (dishes shown in restaurant). The hat yai fried chicken was my favorite of them all. The chicken is juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The papaya salad is refreshing and perfectly complements the richer curries and soups. I really enjoyed trying the snapper hot pot which features a whole fish! I also tried durian for the FIRST time here and I'm obsessed.
