Hands down some of the best Thai food I've had in the area. I love Isan food. And they do it absolutely right here. There was not thing we ordered that wasn't divine. Not pictured but grilled squid was absolutely perfect. Light seasoning that delivered a strong punch & so tender. I absolutely still salivate over this. The Sai Krok Isarn (pork sausage) was everything it's supposed to be. It's tangy, fermented with a slightly sour flavor. It's grilled with crispy skin and juicy interior. The Tum Luang Prabang (LAO) is everything it is supposed to be. The papaya ribbons were fresh and crunchy. The sauce was dank and funky and sour and just as spicy as I asked. Nham Khao Tod is the most perfect. The crispy rice with fermented pork and pork skins, fresh herbs, peanuts. It was savory, tangy, amazing textural variety. The Pad Thai was sweet and savory and coated in just the right amount of sauce. Tom Zab is a balanced of sour and spicy with tender riblets. The mango and sticky rice is the perfect way to end a meal. The savory notes from coconut milk with the sweet mango. Butterfly tea lemonade was delicious as it was beautiful. I can't wait to come back. Our server was amazing. She was friendly and really understood when I was telling her i wanted my food Pet Pet. They didn't waiver once on my spice level. I asked about a Lao/thai dish that i didn't see on the menu and she told me about two other options I could get. And indeed I did. And just that extra thoughtfulness went the extra mile for me. Tried this spot for a late lunch with a friend and really enjoyed it. The interior is warm, inviting, and has an open-seating setup. We ordered the Thai red curry, pad Thai, krapow with ground pork and a sunny-side-up egg, and the sai-ua herb sausage. Service was quick, and the food came out fast for a late lunch. Even though I'm usually not a big fan of sausage, the sai-ua was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly--honestly impressive. My favorite dish was the krapow; it was so delicious that I'd happily drive out of my way just for that. The red curry was good--not outstanding--but curry lovers will appreciate it. The pad Thai It leans slightly on the sweeter side, but the overall quality is excellent. We finished with mango sticky rice. The mangoes aren't quite like Asian mangoes, but for what's available in the U.S., it was still a satisfying dessert--not overly sweet and a nice way to end the meal. We went around 7:00 pm and the place was packed. Luckily, there was one table available and we were seated within about 5 minutes (around 7:05 pm). The service, however, was very slow. The server came to take our order after 10 minutes, but we didn't receive water until 7:40 pm, and our food arrived around 7:50 pm about 30 minutes later. The wait time felt quite long. When you first walk in, the seafood smell is quite strong, although it does subside after about 10 minutes. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and asked for it very spicy. It was indeed spicy, but it lacked flavor. I was surprised to see green beans in the dish, which was actually a nice touch, and it did come with a lot of vegetables. We came at 5:30 on Thursday party of 6 and were seated right away. This is what we ordered. Overall the food was good, sometimes a little oily, I would come here again to try the other foods. I would recommend coming here. There's also big parking in the back and a back entrance too GET DESSERT! The 3 ice cream plate had coconut, Thai tea, mango and jellies and the combo is delicious. Larb Thai is a fantastic addition to the Seattle food scene. After hearing about it since it opened last year, we finally ordered takeout -- mainly because we'd been eager to try their duck salad. The Larb Ped did not disappoint at all: incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and with a great spice kick. We also ordered the Lao style papaya salad with salted crab and pork rinds, and the chicken pad Thai, and every dish was outstanding. The flavors were well balanced, bold, and the different textures of the ingredients played so well together. Everything had that satisfying, authentic Thai heat and depth. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the area, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Chinese hot pot. Japanese hot pot. But have you tried Thai hot pot? I went with the seafood + meat set and everything was fantastic. The meat was perfectly tender, and the broth had this wonderful mild flavor that felt lighter and healthier than the super spicy options you usually find. It was flavorful without being overwhelming. The real star though? The sauces. Seriously addicting. I kept going back for more and it made the experience so much more interesting. Generous portions, but you might be seriously tempted by the appetizer offerings too. The interior is adorable and well-designed. Service was excellent, which doesn't surprise me since the owners also run another Thai restaurant in Roosevelt (which is also the best!!!!). Honestly, food was decent and would be 4.5 stars, but the service was just so bad. Our main server was fine and polite, but the other server was extremely rude. They did not serve us water and we had to ask for it, even though other tables that came after us received it. The main issue is the other server, who we tried to ask for a couple of napkins and spoon-- who just made eye contact and ignored us. Pad see ew-- soft tofu was hard but noodles had nice flavor. 3. Tom yum soup-- sooooo salty I had to pour extra water in. 4. Fried egg rolls--fried nicely and was very crispy. This was only thing I liked. 5. Sticky rice-- came in a small weave basket thing but the hot rice inside was wrapped in saran wrap. We all know the harmful effects of saran wrap on hot foods. I'm so happy to see this new Thai restaurant offering nontraditional Thai dishes that actually taste good and authentic. They have a wide variety on the menu, and luckily we went with a big group so we got to try a lot. I'd say about 90% of the dishes were on point. The papaya salad was the only one that wasn't consistent. We reordered it because the first one was great, but the second didn't quite hit the mark. Portions are on the smaller side, so I'd recommend ordering two dishes per person. That said, the total cost was very reasonable. I do have to mention, however, that the round dish with the hole in the middle (I'm guessing it's traditional) isn't practical, especially when it's holding ice cream that melts. I had a pretty disappointing experience here. The service was consistently poor throughout the visit. Staff came across as inattentive and, at times, outright rude, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. What's especially frustrating is that this seems to be a recurring issue, based on other reviews. For the prices they're charging, I expected a much higher level of hospitality. There are plenty of well-established Thai restaurants nearby that offer better food and far more welcoming service. Salmon curry - flavorful and balanced curry and a generous portion of salmon. Tried 4/5 star spice and the dish wasn't overwhelmed by it. The Mali jasmine drink was super sweet. The single wait staff that I saw covered all tables and takeout calls politely and warmly. On arrival the place was about 1/4 occupied and my order arrived quickly. Tables and seats were clean, the floor could have used a quick sweep. Simple decorations and lighting was great: bright enough to read the menu and see your food, but not blinding. After reading the recent Seattle Met article on the newest Thai restaurants from people that already run some of our favorite restaurants, my partner and I knew we had to give Larb a try. We live a few blocks from Thaprachan, and so this is a bit further out of the way but was more than worth the trip - the food is absolutely fabulous and flavorful. We shared the kor moo yang (grilled marinated pork jowl), goong chair nam pla (raw shrimp on a slaw with bitter melon and a spicy lime sauce), and pad med mamuang (stir fry with pineapple and a cashew nut house sauce, we opted for chicken). The goong chair nam pla was me being a bit adventurous, trying raw shrimp for the first time, and they were so fresh and tender, which worked perfectly with the spice and crunch of the salad - and then the kor moo yang was just the right thing to cut the heat. The pad med mamuang isn't a typical, Americanized dish with cashews just tossed on. They are a subtle part of the sauce, and the whole thing was just delicious. The restaurant itself is open and welcoming, and the service was on point. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu! read more

We visited Larb Thai for lunch when they first opened. The interior was cheery and bright, with peppy modern southeast asian pop music playing divertingly. Our waitress knew exactly how to help us order the perfect appetizers and sides so everyone had just what they wanted. Even though my family has eaten and cooked Thai food for 20 years, we were able to find many dishes we'd never seen before - all of them in ample portions with thick, flavorful sauces and curries. I was especially pleased with the soup, which came in a massive flame-heated dish. The meat was extremely tender, compared to other places that make the chicken or pork too overdone in slow-cooked stews and curries. All this for about $16 per entree, nice and fast at lunchtime, and we all left with leftovers that we're itching to have all over again. Larb Thai has some of the most authentic Isan (NE Thailand) dishes on their menu that I've ever seen at a Seattle area Thai restaurant. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a "Happy Hour" list of $10 entrees. I ordered the Gaeng Om Gai, which was really good and included Thai eggplant and a lot of lean pieces of chicken breast meat. I also ordered their mushroom Larb, which was amazing, A-ROI MAK! (delicious), and the closest thing to authentic Larb that you can order outside of Thailand. All the ingredients in both dishes were fresh, plentiful, and delicious.
