    Gyuudon bowl
    Matthew C.

Checked out Isankaya because I heard about the fusion food they have of Japanese Thai and Laos food. The inside was clean and nicely decorated. The menu had a lot of great options. Given that it's a fusion restaurant there was a lot to choose from. I opted for the Gyuudon bowl. The taste was good but I felt the portion was a bit small. Pad see ew was good. Service was friendly. I'd come back to try some other dishes

The service is very good. The staff are all so sweet and welcoming. Love them for doing such a great job serving us. The place is small but clean. The decor was simple but authentic. It is both a Thai and Japanese restaurant. We had a table of 6. We all just got back from a trip and were starving. So we ordered quite a lot of dishes. We got crunchy roll sushi, salmon tuna don bowl, eel bowl, papaya lao style, chicken larb, grilled chicken, namtok steak, grilled steak with jeow, basil noodles, and basil chicken. Our favorites were the steak dishes and the papaya. They were cooked to perfection. The sauces for the steaks were so good! I love namtok salad and this one did not disappoint. The papaya lao style was so good. The eel was very good. I was impressed at how good the eel bowl was and the sauce on it was the perfect amount. I just wished the sticky rice was fresh or put in a bowl at least. It was warmed up in a microwave and given to me in a plastic sandwich bag. It was very weird! Like it was someone's lunch they packed and it was warmed up in a microwave then given to me. The portion sizes for every dish was small. We did share everything at our table but we cleared it up and we ordered a lot. The basil noodles didn't have much flavor. It just tasted like basil but I liked how it was piping hot when it arrived. I like my food hot so that was a good thing. The chicken larb was minced too much to the point where I couldn't taste if it was chicken or not. It could've been tofu. Totally could've tricked me. It didn't have much flavor to it. I needed some lime or something. Overall, this place was pretty good. I would go back there for papaya and the steak salad.

Casual restaurant in the busy Hong Kong plaza. I really liked the drunken noodle it had a nice hint of spice. I also liked that there were plenty of veggies throughout. The Thai tea was pretty good just a bit on the sweeter side. I did not really enjoy the Tom yum soup I felt like it was really salty but not a lot of flavor. The sushi was really good and tasted pretty fresh (sadly I don't remember the name of the roll, but it did have mango). I would definitely come again and try more dishes.

We ordered from the Thai menu, papaya salad , chicken feet salad and spicy beef soup was very authentic in flavor. We were greeted by a friendly smile and great service. The decor is modern chic.

Pad Thai was really good. Noodles are thinner than most other places (which was pleasantly different). Num Tuk beef was steak meat.

Octopus zapp and lobster tempura roll

The next time someone asks me for great food close by I'm recommending this place!!. Nice variety. Each dish was delish but my favorite was the octopus zapp (if you like spice and tang this is for you!). The restaurant is in a plaza so parking is plentiful. If you're going with your girlfriends you will feel safe at night. The inside is clean, trendy, and makes you want to come back.

The short, thin hostess at the front repeatedly rolled her eyes behind our backs while seating us. I didn't notice it at the time, but our friend pointed it out towards the end of our meal, and it left a very negative impression. Our server was also inattentive. He checked on nearly every table around us multiple times but rarely came by ours. We ordered over $150 worth of food for just the two of us, yet received very little service. Despite that, we still left a 20% tip. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing as well. A lot of the food arrived cold. The quality and taste were nowhere near as good as what we remembered from previous visits. After giving this restaurant multiple chances, we can confidently say we will not be returning.

Arrived around noon on Saturday and it was already very busy. Plenty of options for hot and cold selections. We sat in a cozy comfy booth by the sushi bar where the experienced chefs created lots of items as well as greeting everyone. We opted for the panko shrimp pseudo bento box that included miso soup, salad, 5 tasty shrimp, + seafood salad ! We ordered their version of a caterpillar roll which included 3 types of fresh fish inside and avocado outside. For the California eel roll, we omitted the krab stick for more avocado, eel was on top. Different but tasty version. Plenty of food especially for lunch. Service was friendly, efficient, and prompt especially for the volume of diners. Overall, a very pleasant experience and recommend it!

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?
