Service is excellent and attentive. Food is fantastic - crusted flounder was superb.

Great atmosphere and surprisingly upscale! Very pricey but the food at the bar was pretty good, wine was as well. On weekends they have a band. Very relaxing read more

Located as part of a hotel, it is superior to most hotel restaurants and in fact stands alone as a quality place to eat. The food is good but standard. Steak, chicken, pasta, etc... The location improves the overall score of the place due to few quality options within walking distance for the traveler. read more

When we walked in we were impressed by the decor. The hostess was a gem. As she seated us, she told us the history of the building and made us feel comfortable immediately. Whoever wrote the menu should be employed in a marketing capacity. The descriptions lead me to expect much better food than what we received. First we ordered 2 Sangrias which were just "OK". We ordered an appetizer, Baked, Stuffed Littlenecks, which we mistakenly thought was a version of a Clams Casino. NOT. They were Stuffed Quahogs "Stuffies". The Caprese Salad was very good. No complaints. The Seafood Casserole was very, very dry and not a casserole at all. More like a sauté sprinkled with some crumbs and baked again. The dessert... I have never sent back a Creme Brûlée EVER. This was a first. It was slightly soured and watery. Our waiter needs to be trained again. He never came back and asked us how the food was. We had to flag him down on more than one occasion. Shortly after receiving our drinks we asked for napkins or coasters because the glasses were sweating all over the table. And then again, when he brought us after dinner coffee, he set our spoons down on a bare table. No place to put used spoons with coffee and milk all over them. I would have rated this different if it was just a sandwich or burger place with a simple menu. But when the menu has Filet Mignon as a choice I expect a certain quality of food. The live music was AWESOME. Food not so awesome at all. They need to change their menu or hire a better cook. If you can't do it right it is best not to do it at all. read more

So, we're staying at the attached hotel and are at the end of our week long trip. We fly early tomorrow and don't want a huge meal. We are treated very well by the staff! Maybe they've read the reviews and are trying harder. We ordered a Caesar salad, some chowder and the Mac and cheese with short rib to share. Upon request, they brought bread with dipping oil. The oil had good flavor, but the bread was nothing to write home about. The salad was good. She tells me the chowder was okay. As for the Mac with short rib, it was good, but I wouldn't get it again. It could have used more short rib. We did see some impressive looking dishes being served around us and the patrons seemed to be enjoying them. Hopefully we'll be up for a full meal on our return. We would recommend this place. read more

I was staying at HGI on a business trip and ordered room service from Iron Works Tavern. I was pretty excited that the hotel had an actual restaurant attached to it, and that they would bring your order to your room! I ordered the Broccoli penne with chicken and Chardonnay, which I told would be delivered to my room in 35 minutes. An hour later I called down to the restaurant and found out the girl who took my order, Erica, did not write down my room number. She felt so terrible I could not be mad at this girl! The food was rushed right to me at 50% off and Erica called back not once, but twice to apologize for her error. Mistakes happen and I am glad I called when I did to check on my order! Thank you Erica for your excellent customer service. Oh, and the food and wine was delicious too. read more

Try the pineapple infused vodka. So good you can take it straight. I was only in town for the weekend but I enjoyed this place enough to visit twice during my stay. I sat at the bar and got great service. I don't find it overpriced as some say but I had just come from Los Angeles and "cost" is relative. read more

We've driven by here often and always said we should try it, but never did until last night. I'm not sure how much has changed since the reopening under Newport Restaurant Group, but it has a nice industrial look inside. The bar is pretty large and there are a lot of two-tops so I imagine it's a popular spot for business travelers who fly into TF Green. The draft list was good, but not great. I think they could bring in more business with a better draft list since they're right next to one of the best breweries in the state. As far as food: I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was great- especially the ciabatta roll it was on. The French fries were delicious, too. For dessert, I had the bread pudding. It was more like monkey bread than any bread pudding I've ever had, but it was so good! Service was great even though it was pretty busy. We'll definitely return. read more

We had steaming bowls of clam chowder that were yummy. Chicken pot pies in a cast iron skillet, they were out of this world. Service was amazing an fast. Loved the atmosphere, very up beat. Will be back soon. read more

Iron Works Tavern is very nice and it's high end. Just know that you will pay more like you are in a fine hotel than the local pub. The prices can feel a tad punitive. Four shots of Fireball was $34.00. I'm serious. Buy two bottles to enjoy with a dozen or so friends at home, or go to Iron Works and have four shots. You choose. We weren't there for dinner hour, just drinks and snacks later, so we got the three pizza's. The quality was good, I found two of the three bland, the Martguerita and another with mushroom, but that was my taste, another had some tasty meat and some spicy pepper and some real flavor. A friend had a chicken parm like dish he seemed to enjoy well enough although it seemed rather ordinary for the price.I perceived satisfaction not raving. Service was...okay but the host (owner?) seemed almost unfriendly. We arrived rather late, needing a sanctuary from a crowd fest beer joint on St Patrick's day, end of dinner for sure, and initially we may have brought an unwelcome note of beer-hall into a finer establishment, but just a note. We were polite and friendly and cooperative. If we were in the way it was becasue the bar area, on this St Patrick's day, was crowded and competes with the service area fiercely yet there seemed to be a note of disappointment that were were not going to each drop a hundred dollars. I understand. But we tipped fairly. I have to say that the $34.00 for four shots of Fireball (without warning either) probably put me in a defensive mode as far as ordering any more drinks myself. Okay.. maybe I'm not a big spender. The three pizzas cost about $45.00 and were a smart choice for a snack with drinks with friends. But here's why we went. Iron works is nice. Sometimes you need nice. The decor and atmosphere are at the high end of what you can find in Warwick RI. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I think that everyone found the host's poorly veiled and unrelenting annoyance or impatience was too memorable. Most of my party arrived minutes before I did, and they had put in a name for a table. But they seemed uncertain as to their situation. It was a fairly noisy crowd and a guitarist was playing. In the difficult to hear and communicate situations, the staff at Iron Horse failed to offer welcoming smiles. I'm sure St Patrick's day can be a trial, but around 9:00 P.M.or so you should be still able to smile a little. Unless you think you ought not to have to I suppose? read more

Prime Rib sandwich was great. We asked for extra well done fries and they were. The waiter was extremely attentive but not pushy. They had a special on Moscow Mules but ran out of Ginger beer :( Nice ambiance and I would definitely recommend this place and come back again. read more

Stopped in for a light bite after a long day of work. Wasn't really hungry for a big meal, so I ordered a garden salad with grilled chicken and a diet coke. I thought it was a bit over priced for the portion that was given. The chicken portion was barely 4 oz and the salad was a normal size garden salad. In total with tax and tip, it came to $19.75. I guess I was paying for the convenience of not having to get into my car and drive somewhere. The restaurant is attached to the Hilton Garden Inn. read more

Overpriced food.....but great atmosphere! The first time my husband and I went we loved our burgers and fries. Been back several times, and it's way overpriced for its quality. Worth going when Mike Coletta is playing music. Eat before you go though and save your money for the beers. read more

Two stars because the food was good. But seriously? Train your wait staff better. We couldn't get drinks to save our lives but the waiter had no problem talking to the other table forever. Also no bread. Why not? read more

Overall the place just felt a little off. The bar staff wasn't rude, but they weren't particularly friendly either. Especially for a place near hotels and an airport that should be accustomed to making out of towners feel welcome. The food was good and I thought the prices were reasonable. It was not very busy the night I was there, but it seemed louder in there than it should have been, given the number of people there. I guess the acoustics are just bad. read more

I was with a party of 20 tonight and the servers were great but the man hostess was rude, awful and talked about us while we were standing there. Evidently there is a two hour limit and we went over but the servers took a long time bringing desert, coffee and our bill. I will never return nor will the others in my party thanks to the man hostess . read more

I would NOT recommend this restaurant. There was NO flavor in there food, it was like eating at the nursing home. Prices are expensive for what they give, it was NOT worth it. read more

Food was odd, but the taste was OK. Service was awful, awful, awful. It was slow, drinks were continually empty, and the server was cocky about it. read more

Worst experience ever. Newport Restaurant Group hates weddings, and brides. Our wedding party had an open bar, and then planned to drink at downstairs bar afterwards. 100 people came downstairs to find that the bar wouldn't serve them because of a new Company (NRG) policy. Despite a contract stating the contrary (access to bar for wedding event), the bar manager wouldn't budge. Worst management ever read more

PRO's - food was delicious! Everyone in our party of 14 were happy with thier meals except for one who found a small bone in her skinless, boneless chicken breast. - service from our waiter Chuck was great - he was curteous and handled the separate checks and having a group table graciously - atmosphere was nice - if i were rating only the food it would get 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!! CONS - manager Bill was less than cooperative and seemed to frown upon having a group reservation even though the place was only 25 % full upon our arrival for a reservation made 3 weeks prior. Seriously in this economy your dinner guests are YOUR meal ticket and YOUR job! A busy night is a good thing!!!!!!!!!! - we were told ahead that seating would be limited to 2 hours and we were definately pushed to be out in 2 .... too bad because we all would have ordered more after dinner drinks had we felt welcomed to stay. read more

Went here to meet up with some family members and friends and really enjoyed myself. We ended up getting some appetizers and pizza. The pizza was very good and the asian calamari had some great flavor. My boyfriend really enjoyed their beer, especially the Dogfish Head. The atmosphere was great - there was a singer there for over 3 hrs, without taking a break. She had a great voice! I would definitely come back here again with friends. read more

I go here on a frequent basis for an organization I am a part of. While leading these board meetings and events, I'll often utilize Iron Works for food items or drinks during or after our events. They are always accommodating, friendly, and eager to please. They have a great business model and are very customer-centered. I will keep using this establishment for all of our organization's needs. I even came here for a birthday one year after an event, and it was a good time! Never disappoints! read more

Drinks only review. I really liked this place and was pleasantly surprised considering it is attached to the hotel we were staying at. The vibe was loud and busy on a Friday night and there was live music playing 90s jams! read more

This is a fantastic room with a great vibe and warm knowledgeable staff. The place is lively without being too loud and the menu is interesting and diverse. I liked the food but took off one star for a lukewarm entree and the lackluster sweet potato side that I couldn't finish because it just wasn't good. But by and large a solid place with reliable fare and moderately priced. read more

Avoid the traffic & chain restaurants on Bald Hill Rd. and venture to this little gem 10 minutes away. The ambience is warm, earthy and sophisticated perfect for a date, but also not romantic enough where it would be awkward having dinner with a family member or friend. Much of the seating encourages conversation, with little to no view of the TVs near the bar and intimate lighting. The food is delicious! For our appetizer we ordered calamari. It was the best I have had inland. I ordered a flat bread pizza since I had a late lunch. The flat breads are not presented as entrées, but make a filling light dinner. The pizza was simply amazing. I was not hungry, especially after eating some of the calamari, but I could not stop enjoying the tangy deliciousness of the BBQ chicken pizza. My dining partner ordered the chicken parmesan. Disclaimer: I am not a big fab of Italian food, but this chicken parm was great! I know there are plenty of authentic Italian restaurants in the area that may have better Italian-American dishes, but Iron Works does an impressive job with this dish. We even ordered dessert because we were eager to see if their desserts were as good as the rest of their menu. We were not disappointed. Oh, and their beer menu is pretty good. All in all the food was fantastic, the service was stellar, and the prices were great for the meal we enjoyed! read more

Service was good, clean place. Negatives....no need for the rock music blaring on Thanksgiving Day. The turkey dinner was overpriced at $22. and was ok, except for the stuffing, which was like something out of can...no flavor and texture like paper. I've had better. No butter and rolls, no peas, no squash (a tradition), just a few carrots and green beans. I thought it should be better for the money. read more

I actually stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn- and yes, it's easy to walk to a place connected to the hotel. I read reviews here, so I followed YELP- a little. Great atmosphere, first night went on Sunday, kind of quiet, mostly people from the hotel at the bar, but restaurant was 50% full otherwise. Got the blue cheese salad which was fantastic!!! Always great to have a non fattening start ( I know, blue cheese but more good than bad)... fresh fruit, mixed greens, roasted pecans, best salad in a while. Got the bay scallops as an entree- very good, and off the beaten path of what I get in RI. Couple nights later, I got the RI calamari and they were great. Good recommendation by YELPERS. Being a beer drinker, and traveling alone, the bar was comfortable, great service, frosty mug, cold beer on tap, good selection, 2 TV's in the bar to watch the game ( or Olympics in this case). First beer when traveling is the best, especially when it comes fast, and cold! When staying several nights, run to Legal Seafood for the Lobster bisque, come here for the calamari and scallops and def the Salad! Convenient for travelers, good for locals. I'll stay at the Hilton again and will hit Iron Works for sure. Very happy. read more

I enjoyed just about everything about my experience here. The only negative is it was a lot more pricey than I expected it to be. I hear "tavern" and I think pub fare, not $20+ entrees, but upon walking into the restaurant and seeing the very nice decor and menu selections, it quickly became obvious that this was more upscale "tavern". We started with a caprese, which was pretty standard. I indulged in a few glasses of the red sangria drink special, which was very good! For our entrees, I ordered the shrimp and Mediterranean vegetable ravioli. Boyfriend ordered the pork special (12-hour slow cooked pork, falling off the bone, melt in your mouth good!). Unfortunately I received my entree and was baffled to see no shrimp. Is it inside the ravioli? Nope, don't taste any shrimp! Turns out the bartender misheard me and I got vegetarian ravioli by mistake. He apologized and quickly put in my replacement order, so I had to wait a little longer. It wasn't a big deal... but my boyfriend is a much faster eater than me to begin with, so he was long since done by the time I got my corrected order (he offered to wait, but I didn't want his food to be cold!). The shrimp and veggie ravioli was much better than the vegetarian ravioli, so I'm glad I spoke up. And BONUS: the bartender gave me a complimentary sangria for the inconvenience, and I got myself a happy little sangria buzz (good thing the boyfriend drove!). Overall, a pleasant experience, but I'm not entirely sure it was worth the price. read more

Not sure what's happening here but I've been a fairly frequent lunch guest for some time. The last couple of visits have been very disappointing. Today my caesar salad was wet ... water wet, not dressing wet, which rendered the salad kind of tasteless. The steak, although well prepared, was tiny as compared to prior orders. The place isn't inexpensive and I've come to expect more and better. read more
