I ordered room service the first night & French dip was just ok and wish I would have gone to pick it up to save the huge extra charges. I/we had dinner there last evening. We were part of a party of 6. We got there early (5:30 p.m.) because we were going to a show afterwards. Our experience started with our inept waitress bringing drinks and water to our table and then preceding to spill a full glass of water onto the table, and all over my friends lap. In my opinion the experience went down hill after that. By 6:00 p.m, what had started out as a nice quiet atmosphere, turned into a very loud busy bar crowd. If that's what you're looking for this is your place. As for the food, I thought it was okay, but overpriced for what you got. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, as there are too many other less expensive better choices out there. Oh by the way, I ordered an appetizer well before the 6:00 p.m. cut off for it to be half price and my waitress came back an informed me that it was 6:01 p.m. when she tried to put it in, and therefore it was now full price. Came here for lunch and it was excellent, ordered the pasta with vegetables and scampi sauce everything was done right it had lots of flavor. The parmesan truffle fries were some of the best I have ever had in my life. Service was excellent as well, can't wait to go back again. read more

I think between everyone at our table, we had one of each of the appetizers and I thought they were all pretty good. I had a steak for dinner and it was perfect. and a wedge salad YUM. we did more drinking than eating it seemed and had a really great time. the down side. Foods are excellent, but communication and customer service bad. Made us wait about half hour when the food was already done. We called in to order 20 minutes before we get there for the curbside pickup. When we were there, we called the girl again to let her that we're at the curbside pickup. She said she would check the order and let us know if it's ready. Waited and waited for almost half hour, we called again, he checked then he brought the food out and said waiting for us to come in to pay. So disappointed, if we need to come in to pay, please tell us, don't let us wait like that. So to me it's a poor communication! We ate there before and we loved it. Very busy upon arrive ( I like that, makes me think it is a great spot) well it was a great spot, service was professional & attentive, food was delicious. one Chicken mac & Cheese, One Prime Rib Sandwich with Truffle fries ( a Must get!) and Steak Frites, everyone cleaned their plates, the sandwich was one of the best I have had. The Mac & Cheese was creamy, and very tasty, plus it was the portion of Mac & Cheese you say you will never finish, but have to because it is that good. Cassie was our waitress last night, did a fantastic job serving. My wife and I had the lobster roll and a bacon cheeseburger. Both outstanding, we both travel and have been in the restaurant and hotel business for a number of years. I had just got off a plane and my wife has been up here working for a week. Cassie had suggested the bacon infused meatloaf. A gentleman that from Seattle sat at a table next to us and ordered the meatloaf. Very convenient location next to the Hilton. While in town for an event chose to make reservations here. Restaurant was comfortable, clean and friendly. Waitstaff very efficient. In regards to food - the burger was excellent. My date had the meatloaf and was slightly under impressed but would rate it a 3.5 out of 5. Quality and freshness of food seemed slightly above average and is priced moderately. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area as a sure bet for a decent bite and good drinks. I was also impressed that they were able to handle the large amount of people in attendance for our weekend event - I'm sure they felt the pressure but we felt it didn't show. read more

Went here for a post Christmas meal on a Thursday night. The live music was great as was the service. As for our meal; lovely! The meatloaf was delish and my steak was done very nicely. I will be back. I am new to town and plan to make this spot a place to bring visitors to, well done! I also want to mention how pleasant the waiter was. This was a pleasant change from the type of interaction I came to expect from dining in the Bay area...where the wait staff was always doing the diners a great 'service' by being at their table at any given time. I ordered the pork cutlet with a salad replacing the spinach which they handled with no hesitation. Service was very fast! Fantastic meal with a wonderful staff. Chuck was our server and he did a wonderful job keeping us informed of menu/drink choices as well as getting the food out hot. I ordered the local Brown Ale and Meatloaf. Beer was good a cold and tasted great. Meatloaf was a large portion for the price and came with mashed potatoes beans and carrots all lightly covered in gravy. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes were flavorful without being coated in salt. 4/5 stars were used because the carrots and beans could have been cooked a bit more. They came out medium hot and still pretty crunchy. Clearly not a fault of the wait staff but of the kitchen not insuring the veggies were totally cooked. Came here with the parents for a quick birthday dinner because we were already in the area and left feeling full and happy with our choice. We were seated right away and seated by the pleasant staff. The server came right over and took our drink order and immediately put in our appetizer. We decided to try out the fried Brussel sprouts, which to many may not seem appetizing, but they were actually very good. Once the appetizer was finished we placed our order for food. My mom ordered the chicken mac n' cheese, my dad ordered the chicken parm, and I ordered, like always, the margarita pizza. We were all very pleased with the portion size, taste of the food, and the excellent service. The ambiance of the place was very cool with the rustic 'Iron Works' feel. This was my second visit and something I had looked forward to for months since my first visit had been very enjoyable. My husband ordered fish and chips and the server asked if he wanted fries or a salad. Hmm - isn't is fish and CHIPS? - would someone really order a salad instead of fries? I ordered the grilled pizza special - arugula, tomatoes, 4 cheese, chicken, balsamic, etc. - and I asked for a side salad. The server walked away and then I realized I hadn't been asked what type of salad dressing I wanted. The salad arrived and it was a HUGE mixed green salad with some sort of a creamy Italian dressing. It tasted fine to me so we went ahead and shared it. My only issue was that it wasn't a "side salad" so it cost about $7. Our meals arrived and my husband's fish and chips looked very good. It was a large piece of fish - which he discovered to be mostly batter - some fries getting soggy under the fish and some mildly seasoned - think bland - coleslaw. He wasn't impressed. My pizza was horribly burnt. Unfortunately the server did a 'drop and run' so I had to wait for ten minutes before she returned to send it back. So after another few minutes the server returned again to say that the kitchen was firing up another pizza for me - and yes, 'firing' turned out to be the case - when the second pizza arrived instead of being 100% burnt, it was perhaps 90% burnt. The kicker for me was that the host slid the pizza onto the table in front of me, stared me down and said "a perfectly prepared pizza". I knew it was a lost cause to send it back again so I tried to eat some of the middle part of the pizza but it was really a disgusting pizza. The chicken tasted 'off' , the crust was not edible and the cheeses made the pizza a greasy mess. Yuck. Another issue we had was that my husband asked for tartar sauce part way through his meal and the server brought him a small container that had a yellow crust on top. We sent it back with the host who eventually brought out more tartar sauce but my husband had finished his fish by then. So, with tip, the lunch was a $41 mistake. We won't be going back. read more

My parents, my husband, my daughter and I visited Iron Works Tavern for their advertised Mother's Day Brunch. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. We had reservations at 12 o'clock. We were greeted, given a quick description of the buffet setup and our waiter took our drink orders. It all went downhill from there. The food was cold and completely void of flavor. My husband took a few pieces of shellfish from the "raw bar" and there was no liquid in the shells - the fish was completely dried out. Besides the food being generally lousy, there was only one tray of each dish and the buffet was set up on what must be a bar, there was a lot of congestion in the buffet area and it was difficult to pass around. My mother had a mimosa and concluded that not only was it mixed poorly (and was therefore mostly orange juice) it wasn't even tasty orange juice. In all, for the $30 per person we paid, we all left hungry and ended up having a much better meal at a pizza place in Cranston. I don't know if the restaurant is any good for regular meal service (meaning, not a special brunch) but I won't be returning to find out. read more

The manager brought us our food and came over to us afterwards to say hello and make sure we were satisfied with our meals. Food was delicious! I got the vegetarian special- farro salad with beets, peppers and onions. My sister got the French dip. The portions were pretty good.
