My husband, sister , and I came here for our first time last night and had a great experience here. We got to meet the owner of the shop, Kaegan Moran . He was very accommodating to my husband and I not being able to go up and down stairs. He set up in one of the rooms downstairs so that we wouldn't have to worry about goin up and down them. Kaegan Moran's line work is very straightforward, he doesn't try to just rush you out cause he wants to make sure that what he is tattooing looks like it's supposed to. He is open to different color concepts and we like that he actually gives his opinion about what our ideas and adds on to it. A LOT of tattoo artists I've seen will just say yes to anything to try to get the person out the door faster to just "Make that Money". Kaegan likes to make sure that his art work makes sense and actually looks right placement , color, and line work wise. We will definitely be coming back for more work to get done, thank you all for taking in some walk ins. The shop is REALLY cool, it use to be a lawyers office , so it has a LOT of character to it. It makes the experience of getting a tattoo more relaxed to myself. Cause you get the feeling of being at home but not getting a "Home Tattoo". Warning! Don't give them a deposit! Interesting I don't see any reviews here for Jarod. and he said he has been here for FOUR years?! First let's talk about his lack of clarity, depth and wonky lines on his work. He was quick and it shows. He shares a room with another artist. We didn't see some of the bad detail until we looked after it healed. It appeared good then realized it wasn't. I then text to cancel my upcoming appt. Mind you with a weeks notice! No, he did not draw up anything yet. He NEVER stated deposit was nonrefundable at any time. I have all the texts. When I told him matter of factly that no where did he state that and that I want my deposit back he dismissed me by saying, "Yeah, it's not refundable.thats the whole purpose of a deposit. So people don't flake and waste my time."and a few other things that were just wrong. WTH?? I persisted as now it is the principle and I felt some of his words were so damn dismissive and yes, dare I say gaslighting. Oh and the arrogance is abundant with this man. Jarod Primm. On 4/17/21, a few of my friends wanted to get a tattoo in memory of my friend that had just passed on the 16th. To make a long story short, I overheard some of the artist (specifically Taylor) saying they didn't want to tattoo those girls because we are loud (even though we were outside of the business, waiting), saying "you know how girls are when they get tattoos" to another artist, and also mentioning that we probably wouldn't be able to afford it. I was just devastated!! I went back to confront them because I was in so much pain, and they acted like they didn't say anything. This was very disrespectful and hurtful, because they had no idea I was trying to get a tattoo for someone that meant the world to me. I was temporarily in Dallas and picked Iron Dagger by searching for reviews, they did not disappoint. The building is super cool, clean, and very comfortable. The place has individual rooms, so you gain a level of privacy and you can focus on your thing. I did a walk-in about 6pm just to discuss my tattoo with someone, and the staff was pretty responsive and hooked me up with Craig Chaney. Craig is awesome. He reviewed my proposed tattoo, some specific Kanji I had chosen. I asked for input if he had thoughts on enhancing it, and he proposed a cool idea but did not push it on me. We went with the Kanji, and he said we could build it out as discussed after the Kanji healed up if I wanted... This was cool because I could focus on what I came in for, but had time to think about if I want to go further. Craig was really professional, and also friendly and genuine. He didn't have any attitude whatsoever, which is always a concern to me. He also had really good communications, where we had to change the appointment, and he was responsive as well as communicative. Really appreciated it. When I did come in for the actual work Craig was good to go. We discussed some minor change to the tattoo, and he reworked it really quick and we got going. Craig was really communicative about what he was doing each step along the way as he did my tattoo. He also conversed a little bit, but not too much... just right to keep me awake, lol. It's been a month now, and I am really happy with my ink. I am definitely going back to Iron Dagger, and specifically Craig to build out my tat further. So looking forward to it. Found Taylor on Instagram and decided to give him a try to add on to my existing tattoo. My existing tattoo is a mountain and the artist did not do a great job making it fit on my arm so I was a bit insecure about showing it off, I went to Taylor to see if he could make it flow better. I walked into this place to get two tattoos. It took about an hour for them to draw out my tattoos and plan everything out. After waiting another hour I was told that the person who is doing my tattoos machine broke. They then offered a man named Josh to do my tattoos. Although he worked efficiently and did a good job, now that I'm looking a little closer the font of my first tattoo did not come out looking like the font that I showed them. For example, the tail on the v, I really want to know where that came from? It isn't horrible, but I will most likely have to get it touched up to look the way I wanted it to. Second tattoo was nice , but even after having the man touch up the drawing three times because he wasn't getting the details I asked for, the tattoo still ended up not looking like I wanted. It looks nice, but it's missing a lot of the details that were even on the drawing. I just don't get how someone can permanently tattoo something on you that you didn't ask for.. I have been to this tattoo shop a few times and always had a pleasant experience until I met Worm. My piercing was fine, and my friends tattoos were always fine after leaving. The times I worked with Worm on a coverup and new tattoo were less than good. My coverup, he later admitted he was drunk and he screwed it up. The second tat on my ankles did not look good when it healed. I had multiple unprofessional experiences with Worm, one included him going on social media and having a lot to say about me. Talk about unprofessional !!!! When I messaged him about it he blamed it on me, saying idk how to take care of a tattoo.... I have 6 other tattoos and all of them healed fine besides the ones he did. This place is great! Clean, comfortable, spacious and has a very welcoming vibe. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I was a walk-in, found the shop and artists on Instagram. I was lucky to get Jon! I had some ideas of what I wanted and talking to Jon about the design was so easy. He really listened to me and worked with my ideas to make sure I would get what I wanted and would end up with an amazing tattoo. And that I did, I couldn't be happier with the end result. I waited until I was fully healed up to write this review. I couldn't be any more pleased with my experience. I went in not quite sure what design I wanted and not quite sure o the placement I wanted, I just knew I wanted a black cat. I got an appointment set with Jon, who I believe is the owner. Originally I wanted to get a cover up tattoo done on my neck. I really liked the design he came up with but he convinced me that it probably wasn't the best idea to get a black cat on the side of my neck and I'm glad I listened haha. We ended up moving the stencil to my calf and they were super cool and accommodating about it. Iron Dagger is everything you want from a tattoo parlor. It's clean. The staff is all friendly. The waiting area is filled with comfy couches, but they don't need them because I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The whole place is immaculate and well organized. The artists are all talented, and pricing is great. Besides, why would you want to be cheap when it comes to something that will be on your body forever? Allen is by far my favorite, but all the artists are awesome. The one downside to Iron Dagger is that they have not found a way to make tattoos magically heal in a day. His drawing and interpretation of what I wanted exceeded my expectations. My tattoo has a way to go to be finished, but I'll be making trips to Dallas until it is finished. Came in to get a tattoo from Taylor. I made an appointment with him and he was always gracious and accommodating. I didn't get any sleezy vibes from him like you might from other artists in DFW. Taylor makes you feel very comfortable and is a genuinely nice guy. Not to mention the tattoo is clean and exactly what I was looking for. All the other guys who worked there were super kind, too- no one was dismissive or rude, which happens as a young girl getting tattooed sometimes. Everyone was funny, friendly, and helpful. Almost all of my tattoos have been done by Taylor at Iron Dagger. I've known/have been getting tattooed by him for a few years now and he's a rad guy who does even better work. I have a large traditional style moth on my left arm and a large beetle on my right arm that get soo many compliments from almost everyone I meet. My girlfriend has an awesome minimalist portrait of her grandad on her inner right arm as well that everyone compliments and subsequently asks about the artist (Taylor, of course). HORRIBLE SHOP!!!!! One of The tattoo artist had a LOADED GUN, I felt very uneasy!!! I got a small tattoo at this SHITHOLE of a shop. POC spend your money elsewhere!!!! The tattoo was mediocre at best, but I paid and gave him a tip. The tattoo artist told me that I was welcome to get a touch up in a few weeks free of charge. When I arrived (on time) at my touchup appointment, all the doors were locked and blinds closed in the middle of the day. I heard people inside, and a tattoo being done. I called multiple times and no one answered. The phone just rang and rang. I waited outside in 100 degree wheather for 20 minutes before I left. read more

I got my daith pierced at another shop a few months ago and developed a keloid on the piercing. It was really irritated and painful, so I went back to the original shop to get it removed but the piercer wasn't there. I saw that Iron Dagger was close by, so I went in to see if someone there could remove it. The guy who greeted me was really nice and took me up to see the piercer, Taylor, who was tattooing someone but said he'd be with me as soon as he was done. Once he finished tattooing, he removed the jewelry within a couple minutes and also told me how to treat the keloid to get it to go away.
