I just finished my Dragon ball Z tattoo at Black Heart Studios and I am blown away! Jeremiah was awesome with the black and grey shading and the whole staff was very polite and down to earth people. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be a returning customer

Let me just say, Jeremiah Havok has been tattooing me for over 6 years. He is one of my most absolute favorite artists and I couldn't think of a better person to do this for me.. He did some of my most precious tattoos. My children's names and birthdays. My late godfather's name and birth/death years... But this one, this one was pretty intense. My father passed away in March of this year and I wanted to have, in my dad's very own handwriting, I love you Herm.. The Herm part being a nickname.. We had a card that he had written I love you on but we didn't have the Herm part. So after looking over some of the other words he wrote on the card, Jeremiah was able to get the best letters and put them together to create my vision. I couldn't be happier to have my friend tattoo this on me. He truly captured my moment and even helped me with some closure that I was so desperately seeking. I have watched him grow and so proud to see how far he has come. He has always been an amazing artist, but he never stopped learning and never stopped growing! Come check out his shop, say hello to him and get some ink!! :)

TL;DR: Get pierced SOMEWHERE else. I was pierced with the wrong type of jewelry and had to deal with a lot of unnecessary bleeding and pain during the aftercare process. I was hoping that Black Heart Studios would become my "go-to" place for piercings, given how close it is to campus/my apartment, but in light of recent events, that is far from the truth. When I went to get my tragus piercing done earlier this month, I had high hopes. The piercer was extremely kind and engaging, which I appreciated since I'm a very much nervous person. The procedure was quick and easy - no problems there whatsoever. It wasn't until two or three days later that things started going awry. Mind you, I have 14 piercings, so I'm fairly experienced when it comes to aftercare. I'm basically the queen of sea salt soaks at this point. Anyway, I noticed that the jewelry she used for my tragus piercing was acting a bit oddly. The end would snag onto the folds of my ear, and there were also cases in which the little gem would get stuck in the piercing hole. Of course, whenever I would try to adjust it, I would start bleeding a lot, which naturally slowed the healing process down quite a bit. The first few instances were just minor nuisances to me, but this ended up ensuing for days to come. So, the following week, I went back to the shop and had the piercer check it out. She advised me to be more mindful of my sleeping position as well as to take more ibuprofen. I asked her if I could change out the jewelry to something that wouldn't move around so much, and she refused. Understandable, or so I thought. I continued to have these same problems for another week until there came a point where the little gem of the jewelry got completely stuck inside my piercing hole. Whenever I would try to yank it out from the other end, I would just bleed indefinitely. That same day, I decided to go to Jade, another piercer over at Infinity 13 Studio. What I assumed was just another mishap with my jewelry ended up being a very eye-opening revelation, in that THE PIERCER AT BLACK HEART STUDIOS USED THE WRONG TYPE OF JEWELRY FOR MT TRAGUS PIERCING. Jade informed me that I was having so many problems with my tragus piercing because it was pierced with a NOSTRL SCREW. Jewelry that is intended to be worn for a NOSE PIERCING was sitting in my FRESHLY PIERCED piercing hole. I'm well-aware that many people use septum rings and the like as jewelry for their HEALED ear piercings, but to be pierced with the wrong type of jewelry is unprofessional. Granted, I could have done more research myself, but come on, man. This is your job. You should know better. Thankfully, Jade was able to replace my nostril-screw-turned-earring with what tragus piercings are SUPPOSED to be pierced with, so I didn't have to worry about the hole closing up. What sucks, though, is that the area where my tragus piercing is is now badly irritated and kind of ugly. I take very good care of my piercings and never had to worry about infections or nasty bumps, so this was a first. It still bugs me how ugly it looks, but hopefully, it goes away with time. Writing a review this long has been a strangely cathartic experience that I hope to never do again. I'd like to think that I am a very content person and rarely ever complain, so let this be my word of warning to all of you looking to get something pierced here. DON'T GO TO BLACK HEART STUDIOS FOR PIERCINGS!

This tattoo is on my chest and is barely about a year old. It is a cover up which is not yet finished, Rainie started it and I paid her a total of $350 for it. I relocated out of state last January, and am now ready to resume working on this tattoo. I consulted an artist a few weeks ago, who has about 20 years experience tattooing and does amazing work. He looked at the work Rainie did, took a picture of it & enlarged the photo, showing me how bad it looked, which is not normal. He showed me the outline was bleeding and the color is fading, bottom line it looks awful and should not look like this, if it had been executed properly. As a result, the artist told me everything would have to be re-done, which means that it is going to cost me more money, because the whole outline and the color that is already there will have to be done again, entailing starting a brand new tattoo from scratch. I have already made several attempts to contact the business by phone, leaving a detailed message with one of their apprentice who took my number, I also emailed both owners and also sent them both text messages with the picture, all of which have been ignored, and they are refusing my request for a refund. That is definitely not the right and honest way to treat a customer, they should stand behind their work and take full responsibility when they mess up, instead of avoiding dealing with issues when they arise. Shameful.

Jeremiah took my vision and made it a masterpiece! This ink means more to me than all my others and I we have him to thank for it. Great vibe. Cool staff. Check them out!

Definitely one of (if not the best) studios I've been in. Very clean and professional. Great attitudes and atmosphere all around. Rainie and Jeremiah Havok run a top notch, professional and incredibly clean operation. That's not talking about the skill set from these two. They've got an incredibly talented team and it shows. Jeremiah has done multiple pieces on me and he's incredibly talented, professional and clean. Rainie's work is also top notched and detailed. Both are very talented and gifted artists without the overbearing ego you see at some shops. Highly recommend this place if you want serious work that will impress.

Go see Jeremiah. Hands down, he'll be my new artist for the years to come. Great conversationalist and he's so passionate about his work. My tattoo exceeds expectations!!

    What we wanted

I went in with my boyfriend hoping to get a new tattoo he'd been wanting. There were only 2 people working, a women and gentleman. He ended up getting the women unfortunately we never got her name. Long story short, she did a terrible job. The lines aren't straight, they aren't even aligned, the lines are way too thin, and I'm not sure why she's even working there. If you ever get a chance to go into this shop, I'd avoid it to begin with, but also make sure no girls do your tattoos. We also tried to reach out to the owner for a chance to fix it, in which he initially did reply and say yes. But after the tattoo healed and we reached out to schedule an appointment twice, he never replied back. I would highly recommend saving your money and time and going someplace else. And to the owner of the tattoo shop, the lack of integrity is beyond disappointing because we had really high hopes for a redemption.

SUPER sucks! I mean who can't Tattoo little straight lines?!? What I wanted versus what I got. And at the $80 minimum. At least it's small and can be covered

Took our son here for his 1st tattoo and it was a great experience- The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The shop is super clean; they are meticulous and mindful. We were referred by a friend who also had a great experience. Excellent work for a very fair price, I'd definitely recommend to others!

it's not a bad one, i have a preferred place i go to. they do walk ins, i like the tattoo it just felt as if it was rushed and way to fast. not gonna lie the entire time i was being tattooed it felt rather awkward, i regret going to someone other than my typical place.

Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience at all. The artist who worked on me seemed inexperienced, and the process didn't match what I was told. What should have taken around 30 minutes was discussed as taking several hours, which already felt off. In the end, I was charged $200 for a cover-up that I'm extremely unhappy with--especially since it's on my face. To make matters worse, the artist didn't follow through on what was promised. He said he would work on two tattoos but only did one, and even then, it wasn't what I asked for. I specifically wanted a design resembling stitches, but instead I was left with a large black feather on my head that I deeply regret. The environment also felt unprofessional. The staff came across as dismissive and made me feel judged for the tattoo ideas I wanted, which added to an already negative experience. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and unhappy with both the service and the final result. I would not recommend this shop. Are there any tattoo shops in the area willing to help fix a bad face tattoo once it heals? I'm worried it might scar, and I'm trying to figure out my options. If anyone has experience with cover-ups or thinks removal would be a better route, please let me know. I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations--this is something I'm stressing about and want to fix the right way. I'm not trying to bash the entire shop, because there seemed to be some talented artists there. However, I do want to warn others about my experience with one specific artist. The artist I worked with--whose name may be Ivan or Isaac--came across as confident, but in my opinion did not demonstrate the level of knowledge or experience I expected. For example, when I asked about certain techniques like blood shading, he didn't seem to understand what I was referring to. That raised concerns for me about his training and experience. Again, this does not reflect everyone at the shop, but based on my experience, I would personally not recommend working with that particular artist.

I have had plenty and several different tattoo experiences and yours has by far been the best. From the moment I walked in with the way your friend greeted me at the front desk, (shoot, from the moment I called the store) you two made me feel important and cared about. The fact that you have a personal sheet to fill out about personality to make each experience for each Individual unique and important is just something I haven't ever experienced before and something I won't ever forget.
