I personally get all my work done by Reid. But everyone that works here does fine work. First piece that I got done by him was the eagle and it came out great. Reid is super easy to work with. He always brings great ideas to the table and has superb solutions for tattoo ideas that haven't been finalized. You can tell he really loves his craft. Despite being extremely flooded with clients- I was immediately greeted and guided throughout signing up. With plenty of sitting room - I comfortably waited my turn which seemed to have taken no time given the special situation. Went in to get a tattoo of a biblical scripture and was greeted with arrogance and kicked out. Questions were arrogant and said "might as well get Uncle Sam flipping off a bird". Not so happy with my hand tattoo I got a couple months ago. It was some simple tribal lines with dots on my fingers. It looked fine when I left the shop but afterwards looking closely at it, the lines are not straight at all. The dots were not dots and the two triangles on my fingers are lopsided. They're are also chevron on fingers and none of them are the same shape or have blown out already. The guy seemed like I was asking to much. Which I didn't at all. He just seemed annoyed by my whole tattoo and clearly didn't want to do it. I can't recommend him, and I forgot his name. Maybe other artist there was better Fortunately, I was able to cover it up with a gorgeous new tattoo. Thanks! read more

I'd give them 0 stars if possible. I waited 4 months to review them, just in case they made it right but nope. I showed up with an appointment and the staff was all hanging outside, didn't great me, had to tell them I had an appointment after waiting 15 min. My tattoo artist, Wesley or Wes I think? Seemed like I was a burden to him, rude and kept leaving for several minutes at a time. He did a subpar job. I asked to come back for a revision and they said it would be $300. Well, they only received one star from me because I couldn't do1/2 a star. Me and my friend called about two small tattoos, we got there, a guy was on the porch and didn't greet us. When we went in the guys at the desk we're not friendly. My friend was trying to explain what she wanted and one of the guys were trying to convince her to get an eagle and became offensive about everything. He was rude.My friend told him that she wanted ideas from them and he got mad, turned red, balled the tattoo paper up and walked to the back.. we left.. this place is racist & needs to be closed! Came here after I had been recommended this shop by 2 other friends. After being quoted $300 at another shop down the street (which was way over priced considering I only paid $200 here including tip), I decided to come in and get a price quote. Walked in on a Monday night so of course it wasn't very busy. Was helped right away by Reid, super nice and friendly. He looked at the pictures of what I wanted and started working on drawing them up right away. He asked my opinion and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it before starting the session. He made me feel very comfortable and was quick but also took the time needed to make sure the lines were clean and neat. The shop was very clean, everyone was friendly, and prices were pretty fair. Jorge Perez is my man!! He's done everything on me from a small heart on my finger to a tree on my arm that took 3 hours. His line work is AMAZING! I have one tattoo from him on my bicep that is all thin lines and looks SO good! The tree he did for me - I went in with a really crappy, pixelated photo and he turned it into something that was better than I ever imagined. I trust him COMPLETELY and will always go to Jorge!! The shop itself is situated in a cute old house off the beaten bath of Greenville. It's cozy, clean, quirky, friendly, and always has great music playing. I feel completely comfortable there - not out if place or ever second-guessing myself. These guys are professionals. I will always highly recommend Death or Glory, and have so far sent 4 friends/relatives there, plus some of their friends! My best friend and I came on a Friday night to get matching tattoos after a god-awful experience @ elm street tattoo. From the get-go, everyone was SO welcoming and friendly. We brought them an idea and they efficiently, professionally, and artfully executed the idea. The entire process took less than 45-min for both of us to get tattooed. I literally have nothing more to say other than that I love my tattoo and loved my experience!!!! Please go see MATT!! He was awesome. But the other guys here seemed equally talented/awesome (judging from the artwork on the walls and the in-progress jobs while we waited to get ours). Price was SUPER FAIR. Do these guys even tattoo? I walked up and there were 3 artist sitting outside on the patio. None spoke as o walked up and even gave me a second glance. I asked them "can I see some books of y'all's art work?" They flippantly said "it's literally all along the walls and ceiling" I was specifically looking for Polynesian art work so all the colorful American tattoos on the walls didn't interest me. So I asked again, "can I see some tribal work?" The only man inside was mopping and was like "can you give me a minute to finish mopping? The art is all over walls, just look." He then directs me back to one of the men outside "yes that guy loves tribal talk to him" I go an ask him to see some of his work. Dude didn't even stand up to talk to me. He was very dismissive when I asked to show him a picture of my work. "Sure" so at this point there energy is so off I wouldn't let any of those creepy ass dudes tattoo me. Do you just not like tattooing black girls or something? The artist poked at the picture for 3 seconds and was like "yeah it just depends, there's a lot going on, I'd charge you hourly *shrugs*" so yeahhh...... if you have any respect for your body or personal time don't bother walking into this shop. read more

Worst experience I have had. Ever. Walked in asking a simple question about fixing my tattoo and was completely blown off. I was told to just keep it as is, offered no suggestions on how to fix it, then told if I was really that upset with it, to use BLEACH on my skin. In addition to the bad advice was the condescension. The artist talked down to me as if I were a dumb little girl who couldn't think for herself. He was sure to mention his years of experience when I offered my own opinion on something to hammer in that final nail on the coffin that was any chance of getting my business. My fiancé and I loved the vibe of this place. Full of color and beautiful art. So many pre-drawn choices/pieces. We were greeted upon entry and were told it'd be a 15min wait, but... unfortunately it became a 1Hr wait. For some reason, we were skipped about 5 times. Unsure what happened there. Anyway, when we finally were able to get our tattoos our tattooist (didn't catch his name), cool guy with a scorpion on his neck, sat us down together and drew a rose from scratch for my fiancé and traced a cross for me and we loved both drawings and immediately decided we'd get them. I went first and he prepared the arm rest, made sure everything was clean, cleaned and shaved the tattoo spot then got to it. The same for my fiancé. We loved the result and couldn't have asked for a better one! We will definitely revisit and refer friends here, the experience was awesome, especially with how friendly and open the atmosphere was inside. Seriously so full of life. Pricing was a lot better than I expected too. Only con was the wait that had been extended with no explanation. Regardless, it was so worth it. read more

Perhaps this was an anomaly since it is inconsistent with other reviews, I however would not recommend Death or Glory if you are planning custom work or cover work. In fact, do your homework first. I took my own art in, a concept only. I was palmed off to Thomas. I spent a good 45 minutes with him describing, based on the concept I had what I wanted. He seemed a bit confused on some of the details but another artist assured he would help with one of the details. We looked at art on the Internet to gain additional insight into what I wanted. I was happy at the end of the consultation thinking Thomas understood and left my art along with a $60 deposit and an appointment for three weeks later. The day before the appointment I received a text message, Thomas had overbooked and would I mind delaying my appointment by 2 hours. Yes, I did mind but what choice did I have? The day of my appointment Thomas sent another text message, he hadn't completed the drawing "to his liking' and wouldn't have availability until the 28th of the month. I did not receive this message, I am not tied to my cell so I arrived at my appointment where he had to admit he did not start the drawing, it wasn't his normal style! He would work on it though and I could come back on the 28th. I asked for my money back instead. He had three weeks to either do the drawing, get help or tell me he wasn't capable or interested in my tattoo. Do not go somewhere that isn't interested. Ask the artist if they are interested in the work, if they aren't walk away. Don't allow yourself to be palmed off on a junior member of the team, which Thomas clearly was. This was to be my birthday gift to myself. Terribly disappointed in both the Artist and the Shop. read more

I finished up my traditional sleeve at Death or Glory with Thomas. I met Thomas at a convention and got a little piston done, he did great work, it healed well and maintained the color. I went in to his shop to get my last big piece of my sleeve done. I knew I wanted traditional american style but had exhausted my ideas of what to get, I already had an eagle, anchor, tiger, skull, rose, birds, pin-up, shark etc... After talking for a while Thomas suggested an owl with a book and a candle, it had some cool meaning but I am more just about aesthetics so I went with it. He drew up an awesome sketch and knocked out a huge piece in about 5 hours. Price was supe reasonable. I went back to have him do my fill in stars/dots to finish the sleeve. This is a super cool shop, clean they all do great work, and I'll def be back to get more done! read more

Went to Tommy Nash at Death or Glory for my first tattoo to celebrate my 60th birthday. Naturally, I was nervous after waiting so long to do this but he took the time to design my art and then took even longer to make sure the placement was just right and that I was completely satisfied. I trusted him completely by the time we got down to business and it was over in a flash. So happy with the result and the entire experience. Although I don't have much to compare to, Death or Glory is one of the coolest tattoo shops I've been to. I got my first tattoo done here. I was pretty nervous as I had been to some shops previously and was somewhat turned off just because of the artists' attitudes alone. A lot of artists (especially young ones) I've met are typically somewhat unfriendly and almost condescending to first timers, but the ones I met in this shop weren't. Again, upon walking in, I was pretty nervous but after looking around at the decor and hearing the music I felt right at home: there were Santa Cruz skateboard decks all over the walls, weird knick knacks on shelves, lots of old school, traditional looking tattoo art, and Minor Threat playing. I am a skateboarder and Santa Cruz has always been my company of choice, so I knew I had picked the right place in a way! Adrian was the only artist available at the moment. I told him my idea and he quickly drew it up, was patient in working with me on size and other things, and had at it. As I was talking to him, I learned he had been doing it for twenty-something years, and experience is always a plus. The tattoo ended up turning out great. Adrian and Death or Glory will definitely be getting my business in the future! The shop is highly recommended! read more

Cole does an awesome job! Very talented and free-hands most, if not all, of my flowers he does on my arm. He takes him time, draws it on my arm and then makes sure I approve it before tattooing it.
