After having been here double digit number of time, and spending the most money I have spent anywhere so far (besides a car, but they'll beat that eventually lol), it's only right for me to give them a 5 stars review. My artist was J.P. I didn't pick him, nor did he pick me. I came in, told them what I have in mind, and he's supposed to be the best when it comes to Japanese style tattoos, and the best he is. Each of the artists in the shop has their own specialties. Unless you already have one that you always go to and prefer, they will choose the best fit artist for the tattoo you want, especially if it's a big one. This is not my first tattoo, but the very first time that I got work done without knowing what the finish piece would look like until it was completely finished. J.P took his time to sketch my tattoo by hand for the outline, and applied the shading as we go. Not something I'm used to and made me a bit nervous the first couple sessions, wondering what it'd look like. But once the shading started, each session got more and more exciting since I couldn't wait to see the whole piece come to life. Everyone in the shop is extremely nice and professional. Out of all the sessions, I was accompanied by my other half once, the rest I was by myself (I feel bad seeing him sit there all bored for hours lol), and a handful of time I was the only client in the shop at the last hours, not once did I feel uncomfortable. Depends on the size of your tattoo, the bigger it is, the more likely you'll get the hot towel treatment at the end of your session. It's not a must and you can ask to opt out of it, but it helps speed up the healing process by a lot. Worth it for a quick second of extreme but manageable pain. My body works like clockwork. The itchiness always starts almost exactly 3 days after every session, and the peeling would be complete after about 10 days. I don't apply any after care (tho it's recommended) except unscented lotion when the peeling gets too aggressive. They charge $150/hour with $100 deposit that will be applied toward the cost of your tattoo. Tattoo is one of the thing you don't want to be cheap, and their pricing is very reasonable especially for the quality work they do. If you're interest in seeing my full piece, just ask J.P. I'd been wanting to get a Dallas Mavericks championship tattoo (my third piece of ink) for a while now, so this place popped out to me because of their glowing reviews and vicinity to my house. Shortly after walking in to get a quote/appointment, David greeted me and was very friendly and helpful. I brought in a design of the Larry O'Brien trophy with the Mavs logo (A.K.A. "The Time is Now" shirts) and wanted to get it on my right calf. David pointed out some size adjustments that needed to be made (because of some intricate lines) and said he could even do it that day. But I set an appointment for a couple days later. When I came in for my appointment, he was just as nice as the first day. We talked a bit more about the tattoo and I made sure the temporary one looked good. An hour and a half of (moderate) pain later, I had an awesome-looking piece of art. It had great detail and he even did some shading effects to make it look better than the original design! WARNING: If you get a tattoo here, you'll receive one of the aforementioned hot towels after they're done. It feels like molten lava for a couple seconds, then flows into pure bliss. It also helps the healing process. Only negative I can think of is the price, which I didn't know the exact amount until after the work was done. It was a bit high for my liking, but then again it was a pretty big tattoo and the work was very high-quality. So! Now that I've broken three of the four rules (I whined at home later), I will now commit to returning to S&S in the future to make amends. read more

Yay! I'm so glad my sister and I came here. We've been trying to get memorial tattoos together forever, but since we live in different states, it's hard to coordinate. We had an appointment this past Sunday at 2 and brought in our print-outs of the general shape we wanted. She got a dragonfly and I got a lotus flower. Jason did both of our tattoos. For the first hour, he drew up our sketches. He gave really good advice about what colors would look good and how to incorporate text. He studied the shape of dragonflies to make sure my sister's tattoo would be anatomically correct! We really appreciated his efforts to make both our tattoos exactly as we wanted them. We're both super detail-oriented, so an anatomically correct bug gets big points in my book! My lotus flower is the bomb! The color is perfection. I'm so happy with my experience here. They are VERY clean. All the tools and work areas were completely sanitized between tattoos. I felt very comfortable and safe getting a tattoo at Saints and Sinners! :) read more

Five fanfuckingtastic stars for this badass shop, tucked in an unassuming strip mall as hidden gems often are. Saints and Sinners is an excellent place packed with talented and friendly artists who will work with you to make your desired piece a reality. I initially visited the shop in 2011 and got my first tattoo (white peony on my right side) from Dru Bias, a class act and a half. Dru was super encouraging and cool with me, helping figure out placement and details of the piece, making sure I was ok through the whole sitting. When it was finished, I absolutely loved it, and it still looks fantastic after more than two years. Soooo I recently decided it was high time for my next piece (a number of flowers together on my left side) and knew I wanted to return to S&S. I trekked up to Carrollton and laid out my idea for Dru, threw down my deposit and anxiously awaited my appointment. I'm writing this hours after my second sitting for this piece, still tender and not healed up. The hot towel treatment is 100% shocking when it hits you, but 100% satisfying and worth it when you've healed up all tidy and neat in a matter of days. PLEASE NOTE that when looking for a tattoo shop and artist, it's best to have at least a vague idea of what you want and where on your body you want it. Also, as with many goods and services, cheaper is not always better. I didn't find the guys' rates at Saints and Sinners unreasonable or much costlier than many other shops tend to advertise, and the quality of their work shows in every piece. However, if you're looking to get "discount" or "cut rate" ink (try prison?), you're looking in the wrong place. Invest in something you'll likely be sporting the rest of your life; it's beyond worth it. **follow up/final note** I had my third and last session with Dru on my left side and it's fully healed now and I LOVE it. I was a walk in on a Friday evening and the wait wasn't that long (maybe about an hour, but my fiance was with me to keep me company). When I was up I was assigned to Dave. Wayyy nice guy!! He gave me EXACTLY what I wanted and it literally took a minute for him to do it which was great because I have a low threshold for pain. Very clean store! Very nice people! Went back to S&S in September 2013, again on a bit of a whim. I unexpectedly lost my dad a month before and had decided to get a tattoo for him. Which I know would've made him angry, but I'm a funny way. Also, I'm the only child of an only child, so I'm the last one left. I wanted to get a tattoo for that. I came in and talked with Sal (I think- August thru December is mostly a blur) and told him what I wanted and brought examples of fonts I was thinking of. I wanted a slightly Art Deco font, but nothing he had really matched... So he wrote it out by hand. And it looks awesome. We adjusted the size to get it just where I wanted it and made sure I was happy with the placement. During the tattooing, we talked about my dad, Harley's, and other stuff. I went in with a couple of pictures of my family crest and a lot of anxiety about how good it would turn out. Dave took the material, created a great drawing, but I was still feeling a little nervous about the end result despite Dave's attempts to reassure me that he would 'make it cool'. By the time he got to the shading, I had a permanent grin such on my face. Dave did an incredible job. As soon as I got a look at the finished product, I knew my old man was going to be jealous (he is) by how much better mine turned out than his. On top of that, Dave completed my new ink in less time and for less cash than predicted. The shop was clean, had lots of flash and examples of the artists' styles, and had a great playlist going on the stereo. My tat turned out great and Dave was awesome. I went here for 2 tattoos. One of them was done by a Canadian dude and it is the coolest wrap around Laurel Wreath. I always get compliments. The second one I got quoted $50, showed up and the some dingy white dude with a bad attitude pressured me saying it had to be bigger or he wouldn't do the tattoo. I was young so I went with it. I've never liked the tattoo and he did a bad job on it too. I wouldn't trust these guys unless you get the Canadian who might not work there. Bad business and bad attitudes.
