Yesterday, I went in to have my post shortened and was charged $35 just to switch the bar, which felt steep for a quick adjustment. I also purchased new jewelry for $120, bringing my total to $166 for that visit. Today, I called back because the post was still visibly poking out of my conch and felt uncomfortable. I asked if it could be shortened further, and was told I'd be charged again, due to a "shop fee and materials." That felt unreasonable, especially since it was clearly a follow-up to the service I had just paid for. I later spoke with Sarah, the piercer, who told me she had already given me the shortest post available (4.7mm). But then she said I'd need to come back in so she could inspect it to decide if it needed to be shortened further. That left me confused -- if 4.7mm is the shortest she has, what exactly would be the point of an inspection? At the end of the day, I left feeling disappointed and like I was being nickel-and-dimed. After spending $166, I expected a bit more care, flexibility, and follow-through. I won't be returning.

He was very accommodating to my husband and I not being able to go up and down stairs. He set up in one of the rooms downstairs so that we wouldn't have to worry about goin up and down them. Kaegan Moran's line work is very straightforward, he doesn't try to just rush you out cause he wants to make sure that what he is tattooing looks like it's supposed to. He is open to different color concepts and we like that he actually gives his opinion about what our ideas and adds on to it. A LOT of tattoo artists I've seen will just say yes to anything to try to get the person out the door faster to just "Make that Money". Kaegan likes to make sure that his art work makes sense and actually looks right placement , color, and line work wise. We will definitely be coming back for more work to get done, thank you all for taking in some walk ins. The shop is REALLY cool, it use to be a lawyers office , so it has a LOT of character to it. It makes the experience of getting a tattoo more relaxed to myself. Cause you get the feeling of being at home but not getting a "Home Tattoo". First let's talk about his lack of clarity, depth and wonky lines on his work. He was quick and it shows. He shares a room with another artist. We didn't see some of the bad detail until we looked after it healed. It appeared good then realized it wasn't. I then text to cancel my upcoming appt. Mind you with a weeks notice! No, he did not draw up anything yet. He NEVER stated deposit was nonrefundable at any time. I have all the texts. When I told him matter of factly that no where did he state that and that I want my deposit back he dismissed me by saying, "Yeah, it's not refundable.thats the whole purpose of a deposit. So people don't flake and waste my time."and a few other things that were just wrong. WTH?? I persisted as now it is the principle and I felt some of his words were so damn dismissive and yes, dare I say gaslighting. Oh and the arrogance is abundant with this man. Jarod Primm. Glad I saved the texts. Small claims court here I come?? Seriously? For $100? Although I could give two shits about the measly $100. He can not get away with acting like that towards anyone. Ok so this place was soo hard to find lol. The shop is located inside a business building, like a corporate looking building. Maps just brings you to this building but nowhere on the sign outside does it say tatoo shop. It was hard to find where the doors where and I keep driving in circles. I then went back to check the address and it gave me and address further up north 5 minutes away. It was a bad address and it took me to an industrial park, lol no tattoo shop there either. So I gave it one last go and it took me back to place number one. This time I circled the building in my car looking for a sign or something and through one of the doors a saw a pink neon glow and figure thats where it was. I parked my car and went in and found it haha! Its tucked away in a corner, look for the pink glow coming out of the window. The sign next to the door says DHOI or some kind of acronym. Once inside I was welcomed and asked what I was getting, I mentioned i was there for the piercing special. I gave them my ID and I got started on filling out my paperwork. They did go over how there was a $10 shop fee on top of what I was gonna pay for the piercings I was getting, ***********exact change or debit**************** because they dont have change. So ok whatever, I paid, I sign in and they called me shortly. The piercer called me in asked what I wanted and started prepping. I noticed she had brought her son to the shop and he was cute as a button playing with his notebook and coloring set. The decoration inside was nice and welcoming. There are two big couches in the middle of the office space and all around them are different booths where each tattoo artists works out of. Above each work station they had the name of that tattooer in a neon pink sing, very cute. They did have some soft music playing in the speakers but it was low enough where you did not feel like you were at a club. There was a TV in the corner playing rick and morty so that was cool. I was done with my piercings and I paid in cash, got back out the same way I came from and thats it. I was honestly expecting a huge line and a big wait because I seen other people tagging this shop on their tik toks and reading the comments saying they waited hours to be seen. It could also be that they went on a weekend and I was there on a tuesday soo who knows,, also new location. I have yet to get a tattoo from this place but I am hoping that will change soon as they have a few things off the flash sheet that I want. Other than finding the place I did not have any bad experience in this shop. My piercings are healing along so far. Come support a small local business that is black women owned and also voted one of the top tattoo shops in Dallas (even tho now they are in addison).

Well lucky me, I picked a pretty painful part but she was as gentle as she could possibly be. We took breaks, her for food and me for coffee, and get about 95% done in 1 full day session. She booked me for my touch up that same day and said there would be no charge for the time since she quoted what she quoted, but I'm happily going to pay her hourly rate plus top for her time. Em herself is very down to earth and chill, open to your feedback and tweaking things to get exactly what you want. Mike from the front desk is cool as hell, and the space is very well lit and exceptionally clean. Other artists popped by while we were working and loved her vision of what I wanted. Overall a 15/10 experience and I'm even finding more art that I want Em to do now.

I came in with another person and we both wanted tattoos. We sat down with the artists to go over the designs and were placed on the schedule for full day sessions at $1500 each. We assumed that was just the cost of a tattoo so paid the deposits and left. We trusted them since we haven't gotten a tattoo in over 20 years. One of us was charged a $250 deposit and the other a $400 deposit. We didn't know there was a difference until we left and discussed it. After talking with several friends that have tattoo's, we were told that price was WAY too high for what we were getting done, one tattoo on the upper arm about 4-5 inches big. We decided to get some other quotes and we were told by other reputable shops that our tattoos would take 2-3 hours to complete and the price was $300. We were shocked that Rebel Muse was charging 5 times higher than others. This isn't just a little higher, it's a HUGE difference. We decided to go back and talk to them, 10 days before our scheduled appointments to discuss pricing and the deposit difference. They did not care and said that's the price and we would have to forfeit the deposits if we cancelled. I asked if they could at least refund me the difference in deposit amounts ($400 vs $250) and I was told they would check and get back to me. I never heard back from them. This was a very bad experience and the customer service here is non-existent. I get that prices can be different at different locations/different artists but this is ridiculous. I'm not doubting their work may be good but price gouging is where I draw the line! This was a huge and costly mistake on my end. Unfortunately, this establishment won't do anything to make this experience right. Don't let this happen to you!

I walked in to Skin Art about 3-4 months ago to get my first tattoo and was greeted nicely by the front desk staff who told me Benjamin Curneal would be my artist. After telling him this would be my first tattoo and that i was recommended by a friend who had just received an amazing rib tattoo by ben, we worked out the size of the design and i was quoted 100 bucks. Everything was great and receiving the tattoo went fine, however it wasn't until the tattoo had healed a bit it became very obvious that Benjamin really rushed the tattoo as what should have been simple geometric monoblack line work had poor symmetry and sloppy lines. I know he's a good artist, i've seen his good work, but he just decided his time was worth more than mine and seemed more interested in talking smack about the apprentice front desk associate and her mopping habits. This was the first tattoo i ever got, one of maybe 3 i'll ever get in my life, and he rushed it. I even tipped him 60 on a 100 dollar tattoo... honestly if i would have known the outcome i would have gone to a different shop all together. read more

My wife and I just walked in to this place one Sunday afternoon looking for an artist to do some rose tattoos. On the counter was Trent Edwards' business card........a rose. We were practically sold at that moment. Trent provided us with a sketch for us to review and we immediately made appointments to get our first tattoos. After getting our tattoos we are true Trent fans!! He takes great care and pride in his work and we were impressed with the overall cleanliness of the facility, not to mention Trent must have changed gloves a thousand times. We have received numerous compliments on our work and everyone asking where we got them. We had the opportunity to see other artists work and they all looked pretty good. I love this place!!! I've been going to the Skin Art Gallery ever since I found body modification artist Ryan Mills there. Ryan is a master at his craft and is by far the most talented artist I have ever had the great honor of meeting. I refuse to go to anyone else for any piercing. I have had my nape, nipples, conch, orbital, and offset inverted vertical labrets pierced by him. All of them were expertly done and have healed (and are currently healing) beautifully. He is always willing to answer any questions or concerns promptly and is extremely knowledgeable, talented, and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend going to see him if you plan on getting any piercings in the future. You couldn't possibly find a better artist or a better experience! read more

been to this shop to get some stars and the people were nice, but the tattoo had a lot of spots that were not even touched, meaning i guess the artist thought he had completed a certain section, well there were parts that he didnt go over. well i went up to the shop after a few days to explain it to him and they wouldnt fix it.. so i had to take it to a different shop and explain everything over again and of course i was charged... im not sure if that person is still there but if i were to go in there, and saw him i wouldnt get work done from him again. read more

I have gotten my nose pierced three different times here over the last 3 years. Each time went very well. The first two times were with Toy and the one I got last week was from a younger guy but I didn't catch his name. Very sterile, very thorough and good bedside manner. Would highly recommend going during the week when it is less crowded, without too many others there to hear your screams, in case you don't take the pain so well. It's gonna hurt to get a piercing, but I think they do as much as they can to minimize the pain. read more

I got a tattoo here yesterday by Kayden. I sent him an email about what I wanted to do and he responded with in a day. He had great communication and we easy to schedule an appointment with. (On a bigger tattoo I do recommend making an appointment instead of walking in.) He is very talented and did a great job on my tattoo. The tattoo was reasonably priced and it was a clean shop. Memphis is the best!! I have known him for a few years and I have always talked about wanting a tattoo. I finally decided what I wanted last October and he took my idea and ran with it. I ended up getting a half sleeve on my left arm and the detail that he put into my tattoo was unreal. Everywhere I go people ask me where and how I got my tattoo and all I say is "Go See Memphis!! My friend and I went to have our tragus peirced and the lady who did it was so fantastic. I was beyond nervous and she had a way of calming me down. The whole experience was very chill and comfortable, with great conversation throughout--which honestly made the time fly by. The studio was clean and professional, and the process itself was smooth with no issues at all. I was especially impressed with how gentle and precise the work was.
