Iron Cedar brewery is located in the Comfort Inn and Suites hotel by the airport. The food was delicious!! The Korean cauliflower bites were so flavorful and still crispy even with the sauce on. The service was great and the manager was really involved, came up to tables multiple times to see how everything was, make sure our drinks were full, and to hand out napkins. Ambiance was average for a typical brewery. Food was great, but the prices were out there as well which shows in the quality of the food. Might have been my mistake but the ribeye was very rare and fatty, but that might be how the cut of the steak is usually. Iron Cedar is across from the Buffalo Airport and attached to the Comfort Inn & Suites. The ambience reminds me of a dive bar and I didn't feel it matched the modern exterior, but there is plenty of seating at tables and about 11 chairs at the bar, with big screens for sports. The ladies bathroom was very cute and deserved an honorable mention! I didn't have any drinks as I had to go to work, but I heard they were excellent and I believe the man who served us said one of their beers was award-winning! I'm sure you'll get the run-down when you arrive but if not just ask and they will break down their drinks for you. I ordered the brisket sandwich and subbed my fries with a salad, with the house vinaigrette. The salad was excellent and so was the house dressing. The pine nuts were a nice touch. The brisket had their Dr Pepper BBQ sauce which was delicious! My friend ordered the pork slider, also with that BBQ sauce, and enjoyed his as well. His fries were well-seasoned. My meal came with coleslaw, which was a hearty portion. I gave it to my friend as I'm not a big coleslaw fan. He was happy with it until the layer of sauce was gone (see my photo) and then he said it was dry and was confused why it wasn't stirred in. So I guess if you get the coleslaw, make sure you stir it first! I don't know much about coleslaw so maybe this would be obvious to others. Service was very friendly and personable. We loved the mead , a bit expensive for the size but a very nice change from the normal beers or booze ,! But the food was not as enjoyable! , it was tasty but it was cut to thick, tough and dry. The wife got the Fig and pig . She said the same thing delicious but on the dry side and sloppy to eat. Being they are fairly new and the owner was friendly ,we will try again . read more

I'll start with that they have only been open about 4 months . So unorganized, being a Monday evening i don't think they thought about the staff . Service was ok , again the girl that waited on us was doing almost everything and was frustrated. Prices were very expensive, and food was not good , not warm at all . I will rate once again when they have the complete beverage menu of their mead and beer available. Staff was friendly and spoke to us regarding their vision and mead making process . I settled on a tasty steak sandwich with au poivre sauce served on a nice fresh ciabatta roll . It came with fries, which were hot and fresh but a bit salty . My whisky and ginger ale cocktail was good but he did put in a splash of coke in it by accident . I really wanted to go there for the mead , but besides the free sample, (delicious as it was ) I wasn't able to get any, which was disappointing . This new Meadery/brewery has been open for one week! It's right across from the airport, next to a hotel. My friend wanted to check it out last night. I chose to sit at the bar. They have purse hooks for the bar patrons. The bartender, Joe, offered us two different kinds of mead to sample. The one that was a bit sweeter was the Dragon's Breath. I love mead but it wasn't what I was used to. Usually mead is overpowering. I'm glad this wasn't like that. I ordered a Founder's Breakfast Stout, some fried pierogi, and the fish fry. Nick makes the mead. The fried pierogi was good. It had a large cup of dipping sauce. I ordered a fish fry. The macaroni salad and fries were really good. I wish I would've received more macaroni salad though. Everything is homemade here. The fish was okay. I felt as if the price should be a bit lower. There wasn't much decor on the walls. There was iron metal things hung up with their logo on it. You can pay with the bartender or server, depending on where you're sitting. You can also pay via credit card with the QR code that is on your receipt. I wouldn't mind returning to try more of their menu. read more

As of late November, 2025, I believe this establishment is now closed for good. Since late September or early October. As background, it was supposed to open in Summer/Fall of 2024. It finally opened in May, 2025. There was much anticipation in the Winter of 2023 and Spring of 2024, when it was announced that the long-vacant restaurant at the front of the Comfort Inn & Suites Buffalo Airport would finally have a tenant. I went there twice - once in May and once June on Friday evenings. Both times, mead was unavailable, although it was advertised that tastings were available. The first time I went, I ordered food. There were 5 or 6 people seated at tables, while I sat at the bar. If remember correctly, they grudgingly reopened the kitchen (it was 950 pm) and they were open until 11. The menu was limited, and I ordered a $23 chicken sandwich, which was decent, but way overpriced and fries were not available. Most of the menu items were $21-$25 sandwiches. I ordered a beer that was $10 - in other establishments, the same beer was $6-$8. Around 1030 pm, two couples came in. And around 1045, a group of coworkers came in after work. All were eager and enthusiastic to try out this new place they'd heard so much about. You could tell the owner did not want to stay open, as it was almost the posted closing time, but I believe he stayed open a bit later. I left as soon as I ate and finished my beer, so I never did see what time he closed. The second time I went in, I asked for mead - there was none - ordered a beer and left. Over the next few months, the hours open constantly changed, according to the sign. My take on the place - well-intentioned, but very overpriced, not well-stocked/supplied/staffed, and very unorganized. I'm not a business owner, and I don't want to bash the owner, but in this day and age of Post-Pandemic inflation (and difficulty in finding good help and reliable suppliers), it's important to be competitive and flexible. If you're situated in prime real-estate, such as the front of a hotel, and your bar/restaurant is an oasis amongst several OTHER hotels and an airport, not to mention nearby neighborhoods, you take advantage of the situation and YOU STAY OPEN. Past 11 pm. I'm not saying 3 or 4 am, but on Friday and Saturday nights, it's not unreasonable to stay open until 1 am. And for goodness sakes, if you're worried about liability, partner with Uber - the Tim Horton's parking lot next door is practically an Uber/Lyft driver's haven - it's their staging lot. Those dudes are waiting there 24/7 for fares. You want to close the kitchen? Advertise a cut-off time - 1030, 11 pm, on Friday/Saturday. 930 on other nights. Don't sell $25 chicken sandwiches that are worth $10-$15. Drop your beer prices to $7 or $8. Have some sort of gimmick that you can make a huge markup on - partner with Genny and get a few kegs or cases of 12 Horse Ale or Oktoberfest. Pretty much ANY of their beers is affordable. Stock it. Sell it for $4 a can or glass. Alongside your $8 beers. And whatever the market price is for the mead. Get some Sabrett hot dogs and sell them for $4 or $5. They're probably the best hot dog you can buy. Sell them alongside the more expensive food. You'll be a hero. Drunk people will love you. The lunch hour crowd will increase through word-of-mouth alone. Out-of-towers will remember you fondly. People will still buy the mead and the other beers and sandwiches. But something's got to give. I hope if he reopens somewhere else, the owner is successful. He's a nice guy, and the place has potential. But I hope he can learn from his mistakes and move on. read more

The food was great!! Sat down and got a flight of cider and a honey beer. The beer was fantastic and so different, big fan of the meads as well. The staff was friendly and got to talk to the owner about how he makes his different beers and meads which was really cool. read more

Delicious entree (Pork Hammer) smoked in the kitchen with a nice IPA and Pale Ale on draft. I was so happy to dig in that I forgot to take a picture. Presentation was great. Hidden find, a little rough around the edges around the airport hotels. I walked over from my hotel. Whenever I am coming in or out of the Buffalo Airport I will stop her again. Stayed at one of the nearby hotels for business so went here for the first time, as I could walk from my hotel. The shrimp tacos were greasy and beer was flat until they ran out. Server was very attentive tho. No ambiance here and it was pretty empty during dinner time. This is the only restaurant on that side of the airport next to five hotels, so no other walkable options. Sorry I cannot recommend this for a business meal. read more

Excellent wings and weck! Tried several meades and all were delicious. The Buffalo wings were like the old days that I always remembered that can hardly ever find anymore. Absolutely awesome! The weck was made with prime rib and fresh roll and horseradish, and it was excellent. Couldn't make up my mind so I got both and very happy and ate it all. Definitely a favorite new restaurant. I wanted to try somewhere different for my birthday and I made the right choice!! It was so hard to decide on what I wanted because everything on the menu sounded fantastic. My daughter and I split the spinach gouda dip that was outstanding. For my entree I had the Truffle Burger, it was so good, in fact our whole party enjoyed everything they ordered. The owner was also our server, so he was very busy, but we were not in a hurry, so we didn't mind the wait, believe me it was worth it. I was able to try one mead, my first time having one and it was delicious. Also after the owner found out it was my birthday, he offered me a free desert and just like everything else it was great. Unfortunately, we were hopeful that this place would be a treat, however, it was far from that! The ambience left a great deal to be desired, feeling like a refurbed diner (which I think it was). The service was not good, all the proper steps were taken, but the young man serving us seemed more concerned about the challenges he was facing than about the quality of our experience. And finally, the food was far less than adequate...portions were incredibly small for the price (please do not try to impress me with a mountain of fries when they are sitting next to a three inch roll with two scant pieces of undercooked brisket)...as I was saying...price was outrageous for portion (what do business owners NOT get?). It would cost cents to put a healthy portion of meat on a sandwich and ultimately make me feel like I got one heck of a deal! Here, the opposite is the reality and it's hard to undo damage done by a very poor review!
