    One of the rare contractors that actually does things right, I wholeheartedly recommend Iris Mechanical. I was looking for a licensed HVAC company to remove a 1950s gas floor furnace. Multiple companies had looked at it over the years, but no one wanted to deal with it. When I had a modern HVAC system installed, the company I hired promised (in writing) that they'd take care of the old furnace--but later backed out, saying the job was more complicated than expected. After waiting several more years, I tried again--this time using a mix of Yelp picks and a referral from a friend. Many companies simply didn't reply. Some seemed uninterested, and I got the sense that the few who were willing would probably butcher the area around the furnace in the process. Iris Mechanical immediately stood out. Unlike other companies that either pushed a full HVAC install or blindly claimed they could handle the removal, Nikita asked for more photos and explained how the furnace was likely framed into the house during original construction. He walked me through several possible approaches for removal. It was clear this was a company that takes real care in their work, rather than just "hacking and slashing" through a job like so many contractors I've dealt with. Nikita came by the next day to assess the job in person, gave me a reasonable estimate, and then took care of it that same day with Alex. We decided to drop the furnace into the crawlspace rather than open up more of the wall to pull it out. From the start, the attention to detail was impressive. Even during the estimate visit, Nikita wore shoe covers inside. They laid down drop cloths to keep things clean, worked efficiently, and were careful to avoid any damage to the floor and wall around the furnace. After the removal, they added temporary framing, sealed the hole with plywood, and used weatherproofing tape to prep the space for the flooring and wall contractors. As another reviewer said, this was one of the best--if not the best--experiences I've had with a contractor. The owners clearly care about both the quality of their work and how it's done. A lot of contractors just want to "get it done" quickly without thinking about collateral damage, but Iris Mechanical treated the project like it was their own home. Payment was simple. I received an invoice right away, along with photos of the finished work for my records. Super convenient and professional. Even though this was a relatively small job, I plan to use them for future projects and maintenance. My friend, who was here during the work, was also impressed and is planning to hire them for his own place. I normally wouldn't consider a company with only one Yelp review (at the time I contacted them), but Nikita's thoughtful response--and the fact that they're licensed and guaranteed by Yelp--put me at ease. I'm extremely happy with the work they did, and am glad I found them.

Michael came out to my house and walked me through the pros and cons of a heat pump HVAC. For my home, the extra money made no sense. I really do not need central AC. We then talked about a new Carrier, high-efficency furnace. That was exactly what I needed. I also opted for the Ecobee Smart, wi-fi enabled thermostat. I am extremely happy with everything. The price was right. The installation was flawless. The post-intall QA walkghrough, by Johnny, went really well. ThenI worked with the folks that checked all the boxes post-intalleation. HERS test was easy with a pass.. Today, we passed the inspection, in under 5 minute. Every person I dealt with was amiable and professiona. The office staff always very nice. Michael Calvey was a joy to talk to. Thank you to Johnny, the project manager, and the folks from HOPSTER that facilitated the post-installation test and inspectioin. From start to finish I met with Michael on February 12th. The 16th the new furnace was intalled. February 17th Johnny did the QA walkthrough. February 18th HOPSTER did their pre-test and inspection walkthrough. The HERS test was done February 23rd. March 5th the city inspection was complete. I will continue to use Calvey for annual maintenance

The next day, I got another call the AC failed to work again, I replaced air filter. But the next day, tenant again said the AC doesn't work. Finally, I realized it's out of my ability. I called IRBIS to check up. IRBIS sent technician Christian Lopez to my rental house, he carefully asked the symptom from me, since I don't live there, he again asked directly from tenant to get first hand information. Then he checked up thermostat, and outdoor compressor, measured the air temp from ventilation. Finally, he told me that he believed the AC is working, even though it already has 21 years of age. Because my tenant doesn't run AC during the day, so the room temp goes too high, by the time they came back around 9pm, outside temp is low, but inside is hot, in that situation, the old AC is not able to bring the temp down. So he suggested tenant to run the AC little early during the afternoon, see what happen. The AC works so far. Christian and IRBIS are very honest and professional. I definitively recommend them if you have AC problem!

    DO NOT USE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME OR HOME…read more In the past, I've had good experiences with Fuse, but recently, they've gone downhill. I made an appointment for them to fix a dripping faucet, and the technician said I needed a new cartridge, and would order one. Two weeks later, they come back, and they ordered the wrong part. At this point, I told the technician where they could get the part (a local bathroom showroom), but they said it was not available there. The technician removed the cold water handle from my faucet during this visit, and told me it was okay to use the hot water, but when I did, water sprayed out of the faucet handle all over my bathroom. It continued to leak under my sink until I closed the main valve. I'm lucky I noticed this, or my home could have been damaged. I was told they could get the part in a few days, but they later contacted me (with no explanation or apology) saying it would be another two weeks. I explained I never would have started this repair if I had known it would span the thanksgiving holidays. They responded by offering to do a more expensive repair, replacing both faucets in my bathroom. I declined. After two weeks (four weeks total without a sink now) , the technician returned with the wrong cartridge. He said he could not fix my faucet and apologized very briefly. I asked the technician to just restore the sink to the way it had been before (dripping slightly from the faucet into the sink), and he said he had, but faucet handle actually dripped water beneath the sink. I called a different plumber, and they declined to do any work until I obtained the correct cartridge, which I did (from the store the Fuse plumber claimed would not have it), and they fixed my sink. This is what I expected Fuse to do, if they were not confident they could find the part.
