This bread is wonderful
Lois I.

This bread is the best ever...tastes wonderful. Order online..it arrives fresh and soft...zero sugar and low carbs. Perfect for diabetics and keto diets. It is a lifesaver for me as a bread loving diabetic.

Oxtails regular size... Delicious

We are here on vacation for the week and decided we wanted Jamaican food. It was 5 of us and we arrived at opening time. The two gentlemen inside were very nice and helpful. My husband ordered the oxtails and another person in our group in as well . I ordered the jerk chicken wings and my brother did as well. My sister in law ordered the curry chicken. DELICIOUS food. I was undecided on what drink I wanted and one of the guys gave me a taste of something with a hint of cinnamon and it was super yummy. We really appreciate their customer service and highly recommend this restaurant for all of your Jamaican food cravings. I don't know their names but thank you for an excellent meal experience. I pray your business will always be successful.

Oxtail mini plate with rice and peas and cabbage. So good!

They have a storefront off Bishop Street downtown, and they also have a food truck at Schofield. Finally some great Jamaican food on this island! The storefront is small, but the service was quick, and the food was good! The first time, I had it delivered to my job and ordered the mini ox tail plate. The second time, I went to the store front and got curry chicken with rice and peas, cabbage and mac & cheese. I am so sorry, it was so good it did not make the photo. LOL I also tried the mint lemonade, which was pretty good as well. PLEASE support this new, up and coming business!! Only ask I would have: Get some cocoa bread and some Sorrel and you can have my money! Lol

The oxtail stew is foodgasmic! Go now! We finally made it to this food truck lot on a Friday night. It was around 8 pm and we were surprised to see most of the vendors still open. But we made a beeline for Irie Jerk because we needed to try this oxtail stew. The owner was super nice and friendly. We talked story for a little bit. Such a sweetheart. It too a little while for our order to be ready but omg did it not disappoint. We haven't had this level of amazing Caribbean food on island. Legit oxtail stew with rice and peas. Spicy. Fatty. Tender. Packed with flavor. It was so good. There were a lot of people that started showing up while I was eating. They could all smell my food and asked what it was and where I got it. From the time I ordered until the time I left, there were queues for this delicious stew. We're so glad to finally have a food truck lot in the area. The offerings are amazing. And people started pouring in around 8:30--after walking all over Waikiki. It seemed like this was the spot to be. Highly recommend giving Irie Jerk a try. It's soooo good. Like Caribbean good and Washington D.C./Virginia good. So good. Ambiance wise, it's a good truck lot. Bring your own wipes and napkins to wipe down the tables, etc. Also, barely any street parking. We walked over.

Great food, but I went in at around 3 pm on Friday, June 14th. Never got the cashiers name but the cashier really needs to adjust her attitude. No smile or greeting upon entry, and was bitter the whole time taking my order. If you're having a bad day, sorry about it but don't let it out on paying customers. Her bad energy almost made me turn around and not want to get food from here at all. She was the only person working so I guess since her boss (who generally is always very friendly and pleasant to order from) wasn't around, she feels as if she can get away with acting like an a**hole. Wasn't even busy at all but hey if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen, the food industry isn't for everyone. Maybe go look for another job else where with such a b****y attitude.

Tried their Oxtail stew and ordered some plantains . Both were delicious and very good. Place does get busy sometimes but they do their best to make sure you get your food out in a timely manner. Good to see a new place to eat in downtown as most places are closing down too soon. Will definitely be back to try more items on their menu. Owners are very nice and have authentic Jamaican food.

Oxtail Stew Plate was on a bed of dirty rice with beans and veggies on the side. Oxtail was so tender fall of the bones and loaded with flavor & a lil bit of spice! Definitely the best oxtail stew I've tried so far! Loved that the oxtails were still whole 'til you touched them! Service was on point, called in to pick up my order and when i arrived it was ready to go. Nice folks, it's located at the executive center on bishop by 7-11. Definitely good relaxing vibes with their shop!

Our lunch from the Schofield food truck

Can only speak for the food truck on Schofield, but I don't think I've ever had such amazing customer service. They hadn't updated their menu, so when what I was looking forward to ordering was no longer available, I was really disappointed. They made up for it with a free yummy drink! My disappointment was quickly gone when I tasted the food... every bite was to die for. Spicy though, so the free drink was very appreciated! The food was awesome, but it wouldn't have been a good experience if it wasn't for the awesome people who served us the food. Keep up the good work guys!

Shredded jerk chicken over rice and peas.

The food here is great. Some items are a bit pricey for lunch (nothing outrageous, $15-$20), but the food quality more than justifies the price. The jerk pork is super spicy! I like the shredded chicken. The cabbage on the side is super tasty, too. What I love most about Irie Jerk is the service/ambiance. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate guests. It feels very much like they are welcoming you into their own kitchen. I work on the same block, and look forward to many more lunches from this charming establishment.

A night in Kaka'ako is always a fun place to explore, and just be entertained!…read more The Honolulu Night Market at Our Kaka'ako is indeed a fabulous adventure into the biggest street/block party filled to the brim with all things local...food, retail and culture. I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! I remember pre-pandemic Yelp had a booth here and hoping as things return to normalcy that we'll see it back again one day (hint hint!) Outstanding Soul Food!…read more Heaven's Soul Food Cuisine definitely lives up to its name! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful soul food that reminds you of a good home-cooked meal, this is the place! We ordered the fried fish and fried chicken, and both plates were loaded with food. The fish was fried to a beautiful golden crisp, and the chicken had that perfectly seasoned, crunchy coating you want from great Southern cooking. The sides were just as impressive! The mac and cheese, collard greens, green beans, yams, and rice brought the entire meal together. Everything looked homemade, and the portions were generous. It's not always easy to find good, traditional soul food, especially while visiting Hawaii, but Heaven's Soul Food Cuisine delivers! A great spot when you're craving Southern comfort food. Definitely a 5-star experience and a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for some good soul food in Honolulu!

Garlic Shrimp: Salty, Garlicky, and Ready to Make You Thirsty…read more The plate comes with 6 shrimp and a side salad, with options for mild or spicy and head-on or headless shrimp. Six shrimp may not sound like a shrimp party, but at least everyone gets a seat at the table. The shrimp are generously garlicky and salty, so if you're watching your sodium intake, consider this a delicious little vacation from that responsibility. The rice has a subtle buttery flavor without being overly rich, which helps balance out the bold shrimp. The salad adds a bit of freshness to the plate, presumably to remind us that vegetables still exist. Also ordered the Blue Hawaii, which looks gorgeous and deserves a little photoshoot before drinking. It's sweet, almost like a yogurt drink, and surprisingly pairs well with the salty garlic shrimp. Basically, the shrimp bring the drama, and the drink plays peacemaker. Overall, a satisfying plate if you love garlic and don't mind a salty kick. Just bring your appetite, your camera, and maybe some mints for the ride home.

We were hungry in the morning, so we arrived just after they opened. There was lots of parking. We ordered and while the Poi rolls were cooking we had a chance to chat with the owner Dennis. He described the extra effort that they put into every ingredient. Later after we finished eating, Dennis would bring bowls of freshly cut cantaloupe from a close-by market. It was perfectly ripe and one of the best that I have tasted. That is an example of the Aloha you will feel while visiting. I have been to Hawaii a dozen times and was never a fan of Poi because I never tasted a dish that was prepared properly. We went to a picnic the previous day that had a donut like pasty made with Poi and fresh Poi made at a local restaurant. They were both delicious and this totally changed my opinion. Based on that positive experience I wanted to try the signature Poi dog. We opted for the spicy version. It was so tasty with the matching condiments.
