IQ cleans our 3-bedroom row-house in DC every two weeks. We have been using them for several years now and they are very good. They work with you to find an optimal schedule, return calls quickly, and their rates are very reasonable. I must tell you that about 3 years ago, I was in the hospital for major surgery and we forgot to inform IQ that we weren't home. They called my wife upon finding out we were unprepared and my wife explained that we had forgotten because of the stress of the surgery and prep. So, I don't know if I need to review the company separately from the cleaners they sent, but IQ was contracted by our landlord to clean a property we moved into. I don't know if it was quoted by hour, by room, or by square footage, but the property was FILTHY! We called and complained and they came back out, except the people they sent spoke no English and literally couldn't see the problem--I was pulling 1/4 inch of dust off of bookshelves, baseboards, and the chandelier in the dining room. There were cobwebs in EVERY window and--though they were paid EXTRA to clean the windows--the corner of EVERY window was dirty (so as not to disturb the cobwebs?!?) I was disgusted. They deliberately obfuscated when/if they would be returning and told me something other than they told dispatch, which was communicated to my landlord. Now I'm stuck getting my own cleaners after I was already out over $300 from paying movers that couldn't move anything in waiting on them. I would not use this company myself, but I'm fairly certain my landlord contracts with them. If you do use them, make sure it's your off day and you can watch them! I told them and showed them what needed to be done and they did less than 1/3 of it, told me it was done, and were gone by the time I went to check. Poor work. read more

We just used IQ for a move-out cleaning again (yes, we moved twice in like eleven months) and they did a phenomenal job, again. I'll just say this: our apartment this time was way filthier than the last. It was a bit horrifying. But we went back tonight to check on their job, and it looks like no one ever lived there. You can do better for less money as I came to find out when hiring a new team. -------------- I've been a client of IQ for years now and have generally always had a positive experience. Recently, both the quality of the work and the service have gone way down. We had a cleaning team come prior to our family vacation. When we returned, there was visible dirt on countertops and appliances, floors were not cleaned, and there was hair left in the sink and bath tub. Basically, it looked like no one had come to clean. IQ's policy is that they will return within 48 hours to do a "re-clean". The problem is that you have to be home to let them in for the re-clean; as we were on vacation, they agreed to do the re-clean when we returned. They decided to send the same team to do the re-clean which I questioned their judgment on, but figured I'd give them a chance. Not surprisingly, I returned home again to a an only sub-clean space. While it was much better than before, there was still hair in the sink (I should mention that it was not our hair, but the cleaner's hair) and the entire place smelled like mildew (my guess is that they used mildewed mops or rags for cleaning). I let them know immediately of their second fail and didn't receive a response for 48 hours to which they replied that they could come either today (Monday) or tomorrow (Tuesday) to fix the situation. I let them know that my husband and I both work full time which is why we generally schedule weekends and would not be available to let them in. They refused any other scenario to fix the situation- coming this weekend, offering any money back, etc. Thus, I had to terminate our 4 year relationship with them. Stay away. read more

My realtor told me about iQ cleaning and I used them for a turnover job before listing the property. Booking was easy and they came inside their time window. They missed a key spot in the shower, but otherwise did a great job. They keep prices down by making the process as automated as possible. Getting someone to answer the phone is hard. They did charge 16% more than their original estimate due to extra work they said was needed. Overall, it was a painless experience and I would consider them for this type of service again, but check behind them. read more

IQ cleaners had been our go to house cleaning company prior to the pandemic. They are easy to schedule on short notice and had done an extremely thorough move out cleaning for us. When we resumed cleaning with them in 2021 service had gone so down hill. There were different cleaners who did not pay attention to detail and didn't wear masks properly. I could overlook those things, but there is one reason I would never book them again and that's why they now have a one star review. I observed a cleaner throw my family's toothbrushes into the sink along with everything else on the counter, soap etc and start scrubbing all this countertop grime and cleaning chemicals onto our toothbrushes! So disgusting and rude! I'm so glad I observed this so I could throw away the toothbrushes before anyone used them and got sick. Needless to say I no longer recommend this business. read more

I used iQ Cleaning for more than 8 years until a very disturbing incident and even worse customer service. At my last cleaning our nanny came home and caught the cleaner walking out the door with a bag of new clothes collected from our children's dresser. I immediately contacted iQ customer support and did not receive a substantive response for an entire week, at which point they said it was a "misunderstanding" and that the cleaners thought the bag was supposed to be thrown out. This was obvious nonsense, because the clothes were brand new, in our kids' dresser, and had tags on them. I sent iQ photos and received a word salad of nonsense in response, after which I fired them. So if you use iQ everything will probably be fine...for a while. But don't expect any kind of customer service when things go wrong. No doubt management will respond to this review denying everything and calling me a disgruntled customer, but facts are facts. read more

I wish you could have seen the before pictures of my rental unit, you would have thought it was a dirty frat house the way the previous tenants left it when they moved out. IQ far exceeded my expectations. I really didn't think anyone would be able to clean it. They went above and beyond to make my place look brand new again. The way my bathroom looks now was worth the price alone. I doubt my bathroom has ever been this clean. One of the two ladies tolme they are only cleaning one room despite the fact that we were and have always been scheduled for two. She started yelling that they were late for the next appointment. I told her to call the office so that they could sort out any confusions as I would not engage her. They rushed thru the cleaning and left parts of the house undone. The first time we had a cleaning with iQ, they did a really great job in about two hours, which was $200. Our house hadn't been professionally cleaned in about six months, and it was long overdue. I was very impressed. The second time, they did almost the whole house in two hours and then called me to tell me they needed to charge me for an extra 30 minutes to an hour. I was confused because my house was cleaned in two hours the first time they came, and it was definitely it in worse condition then. It had been cleaned a month prior, and I clean weekly, so I didn't understand what was taking so long. They told me that they FIRED the first cleaners we had, the ones who had done a better job and in better time, because they weren't reliable. iQ's reasoning was that they were only able to finish in two hours because they did a sloppy job. Not the case, in my view, I thought my house was very clean. They also explained that $200 isn't necessarily a "deep clean" per se but just two hours, versus a standard clean, which is 1.5 hours. Weird excuse, in my opinion. We sorted it out and they came by a third time. They called me AGAIN to tell me they needed an extra HOUR AND A HALF. Every time they seem to need more time. I just cleaned my house last week -- why is it taking so long? And why are there such inconsistent times for the same house? It was never as dirty as it was the first time it was cleaned, which, again, was done in under 2 hours. Also, the spaces they had cleaned weren't close to spotless. It looked like a standard clean by myself. If their cleaners are going to be this inconsistent with their time, they should charge by square footage. And the notion that they do an "assessment" to gauge how long it will take -- they clean up to a certain point and mid-clean they call to tell you it will cost more to finish. So your house is basically half-cleaned when they ask you to pay up. This time I just said leave the house half-cleaned, I'll do the rest because I'm not paying these guys anymore. When I first used the services of IQ Cleaning, I was blown away by their attention to detail and personalized customer service.  Nicole Orozco went above and beyond to ensure I was happy, I even received a small gift; that was in September 2015. So, when my rental property needed to be cleaned for incoming tenants I didn't hesitate to call. Unfortunately, the level of service was not matched on my second booking. My rental property is a three-level town home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Nicole sent ONE person to clean the entire place by herself! I felt so bad for the crew member I wanted to assist but that defeats the purpose of hiring a company and I had to go to work. I was informed by IQ Cleaning that someone had called out and they were trying their best to find a replacement. HOURS later, this poor woman was still scrubbing, dusting and mopping away at the house desperately trying to clean the whole place by herself. No one ever came to assist her and the service received was less than great. I voiced my disappointment to IQ Cleaning who apologized profusely and ensured me they would do a better job if I booked with them again. A trusted friend convinced me to give IQ Cleaning another chance, she told me that she too used their services and had worked through some kinks to finally get the level of clean she expected. Wanting to support a fellow small, female-owned business, I booked a cleaning for my home. After informing Nicole that I was giving her company "one last chance" based on the recommendation of a friend and customer, she assured me I would be happy. As usual I received a confirmation email, phone call AND text message (a little overkill but...) My appointment was scheduled for 8:30am. At 9am I called; Nicole greeting me by name - as if she had my number programmed in her phone - I asked what time the team was going to arrive, since she assured me everything was going to be fine. After placing me on hold for a few minutes she told me that there had been a mix up in the system and NO ONE was coming to clean my home! I was furious I hung up the phone. Still livid, I text my friend, who immediately emailed Nicole. Embarrassed and disappointed she asked why and how such a thing could happen and how could she possibly recommend this company to anyone else?? Nicole apologized and stated that she wanted to make things better if I would allow. I told her that a complimentary cleaning of my home would make up for the one-woman crew at my rental property and no-show at my own home. She declined, offering me $50 worth of add-on service free, on my next booking!!?? I told her this was totally unsatisfactory. I cannot in all good conscience recommend IQ Cleaning to anyone. I am not trying to steal or cheat money out of Nicole or her business by asking for a complimentary cleaning, I thought that at this point, she would want to secure a satisfied customer. I would enthusiastically recommend her company to my neighborhood Listserve, local businesses and other friends within the area, if I felt confident in IQ's ability to function as a responsible, trustworthy company but I don't. read more

I want to note that this company is fantastic for last minute cleaning accommodations, but also really want to acknowledge my concern for the lack of attention to detail that the team once again showed. This is specifically as it pertains to the wood floors on the two upper levels. I knew I had to depart before the team completed their work and did a preliminary walk through to ensure that I could at least guide them where the work may have been incomplete or inadequate. I noted some stains on the floor and inquired whether these would be addressed with the mop as I was sure that upstairs had not been mopped. The man looked at the woman as though she was the one who should be addressing it and she said for sure it would be done and that she hadn't gotten to it yet. Upon returning home yesterday, I checked those places and saw that they had not in fact been mopped. This is concerning as not only did I specifically address it with the team, but it was in a fairly obvious location. There were also some additional items still on the floor under a chest of drawers that sit fairly high up; this corroborates the fact that the floors had not been mopped. The thing is, ultimately, people are paying to have their homes cleaned pretty well(obviously 100% clean is the goal but not entirely realistic) because they don't have time. They are not paying to have their homes cleaned somewhat and then have to go back behind the cleaning team and do things again. I have used this team about 5-6 times in the past year and it feels like there has only been one time when I was extremely pleased with the full scope of the work. They most certainly have the friendliest staff, but I would implore them to please focus on the attention to details or you will most certainly be down a customer. read more

Update: Unfortunately my relationship with these cleaners did not last. Their ultimate problem is communication and consistency, two very important qualities when you're talking about people coming into your home and you paying a high price for a service. They make an excellent first impression but if you want a long term relationship their lack of consistency and inability to communicate expectations becomes frustrating (i.e. sending random cleaners different from the ones you know without notifying you, cleaners arriving at your house up to two hours before the window of arrival without notifying you, overcharging you and refusing to give refunds, cleaners saying they cleaned or did something and you taking their word for it and later finding out that they didn't do it, you paying for an extra service like refrigerator cleaning and it not being done etc). I think for people who want a long term service they haven't perfected how to build a consistent and communicative relationship with clients yet. read more

Ordered a move out cleaning service and gave all house dimensions, number of rooms, number of bathrooms and was charged and paid the price listed for a house of those dimensions. When they got to the house they almost doubled the price because "the house is larger than we anticipated" when I had clearly indicated the size on their site. I understand having to raise the price from an estimate but for an estimate advertised to be the full fee is 50% of the actual fee is absolutely ridiculous. read more

When I got home from work tonight, my jaw seriously dropped. I've never had my expectations blown like this before - in the best way possible! As I mentioned in the notes when I booked, I would have been happy if just the bathroom was thoroughly cleaned and nothing else. Not only is the bathroom sparkling, but they did the dishes AND put them away(!), took out the trash and recycling, made my bed, dusted and vacuumed EVERYTHING, straightened up clutter that I didn't even realize was clutter, even cutely folded my hand towels, paper towels, and toilet paper! I truly am beside myself, I think I'll contact the company to put in a good word for whoever the angels were who worked here today. I decided to try this company out because of the high positive reviews I read. Here's my take on IQ Cleaning. I was given a scheduled arrival window of 8:30-10:30 am. They arrived at 8:30 on the dot, and began their work right away. I ordered two add-ons, so I initially thought they might be there for about 4-5 hours. I was shocked when not even 2.5 hours later, they were done! I was particularly concerned with the fridge and oven (my add-ons). Once I saw that those were in great shape, I did a quick once over of my home, and saw that everything appeared to be satisfactory. About 10 minutes after the crew left, I went to use my microwave and saw that it had not been cleaned at all. I called the company, and they apologized. They advised me that the crew was already on their way to the next job. My credit card had already been charged at that point. So to make it right, they said they would reimburse me $15, which I agreed to. My only issue with the service is that not enough attention to detail was paid in my opinion. The job they did was not bad, but it could have been better. There are little things I'm noticing that I didn't catch at first. Like my shower head is still a little grimy, the microwave issue (half my fault for not catching it beforehand, half theirs for not completing their job), and my headboard still had dust on it until I cleaned it myself. I don't know if they were rushing to get to the next job, or what. But if I'm paying you to do a job, I want it done right and to completion. And for goodness sake...if you have to move something when you're cleaning, put it back where you found it! So many of my things were out of place! Again, this wasn't noticed until later. Overall I'm ok with the service. They did a great job in certain areas, which kinda makes up for what they didn't do. Not sure if they'll be my first choice again. read more

In bringing any services or contractors into my home, I take forever to choose a provider/vendor. It takes a lot for me to believe that the company I hire will be top-notch, trustworthy and high quality for the price charged. And when I say it takes me forever to decide, it really does. I asked friends and did research for years before finally trying IQ Cleaning upon a friend's recommendation. And they are terrific. I tried IQ Cleaning first with a one-time cleaning. The cleaners were prompt (arrived at 8am on the dot), professional, quiet and friendly. They did such a nice job that I have now signed up for a cleaning every 2 weeks. Each time they come is just as good as the first time. They are very thorough and take time on the little details, like putting things back where I left them. I have a dog who sheds a lot, so the 2x a month cleaning is really needed. Scheduling and rescheduling is easy. My review applies to 1 move-out cleaning. I did some research online and decided on IQ due to their availability and services offered for price. We normally would have done the cleaning ourselves but I'm pregnant and my husband hurt his back not too long ago. I needed a specific time period, which was easily available a week before the appointment. I also wanted cleanout of our fridge, stove, microwave, blinds, and specifically wet wipe of baseboards (they included it in the price of a move-out cleaning). They arrived exactly on-time with 3 ladies and got straight to work starting on the top floor of our 3-level townhome. Let me add that there were areas of our house that were filthy because the previous owner neglected many areas of the house. We were renting from the new owner and opted not to personally deep clean areas like the laundry room. I forgot to tell them to avoid the laundry room, but when I went to inspect the 3rd level it was absolutely SPOTLESS. I could not believe the amount of work they did in about 45 minutes. Even the caked-on dirt around the washer/dryer disappeared, so they must have moved the appliances around to clean as well. There were difficult areas to clean in the fridge and they made the fridge spotless as well. I'm very impressed!! My only issue and it's only ONE- they used an entire roll of paper towels for some reason. It was a surprise when they asked for paper towels and the lady had already taken them off the holder by the time I answered. I don't know if this is regular business practice, but I personally expect the company to provide their own paper towels. No big deal though...it's my only gripe. No loss of a star even needed here. I wish we had discovered IQ when we first moved in to the townhome. I did buy the yelp deal which essentially was $10 off. Still well worth the amount I paid for the work they did. By the way- I did the final walkthrough with my landlord the next day and she was impressed with the cleanliness. We broke our lease to move overseas, so I wanted the home to be turnkey for the next tenants. After some touch-up paint for the walls, that's exactly what the landlord received in large part due to IQ's amazing cleaning ladies. read more

We had to make an appointment on the day of our tenant moving out. On a very short notice of two hours, Nicole was response our request for an appointment at a reasonable price. With a good twenty minute notice, two ladies, Miriam and Jacqueline, came by with all of their supplies. After an initial walk-through, they got right to work, for an hour for two person-hours total. They were very courteous and friendly throughout. We had the baseboards wet and cleaned from the basement to the second floor, window sills wet, and a bathroom cleaned. Miriam even left a new roll of toilet paper, with a flower folded on the roll! We were impressed by how quickly they cleaned from one area to another, asking us in what other areas they could clean. We asked them to mop the floor, clean the doors, and they did it so efficiently. We are very happy with iQ Cleaning and we highly recommend them. read more

It was very easy to make an appointment on their website, and a representative from their company emailed me shortly after I did that to confirm some details with me. I really appreciated that you can pay online via credit card. The two cleaners who came to my condo really did a fantastic, incredibly detailed job. Far above what I expected. They wipe and not clean!! I wasted my $199.00 for nothing! I hired IQ cleaning to do a "move in" deep cleaning to my new apartment In McLean on Saturday Jul 27. The point of move-in cleaning is to sanitize the place as the new apartment usually looked cleaned already. I came to the house to view their work (not that i had doubts, just didn't want any surprises at tomorrow's Move out inspection) and OMG.... First of all, I walked in and the place smelled GREAT!! Next thing I noticed was that EVERYTHING was spotless. I kept thinking to myself, "how did they get this so clean?!".
