She's really terrific - I can txt her to schedule visits and she is really really flexible with my weird time constraints on getting my condo cleaned. She's always on time - when she says she'll be there at 10 AM, she'll be there at 10 AM. She does a really great job cleaning, brings her own products, and most importantly -- she takes PayPal for payments (a minor miracle). I hired Lorita for two jobs: move in cleaning of a house and move out cleaning of a apartment. She and her 2 helpers did a fantastic, thorough job on the house, so I was really happy to retain them again. On the apartment, I was less than satisfied. Lorita called me on the day of to tell me that she was sending one of her helpers and that was fine. The woman was very nice but the cleaning was quite sub-par. Despite me specifically requesting that the inside of the cabinets be cleaned, some of the drawers weren't cleaned. The counters and the sink weren't cleaned off properly, she told me she couldn't reach the freezer (I ended up reaching it just fine and cleaning it myself), the inside of the microwave had food particles, the bath tile needed additional cleaning, there were sections of the floor that hadn't been swept properly. In all, I basically had to go through the entire place and swipe everything down and re-sweep certain areas and scrub the kitchen sink and clean the microwave interior. When I later emailed Lorita letting her know, she told me that cabinets were extra and were. not included in the deep cleaning. This was news to me since her helper hadn't told me that when I went through the apartment pointing out areas that needed special attention. Given that it's a woman-run business that I really wanted to support (I was thinking of retaining them for a regular monthly cleaning), I'm disappointed with how things turned out. I would give her 5 stars for the first cleaning and 2 stars for the second. read more

Just had Lorita and her partner come help clean my boyfriend's house before moving in tomorrow. He's lived here 6 years and hasn't had it cleaned well in all that time, so you can only imagine the work they had to do. It was a disaster because of the furniture being all over the place mid-move, but they somehow managed to still make it sparkle. Setting up the appointment was very simple. She reminded me the day before, and texted me the morning of when she was on her way. Even went the extra mile to fold the end of the toilet paper and straighten up (whatever was able to be straightened up because of the move). I contacted Lorita on a Monday and she was able to fit me in on that Saturday morning at 10am -- quick turnaround. She was very responsive via email, always getting back to me the same day, and her quote was very reasonable. The night before my appointment, she texted me to confirm and let me know that it would be her helper, Alicia, who'd be stopping by. Alicia texted me 45 minutes prior to the appointment time saying she was already nearby and could start at 9:45 instead if that worked for me. I was happy to get started earlier, and she actually ended up arriving at 9:38. Talk about punctual! Alicia brought all her own supplies; I was surprised how much stuff she actually hauled along with her. She was very friendly and started by asking where I'd like to direct her. I told her my priorities and then left her to it. She worked diligently from 9:45 until 11:20, starting with the bathroom and ending ultimately with mopping the floors -- she was very practical in her approach for mopping, and actually mopped herself out of the apartment! It was kind of funny, but a really smart way to do it, so she could make sure she didn't step on any part of the floor she'd just cleaned. After the floor dried, I went to take a look at my newly cleaned house, and I was delighted! First of all, she cleaned as well as I would have myself -- maybe even better! A pet peeve of mine is a lack of thoroughness and thoughtfulness in a service I've paid for, but I had no complaints of Alicia. She cleaned very thoroughly, and on top of that I was really taken by all the little touches: she cleaned out the drain catch in the tub, wiped down my cutting board and placed it neatly on the counter, she folded my bathroom towels prettily, fluffed the sofa pillows, wiped down the window sill in the bathroom, and even folded the toilet paper end into a triangle hotel-style! I am very pleased! I think she may have missed part of a wall in the shower, but I'm so overwhelmingly pleased with every other aspect of her work that I feel bad even mentioning it. Honestly, I didn't even notice it, I was so dazzled by the sparkling cleanliness all around me that my boyfriend had to point it out to me. My house smells so clean! I'm super happy! I'm definitely going to continue working with Lorita and Alicia. Thank you, Alicia, for all your hard work today! I definitely recommend this business. A great value for great service. I'm much happier with Lorita's cleaning service than any other I've tried, and I've tried several of the bigger well-rated services in the area. Lolita showed up on time, with all supplies. The apartment was in pretty good shape except the bathroom, which I think the Tenant never cleaned the 8 months he lived there. I contacted Lorita based on Yelp reviews. I completed the contact form on her website on Wednesday, and she responded within 5 hours. We squared away the requested details over a couple of emails, and confirmed that Sherl (one of her helpers) would be coming Saturday morning to perform the cleaning. I have a large two bedroom, two bathroom apartment in a high rise modern building - mostly hardwood floors, but carpeted bedrooms. I generally get a thorough cleaning every 2-3 months, as I travel a lot, and the guest bed/bath do not get used that much. So call it a moderate job, but with lots of dust buildup (not to mention mildew and stains from this hard water in DC!). Also, I like to cook, so always need the stove, etc. to get scrubbed. I had been using someone else until now. While a very nice person, her prices had been rising and the quality had been slipping (not to mention erratic arrival times - always in some sort of personal crisis!). Sherl arrived on time, and went to town on the place. Fours hours later, she was finally satisfied with her work and actually apologized to me for "taking so long" (!) - I told her that her apology was totally unnecessary and that I truly appreciated her great work, and all the time she took to do a detailed job. I will be contacting Lorita's Cleaning Service again, and would love to have Sherl back in my home to help me out next time. read more

I found Lorita shortly after moving back to the area from overseas. I live in Arlington, and had a few of the corporate groupon/living social specials pass through doing a 'fine' job. I found that having someone scheduled every other week is really a specific and special treat. Most importantly, she does a great job. Wow. I've never in my life written a yelp review of any kind but just had to speak on this cleaning service. These ladies just cleaned my place today. I'm showing it this evening to a potential buyer and needed it cleaned short notice. The experience was stellar. This place is pretty big (3100-ish sq ft 2bdrm condo) & Lorita and Sherl killed it. Totally professional, didn't cut any corners, & did it all unsupervised. My Dominican mother is really skeptical of maids she can't oversee, and insists on being on the premises if my condo's ever being cleaned from top to bottom (she's so friggn sweet), but I had to break it to her that we found a service we could trust. That's a big deal (but she still side-eyed me). Plus they did this for me short notice as hell. I texted Lorita on a Sunday night for Monday am service! Use this service guys. First, she responded promptly to my emails and was able to send me with a quote and her availability quickly. Second, her work is very thorough. My apartment was a real mess (that's why I needed to hire professional help) and Lorita was able to get everything sorted in about 3 hours. I choose Lorita's Cleaning Service because of all the great reviews. My experience however, was not so great. Lorita came by herself which is fine but she did not bring a vacuum and had to use mine which I thought was unusual. She did not move furniture nor open any doors such as my closet door nor my coat closet door to vacuum or sweep so those areas did not get cleaned at all. Long story short she had excuses as to why she did not clean the stovetop, the shower, and vacuum. When I asked her why she did not even touch the shower she said, "It didn't look like it needed to be cleaned" The shower was visibly dirty, she could have at least sprayed something on the tiles I mean ANYTHING she literally didn't touch it. She said that my floor was really dirty (I guess that's why she didn't finish vacuuming it??) which is comical bc thats what the vacuum cleaner is for and why I paid for cleaning services. When I asked her why she didn't clean the stove she made excuses as to what the dirt was and said, "I guess I should have started with the kitchen first huh". She pretty much just stood there staring at me as she made excuses for why she didn't clean it while making absolutely no attempts to clean it. Time is money so I paid her the $85 and she left. Overall she was a complete disappointment, I pretty much paid her to only dust, and wipe down my 700 spft condo and take out the trash. Never ever again. read more
