There's a few restaurants in the area where they have converted old homes into businesses. This restaurant seems to share such a similarity, but not entirely. And one thing that nobody has mentioned is that parking can be a problem. They do share a parking lot with other businesses, and you can park along Cesar Chavez at your own risk, at least there are no parking kiosks to pay at. Once inside, the space is fairly intimate with low wooden ceilings over concrete flooring. There's 10 seats at the bar to sit at which is also home to the wood fired pizza oven in the corner. They also have about a dozen tables outside under the same wooden ceiling. I knew I was coming here with a group of almost 20 friends which gave me plenty of time to read through the reviews. The vast majority of people enjoy the food here, although being a meat and potatoes guy, the items on the menu are not something I would normally order. Some of the stuff they serve here is definitely not in my comfort zone, but I can appreciate their crafted dishes. Some I liked, some I didn't. I have to admit, many of the dishes were rich and flavorful that did actually win me over. No slab of ribs, pork/lamb chops, steaks or meatballs to fullfill your protein addiction, it's more of an umami experience. I can see why this is a popular spot due to its eclectic and adventurous menu and excellent service. We enjoyed the chocolates and gelato at the end which were a nice conclusion to the dinner. Just wow! The folks at Intero are doing it RIGHT. The customer service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. I don't remember the host's name but he was so kind and made us feel super welcome; same for our server and all the waitstaff throughout the evening. We had a larger party so they sat us in a more private area which worked out perfectly. And then there was the FOOD!!! Absolutely delicious. For small plates we had the sourdough focaccia, summer melon salad, and burratta. All were perfectly balanced and I'm not kidding when I say I've thought about the focaccia nearly every day since. The drinks and entrees were lovely as well, but those starters really made quite the impression! No doubt Intero will be the first thing on our agenda next time we visit Austin. read more

went to celebrate my lil bros bday, we heard lovely things here and trust they did not disappoint us. We got super lucky got there right when it opened and tried to do a walk in and it was a success! Brooklyn our waitress was like the best, explaining everything to us, even my brother has som allergies so she took the menu and adjusted it what he can and cannot have... the food..... trust you should get the Focaccia bread with the whipped ricotta.... to die for!!! rigatoni my mum got but she wasn't super obsessed but it was yummy, me and the birthday bro got the shared wagyu ny strip and it was cooked to perfection. Intero was delicious!! One of my new favorite spots. We were seated on the patio which was lovely in the evening as it was getting dark. I'm excited to come back and try a table indoors as well. I started with a glass of cab which was great! From here, we split a variety of apps, pizza, pasta, and entrees. The sourdough focaccia was incredible with the perfect whipped ricotta and honey dip. I also highly recommend the mushroom pizza - divine. Additionally the bucatini pasta was perfectly creamy! I'd definitely order both of these again. We ended with the pork which was incredibly tender. I can't wait to come back here again for an intimate dinner. The service was awesome and the staff knowledgeable about the menu. It's going on our list for "must return to" restaurants for sure! My husband and I made a reservation for Saturday night at 7:15 pm to celebrate our anniversary. They had a laminated card placed on the table that said "Happy Anniversary" and our server offered us a complimentary toast of champagne at the start of the meal. Another server ended up offering us a second glass of champagne at the end of the meal as he was clearing off plates which was incredibly thoughtful and generous! Their house made pasta is incredible and served al dente which is my preference. The truffle taste from the sottocenere al tartufo and the burnt garlic flavors really come through which I LOVED! It's a heavier pasta dish so the portion size is more than enough to leave you feeling full. BROWN BUTTER CAKE (10/10) - I'll be having dreams about this dessert and I'm not mad about it. The cake is light, fluffy, and moist and the cinnamon gelato on top is DEVINE! It melts over the cake as you eat it and then the brown sugar and butter sauce, pecans, and brûléed meringue compliment it with a variety of textures. My best friend has been lamenting about my negative review for years now because she LOVES Intero and wanted me to change my opinion. I've been pretty skeptical because my visit was really not the best, but wow. Intero, I am so sorry for the slander LOL. It was such a wonderful experience and from start to finish, we had a great time. The hosts are SO sweet. Like, beyond sweet. I told the host that we were sort of celebrating (my best friends are moving out of Austin), and he offered to bring us out free chocolates at the end of the meal. I ordered two of the drinks that had blackberry, prosecco, and vodka in them and they were wonderful. I remember enjoying the drinks years ago, and they are still very well crafted! I will say... our waitress had this attitude that made us not like her. Everyone else in the restaurant was really kind and sweet, but she had this air about her that she seemed like she did not want to be there. I felt bad asking her for boxes and the check etc because of how standoffish she was. We made it in time for happy hour, so of course we had to take advantage of it! Foccacia bread was SO lovely. I love how soft the bread was, and I also thought that the way they presented the dish was very thoughtful. Usually, we are getting bread crumbs everywhere because we have to cut the bread ourselves but these were such easy bites. I don't normally like ricotta, but their ricotta is very light and with the honey? Ugh, I could eat 15 of those foccacia slices. Another crowd favorite was the timballo, which our waitress described as being Italian rice cakes with pork shoulder inside. I think it was more like a crispy hash brown, but it was also very delicious. Sauce was nicely acidic and the avocado and zucchini balanced out the slightly heavier potato and meat. We each got our own pasta entrees, and I have to say... the mafaldine pasta was much better than I remembered it to be. This was the only repeat dish I ordered from years ago, and I'm really glad that I can walk away from this experience being like yeah, I was wrong or maybe something was off that day. This was a great and classic pasta dish. I ordered the bucatini, and I LOVE corn. I don't think the corn flavor was in the pasta that much, but the flavor of the actual pasta and the texture of the noodles are superb. Love, love, love! My friend raved about the brown butter cake, and wow... I think I could eat like 5 of these on my own. The ice cream, cream, cake?? Not super heavy at all. We ended our meal walking out of the restaurant and I was eyeing our waitress to see if they would help us celebrate with the chocolates our host promised, but she gave us our check and we thought we were done with our meal. The same host actually stopped us and asked if we'd received the chocolates, and he actually went back into the kitchen to grab us each chocolates to go. SO FREAKING SWEET. My friends and I went outside and were leaving when one of my friends wanted to take a picture, but we didn't want to bother the dining guests so we tried setting up a photo stand. I think the host must've seen us struggling from inside because he came out and offered to take pictures of us. He even posed us and gave us different angles. I had my birthday dinner here and WOW knocked it out of the park on every front. The food is so thoughtfully curated I'm shocked it's not more expensive but grateful. I just know someone is crunching numbers to make sure such a farm-to-table experience can stay in reach for some folks. The reservation was easy to make (no months-long wait), the service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable, the music wasn't too loud, the decor was somewhat simple and nondescript -- giving a sort of 2005 farm to table restaurant vibe if that makes sense? We had the rabbit pasta, fish carpaccio, duck pasta and eggnog panna cotta. The pizza had the perfect weight distribution of a sturdy crust and lots of toppings with minimal floppage. This place might just be my favorite Italian restaurant in Austin! You have to try the Sourdough Focaccia bread! It's so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The ricotta is incredibly delicious with hints of rosemary and honey drizzled over it. So creamy and spreads like butter! The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio makes for a good starter as well. I ordered the Mafaldine Bolognese for the main. YUM. The pasta noodles (mafaldine) are so fun and thick and pairs well with the meat sauce. My bf ordered the Gnocchi which we also enjoyed. The gnocchi was very soft and came in pretty big sizes. Don't forget to try their desserts! The Brown Butter Cake is to die for! The gelato just melts on the warm cake. Do not recommend - seriously. Totally overrated. This place tasted like my grandma made the food and not in a good way. She's also not Italian. The beer selection is absolutely terrible and nothing is on tap. The food was very very bland and tasted like Chef Boyardee. I was desperate looking for salt and pepper, but candidly nothing could save this meal. My go to Italian plate is typically the bolognese and here it tasted like it came out of can blended with stew. First words out of our mouths after taking a bite: "Oh my god " Found this place through Instagram while searching for things to do in Austin and was intrigued by the "farm-to-table" kitchen. We came about 20 min before closing and were worried that service wouldn't be as kind, but we could not be more wrong. Our server was so cheerful, attentive, and genuine. I've never had a server at a nice restaurant tell me "Later gators" and I wouldn't have it any other way. Since this is a farm-to-table concept, our server told us the chefs have a seasonal menu. Typically, it is recommended to get an appetizer since the food could take a while since it is freshly made, but it wasn't too busy. We did cave and get the watermelon feta salad, which we did not regret. The chefs did an awesome combination of texture and sweet and savory with this dish, plus the added roasted peanuts for crunch. The main course was absolutely epic - I had the gnocchi with rabbit and sage and my partner had the crispy pork cotoletta with tomato and aioli. The gnocchi was another level of gnocchi that I've never tasted before, so incredibly soft but still tastes like perfect mashed potato and butter. The pork was like schnitzel with the most perfect crispiness. It was so good that I had to try a dessert and our server very excitedly told us that the chefs are actually a couple, and Chef Crystal is head chocolatier. We tried the salted caramel truffles, which were delicious, and the corn panna cotta. It was incredibly creamy, almost like sweet corn but not too strong, and combined with the blueberries and polenta crunch, I was in heaven. The best part: we were even given a coupon at the end of our meal! It was a tiny bit dark, but I loved the music and all of the employees appeared like they loved working here. The long awaited dinner at @interorestaurant was tonight! Their a seasonal kitchen that strives to maintain sustainability with the goal of zero-waste and they get as many ingredients from local Texas farmers as allows. We started with their sourdough focaccia with housemate ricotta topped with wildflower honey and garden thyme. 9/10 for me just because I've focaccia that I've liked better, but this was definitely delicious and a great way to start the meal. Next we split the bucatini with grilled corn, sottocenere al tarufo, burnt garlic and chive. This was the star of the show for sure. 9.8/10 the sauce was so creamy and had a depth to it but not overpowering. The reason it's not a perfect 10 is because some of the dish had uncooked pieces of pasta, but the majority of the pasta was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the duck confit pizza with marinated corn, raclette, and roasted garlic. This was recommended by our waitress as something unique to their restaurant. Unique is definitely a word I'd describe just because of the raclette cheese. She mentioned it had a distinctive taste and I was intrigued by this. From the first bite, I was trying to decide if it was too overpowering. I tried the duck separately and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I wouldn't order this again but glad I tried it. For dessert, I've been dreaming about their brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato and pecans. Did it live up to the hype? No but it was still delicious. We also ordered the salted caramel chocolate and it was perfect. Overall, this place is a culinary experience and I love everything they're going for, but it just didn't land for me. A friend suggested this for my wife's birthday dinner. Boy do we owe her. My wife loves pasta, but we are GF. So we jumped at the chance to have fresh gf pasta. Greeted upon arrival and sat quickly. Amazing Italian food! I got a last-minute reservation here for me, my husband and our italian priest who was visiting from California. He loved the food. He said the food reminded him of home. Huge compliments to the chef! We were confused on where to enter because when we parked on the street, we saw the patio and there were doors along my eye line. We literally walked all over the place just to find out that the entrance was right before the patio on the right side. But going through the restaurant, it had a very dark and mysterious vibe to it. I kept thinking, "was this the proper place to bring a priest?" We soon found out that it was the perfect spot because he loved the food. His favorite dish was the bucatini. He said the cream sauce was spot-on. He was also delighted by the watermelon salad because of the hint of mint he tasted. He smiled from ear to ear, saying "it has mint! I love mint!" in his Italian accent. My favorite was the focaccia. The house-made ricotta was like butter! Also, our server, Rachel, was super sweet. First off, the service was impeccable - even though we were seated outside due to not having a reservation, we were constantly checked up on. We had alerted our server of a nut allergy, and they made sure that none of our dishes had nuts on them. The highlight of the meal was the bucatini - WOW!! Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've been to in Austin. The food is SO fresh and you can tell the ingredients are from local farms. The quality of the food is so high. We got the smoked duck pizza and the smoked rabbit rigatoni which were both amazing, and ended the meal with the brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato and a few chocolate truffles. Seriously an overall 10/10 experience from start to finish. Tried two other restaurants on a busy Saturday night and we ended up here hoping we'd just get some food at this point. The hostess was super sweet and accommodating and made it possible to get us a table! Not knowing what to expect - this was likely the best Italian I've had in the greater Austin area. We ordered the deep fried ricotta, the spicy cheese pizza (which is not actually spicy don't worry, just a lot of great flavor), and the cake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and packed of wonderful flavors. I could not have asked for anything better! Waitress was kind and attentive, always ensuring to refill waters which is key for me! Stopped here while I was visiting a friend for their birthday. It was the perfect place for a special occasion. The cocktails were delicious and the staff provided excellent recommendations. It was nice that we were able to share so we were able to try a variety. The farm to table ingredients really made all the difference. Location: Up and coming East Austin for like the last 10 years, and near a part of town close to several high crime areas. Not the safest. Ambiance: Beautiful and simply elegant. Decorated in a rustic and enamored way that makes a place for special events and gatherings in an intimate settings Service: okay so I have a problem with the "overtipping" situation, and the charging for fees for splitting a bill. Food: So overall, Kudos to I redo for using farm to table food. However, the food tasted a little more like "an actual table" than anything from a farm. The only saving graces we're the homemade chocolates, and the use of mild beets, which were by far the star of the restaurant. Here is what we tried this time Focaccia: I mean it's $18 bread. Actually it's 4 slices of bread plus some Ricotta cheese. Duck and Risotto: The risotto was creamy but lacked salt and flavor. The duck was cooked incorrectly and the fat was not rendered enough to prevent the chewy factor. The Waygu Sausage: To quite a friend, tasted good once you got past the "new car scent" from the casing. I suggest modifying the recipe with better aromatics to cancel out the game smell. The Bolognese: So it tasted okay, in a hamburger helper kind of way, but not for $26. The Pizza: To be honest, the best thing on the menu. The Gnocchi with Brown Butter: So like no, these Gnocchi lacked that pillow texture and flavor from the brown butter sauce. There was no salt, and honestly not worth the price. The Waygu Carpaccio: Guys they really hold back on the meat, and dress it up with beats and crème. The Buratta: I've had better for cheaper with a warmer much better casing. This was not served at the right temperature bore was it served with a nice hit of acid to compliment it. The gelato and expresso dessert thing: It was good The chocolates: Good, very good and pretty The brown butter cake: Not the best, but definitely good! The best thing on the menu...... Oddly enough Beet Sorbet with curd- This was one of the most refreshing sweetest ways to finish a meal. Honestly the best dessert. read more

The food here is amazing! However what is really amazing and top notch is the service! My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner, we did not have a reservation and knew the risk that we may not be able to get a table on a Saturday night but figured we would at least try or see if we could sit at the bar. Chelsea and Sam greeted us so kindly, they were a packed house and we asked for recommendations of somewhere else to go because we were from out of town they told us to hold on a second and squeezed us in. Jeremy was our server and he was fantastic also. I cannot thank them enough for making our night so special! If I could give 10 stars I would. A big huge thank you to Chelsea, Sam, and Jeremy. Oh and they snuck a cute Happy Anniversary card onto the table. So so thoughtful! Will absolutely go back next time we are in Austin. read more

Great appetizers, pizzas, and desserts! I will be back to try a different entrée/pasta because I went with the duck confit ravioli this time, and it didn't taste as I expected. Should've gone with my first choice, but for whatever reason, I wanted duck. The crispy risotto and brisket appetizer was so pretty and tasted amazing! I'm not much of a carrots fan but that carrot purée was excellent! Probably because the carrot taste didn't hit me in the face. Highly recommend the affogato and brown butter cake. I'm one to order affogato wherever I see it on the menu. I haven't had a good one since Italic closed down on 6th st. The Mascarpone gelato was creamy, loved the cocoa crumbles, added great texture to the affogato. If you go early enough, there is a small parking lot instead of looking for street parking. read more

The restaurant made gnocchi pieces were soft and fluffy, paired wonderfully with a gravy and rabbit meat. That was the favorite. The raclette ham pizza was filled with flavor. The pizza dough was so fresh. Charred cabbage had a tangy mustard and crispy onion texture. Was good but would have wished for more crunch on the cabbage. Came in on a Sunday evening of a holiday/MLK weekend at 7pm. I'm glad we made a reservation, as the restaurant seemed mostly full (although it was cold so outdoor seating would have opened up more seating). We were seated right away in a cozy booth. Our service was great. 4 of us shared a bottle of wine (and then another later) and the sourdough focaccia which we really enjoyed. Then 3 of us split the burrata, bucatini and Yukon potato pizza. My favorite was the pasta but I did enjoy everything we tried. Then for dessert I also got a dirty hot chocolate which was pretty strong. Loved the atmosphere, service and food here. Year plus since my last visit. Still as awesome as always. Unique flavours, great service and simply a place that does what they do to the highest level. I love sitting at the bar as everyone there is just buzzing with energy and knowledge. With a group I would get a reservation for a table in the back. read more

This was a fantastic experience. We went here for our anniversary dinner, and we absolutely loved it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy. The entire staff was extremely friendly and kind, especially our server, Courtney. She was excellent! The food was delicious. We ordered six different items. From those, we highly recommend the Grilled Gulf RedFish, Roasted Duck Breast Risotto, Duck Confit Ricotta Gnocchi, and Brown Butter Cake dessert. We are so glad we chose this place to celebrate our special day, and we can't wait to go back. read more
