OMG....this place is incredible. Each and every dish we ordered was spectacular. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service with Imogen was spot on. Absolutely loved the home made ricotta, loved the carrots and burrata and the ribbon pasta aka mafaldine with the bolognese sauce was so good. The rigatoni with rabbit was tasty and mind you, I'm not someone who likes gamey meat but it was good. I inhaled the bucatini with the corn and yes, found room for the desserts. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu. I'm planning my next visit and I have barely digested this meal. Intero is an absolute gem of an Italian restaurant in LA. We first saw it when were checking out Esov nearby and I put it on our bookmarked list of places to try and am so glad we did. First off shout out to our server Imogen. Imogen was beyond helpful and such a kind server. We sent the oyster mushroom pizza because unfortunately it was overly salty and Imogen immediately corrected with ordering another pizza and then came back and explained that the chef and staff tried and agreed it was too salty. I so appreciated the care/staff to acknowledge and validate what we were tasting and were quick to rectify the situation. Major kudos to that. Don't let the exterior of the restaurant fool you. The inside is actually much bigger than I gave it credit for and even has a private room that could seat close to 15-20 people (I only know this because we ran into some of my old friend having her bachelorette party there) and it has moody lighting. They also have a small covered patio with fans. We started off the meal with burrata and toast which was delicious. The radicchio wasn't too bitter at all (I don't like bitter) and the burrata was nice and room temperature, not overly cold as other Italian places serve it. The hazelnut gremolata added a nice crunch and bright acid to the dish. As a vegetarian, I am so thankful they have so many great vegetarian choices! My husband the meat eater loved the wagyu beef carpaccio and was thankful the horseradish was not overpowering as he doesn't like horseradish to begin with. I say if a chef can make you like what you normally don't like they are doing a great job. We then had the bucatini with chard corn, aged cheddar, chile oil and chive and that was so good. The bucatini was perfectly aldente, the aged cheddar balanced well with the chile oil and the corn added the perfect amount of sweetness without being so overly sweet that it ruined the savoriness of the dish. I did not find the chile oil to be that spicy at all - it was just slightly spicier than black pepper. I think the aged cheddar sauce helps temper the spice. Pizza wise it's a Neapolitan style pizza - the crust was perfectly thin and fluffy and a really great crust. Unfortunately our oyster mushroom/cambert pizza was too salty and we had to send it back. The arrabiata pizza was delicious, the sauce not spicy at all and the mozzarella and oregano were divine. For dessert we got the chocolate truffles (don't worry you don't have to get the box) with earl grey truffle, chocolate bark, salted caramel and orange chocolate. The earl grey truffle was absolutely divine. The chocolates are made in house and you can tell a lot of care was put into them and the designs are beautiful. We were so lucky our desserts were comped for because of the snafu with oyster mushroom which we weren't expecting at all, but greatly appreciated it. Parking is free - they have a small lot attached which we were able to find a spot on Saturday at 7:30 PM and there is also free street parking nearby (right in front of restaurant or on side streets but be careful some is permitted). For a girls night out, we dined here and loved the ambiance, the service and the food! I have heard great things about Intero and I was eager to finally give them a try as it is particularly hard to find authentic Italian food in Austin. One of my gf's is not fond of blue cheese, but our waitress Grace, sold us on it and it was amazing! The blue cheese was not overwhelming and it blended so well with the other ingredients. Having dined here for two special occasions, I feel I may confidently share that the consistency in quality for a group dining experience you will have is a 5/5! Intero is a fantastic option for those who like a more intimate environment with less attentive/in-your-face service. That's not to say that the staff are not helpful, simply more so that they really only are attentive when requested and tend to be more reserved otherwise. To start, this is definitely a "shareable" type restaurant meaning family style is the way to go. To make the most of your visit, come with a group of 3-4. Now, let's get into the dishes! I highly recommend the foccacia served with ricotta and honey. Such a beautifully lush textural experience with cloud-soft bread. I've heard to get the burrata, but truly wasn't too enthused by it being paired with a more natural rye bread. While complex, it wasn't really what I prefer but could still appreciate it. Meal wise, you cannot go wrong with any of their pastas! The surprise showstopper for me was the redfish ravioli. The smoky fish enveloped is an al dente pasta casing was the perfect bite with the green tomatoes. The bolognese was doted as a a must have on social media. The malfadine pasta was fantastic, although, the sauce could have more elevated flavors and felt more homemade rather than restaurant style. The risotto seems to be a seasonal dish that changes meat pairings. I had originally tried it with duck breast which was delicious! The risotto is very rich, so be prepared to break it up with bites of something more acidic (seek tomato based options.). This time it was served with quail (smoked I think?) that had such brittle bones it felt tedious to eat. Wasn't really for me and was probably my least favorite dish thus far. To close out the evening, you muuuust get the brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato. Oh my goodness, this is top 5 dessert I've ever had in Texas! A hidden gem we just discovered!! We love Italian food and they had some really simple & delicious options. This might become our new go to place for its delicious oyster mushroom pizza and brown butter cake, all though I must admit all the food we tried was pretty good. Tip: the chocolates could be slightly less sweet as then it's easier to appreciate the quality of cacao and the flavors better. But this could be our personal preference as we love our chocolates, and are always game for trying out inventive options around the globe during our travels. If I could legally move into Intero Restaurant, I would. I'm not saying I've tried... but I have mentally mapped out which bar stool would be "mine." First of all, the bartenders? Absolute legends. Equal parts therapists, comedians, and low-key magicians. I come for a drink and somehow leave with improved life perspective and a perfectly balanced cocktail. The hostess crew and waitstaff are so warm and welcoming it feels like you just walked into a dinner party where everyone already likes you (rare, beautiful energy). Now the food, honestly offensive how good it is. Like, how dare you casually serve farm-to-table dishes that make me question every other meal I've ever eaten. Everything is fresh, thoughtful, and borderline romantic. I've had moments at that bar where I've paused mid-bite just to process my emotions. Pro tip: sit at the bar. It's dinner and a show. Intero has been on my list for a while, and it has been talked up to me several times by several people, so I was stoked to go there for my girlfriend's birthday. We were a party of 4. Not gonna bury the lead, the food was all great, but the service was sorely lacking and was disappointing for a place of this caliber. The server takes our drink order, and then when the drinks come (they were delivered by a different person than our server)... they are missing one. We figured she just couldn't carry them all at once and would be back with the missing cocktail. Nope. 5-10 minutes later, our server comes by, we notify her that we are missing a cocktail, she says there was a miscommunication with the bar, she goes away, and the other cocktail finally shows up about 3-5 minutes later. We put in our order for starters and mains... and we wait. And wait. We had been seated for about an hour when our starters finally showed up. She said she knew it took a long time, and that a big order was sent to the kitchen right before our order was submitted. So far, she is doing a great job... blaming somebody else. We are enjoying our starters... and then our entrees show up before we are even done with our starters. So the starters take forever to appear... but our mains show up in record time when we are still working on our starters. Cool. I order another cocktail, we start eating our entrees, and then 15+ minutes later... no cocktail. It was whiskey on the rocks so it's not a complicated or time consuming drink to make. Our server finally comes by to check on us, I let her know my drink hasn't shown up yet, she blames the bar messing up (again). This time, it shows up a few minutes later. She did comp it, so that was nice, but at this point that is the least she should/could do. Near the end of our meal, she comes by to ask how things were, and my GF's father tells the server, calmly and not raising his voice or causing a scene or anything, that he was disappointed in the service we received, the timing of the food coming out (starters way too late, and mains way too early), the forgotten drink orders, etc. she apologizes... and then she nopes out and we don't see her again the rest of the night. I am not sure who took over for her, but while he was efficient and precise... his attitude was mildly brusque and unkind. I can only assume she must have told him we were mean to her or difficult or something, so he went in prepared for the worst. To be clear, our original server was not treated with disrespect, nor did anyone at any point ever raise their voice or be nasty to her or cause a scene. But our experience with him, after our experience(s) with her... it just kind of piled on top of everything else and put a crimp on what was otherwise a lovely (if ill-timed) meal. I get it. Things happen sometimes. But she did a poor job of communicating things and staying on top of things, so multiple things got lost in the shuffle and were mishandled. Should she have comped the entire meal? No. That is not a reasonable expectation. But in the spectrum of alllll of the possible ways she could have handled/managed/mitigated the situation throughout the evening... she did the absolute minimum, and then completely disappeared the rest of the evening without saying a peep. read more

Intero is the PERFECT date night spot. I went with a friend, but the lighting, vibes, and mood is very enjoyable. Great for dates or hangouts. Everything is made from scratch in house, which is super impressive. All their menu items are unique and thoughtfully well crafted - Dish 1: Rabbit Rigatoni This pasta dish was amazing. Primary flavor is deep and smoky with the smoked rabbit. Rabbit is interesting and has a bit more of a bite than chicken. There's a hint of sweetness from the wine reduction and the horseradish cream really balances the dish by cutting through the richness. I LOVED the rigatoni itself as it was perfectly al dente. - Dish 2: Smoked Duck Confit Pizza The pizza is unique with lots of contrasting balancing flavors. The lime really shines, so the flavor is rich, salty, zesty, and a tad bit sweet from the green sauce on top. The duck adds a bit of smokiness. Again, the texture is amazing and I could really feel the in house quality. The pizza had a good chew, not floppy nor underbaked, the perfect slight crisp on the crust. The service here is great too! I have been wanting to get a taste every time they mention it, because it feels good to align with others who have good taste. Therefore, I came in with high expectations. We arrived for our reservation just as the restaurant opened and were led to the dining room at the back. The seats are comfy. We spent a long time perusing the menu, and I couldn't decide because everything sounded so good! They later delivered us an amuse bouche of a fried goat cheese stick with a green sauce. This was so good. The three of us split the timballo and yukon potato pizza, which were both unique and delicious. It looks like my mom had ordered the timballo last time she came here, which must mean it's that good. I originally wanted to try the fig & pesto pizza, but the yukon potato was a good choice as well. I really enjoyed my ravioli - it was a huge portion, which surprised me since restaurants of Intero's caliber typically only give you like 5 or 6 pieces. We took a look at their dessert menu, but nothing interested me. I definitely do have to come back another time to try their other starters, pastas, and pizzas! My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Intero for our 6 year anniversary. We arrived in time for our reservation and we're seated immediately. We were promptly served glasses of Prosecco, and there was a little sign on the table that said "happy anniversary". Really nice touches! The menus change every day and are seasonal. We had reviewed the menu online beforehand, and quickly placed our order. We ordered the burrata and bruschetta to start, the saffron rigatoni and duck risotto as mains, and the brown butter cake for dessert. We also ordered a bottle of wine with dinner. Ahh so good! We had an early al fresco dinner here, and really enjoyed every bite! When you make a reservation, the restaurant gives very specific parking instructions which I appreciated. We were seated right away and the gravel patio area filled up quickly with other guests. We started with the sourdough focaccia, with house made ricotta, wildflower honey, and garden thyme. SO good. I would absolutely recommend this. I got the grilled gulf redfish in mushroom brodo with kohlrabi and basil. The fish was so flaky and was just delicious in the mushroom broth. It really had all the umami flavors - I loved it! My fiance got the mafaldine pasta in a house bolognese with rosemary and grana padano and loved it! It really tastes like this sauce was cooked all day. The handmade pasta was chef's kiss! I had a really delicious and interesting cocktail with mezcal. My only complaint is that we were swarmed with flies outside. It was very uncomfortable. The servers brought over fans which helped at the end. The other tables had fans blowing on them which seemed to keep the flies away. I would request to sit at one of those tables next time. I would have liked more vegetables in that dish and maybe a better choice for a risotto? The crispy pork was good but the sweet corn polenta was lacking flavor. Would have liked a toast or something to go with it but the crispy chips on top added just enough crunch to the dish. Risotto wasn't too bad but I've had better. The oyster mushroom pizza is a must try! Stopped by for an anniversary date night. Their parking lot is sizeable for the area, but will often get filled up during the dinner rush. There's plenty of street parking on Cesar Chavez as well as on the surrounding area. However, probably best to allocate some time in case you need to park a couple blocks away. The service was fantastic! Our server was super nice, attentive, and very familiar with the menu. We started with the sourdough foccacia. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside, while soft on the inside. I'm usually not a fan of sourdough, but this was great. The ricotta was also delicious and really addicting with the sweetness from the honey. We went wild and got three entrees: the rabbit gnocchi, corn bucatini, and the duck risotto. The gnocchi was well made, although the rabbit wasn't very memorable. The corn bucatini was really unique and had a great flavor. Wished it had a stronger taste and sweetness from the corn though. The duck was cooked perfectly, delicious, and the portion size was great. The sauce was a bit salty, however. For dessert we got the brown butter cake. Perfect to end the night, you can't go wrong with cake and ice cream. Nice and sweet, with a mouthwatering texture. Overall, even though there were some flaws, everything was delicious and the menu items are all unique and exciting. I loved that Intero is in East Austin, that the patio reminded me of my January weekend in Rome and that we were seated in a corner that facilitated our conversation. I really enjoyed my cocktail, and our server carefully marked my menu so I could avoid pork. I was really sad that my fish entree was served in a tureen (necessary because it was swimming in sauce). Out of all the incredible restaurants in Austin, this isn't one I'd recommend spending your time on. There were gnats flying around my food and landing on both the table and me while I was eating, which immediately made the experience uncomfortable. On top of that, we went without water refills multiple times and had long stretches with empty drinks. It felt like service was inattentive throughout the meal. When I asked for extra sauce for my pasta, I was told they "only portion enough sauce for a certain number of dishes." There's a few restaurants in the area where they have converted old homes into businesses. This restaurant seems to share such a similarity, but not entirely. And one thing that nobody has mentioned is that parking can be a problem. They do share a parking lot with other businesses, and you can park along Cesar Chavez at your own risk, at least there are no parking kiosks to pay at. Once inside, the space is fairly intimate with low wooden ceilings over concrete flooring. There's 10 seats at the bar to sit at which is also home to the wood fired pizza oven in the corner. They also have about a dozen tables outside under the same wooden ceiling. I knew I was coming here with a group of almost 20 friends which gave me plenty of time to read through the reviews. The vast majority of people enjoy the food here, although being a meat and potatoes guy, the items on the menu are not something I would normally order. Some of the stuff they serve here is definitely not in my comfort zone, but I can appreciate their crafted dishes. Some I liked, some I didn't. I have to admit, many of the dishes were rich and flavorful that did actually win me over. No slab of ribs, pork/lamb chops, steaks or meatballs to fullfill your protein addiction, it's more of an umami experience. I can see why this is a popular spot due to its eclectic and adventurous menu and excellent service. We enjoyed the chocolates and gelato at the end which were a nice conclusion to the dinner. Just wow! The folks at Intero are doing it RIGHT. The customer service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. I don't remember the host's name but he was so kind and made us feel super welcome; same for our server and all the waitstaff throughout the evening. We had a larger party so they sat us in a more private area which worked out perfectly. And then there was the FOOD!!! Absolutely delicious. For small plates we had the sourdough focaccia, summer melon salad, and burratta. All were perfectly balanced and I'm not kidding when I say I've thought about the focaccia nearly every day since. The drinks and entrees were lovely as well, but those starters really made quite the impression! No doubt Intero will be the first thing on our agenda next time we visit Austin. read more

went to celebrate my lil bros bday, we heard lovely things here and trust they did not disappoint us. We got super lucky got there right when it opened and tried to do a walk in and it was a success! Brooklyn our waitress was like the best, explaining everything to us, even my brother has som allergies so she took the menu and adjusted it what he can and cannot have... the food..... trust you should get the Focaccia bread with the whipped ricotta.... to die for!!! rigatoni my mum got but she wasn't super obsessed but it was yummy, me and the birthday bro got the shared wagyu ny strip and it was cooked to perfection. Brooklyn knew what wine i would enjoy and so i trust her now with my life, highly recommended her. we even tried their rotating truffles and they cute! very demure.... i felt we sampled everything, people from other tables were jealous since we ordered so much so it was very nice. we got the very back room which feels like a ship i sat in the booth side, lighting is good enough not too dark not too bright also they were very attentive to o get us water when we needed because i always say hydration is fundamental! read more

My go to for visitors in Austin. I've been MULTIPLE times and never disappointed. The service is always great, the food is truly crafted, and it's all around a lovely ambiance. Highly recommend for a date night. read more

Intero is an easy 5 stars. Our waitress was one of the best we have had, genuinely lovely and attentive. I ordered the duck and found it too gamey for my palate, though the risotto was one of the best I have ever had. Without hesitation they offered to bring another entrée, even though it felt like the issue was on me. I tried the roasted pork and OMG, it was phenomenal, easily the best thing I have eaten in a while. Stellar service, thoughtful hospitality, and food that hits.
