This is not an easy review to write. We chose Innovative Radiant Heating based on the good yelp reviews. A year ago (12/2023) Innovative Radiant Heating installed radiant heating under our main floor and down stairs bedrooms and bathrooms. Ramnar came to inspect the area in August 2023 and nothing was flagged as problematic. Unfortunately, the workmanship was so poor that it caused problems. As I type this review, workers are under my home ripping out the shoddy work, relocating the tankless heater and adding the very important things that were missing. Why? We surely did not want to spend thousands of dollars on this again but after our heating bill went UP hundreds of dollars right after Ramnar's install, and the thermostats never worked with the radiant heat system and the green motor ran continuously day and night regardless of whether hot water or heat was being used, and that motor was too hot to touch with bare hands, we decided that we had to replace his work before the entire system failed. We met with two professionals and spoke with Noritz and Navian to troubleshoot the issues, sending them videos and photos of Ramnar's work. It's ALL WRONG. Here's the parital list: *When they were 'finished' i found an area of exposed tubing under house. No covering what so ever. *Wrong cable was run to the thermostats (he double'd up ethernet cable, could not run it through one of our walls and thus drilled through closet shelves into the adjacent room. *thermostats installed are not meant to be used with radiant heat system, when I asked for the manual he said to find it online. *no metal heat diffusers used under floor. *kinks in installed hoses (that explains the very hot spots). *staples going through the hoses installed! *tankless water heater installed in an area where NO ONE can stand in front of it. Code requires a 2' radiance around sides and front and this had 6" in front of it. We could not stand in front of this machine to even try to fix what was happening. *No air gap installed. *Incorrect type of tubing used. *Thin silver, crinkly "insulation" was stapled beneath tubing instead of 4" thick real insulation. Our crawl space has been so very warm. *Tankless heater was not hung on wall using metal bracket, it was hung on a piece of plywood and there are still nails sticking through to the outside of our home. I asked Ramnar to fix that and it's most nails still there. just smashed down into our house. So our house is damaged by this work. This is what a recommended Radiant Heat Installer found: Navien NCB Boiler Upon inspecting this Navien Comby install, we found a few issues. does not have proper clearance required by nobby and for access. - Gas line is undersized - No air elimination is on the system - Incorrect gauge of wire for thermostats - Thermostats that are installed are incompatible with the system - Manifold system does not allow proper bleeding - Cannot confirm or deny that for the radiant heat system is an oxygen barrier type - Tubing installation does not meet any standards from any manufacture - Zero heat transfer plates - Insulation is not adequate To correct: - Remove tubing - Remove unit - Reinstall existing unit on right side of basement - New gas line - New venting - New waterlines - New oxygen barrier tubing - New manifold - New isolation valves - New ecobee thermostats - Install snake n heat transfer plates - Install 4 inches of insulation beneath tubing - Install air separator - Install new system pump - Install system feeder Estimated 4 to 5 day install How is it possible for someone with such great 5 star reviews to do such criminal work? We are paying thousands less than what he charged to have his work ripped out and replaced. I feel stupid for trusting Innovative Radiant Heating and trusting yelp. It doesn't feel good to write such a negative review, the work was that bad. Innovative Heating should absolutely pay us the $25,000 it's costing us to replace their garbage. read more

We needed some solution towards issues with allergies , forced heat air when it is cold and didn't appreciate cold floors. So, we found this company! We had our home installed with heated floors. It was the best decision ever! We had warm floors installed throughout the first floor of our home. Not only did it provide energy efficiency, it provides comfort throughout those really cold months. When we turn on our heater, we don't experience hot air blowing to our faces anymore. It's comfortable and toasty inside while it is freezing cold outside. In fact, I am able to wear shorts and tank top inside the home because of how comfortable the temperature is. The warmth also goes up to the 2nd floor! Service was great! They answered all our questions and assisted with whatever we wanted to know. It is a great long term investment plus definitely adds value to your home! Since I was going to replace my hardwood floor and heating system, I decided to give radiant heating a try. The regular HVAC companies in bay area don't even know what radiant heating is. So I gave up on them. And then I came across Innovative Radiant Heating. After contacting them through Yelp, we scheduled a free appointment to see if I can even get radiant heating installed in my home. So Ramnar showed up to my place and told me I can install radiant heating under my subfloor and I didn't even need to remove the existing hardwood floor. He told me he could set it up for me in one business week. He came to my plsvr with his colleague and set up the radiant heating on time as promised. Since my hardwood floor was pretty old, I got it replaced regardless. However, two of the pipes were damaged during that work. After my hardwood floor was installed, Ramnar came back to my place and identified all the leaks and fixed the damaged pipes very quickly. He's very knowledgeable and provided me all the information about the type of wood and underlayment that I needed to get the best heat out of my floor. I've been wanting to install a tankless water heater for some time now. I wasn't expecting my water heater to fail on me as soon as it did, but things happen. I went out and bought a tankless and then started looking for companies to do the install as that's the only way to preserve the warenty. I had three different companies in mind, but Innovative Radiant Heating was the company I went with more for the fact that they're local and I like to support local businesses. We talked, got a quote, and they showed up on time to do the work. They did a great job and were pleasant to talk to. Everything works great, and we're stoked. After purchasing a home that had radiant heated floors in the master bath that was conveniently placed on the sales ad but not working correctly when we closed escrow and moved in. I called 100 companies and many wouldn't touch the project due to the unknowns in our system. Best decision ever, hiring this crew to replace a couple ancient cast iron boilers. He worked very intelligently to tie in a modern mod/con boiler with my gorgeous old radiators. I will begin by saying that there is nothing better in winter than radiant heat, I mean the whole house is warm to the touch and no dry air blowing on you. So when my radiant heat boiler died last winter, we were very sad, so this summer I had three companies bid on the work to replace it. All three bids were competitive, but Innovative seemed to be the most complete, a great price, and we just liked Ramnar in general. He came right on time when scheduled and quickly and efficiently installed a new boiler. Now as it turns out, there was a leak in one of the pipes in the floor, so he recommended a specialist to find it. The specialist came out and put an 'X' on the floor like a treasure map. Ramnar came out the next Monday and jack-hammered to find and replace the leaky section of pipe. Again, he was fast, efficient, clean, and the fix worked perfectly. He patiently had me test the system and now it works as it should. I am waiting for winter to start and set it for 70 degrees and forget it until next spring. I cannot say enough good things about Innovative, as they are friendly when you call, fast to respond, and their work is really excellent. On a side note, they even installed a few sink fixtures in my bathroom and kitchen I had been meaning to do, and at a great price. We knew our house had radiant heat set up, but the boiler was old and had not been working. For 3+ years we were trying to find someone who would help us confirm that the pipes in the floor are fully functional and have no leaks. Ramnar arrived right within the anticipated time window, and proceeded to (1) test our radiant floor system (2) diagnose the problem (a broken pump from too much air in the system) (3) call the parts dealer (4) pick up the part (5) replace the broken pump and (6) show me what to do if the system starts gurgling too much and pressure drops. Finding a repairman during this cold weather was a monumental task. Expensive quotes, no returned calls, long waiting periods before somebody could come to see the heater. Ramnar and his wife Elena were the only that responded the same day, showed up afterhours and fixed the heather.
